Chapter 10: Fantastic Revelations
***UNIVERSE 1061 - NEW YORK CITY***
The sun had just begun its descent behind the towering skyscrapers of New York City, casting long shadows over the bustling streets below. The air buzzed with anticipation as pedestrians halted their hurried steps, their gazes drawn skyward to witness the spectacle unfolding above. It was another day in the metropolis, but this day would be marked by the clash of titans—the Fantastic Four versus the nefarious Mole Man and his legion of Moloids.
High above the concrete jungle, the Fantastic Four stood on top of a building, their colorful costumes billowing in the wind. Reed Richards, the brilliant Mr. Fantastic, led the charge with his elongated limbs stretched out before him. His wife, the stunning and invisible Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, hovered beside him, her force fields crackling with energy.
Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, streaked through the air like a comet, his fiery aura leaving a trail of sparks in his wake. Ben Grimm, affectionately known as the Thing, lumbered alongside his teammates, his orange rock-like skin rippling with every mighty step.
Together, they formed a formidable force, a symbol of hope and courage against the encroaching darkness that threatened their city.
Down below, beneath the surface of the city streets, Mole Man, the master of subterranean creatures, plotted his dastardly scheme. A sinister smile crept across his twisted features, his beady eyes shining with malevolence. His hunched figure was adorned in tattered, earth-toned clothing, as if he were an extension of the underground from which he hailed.
Mole Man's Moloids, strange subterranean beings with milky white skin and glowing eyes, scuttled around him like an army of ants. Their sharp, clawed hands scraped against the concrete, leaving trails of destruction in their wake. The sound of their incessant chattering echoed through the tunnels as they prepared to unleash chaos upon the surface world.
As the Fantastic Four descended upon the scene, their arrival was met with a cacophony of defiant taunts from Mole Man.
"Ah, the so-called 'heroes' of this pitiful city," he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. "You may have thwarted me before, but this time, the Earth itself shall rise against you!"
Stretching his arms forward, Reed Richard's fingers formed into a tight fist. "We've faced your kind before, Mole Man," he declared, his voice brimming with determination. "And we'll do it again! The Fantastic Four won't let you plunge New York City into darkness!"
Sue Storm conjured a shimmering force field around her team, its translucent energy pulsating with power. "Don't underestimate us, Mole Man," she warned, her voice steady and resolute. "We've come prepared to put an end to your mad machinations."
Johnny Storm ignited himself in a blazing inferno, flames dancing across his body. "Time to heat things up, Mole Man!" he exclaimed, his voice crackling with fiery intensity. "The Human Torch is ready to scorch you back underground!"
"FLAME ON!"
Flexing his massive, muscular, orange rocky form, Ben Grim made the very ground beneath him quake. "Ya think yer little critters can take on the Thing?" he growled, his gravelly voice reverberating through the air. "Time to show 'em what happens when they mess with the toughest rock in the business!"
With their banter echoing through the streets, the Fantastic Four descended upon the Moloids, unleashing a flurry of punches, fireballs, and force fields. Each member of the team fought with their own unique style, a symphony of powers and skills harmonizing in the heart of New York City.
As the battle raged on, the city's denizens watched in awe and terror, their eyes glued to the epic clash unfolding before them. The sky crackled with energy as Sue Storm encased the Moloids in force fields, rendering them immobile. Johnny Storm soared through the air, leaving trails of fire in his wake, incinerating Moloids with swift and precise bursts of flame.
Meanwhile, Ben Grimm charged into the fray, his fists hammering into the ground, creating shockwaves that sent the Moloids flying. And Reed Richards, his body stretching and contorting, wove through the chaos, his elongated limbs ensnaring Moloids like a web of rubbery justice.
With each defeated Moloid, the Fantastic Four inched closer to Mole Man himself, their determination unyielding. They knew that stopping him was the only way to ensure the safety of their beloved city.
But as the battle raged on, the true test of strength and willpower had yet to come. The Fantastic Four versus Mole Man—a clash of heroes and villains, of light and darkness—loomed on the horizon, ready to unleash an epic showdown that would determine the fate of New York City itself.
The battle reached its crescendo as the Fantastic Four fought valiantly against Mole Man's Moloids. But just when victory seemed within reach, the ground beneath them trembled, and a sinister aura filled the air. Mole Man's eyes gleamed with a newfound darkness, and with a malevolent laugh, he unleashed his ultimate weapon—the Moloid Heartless.
