Ratchet finds a problem that prevents you from active duty with N.E.S.T., but he convinces Lennox to let you join, but you'll do things around the base. Lennox wants your heart tested before officially saying no active duty. While breaking the news, Jolt tells you a little secret.

Third-person P.O.V.
This isn't good. Ratchet frets as he listens to (Y/N)'s heart, feeling the guilt already he'll have to tell her plans have changed, and she's unable to take part in training or active duty. This grumpy medic has a soft spot for her since she's a friend of the Lennox family and has been around the base well before she turned eighteen. Perhaps it was all the time around the Autobots that inspired (Y/N) to want to join N.E.S.T., but now Ratchet has to crush those dreams.
"Ok, (Y/N), you—." He started.
"Come on, (Y/N), my training class starts in two minutes," Sideswipe interrupts and pulls her away. Ratchet knew he should be telling (Y/N) the unfortunate news now, but he couldn't. Ratchet reviews the health records he received from the hospital, hoping to find out (Y/N) lucked out, and she has been able to be active in sports even with the condition. Ratchet tries to think (Y/N)'s doctor(s) didn't save copies of the notes, knowing full well he could be denying he has to tell (Y/N) she can't join N.E.S.T.
"Ratchet?" Jolt asks, "what troubles you."
"I have to tell (Y/N( she can't join N.E.S T. as she has a heart murmur."
Damn it, having to crush a friend's dreams. Jolt dreads.
"Let's go talk to Lennox," Jolt suggests.

"...but she can still go work around the base," Ratchet argues, "help Ironhide with the weapons, or Jolt and I in the medbay."
The room is silent as Lennox thinks; Ratchet tries to stay relaxed as he waits for Lennox to possibly tell him (Y/N) can't join N.E.S.T.
"Hmm, nothing in her records saying she couldn't be athletic or even take part in gym class. I don't feel comfortable assuming this means the heart murmur isn't a problem, but for now, I think it's best (Y/N) help around the base. If you're comfortable with it, you can give her tests to figure out how serious this is. Then, try to contact her doctor for answers."

Ratchet asks Jolt to tell (Y/N) the news, which could be good or bad to her. He also knows Jolt's secret and believes this could be a good time to tell her.

Jolt's P.O.V.
Seriously, Ratchet?! Hoping (Y/N) won't be too mad at me for crushing her dreams when I tell her I have a crush on her?
Anger at him for putting this on me turns to fear as I see (Y/N) taking part in Sideswipe's training class, and the aft locked the doors.

It's a long twenty minutes waiting for either Sideswipe to come out panicking or (Y/N) to come out.
"Jolt?" She asks, "did Ratchet forgot a test?"
"Well...you could say that," I sigh, "come with me."
I take (Y/N) to my room; the only place I could think of that would be private.

I struggle to get myself to tell her as we sit on the bed.
"(Y/N), Ratchet found a problem during your exam."
"What?!"
"A heart murmur, and nothing in your records. Listen to me; this could be minor, and you can still take part in active duty, but it might be a few weeks before we know for sure. Lennox says you can help here. Help Ironhide with the weapons, help Ratchet and me in the medbay."
(Y/N) still cries, knowing half her dream is possibly ruined. Sure, she's still part of N.E.S.T., but she wants to fight the cons alongside us.
I question Ratchet believing now is a good time to tell (Y/N) I like her as she cries.
"(Y/N), I have something else to tell you. It's not bad at all," I make sure she's looking at me, "I like you. I have since you started hanging around the base."
She looks at me, shocked.
"I-I love you too. I thought I couldn't tell you since I'm a human, and you're part of an advanced alien race."
This must mean she thought I was too old for her since I'm thousands of years old, but my holoform is only three years older than her. So maybe she worries her family will not like knowing I'm an alien.
"It's true, we might face challenges, like your family, but we love each other, and that's all that matters.s," I look at the time, "let's go on our first date now? It's almost dinner time."
"Ok."

I don't mean downstairs in the cafeteria; I took (Y/N) to a nice restaurant. She can forget the fact she can't be on active duty for now. I don't think she's done being displeased at this, but I'm here for her. I feel like she must want to be a doctor since she spent time in the medbay- even if it was to spend as much time with me as possible. She'll be happy even if things aren't going as she hoped.
