Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, during a meeting in which Lobo started giving all the information he had on Captain Avarice, Supergirl somehow appeared to be in two places at once. Her energy signature was spotted over Metropolis, but when she arrived at the meeting she claimed she was in DC. Confirming this statement, we left off with everyone confused. So what is going on here? Read on to discover...
(Our story picks up on the road to Metropolis, where Blaze, Flash, and Supergirl are dashing into the city, trying to discover the source of the mysterious twin energy signature. And before they can even get into town, the familiar sight of Kryptonian heat vision can be seen)
Blaze: Looks like your doppelganger's still in town!
Flash: Let's just hope it's not the one from Earth X.
Blaze: Do I even want to know what this Earth X thing is?
Flash: Trust me, the answer to that is no.
(With the three rushing into town, we focus in on the doppelganger, revealing a primarily white suit with red accents and cape, blue gloves and boots, and a notable cleavage window for some reason, but otherwise this person looks exactly like Supergirl, save for her hair being a lighter blonde, slightly longer, and draping down over her right eye rather than her left. And this person is tearing through Brainiac's drones, save for one she doesn't see coming, but thankfully for her, Supergirl arrives and slams the thing out of the sky)
?: (Seeing this) Nice save.
Supergirl: Thanks.
?: So who do I owe the thanks to?
Supergirl: Kara Zor-El. But most just call me Supergirl.
?: Wait, did you just say your name was Kara Zor-El?
Supergirl: (Slightly confused) Yeah, who's asking?
Power Girl: Kara Zor-El, that's who.
(At this point, Blaze has arrived and is seeing the confusion)
Blaze: So you're Kara Zor-El too, eh?
Power Girl: From another Earth, yeah.
Blaze: Do you have another name you go by?
Power Girl: I started calling myself Power Girl when I was younger. Been trying to change it, but the old title has stuck.
Blaze: Power Girl, eh? Nice to meet you. Name's Blaze.
(But just as the handshakes and how-do-you-dos are getting along, one of Brainiac's messenger drones shows up, and he's completely stunned in his holographic projection)
Brainiac: This cannot be possible. There were only two Kryptonians on my record. A third one could not have escaped my grasp!
Power Girl: Newsflash, you maniac. I'm not from this Earth.
Brainiac: A traveler from the Multiverse? Curious...
Power Girl: Now then, you'd better vacate this planet, before you meet your fate of your counterpart on my Earth.
Brainiac: And what exactly happened to this other Brainiac?
Power Girl: I put my fist through his chest.
(At this point, both Blaze and Supergirl are shocked at this revelation, Brainiac can merely chuckle)
Brainiac: There is no way a 12th Level Intellect such as myself could have fallen to someone like you.
Power Girl: I'm more than willing to demonstrate, if that's what you're after.
Brainiac: That will not be necessary. (To his drones) Capture them both.
(With that, Brainiac's drones go into action, both in the air and on the ground. But they're no match for the combined foursome fighting them off. The aerial battle is finished off quickly, but Flash, being on the ground alone, is getting a little overwhelmed, so Blaze and the Kryptonians dive down to give the Scarlet Speedster a little bit of aid. The ground troops seem to be causing more trouble though. But just as things look bleak, a familiar blur of speed enters the scene: Jay Garrick has arrived)
Flash: Jay?
Jay Garrick: Belial saw everything, figured you could use a... (Sees Power Girl) Kara?
Power Girl: Jay? When did you get here?!
Jay Garrick: I was about to ask you the same question!
Blaze: Wait, you two know each other?!
Power Girl: We're both in the JSA!
Jay Garrick: Didn't expect them to drag you over here!
Power Girl: We'll catch up later, Jay. (Rips one of Brainiac's drones in half) We've got a situation to finish here.
Jay Garrick: Couldn't have put it better myself.
(With the additional help of Jay Garrick, the small army of drones is quickly dispatched before Brainiac recalls the rest.)
Power Girl: Looks like he's giving up!
Blaze: He's just retreating for now, chances are he'll be back sooner rather than later, and he's definitely added you to his target list. We've got a place you can wait out the storm if needed.
(Understanding the situation, Power Girl and the rest head off towards the Legion HQ, only to reveal we've only been seeing this part of the scene from a hologram projector in Brainiac's Skull Ship, where the Coluan himself is watching this as Gorilla Grodd walks in)
Grodd: What's so important that it's worth getting me up at this time of day?
Brainiac: It appears there are now three Kryptonians on this planet.
Grodd: What?! Three?! How's that even possible!?
Brainiac: One of them is the Kara Zor-El of another universe.
Grodd: Great. Just when this situation wasn't confusing enough. Now there's two Supergirls running around!
Brainiac: My research has been updated to include this variable, especially considering the second one claims to have killed my counterpart on her world.
Grodd: What?
Brainiac: This universe's Kara Zor-El is now a secondary target. Bring me the other world's version. I must know how she managed to kill another version of me.
(And as Brainiac changes his goals, our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for now. So, Power Girl has officially made her debut, and Brainiac is indeed very interested in her. More on that situation later. I would say next time, but we've got something special planned for next time. So what is that? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