These twisted hybrid creatures emerged from the shadows, an abomination born from Mole Man's malevolence and the primal nature of the Moloids. They resembled Neoshadows, but their features were twisted and distorted, infused with the distinctive Moloid design. Their milky white bodies were covered in jagged, obsidian-like armor, and their glowing red eyes pulsated with an unholy light.
Reed, ever the rational thinker, stared at the Moloid Heartless in disbelief. "This is impossible!" he exclaimed, his voice laced with incredulity. "Mole Man has corrupted their very essence. We must find a way to stop them!"
Known for his dry sense of humor, Ben couldn't help but quip in the midst of the chaos. "Where are those keyblade kids when ya need 'em?" he grumbled, his deep voice echoing through the battlefield. "Guess it's up to us to give these abominations a taste of some real superhero action!"
The Fantastic Four shifted their focus, their determination unwavering. Working in perfect sync, they engaged the Moloid Heartless with renewed vigor. Sue Storm conjured force fields to shield her team from the Heartless' relentless attacks, while Johnny Storm unleashed fiery torrents that seared through their armor.
Reed Richards, his elongated form darting and stretching, analyzed the Heartless' movements, seeking their weaknesses. With his superhuman intellect, he devised strategies on the fly, coordinating the team's efforts with precision. And Ben Grimm, the powerhouse of the group, threw himself into the heart of the battle, delivering bone-crushing blows that shattered the Moloid Heartless' twisted forms.
As the Fantastic Four fought back, their combined strength and unwavering spirit began to turn the tide of the battle. The Moloid Heartless, once an insidious force, now faltered under the heroes' relentless assault. With each defeated abomination, the darkness surrounding Mole Man waned, weakening his hold over the creatures.
Sensing victory within their grasp, the Fantastic Four intensified their efforts. Sue Storm encapsulated the remaining Heartless in impenetrable force fields, rendering them immobile. Johnny Storm soared high above, his flames blazing brighter than ever, scorching the Heartless into oblivion.
Reed Richards, his mind racing with calculations, devised a plan to confront Mole Man directly. "We've weakened him, team," he called out, his voice filled with determination. "Now it's time to bring an end to his reign!"
The Fantastic Four closed in on Mole Man, their eyes fixed upon him with unwavering resolve. Mole Man, realising the imminent threat, stumbled backward, his twisted grin replaced with a flicker of fear.
"You thought you could conquer New York City," Sue Storm declared, her voice filled with righteous fury. "But the Fantastic Four won't allow it!"
Cracking with fiery energy, Johnny's voice resonated with confidence. "Time to bury back where you belong, Mole Man!"
Ben Grimm, his fists clenched tightly, stepped forward with an intimidating presence. "Ya messed with the wrong heroes, bub," he growled, his voice dripping with warning. "It's clobberin' time!"
With their combined might and unwavering unity, the Fantastic Four launched their final assault on Mole Man. Their punches, force fields, and flames converged upon him, overwhelming his defenses and leaving him vulnerable. Mole Man's reign of terror came to an abrupt end as the heroes' relentless assault brought him to his knees.
New York City stood battered but triumphant, the heroes' victory resounding through its streets. The Fantastic Four stood tall, their heads held high. They had once again defended their city against the forces of darkness, proving that nothing could break the indomitable spirit of the world's greatest superheroes.
As the dust settled from the epic battle, the distinct sound of approaching helicopters sliced through the air. The familiar sight of a Helicarrier hovering above New York City marked the arrival of Nick Fury and his elite team from SHIELD. The Fantastic Four watched with a mixture of relief and amusement as Fury and his agents descended upon the scene with their trademark efficiency.
Nick Fury, sporting his signature eyepatch and wearing an expression of stern authority, stepped forward to confront Mole Man, who was now bound by high-tech restraints. "Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four," he grumbled, his voice laced with a hint of grudging admiration. "You managed to stop Mole Man and his monstrous creations. Good work, as always."
Reed Richards, ever the inquisitive scientist, couldn't help but ponder the nature of Mole Man's control over the Moloid Heartless. "Nick, it's perplexing," he mused, his brow furrowed with curiosity. "Other forces of darkness struggle to control the Heartless, yet Mole Man seemed to wield them effortlessly. I wonder how he achieved such mastery."
