The next night, on the Queen Anne's Revenge, Jack was lounging on the main deck with Faye and Carmella near him. Angelica was making her way up the steps, she turned to look at Sparrow and the girls. Scrum started to play an acoustic guitar on the steps behind Jack at that moment.
"Hola..Come," Jack said as Faye and Carmella looked at each other. Faye rolled her eyes as she watched the two. Jack then pulled out a bottle of wine from within the cannon; the one he was lounging on. "Little drink?"
"Wine, music, candlelight. I think we've traveled down this road before, Jack," Angelica said in an uninterested tone.
"A little cliche," whispered Carmella to Faye who nodded and hid a snicker.
"Yes, we have," Jack responded as he threw her a goblet. "I remember it well." He then opened the wine bottle by using his teeth to pull and release the cork. "Winding, twisting and turning, gyrating, writhing…."
"Hello! We're still here!" Carmella commented, which only got a nasty look from Angelica. Faye then gently shoved her to stop messing with his plans.
"Incessant writhing," Jack said as he continued his speech. "Do you recall Saint Dominique?" He asked her as he raised his goblet.
"La Martinique. I tried to kill you in Saint Dominique," Angelica said a bit flatly.
"Either or," Jack shrugged.
Angelica slowly tilted her cup to Jack for him to pour as she talked. "Hardly appropriate for a first mate."
"Was I the first? I've often wondered.." He whispered as he leaned in close.
"You can be so charming when you want something, Jack." Angelica responded while Faye just rolled her eyes and bit her lip at how it was going. She went and leaned on a nearby cannon as she watched, not really liking it but knowing it was part of her uncle's plan. Carmella sat on the deck's railing annoyed by the fact she had to listen to him flirt. "The Trick is finding out what." As she finished the sentence Scrum strummed his guitar a bit.
"The truth, then, is it?" Jack asked. "Blackbeard has served his purpose. You and I can go to the Fountain together, along with my girls. Where we shall bathe one another in equal shares of fame," He said smoothly as he gently grabbed her hand and wrapped it around her to keep her close in a romantic gesture. "And other assorted debaucheries."
"That better be when we're not around!" Commented Carmella with her arms crossed.
Jack ignored her for the most part as he listened to what Angelica had to say. "And I'll tell you the ritual of the Fountain," she said gently as she swayed with him.
"Yes. The profane ritual," Jack said as he spun her around and then gave her a latin dip.
Angelica gasps before breathing deeply. "Can I trust you, Jack?" She asked as she looked up at him. "I need you on my side," she whispers as she pulled him down to her level.
"Oh, my dearest Angelica. You and I are as thick as thieves, love." He whispered as he was now crawling over top of her.
"Why do we have to be here again?" Carmella asked and Faye just turned her away so that they didn't have to see anything else.
"I don't know," Faye said with a sigh.
"Tell me the rules," Jack breathes as he got closer.
"Water from the Fountain of Youth," Angelica began to say as she gently stroked Jack's face before she rolled him over to be on top of him. "The shimmering tear of a mermaid."
Carmella was able to get her hand on a bottle of rum nearby and she was starting to drink it when she heard the comments and the rolling around behind her. She did a spit take before laughing. The fact that Angelica seemed to think it would be easy to get a mermaid tear was absolutely hilarious to her. Faye was trying not to laugh too but was trying to warn her sister to shut up and not ruin the moment that their uncle was trying so hard to achieve.
Angelica was glaring from under her hair as she looked back at the girls before looking at Jack once more. She cleared her throat before continuing saying the rules. "We need the silver chalices of Ponce de Leon…" As she spoke it, she started to lean in and started to kiss Jack's cheek.
"Uh-huh?" He mumbled.
"With these items…"
"Yes?" He grunted.
"With these items, you may take all the years of life from another, Jack." She stated as she sat up on his lap.
"Eh?" He asked as he sat up as well, now the two were face to face.
"You know what that means. We cannot go alone, you and I. The ritual requires a victim," she whispered as she placed a finger on his lips. "Unless, of course, you are willing to offer up your Goddaughters' lives?"
"That is unfortunate," Jack said quietly. "And I will not steal their lives!"
"Yes, it is," Angelica says as she pets his beard. "Understood," this was said with some surprise, since she has never seen him this protective before.
