The Jackdaw had docked near a diving spot on the Caribbean Coast, off Great Inagua
"Ready the diving bell lads! We need to get these medicines as fast as we can to Thatch" Edward called out to the crew to lower the diving bell.
"Edward" Kassandra walked over towards Edward stopping him in his tracks
"What is it Kass?" He asked Kassandra
"Come to the cabin with me, I have something that might be of use to you" Kassandra motioned over for Edward to follow
Edward gave a quick glance towards Ade and Kidd who Shrugged
"Go ahead and see what it is" Ade said giving permission for the Captain to leave
Edward followed Kassandra into the Captain's cabin, as she made her way over to the gear and various weapons that were in the room.
She picked up a Golden trident, before passing it over to Edward.
"What is that?" He asked in confusion. "Why do I need a trident to dive?"
"First of all, there will be sharks under those waters. I know from diving myself, Every sea has its own sharks, you'll need a weapon to protect yourself from them and the trident will be useful"
Edward nodded understanding, Fair enough. Before Kassandra continued.
"Second of all, you will run out of breath. This trident will give you unlimited air so if you stray too far away from the diving bell you won't have to worry about drowning"
Edward picked up the trident spinning it around intrigued. "Thank you. This tool might just save the citizens of Nassau"
"You're welcome. You can keep it actually. I have no use for it anymore; it's just been sitting on the shelf collecting dust for years. It was sort of a gift from my Father and one of my ex husband's. I think it will have more use for you" Kassandra motioned towards Edward
"Are you sure Lass? It seems quite precious to you and I don't want to take it if that's the case" Edward looked towards Kassandra for confirmation
"Yes. I'm definitely sure. Put it to good use Edward" She said, coming up towards Edward and putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Alright" Edward nodded as he put the spear on a strap on his back before he started to strip ready for the dive.
Once he was ready, Edward came out of the cabin with Kassandra closely following behind.
"What is that?" One of the pirates pointed to Edward laughing
"Captain's got a trident with him" Another roared with laughter as the entire crew collapsed in laughter.
Kassandra frowned unimpressed at their jesting towards Edward and the attitude towards Poseidon's spear.
How dare they disrespect the Gods in front of her.
"Hush Lads, This spear will get us the medicine we need" Edward tried to shush his men to no avail
"I doubt it what will this little spear do" He laughed even harder
Kassandra fed up at the entire scene and the crew's attitude spoke up.
"This spear will protect your Captain while he's under water and keep him alive. It also belongs to the Great Poseidon you don't want to incure his wrath now do you?"
"Pftt and What will this 'Poseidon' do?" The pirate humphed in dismissal
That was until James Kidd spoke up.
"Poseidon, did you say? I read books about him growing up, the mighty Sea god from Greece. If I were you I would listen to Kass, Poseidon is not one to be messed with. He can get the sea to swallow you whole, if he wanted that is"
The pirate looked back at Kidd then to Kassandra in horror
"Christ no, that does sound scary" as the entire deck was filled in a tense silence
"Yes scary indeed, so I suggest you shut your mouth before the entire Jackdaw is swallowed up by him" Kidd snapped towards the pirate
Edward rolled his eyes at the entire scene, while Ade gave him an amused smirk.
"I guess I'm going in with no further objections to the trident then. I'll be back soon with the medicines. Won't be long. Look after the Jackdaw will you, Ade?" He announced to everyone before turning towards Ade
"Of course she will be in safe hands with us and we'll be right here Captain, as always" Ade nodded towards Edward
"Good Luck Edward" Kassandra said towards Edward
"Thanks Kass" he replied, diving off Starboard towards the wreck.
Author's Note: This Chapter was insipired by the diving missions and activities in Black Flag. After Playing Odyssey it took some getting used to that in the older AC games you can't carry a weapon with you and have limited breath. It made me miss Odysesey's mechanics and made me realise that I was taking it for granted. So at least the Edward in this Version has a weapon to kill those pesky sharks and won't have to worry about finding Holes to take a breather or finding Diving Barrells even when stuck in the middle of a shipwreck unable to get out.