Raising an eyebrow, Fury's voice dripped with dry humor. "Reed Richards, the smartest man alive, pondering the mysteries of the Heartless? You'll figure it out, or maybe you'll have to call in our friends from among the stars to lend a hand."
Johnny couldn't resist a playful chuckle, interjecting with a smirk. "Yeah, Reed, you might need the Keyblade Master's help for this one," he teased, his eyes glinting mischievously.
Ever the joker, Ben added his usual quip, unable to resist the opportunity for banter. "Reed, ya think Mickey Mouse is available to take on Mole Man's army?" he chortled, earning an exasperated sigh from Sue.
Always the voice of reason, Sue rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her concern. "Guys, let's focus on the matter at hand. Mole Man may be defeated, but it's clear that other threats won't stop trying to bring chaos to our city, or the world."
With a voice filled with defiance, Mole Man struggled against his restraints. "You may have stopped me this time, but mark my words, Fantastic Four! I'll be back, and your precious city will crumble at my command!"
Ben Grimm couldn't resist a well-timed quip, flexing his rock muscles with a smirk. "Well, Mole Man, in the meantime, enjoy your prison cell. You know what they say—do the crime, do the time!"
Nick Fury turned to Reed, his gaze filled with confidence. "Reed, keep investigating. We'll be taking it from here."
With that, the SHIELD agents swiftly loaded Mole Man onto a secure transport, their professionalism unmatched. The Helicopter rose into the sky, carrying their captive away to face justice.
Reed Richards, his mind abuzz with questions, stroked his beard thoughtfully as he contemplated the enigma of Mole Man's ability to summon the Heartless with ease. His vast knowledge and past encounters with the forces of darkness provided a foundation for his understanding, but this new development perplexed him. He knew he needed to consult his research and delve into his archives, searching for any clues that could shed light on Mole Man's unprecedented control.
Just as the Fantastic Four stood in contemplation, a sudden rift tore through the fabric of reality before them. They watched with wide eyes as two figures emerged, stepping out from the swirling portal. One was a young man with spiky brown hair, dressed in an iconic black coat—Sora, the Keyblade wielder. The other was a sharply dressed man with a solemn expression, Mobius, an agent from the Time Variance Authority (TVA).
Ever the joker, Mobius smirked as he observed the scene. "Ah, Universe 1601 causing another mess in their battles against evil, I see," he quipped, his voice tinged with amusement. "Always a pleasure to deal with you folks."
Sora, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings, gazed at the Fantastic Four with a mix of surprise and curiosity. "New York, but not the New York I know from my timeline," he murmured, his voice filled with wonder.
Sue Storm, her eyes widening, couldn't contain her shock. "Sora, you're alive?" she exclaimed, her voice carrying a mixture of relief and disbelief.
Scratching his head, Been spoke out in confusion. "Last I heard, kid, you were toast from that battle with Xehanort," he remarked, a hint of skepticism in his voice.
Johnny Storm chimed in with a playful quip. "Yeah, Sora, I didn't know zombies could wield Keyblades!"
With his analytical mind piecing the puzzle together, Reed realised that this Sora must be a variant from another timeline.
"Sora, your arrival here brings an element of confusion and potential instability," he noted, his tone reflecting both curiosity and caution.
Mobius stepped forward with a sense of urgency. "Reed, the TVA and another universe require your expertise and the assistance of your team," he explained, his voice laden with gravity. "Mutiple universes need urgent help, and we need The Fantastic Four of this timeline to restore order."
Nodding in agreement, Reed's mind was already formulating plans and calculations.
"Let's return to the Baxter Building," he suggested, his voice resonating with determination. "We need to analyse this situation, understand the convergence of timelines, and find a way to restore balance."
With a collective agreement, the Fantastic Four, Sora, and Mobius ventured back to the Baxter Building, leaving behind the aftermath of their recent battle. Suspense and mystery hung in the air as the heroes faced the unknown, their paths intertwined in an intricate dance of parallel universes and cosmic forces.
****UNIVERSE 5 - DOOM'S CASTLE CHAMBER - LATVERIA***
Doom's eyes narrowed as he contemplated his next move. He had always considered the TVA to be nothing more than an insignificant bureaucratic organization, interfering with his grand designs. Their feeble attempts to maintain the sacred timeline amused him, but he knew that his actions in Universe 5 and crossing through to other timelines were pushing the boundaries of their agreement.
