It's been ten years since (Y/N)'s death, and Smokescreen is going through the five stages of grief again — thankfully, while his child is away.

Third-person P.O.V.
Smokescreen struggles with the fact his wife has been gone for ten years. His child is away volunteering at school while he builds a treehouse.
"Why a treehouse up here on the top of the mountain?" Ultra Magnus asks.
"It's called a treehouse, but since we don't live now any trees, this will have to do!"
"Are you ok?"
"I'M FINE!"
Wheeljack is in the elevator as I wait for it.
"What's your problem?" He asks
"Smokescreen."
Wheeljack decides to throw the lobeball he was holding right at the treehouse. Smokescreen is furious, and the two mechs run into the elevator.

Miko sits on the edge of the ugly yellow couch, talking to Jack on the phone, when she sees Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack's run out of the elevator. She thinks nothing of it until Smokescreen comes running out of the elevator two minutes later, shooting his gun. Wheeljack stupidity runs to the kids' entertainment area. Smokescreen looks at Miko, shocked at what he's seeing. His mind believes he found what he needs to fill the pain.
"Wheeljack, how much do you want for her?" Smokescreen asks.
"Huh?" Miko and Wheeljack ask.
"What the frag is wrong with you?! Buying a human!" Wheeljack scolds, grabs Miko, and runs down the hall. Smokescreen tackles Smokescreen and grabs Miko. He attempts to kiss her as Miko tries to break free.
"What the hell is wrong with him?" Miko asks Magnus as she continues to avoid being kissed.
"He's unstable," Magnus explains as he wacks Smokescreen's helm.
Smokescreen releases Miko, and Wheeljack grand her, infuriating Smokescreen. The two mechs ran to a safe room. Smokescreen followed and bangs on the door, demanding they let Miko go.

"You guys realize it's been ten years since his wife died?" Miko asks.
"Damn, it's hard on him," Wheeljack realizes.
"Come on, open the door," Smokescreen sobs before giving up and walking away.
Magnus and Wheeljack wait five minutes before opening the door. Smokescreen is nowhere to be found. Magnus goes to open the door to Smokescreen's room but hears crying before he opens the door.

Twenty minutes pass before Optimus goes into the room. Smokescreen is still crying.
Optimus sits on the edge of the berth, rubbing Smokescreen's arm.
"Smokescreen, your behavior today is unacceptable. We all miss your wife; it's hard to believe it's been ten years, but would you like (C/N) to see all this?"
Smokescreen knows it would have been terrible for (C/N) to see their dad the way he acted today. He accepts he needs to try to move on — though maybe not fund someone else.

He goes to the main area, waiting for his child to get home.
"I'm so sorry; I wish we could be together, my love," (Y/N)'s ghost sobs, hating all she can do is watch her child grow up, and her husband still struggle with her death.
