(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
Working with the Autobots is great, but I didn't think I'd fall for the bot who hates most humans or that he likes me. Fast forward a year later, and we're now married — or, as they say, sparkmates. The others can't believe Mirage likes a human enough to marry one, and sometimes I find it hard to believe when I catch him being a jerk to other soldiers.

"I hear it's your birthday next week," Mirage says as we lay on the chaise in the lounge room.
"Oh, how pissed I'd be if you really just found out when my birthday is," I tease.
"I have plans for the weekend."
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Optimus says, "Mirage, you are needed for a mission with the terror twins."
"At least it's not the other twins, ugh."
"There goes your plan for my birthday," I sulk.
"You should be back in a few days," Optimus adds, "if the mission goes as planned."
It sucks Mirage has to leave right now.

I am not bored for long as there's a mission the next day for a team of soldiers to explore a hidden cave, and I can go. We are told the soldier who found the cave worries it's in a good location for the Decepticons to hide weapons.

Everything goes well for a good hour until we hear rumbling and rocks falling. Shit, we just found out the hard way cons aren't using this cave; this cave is unstable.

Epp's P.O.V.
Shit, there's no time to get out of here. Everyone tries to protect themselves from the falling rocks. A few soldiers, including (Y/N) scream. Damn it, we have injured soldiers now, and we're trapped. Everyone who is injured tells me it's their arm or leg — until I check on (Y/N). The fact she's lying on the ground isn't good.
"Don't touch me!" She cries.
This isn't good.
"I'm the only one not injured— aside from you, sir. I'm going to dig my way out and get help."
There may be a wall of rocks, or the entire cave caved in. I let the soldier dig for a while.

He finds out there's only a wall of rocks and rushes out of the cave to get a signal and call for help. The others are dealing with pain, but not as bad as (Y/N). She's broken more than an arm or leg. Not a good time for Mirage to be on a mission. Even if he's called before we return to base, it'll be a few hours before he returns.

Ironhide, Lennox, and Prime get here quickly along with the helicopter to take the wounded. (Y/N) is in so much pain and doesn't want to be touched.
"They need to get you out of here to help you,* Optimus tells her.
Damn, why haven't we equipped the medical helicopters with the fast-acting pain relief Jolt and Ratchet invented? Damn regulations. It hurts hearing (Y/N) scream from pain as she's put on the stretcher. At least she'll be pain-free by the time we get back.

Ratchet's P.O.V.
Most of the soldiers were lucky; a broken arm or leg. I hate hearing (Y/N) was in a lot of pain when Optimus got to them. At least she's comfortable while we help the others. Helping the other soldiers takes an hour. I hate (Y/N) is still crying, and she's scared about her injuries.
And no one is with her, damn.
"You'll be ok," I assure her.
I can see she has a serious break in her right arm. I hate she's panicking, which makes this harder.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" I ask, "you know we'll take care of you."
"Mirage told me we're going somewhere for my birthday, now I am hurt, and he'll probably say we're through," (Y/N) sobs.
"I don't know the full extent of your injuries yet, but it's clearly only broken bones. You know how many soldiers break bones and return to active duty. You know how much Mirage loves you."
I ripped her shirt off and see how red her chest is around her bra.
Scrap, she knows she broke a few ribs. I think that's what's really scaring her.

X-rays confirm three broken ribs and not in the way we can leave to heal on their own. I hate to add to why (Y/N) is upset, but I have to tell her. Jolt suggests getting Lennox and Prime first.
"I have to do surgery to repair three broken ribs and her collar bone," I explain, which makes (Y/N) cry more.
"Go Contact Mirage, now," Optimus orders Lennox, "you'll be ok and back on duty in a few months."
I'd like to wait for Mirage to return, but that'll take hours.

"What?! she's hurt. this can't be happening. Avrei dovuto essere lì per proteggerla!"
"Mirage, I know hearing she has broken bones isn't great, but you understand she could have been more seriously injured?" Lennox asks.
"Go, we can handle this," Sunstreaker tells him.
I transform and drive as fast as possible without getting into trouble with the law, hoping to be back before (Y/N) wakes up.