Sitting on his imposing throne, Doom's mind churned with a mix of confidence and urgency. Time was of the essence, for he had unleashed forces that threatened to unravel the very fabric of existence. But Doom was unyielding, undeterred by the potential consequences.
With a dismissive wave of his hand, Doom scoffed at the thought of the TVA's interference. To him, they were nothing more than fools clinging to their false sense of order. "Let them come," he murmured, his voice dripping with arrogance. "If the TVA dares to challenge me, they shall witness the true might of Doom."
His hands cupped together, Doom's fingers intertwined as he pondered his next move. He had always believed himself to be above the constraints of time and destiny, a ruler destined to reshape the multiverse according to his vision. The TVA's feeble attempts to enforce their so-called sacred timeline only fueled his resolve to bring about its downfall.
As the echoes of his thoughts reverberated through the grand halls of his castle, Doom's steely gaze focused on a holographic projection of Universe 5. He knew he had to expedite his plans, for every moment brought the TVA closer to his doorstep. But Doom was unafraid, for he possessed the conviction of a man who believed himself to be beyond the reach of cosmic forces.
In that moment, Doom's resolve solidified. The TVA's interference would not halt his ascent to ultimate power. He would seize the power of Nexus beings, rewrite the rules of time and space, and reshape the multiverse in his image.
With a sly smile under his metal mask, Doom rose from his throne, his regal armor glinting in the dim light of the throne room. He was a force to be reckoned with, a master manipulator of destinies. The TVA may think they held sway over the flow of time, but Doom knew that his destiny was his to control.
As Doom approached the vault in his chamber, the air crackled with an eerie energy. The chamber itself exuded an aura of ancient power, its walls adorned with symbols and sigils that whispered of forbidden knowledge. The vault door, ornate and imposing, seemed to pulse with a malevolent energy.
With a wave of his hand, Doom commanded the vault to open, revealing a vast collection of arcane artifacts and mystical relics. Each item held a story, a fragment of power that Doom had amassed over the years in his quest for supremacy.
His gaze fell upon a particular object, a book bound in black leather and adorned with ancient symbols—the Darkhold. Its pages whispered dark secrets, promising untold power to those who dared to unlock its forbidden knowledge.
Doom's gloved hand reached out, his fingers tracing the edges of the book. He had acquired the Darkhold through his conquests, recognizing its potential to reshape reality itself. Its dark allure had consumed him, driving him to seek out Nexus beings and manipulate the very fabric of existence.
With a flicker of anticipation in his eyes, Doom closed his fingers around the Darkhold, feeling its ancient power coursing through him. He knew that with the combined might of the Nexus beings and the limitless potential of the Darkhold, he could reshape the multiverse according to his own desires.
As he held the book tightly, a sinister smile played upon Doom's lips. He was ready to fulfill his grand design, to ascend beyond mortal limits and claim his rightful place as the master of all realities.
"Time is running out," Doom muttered to himself, his voice a cold whisper that echoed through the chamber. "The TVA may think they can impede my progress, but they are mere insects in the face of my power. Soon, the multiverse will bow before Doom!"
***UNIVERSE 1601 - BAXTER BUILDING - F4 HQ***
Back at the Baxter Building, the atmosphere crackled with curiosity and a sense of urgency. Sora and Mobius took turns recounting the events that led them to seek the assistance of this universe's Fantastic Four. Sora spoke of a branching timeline caused by Universe 5's Doom interference in his timeline, which had led to his arrest by the Time Variance Authority for believing Sora disrupted the Sacred Flow of Time. He shared the heart-wrenching failure he felt for not being able to protect Kairi, his beloved friend and companion.
Mobius interjected, his voice carrying a tinge of concern. "Doom from Universe 5 has been corrupted by the Darkhold," he explained. "But we can't decipher his ultimate plan. He has been appearing in universes on the verge of collapse and branching timelines. He kidnapped Sora's Kairi, which we learnt is a Nexus being."
Reed's mind racing with possibilities, suddenly made a connection. "Wait a minute," he interjected, his voice tinged with both revelation and concern. "The Doom of this timeline also attempted something similar with our Darkhold. He kidnapped Kairi and the other Princesses of the other worlds, but we were able to thwart his plans."
