Tracks is trapped in an alleyway, where three teens find him and want to damage him more than he is. A teen girl finds him and scares the boys off. She knows how to fix cars and fixes Tracks, who then takes her to meet the Autobots as he's worried about why she won't talk. In the end, the Autobots and (Y/N) become friends.
"Hey, look, a nice car in the middle of an alleyway," Tracks heard a boy say to his friends. What he didn't know was the teens were looking for cars to destroy. He already looked beaten up from a fight with A con an hour ago. He had planned to get back to the other Autobots and have Ratchet repair him, but he has two flat tires.
"Nice? Dude, it's a piece of junk," another boy comments.
"And we can make it unrepairable," a third boy suggests.
Scrap, I can't do anything to stop them either. Tracks frets.
The boys start by scratching his paint job and slashing the remaining two tires. They didn't know a girl was watching them until she knocks over a trash barrel.
"Shit, someone is here, run!"
The three boys run out of the alleyway. The girl runs towards tracks, looking at the damage.
What is this symbol? She questions seeing the Autobot insignia.
The girl knows how to fix cars, but she can't in the alleyway.
"(Y/N)? where are you?" A teen boy calls out before looking in the alleyway, "you always find broken cars. Ok, I'm not even going to ask. I'll be back with the truck."
Tracks finds himself in a garage within ten minutes.
"Ok, I'll be back later to see how things are going — unless you need help."
The girl nods, and the boy leaves.
Why isn't she saying anything? Tracks wonders. She can't be deaf, as the boy isn't doing sign language.
Tracks is amazed by how much the girl knows about repairing cars — but he becomes concerned as she looks under the hood at his Cybertronian components.
What the hell is all this? (Y/N) wonders, uncertain if the parts are broken or not. She buffs out the scratches and changes the tires.
Well, let's see if the car will start.
(Y/N) hot-wired the car pleased the car started. She drives out of the garage and down the street. The drive goes well until Tracks take over once they are close to the Autobot base. To (Y/N), she has no control of the car even though it's not driving out of control.
What the hell is going on?! (Y/N) panics.
"Uh, Tracks? You know you have a teen girl in the car?" An older man asks, "ma'am, I need you to step out of the car."
"(Y/N) does what the man wants as a teen boy rushes over with a chair
"You're going to want to sit," he advises.
The who trust Tracks knows what he's doing, showing who he is in front of this teen girl.
(Y/N) can't believe what she's seeing; the car is changing into a giant robot who can talk. She watches Tracks explain to the two men — Spike and Sparkplug — the situation.
"You terrified her to the point she won't talk," Spike worries.
"She doesn't talk; there was a teen boy who knows her. He wasn't using sign language, yet he was having a conversation with her," Tracks explains.
"Ah, she's mute," Sparkplug points out, "I suspect this person knows her well, and that's why they don't need to use sign language."
He goes into the base. Spike, Tracks, and (Y/N) look at each other.
"Ok, I'm sorry if this is not how you talk to new people, but please write a little about yourself," Sparkplug explains.
(Y/N) did as she's asked.
My name is (Y/N). I don't talk because (reason). I have no friends. That was my brother.
"Well, now you have friends," Tracks smiles, "come with me to meet the others. I need to have Ratchet take a look at me."
(Y/N) climbs onto Tracks' servo, a little nervous about meeting other giant robots.
(Y/N) feels a little better after meeting the other Autobots and learning about them. Tracks is assigned to be her guardian, which makes both (Y/N) and Tracks happy. Tracks would like to get (Y/N) talking again, but that's not too important to him.
