Author's Note: I thought I would write this chapter after playing the mission "Unmanned" When Kidd reveals himself as female. I thought Why not Let Kidd tell Kassandra about his secret in this universe seeing as they're both female pirate assassins. So here it is.

Nightfall had come and it was time for the crew to go back to quarters for the night.

The sea shone in a dark navy blue, matching the clear starry night. It was a calm night for once, not one besieged by rogue waves and thunder and Lightning.

"Do you Want to rest up for the night? Me and Ade can keep watch" Edward asked Kassandra

Kassandra turned towards Edward in Surprise "Are you sure Edward? I can keep watch too, I don't really need the sleep" she chuckled

"Yes. You've worked hard lass, you deserve some rest. We can manage just fine. James will show you to your quarters" Edward reassured Kassandra

"James!" Edward called out to Kidd who was walking around deck, checking the Jackdaw's rigging

"Yes?" Kidd called back to Edward

"Come here a moment, I don't really want to shout" Edward said

James walked towards Edward . "Yes Edward, What's the matter"

Edward explained to Kidd what the matter was. "I need you to show Kass her room, you know where it is" he said more softly

Kidd nodded understanding. "Alright Kass. Follow on"

Kassandra followed Kidd down the Jackdaw's stairs to a Corridor down below deck.

There were rows and rows of beds and hammocks, filled with sleeping pirates and the entire Jackdaw's crew.

Until at the end, close to the harpoon storage and heavy shot storage area was a very small room, with two beds, a small desk and an oil lamp, along with a door and hardly any space to move around the two.

"Here we are. This is the room the Captain assigned for you, far away from prying eyes and privacy. The Ladies Room. The Lads think it's the room full of Gunpowder and Fire barrels or so Kenway said and it's off limits. They believe him anyway. You'll be fine" Kidd explained and reassured Kassandra

"That's good. I'm glad Edward thought about that instead of just throwing me down there with the men, that's why I didn't sleep half the nights here and just offered to keep watch. Who knows what those thirsty pirates would do to a lady like me" Kassandra joked

"Aye. I see where you're coming from. You can never be too careful. But Kenway he's got a charm to him if you haven't noticed he's a ladies man" Kidd winked at Kassandra

"Yeah I have. I've seen him with the women at the brothels and at the tavern. Didn't take me long to figure out. I assume you're going back to the main hold with the other men aren't you?" Kassandra asked Kidd

Kidd hesitated before quickly looking around to make sure the other pirates weren't walking around. Once it was safe, he closed the door behind him.

"Actually Kass, I have something to show you. A secret" He started off

"Go on James, What is it?" Kassandra prompted Kidd to go on

James started to undress, slowly unbuttoning his shirt to reveal a tightly tied corset.

Kassandra watched on in shock as the corset was removed, revealing bare boobs.

"I'm not actually James. I'm a woman. My real name is Mary. Mary Read" she explained to Kassandra

Kassandra, still in shock and unable to speak, let Mary carry on talking.

Mary put her corset to one side, as she placed her shirt back on and sat on the bed, facing Kassandra once more.

"I thought I'd tell you, since your a woman as well"

"So you pretended to be the son of Captain Kidd when you really were a woman in disguise the entire time. Does Edward know?" Kassandra asked in surprise

"Aye. I did. My mum started dressing me as a boy since I could walk, so we could get some money from people. Then I joined the navy at 14, became a pirate at 17 and met Edward. Edward knows. That's why he gave me this room when he found out, to protect me from the other men"

"I see" Kassandra nodded understanding, the initial wave of shock gone.

"That's very nice of Edward to do that. Are you two close?" She asked curious

"We are. And between me and you, I actually have a crush on Edward. Being a man does partially hide it. Don't tell him I said that though, besides the man's married anyway. There's no chance"

Kassandra chuckled. "Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me, Mary. I'm just glad that I'm not the only female on board"

"Aye you're not. Female Pirates may be rare around these waters, but we do exist" Mary said punching Kass on the arm

"Yes they always have. I've been sailing around for many years. Even in Greece there were a few. My own Mother was one for a brief period" Kassandra said reminiscing on Myrinne and Xenia

"Really Wow?" Mary said surprised and intrigued. "I guess they're more open with women and piracy there"

"Yes. You could even join the army if you wanted to. Or become a mercenary. Women were allowed to do men's work and fight without a problem in Greece"

"They're lucky. Cos on this side of the globe, they don't like people like me. If I came out as Mary Read I'd be scorned and labelled scum of the earth. Hence Why James Kidd was created as an alias to facilitate my career"

"I know. I'm sorry Mary. But on the plus side, you really did look like a man. You had me there, I actually thought you were James Kidd, the bastard son of William Kidd" Kassandra jested trying to make the air lighter

"I did. I managed to trick Kenway for a good few years before I told him. Must of worked then I guess" Mary laughed out loud

"Yeah. Goodnight Mary" Kassandra said as she blew out the oil lamp beside them and readied herself for sleep

"Night Kass" Mary replied as she proceeded to sleep for the night as well.