Sora's eyes widened with anticipation as he asked, "But what was Doom's plan? Why did he kidnap Kairi and the other Princesses?"
Sighing heavily, Reed's genius mind worked through the puzzle. "The Darkhold showed Doom visions of the Prime Universe, Universe 1," he explained, his voice carrying a weight of gravity. "He believed that by unleashing chaos in Universe Prime, he could alter the course of the multiverse and all its timelines."
Mobius, who had remained largely silent, was speechless at the mention of Universe Prime. He knew of its existence, but it was a highly classified knowledge, locked away by the Time Keepers and accessible only to the highest-ranking members of the TVA.
***REED'S STORY ON UNIVERSE 1 / UNIVERSE PRIME***
Reed Richards, his voice steady and filled with wisdom, gathered the team around him as he began to unravel the intricacies of Doom's sinister plan. With each word, he painted a vivid picture of a brilliant yet corrupted mind, driven by an insatiable thirst for power and dominion.
"Doom's desires extended far beyond conquering this universe," Reed began, his voice resonating with a mix of concern and determination. "He craved control over the entire multiverse, an insidious ambition that consumed him. The Darkhold, a tome of dark magic and forbidden knowledge, became the catalyst for his descent into darkness. Somehow, Doom managed to acquire it, granting him access to unspeakable powers."
Reed's gaze shifted, his eyes reflecting a solemn understanding of the gravity of the situation. "The Darkhold twisted Doom's mind, poisoning him with corruption and unleashing forces beyond comprehension," he continued. "Within its pages, Doom saw glimpses of the Prime Universe, where life began and an infinite tapestry of timelines unraveled before the existence of the Time Variance Authority."
Sora and the others listened intently, their minds struggling to comprehend the magnitude of Doom's plan. Reed's storytelling prowess captivated them, drawing them deeper into the narrative of the battle that had unfolded.
"Realising that Nexus beings possessed the power to open not just the door to Kingdom Hearts but the entire multiverse, Doom set his sights on kidnapping Kairi and the other Princesses of Heart," Reed explained, his voice laced with a mix of admiration and concern for their vulnerability. "Their unique abilities as Nexus beings made them the key to unlocking the secrets of the Prime Universe and reshaping reality itself."
Reed's tone grew more resolute as he continued. "But Victor's arrogance and ego blinded him to the unified front that stood against him," he recounted. "We, the Fantastic Four, alongside the Avengers and our allies, joined forces with Sora and his companions, even forming a temporary alliance with formidable foes such as Xehanort and Thanos. Together, we thwarted Doom's plans at every turn."
A brief pause filled the air as the weight of their victory settled upon the room. Reed's voice carried a sense of both relief and accomplishment as he revealed the culmination of their struggle. "In the end, it was our Sora, guided by his indomitable spirit and the power of the Keyblade, who sealed Doom away into the Negative Zone," he declared. "His imprisonment ensured the safety and peace of this timeline, protecting it from the clutches of Doom's ambitions."
A quiet hush fell over the room as the heroes absorbed the enormity of their triumph. They had stood against the machinations of a villain whose desires threatened not only their own reality but the very foundation of the multiverse itself.
Mobius, his eyes widened with a newfound appreciation for the intricacies of the Sacred Flow of Time, broke the silence. "I thought I knew everything there was to know about the sanctity of the timeline," he admitted, his voice tinged with a mix of awe and humility. "But this... this was part of the plan, a piece of the script within this universe that I could never have known."
Reed nodded, his gaze filled with a blend of pride and gratitude for his team and their allies. "Our actions have not only protected our reality but the delicate balance of the multiverse. Victor's actions never set the Universe towards dying or branching into a new timeline, it was set in stone for this to happen - and not alerting yourself and the rest of the TVA."
Mr Fantastic concluded, his voice carrying the weight of responsibility. "And now, with the convergence of timelines and the threat to Universe Prime, our mission becomes even more vital. We must uncover Doom's ultimate intentions and prevent the cataclysmic consequences that loom over us all."
***END OF STORY***
Sora, his heart heavy with curiosity and a tinge of trepidation, couldn't help but ask the burning question that hung in the air.
"But what happened to me in this universe?" he inquired, his voice laced with a mixture of hope and apprehension.