Jack started to lean back onto the boat once more. "I find my desire for the Fountain greatly lessened."
"Here, here!" Stated both girls in agreement.
"But there is something onboard you do want," said Angelica as she leaned in for a kiss.
At this point both Faye and Carmella rolled their eyes, getting greatly annoyed by this point. After Angelica was done with her extreme flirting, she rolled off him and beckoned the three to follow her. Although the girls could tell she was reluctant with the two of them following. She led them into her father's quarters. There she took out a key and unlocked a gated cabinet.
"What about Blackbeard?" Jack asked.
"He's in the chart room. We'll have to be quick," she whispered as she opened the doors to show different bottles. Faye blinked and looked at them all in amazement.
"Bottles. Lots of bottles.." Carmella said skeptically, unsure of what her uncle really wanted.
Jack and the girls came closer to get a better look. Within each bottle was a ship. Faye now understood what Jack was trying to find, or wanted. The Black Pearl.
Angelica leans in, "He keeps each ship as a prize," she whispered.
"A little egotistical isn't it?" Carmella asked Faye and she nodded.
"You help me, and I promise you your pick." Angelica said nonchalantly
"Do you even know how to get them out of there?" Carmella asked Angelica.
Angelica just raised a brow and gave huff, "Of course I do. Though I think I already know which one Jack is going to choose." She looked over to Jack who had been looking for the specific bottle.
When he found it he leaned in closer to look at it. "The Black Pearl in a bottle?" He asked as he saw the ship moving in the waves in the bottle. "Why is the Black Pearl in a bottle?" He asked her. He then stepped back a bit when he saw Jack the monkey moving around on the tiny ship. "He's even more annoying in miniature," He grumbled.
That comment peaked Carmella's interest and she moved Jack out of the way a bit to try and look inside the bottle. "Little Jackie is in there?" She asked and grinned as she saw the monkey.
Angelica then starts to move the girls and Jack away from the cabinet. Her back to the ship in a bottle. "Do we have a deal, Jack?" she asked.
"Angelica, I know you. You are not going to steal the life of some innocent man." Jack said simply.
"What about the one-legged man?" She asked as she leaned in.
That comment hit the girls hard and they both looked at each other when they knew who she was talking about and they both glared at her. Angelica ignored them once more as she started to close the doors to the cabinet. "I need years, Jack." She said, "Not for me. For my father." She then turned back to Jack and the girls. "I am truly the daughter of Blackbeard."
Jack inhales before speaking, "You've fallen for your own con, love."
"No, he is my father," Angelica stated firmly. "The lies I told you were not lies."
"You lied to me by telling me the truth?" Jack asked inquisitively.
"Yes."
"That's very good. May I use that?" Jack asked curiously.
"I'm sure you will, anyway." Angelica said with a roll of her eyes and a small smile as she walked past him.
"Of course I will," Jack said as he began to follow her. "So, will you not give up this quest?" He asked as he looked at his own voodoo doll.
"I want a father, Jack. I haven't had one," She said as she looked at Jack.
"Angelica, your father, Blackbeard…he is evil, and he will kill you given the chance," Jack said as he walked over to be by Angelica once more.
"He's right you know? If it comes down to his life and your life, he'll choose his own. That is not what a father would do," Carmella said as she spoke her mind. Although she didn't like Angelica, she didn't want her to be misled by Blackbeard.
When her back was turned, she grabbed the voodoo doll of Jack, both Faye and Carmella noticed this and narrowed their eyes at her. "He cannot be saved," Jack said.
"And who are you to set the limits on redemption?" Angelica asked as she started to get angry.
"Oh for the love of…They're is a MAJOR difference when it comes to that. You can only help those who want to be saved, you can't do much for those who don't want to be saved. And I believe that Blackbeard is in the latter of the two. He even admitted himself that he's a bad man." Carmella started to rant as she was trying to not let her anger get out of hand.
Angelica just looked at her in denial. Instead of releasing her anger on Carmella, she turned her attention back onto Jack. "You stole years of my life, Jack. You owe me!"
"And you are en route to getting yourself killed," Jack said as he traveled his hands down her shoulders and towards her hands. "And I am not inclined to stand by and watch." Right before he was able to snag the voodoo doll out of her hands. A man out on deck started to shout and ring a bell.
"WHITECAP BAY!"
