Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, a brief return to the present day, for Dracia's bachelorette party. All was well until Godwin showed up, possibly drunk or at least acting like it, and tried to kidnap Dracia with undoubtable intention to rape her. Thankfully Chrys was there to beat the tar out of him, confessing her feelings for Dracia in the process. All ended well, thankfully. But, now, back to the conflict. So, what's coming next? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes back in Legion HQ, where Blaze, Supergirl, Flash, Power Girl, and Jay Garrick are discussing something)
Blaze: So... how exactly did you get to this universe?
Power Girl: That's the thing. I have absolutely no idea. One minute I'm in my apartment in National City, and next thing I know I'm in an alternate Metropolis with Brainiac's ugly ass Skull Ship hanging over it.
Blaze: Wait, could this have something to do with Batman's device going on the fritz after we used it last?
Flash: It's possible. Now that I think about it, that's probably how Belial's latest recruits ended up over here.
Blaze: We'll have to analyze the data and see if there's any truth to that.
Flash: I'll pencil it in for this afternoon.
Power Girl: Now we've just got to figure out how to get back to my Earth.
Jay Garrick: I know someone who can get us back.
Power Girl: Yeah?
Jay Garrick: He's called Belial Aether. I work with him, I'll introduce you.
Power Girl: Sounds like a plan.
Blaze: Then I'll get you set up with our comm system. You said you had another name you were trying to start using?
Power Girl: Yeah, why?
Blaze: I'll use it for your comm codename. Now, what was it?
Power Girl: Galatea.
Blaze: Got it.
(But just as Blaze is about to make this entry, a smoke bomb goes off, revealing Batman entering the scene.)
Flash: (Waving the smoke out of his face at hypersonic speed) Was the smoke bomb necessary, Bruce?
Power Girl: At least some things never change across the multiverse.
Batman: We've got a situation in Gotham. (Looks at the duo of Power Girl and Supergirl) Wait, since when were there two of Kara?
Power Girl: Long story short, I'm from another Earth.
Blaze: We'll get you acquainted later. What's the situation, Bruce?
Batman: Unclear, but there's been a large amount of power surges rocking Gotham today.
Blaze: Sounds like a job for the Gotham Utilities Commission.
Batman: Not when there's a huge spike in Speed Force energy around the same time.
Jay Garrick: I supposed you suspect it was Barry or I, chum?
Batman: I've kept tabs on you two the entire time we've been working together. I know it wasn't any of you.
Flash: If it wasn't Jay or I, and Wally died when Joker nuked Metropolis, that can only mean...
Blaze: Reverse Flash.
Batman: Exactly.
Flash: But wait a minute. Thawne uses the Negative Speed Force. That doesn't usually impact electric transmission like the usual Speed Force does.
Batman: That's the thing. He's not alone. The partner's causing the power surges.
Blaze: Wait, who could he be working with? How many people with electrokinesis are still alive?
Flash: Cancelling out the Speed Force users, I only know of two. Black Lightning's one of them.
Blaze: Then chances are that the partner's the other.
Flash: Then in that case, we're dealing with Leslie Willis.
Blaze: Not quite familiar with that one.
Batman: She was one of Superman's rogues, going by the name Livewire. Ever since the Regime fell, we lost track of her.
Blaze: So if this Livewire's working with Reverse Flash, she's probably with the Society.
Flash: That fits, since both her and Brainiac have major issues with Superman.
Supergirl: That just begs the question, what are they doing?
Batman: That's where I was hoping you could come around.
Blaze: The World's Greatest Detective needs our help?
Batman: I have my theories, but I'm going to need a little extra help getting evidence.
Blaze: (Sarcastically) Please tell me somebody's recording this. We'll never hear this again!
Batman: Look, I could do without the sarcasm.
Blaze: Keep your cowl on, Bruce. We'll help you out.
Batman: Thanks. We set out immediately.
Jay Garrick: I'll get the intel to Belial. He'll likely meet us in Gotham.
Batman: Fine by me.
(With that, Batman throws down another smoke bomb and disappears)
Blaze: Is it just me, or is Bruce acting weirder than usual?
Power Girl: At least you've still got your Bruce.
Flash: Come again?
Power Girl: My Earth's Batman just passed recently. Cancer. Really nasty stuff.
Blaze: (Realizing this) Whoa. That's... unfortunate.
Power Girl: Yeah, but hey, Dick's doing pretty good in his place.
Jay Garrick: You can say that again.
Blaze: Well. Terribly sorry for your loss. Let's get back to task before Bruce realizes we're lagging behind.
(With that, the group splits up. Jay Garrick runs back towards Republic HQ, while the rest of the group rushes to catch up with Batman as they all head to investigate the situation in Gotham, ending our story for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for today. I cannot be the only one who thinks it's weird having Batman in this after the death of Kevin Conroy. But, the Caped Crusader plays a crucial role in the story. So, voice of Batman or not, we have to carry on with Batman being here. And it's not like I could ignore this fact, so the alternate Bruce sadly suffers the same fate. RIP Kevin Conroy. Anyways, looks like Reverse Flash and Livewire are up to something. So what's going on? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