Sue, Johnny, and Ben exchanged glances, silently acknowledging that Reed needed a break from his storytelling duties. Sue, ever the nurturing figure, took a step forward and gently placed a hand on Sora's shoulder.
"In this universe, your journey was one of triumph and sacrifice," she began, her voice soothing and compassionate. "You and the other Guardians of Light stood against Xehanort, the seeker of darkness, and prevented Kingdom Hearts from consuming all realms into eternal darkness."
Johnny, his characteristic smirk shining through, chimed in. "Yeah, you went toe-to-toe with that old sack of crap and kicked his sorry butt!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with admiration. "We all thought you were a goner, but you came out on top."
Sora nodded, gratitude shining in his eyes as he absorbed their words. "Thank you," he said softly, a genuine appreciation evident in his voice. "But what happened to me afterward? Did I find Kairi? Did we make it back home?"
Ben, his voice carrying a touch of empathy, stepped forward to offer his account. "You did find Kairi, kid" he reassured Sora, his deep voice filled with warmth. "But something happened. You disappeared, just like that. Kairi returned, but you didn't."
The Keyblade wielder from Universe 616 eyes widened in realisation. The pattern was becoming clear, the repeated cycle of his own fate. "In every universe, I'm a fixed point in time," he murmured, a solemn understanding settling upon him.
As Sora absorbed the weight of his realisation, a sense of awe and trepidation washed over him. The idea that his actions were not just a mere series of coincidences but rather a predetermined role in the tapestry of time and destiny was daunting. He struggled to comprehend the magnitude of his existence, intricately linked to the events that unfolded across the multiverse.
He turned to Sue, his gaze filled with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. "So, if I understand correctly," Sora began tentatively, "everything I've learned and experienced so far... My actions to save Kairi, to protect her heart, were meant to happen? They are set points in time?"
Nodding, Sue's eyes filled with understanding and sympathy. "Yes, Sora," she affirmed gently. "Your actions, intertwined with the fate of Kairi and the balance of the multiverse, are indeed set points in time. You are a Nexus being, just like Kairi, and your journey is guided by the hand of destiny."
Mobius, standing by Sora's side, stepped forward and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Sora," he began, his voice filled with admiration, "you are a true hero, traversing the vastness of the multiverse and sacrificing yourself time and time again to save Kairi's heart. Your actions, though predetermined, carry immeasurable weight and significance in every timeline that flows within the Sacred Flow of Time."
At first, Sora felt a mix of awe and confusion. The weight of being a Nexus being, bound to a predetermined path, was heavy upon his heart. But knowing Kairi's across the Multiverse are alive and well, he realised that his actions, no matter how scripted they might seem, were driven by an unwavering love and determination to protect her. And in that moment, he found solace and acceptance within the embrace of his purpose.
A gentle smile formed on Sora's lips as he looked at his friends, his chosen family.
"If my actions are meant to protect Kairi, to keep her heart safe, then I will embrace this role," he declared, his voice brimming with newfound resolve. "No matter the challenges, no matter the sacrifices, I will continue to fight for what is right, knowing that my journey holds purpose and meaning in the grand design of the multiverse."
Sue, Johnny, and Ben exchanged solemn glances, their voices filled with a mix of nostalgia and longing. Sue spoke first, her voice carrying a bittersweet tone.
"Sora, we were fortunate to have had a variant of you in this timeline. You were not just a hero; you were a beacon of light that shone through every darkness that threatened our universe. We miss our fallen friend, and we know that many other heroes in this reality feel the same."
Chiming in with his usual lighthearted demeanor, Johnny momentarily subdued. "Yeah, pal, you brought something special to the team. Your unwavering optimism and bravery were contagious. We still talk about the time you took down that Heartless swarm in Times Square. You were like a whirlwind of light and hope."
Ben, his voice tinged with a touch of nostalgia, added, "You were always there for us when the going got tough, kiddo. Whether it was fighting alongside us against cosmic threats or lending a hand to help those in need, you showed us what it truly meant to be a hero."
Sora listened to their words, his heart swelling with a mixture of gratitude and a sense of responsibility. He had forged deep bonds with the Fantastic Four and had grown to cherish them as true friends. The realisation that his variant on this timeline had left an indelible mark on their lives, even in his absence, warmed his heart.
Mobius, who had been quietly observing the heartfelt conversation, stepped forward with a warm smile on his face.
"You know, Sora," he interjected, "I've seen quite a few variants of you throughout the countless timelines I've traversed. And let me tell you, every single one of them has been a good egg."
His words brought a playful grin to Sora's face, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "Thanks, Mobius. It's good to know that no matter the variation, I'm always striving to do what's right."
Mobius nodded, his expression filled with admiration. "That's the thing about you, Sora. You have a heart full of compassion, courage, and an unwavering determination to bring light into the darkest corners of the multiverse. No matter the challenges you face or the obstacles in your path, you consistently choose to be the hero."
Sora's eyes sparkled with a mixture of humility and pride. "I couldn't do it without the support of my friends and allies. They've always been there for me, and I'm grateful for their unwavering belief in me."
As the conversation came to a close, Sora felt a renewed sense of purpose. He understood that his journey as a Nexus being, as a hero, was significant not just in one timeline but across the vast expanse of the multiverse. And in each variation of himself, he carried the light of hope and the determination to protect those he held dear.
Reed's brow furrowed, his mind racing with possibilities and concerns. He turned his attention to Mobius, his voice tinged with urgency.
"Mobius, have you or the TVA been monitoring Sora and Kairi's home universe since they disappeared from that timeline?"
Blinking in surprise, The Agent was caught off guard by Reed's sudden inquiry. "I... I can't say that we have," he replied, his voice laced with curiosity. "But why are you asking, Reed? What's on your mind?"
Reed's gaze turned grave as he contemplated the implications of his realisation.
"If Sora and Kairi are currently separated from their own universe, and if Sora didn't save Kairi due to Doom's interference, then it's possible that their home reality is vulnerable to external threats."
Sora, his curiosity piqued, spoke up. "Vulnerable? What kind of threats?"
Reed took a deep breath, his mind working quickly to find the right words to explain.
"Sora, have you ever heard of an Incursion?"
***TVA RESEARCH DIVISION***
The research division of the TVA buzzed with activity as alarms blared and warning lights cast an ominous red glow across the room. Ienzo, Even, Christine Palmer, and Dillian scrambled to their stations, their faces etched with concern and panic. Something was gravely amiss.
Even swiftly typed into the computer, his fingers dancing across the keys, desperately trying to bring up a visual representation of Universe 616. But before the screen could fully load, another universe, labeled as 589, appeared on the monitor, hurtling towards them with alarming speed. The researchers gasped in horror, their worst fears unfolding before their eyes.
Voice trembling and in disbelief, Christine muttered, "Is what I think is happening... happening?"
Even's expression darkened with anger and frustration. "Damn it," he muttered through clenched teeth. "This is Doom's doing!"
Realising the severity of the situation, Even quickly gathered his thoughts and issued urgent commands to his team.
"Contact Mobius, and get in touch with the higher-ups in the TVA. We need to alert them about this incoming incursion and find a way to stop it."
Time seemed to slip through their fingers, mocking their attempts to rectify the impending catastrophe. The incursion was already underway, unfolding with relentless speed and undeniable force.
Panic filled the air, palpable and suffocating. Christine's face contorted in horror, while Ienzo and Dillian stood frozen in disbelief. The once serene research facility had transformed into a chaotic battleground, where the very fabric of reality trembled under the weight of impending doom.
The emergency lights flickered, casting eerie shadows that danced across their worried faces. The blaring sirens pierced through their thoughts, amplifying the sense of urgency and danger that hung heavily in the air.
Even clenched his fists, his frustration boiling over. The actions of Doom and the absence of Sora and Kairi in their home universe had set in motion a chain of events that now threatened to unravel the delicate balance of the multiverse itself. Time, once a dependable constant, now felt like a fleeting illusion slipping away from their grasp.
In the midst of the chaos, the researchers fought against despair, their determination ignited by the urgency of the situation. They would not stand idly by as the incursion consumed their realities. They would do whatever it took to bring order back to the Sacred Timeline and protect the fragile existence of countless universes.
As the sirens blared and the warning lights continued to bathe the research division in a haunting crimson glow, the researchers braced themselves for the battle ahead. The stakes had never been higher, and their resolve burned brighter than ever before.
In the face of this dire threat, the researchers would stand strong, united in their mission to prevent the impending catastrophe and restore balance to the multiverse.
