Ratchet falls for a human who was an experiment of Pharma. (Y/N) is a hybrid that can transform into a prediction. One day the two are assigned to a mission back to where it all started, and it turns out Pharma had plans to end it.
Warning: Death, sacrifice, blood

Ratchet didn't think he'd fall for a human. (Y/N) is mostly human, even if she was a victim of Pharma's experiments. The beautiful human can turn into a predacon though she resembles an Earth femme lion than a prediction; her strength and abilities are that of a Cybertronian predacon. Ratchet was with Drift and Tailgate when they first encountered Pharma. Though he was still sick with an illness Pharma made, Ratchet insisted on taking care of (Y/N), who at the time didn't seem to have the strength to survive the trip back to the Lost Light. No one knows why Pharma went to Earth, nor do they know if (Y/N) is the only human he took to experiment on.

It's been a challenging year helping (Y/N) recover. In that time, Ratchet and (Y/N) grew closer together. Ratchet helped (Y/N) as she realized what happened to her. She still can't believe what happened but tries to think she was given a gift to help the Autobots, since she can attack cybertronians and cause damage.

The two are not pleased to be recruited for a mission, returning to Delphi. Ultra Magnus is clearly pissed and already told both of them they should not refuse to go on the mission. Little does Magnus know that being at Delphi makes Ratchet so sick that he feels like he will puke.

As the team walks into the abandoned structure, Ratchet is already feeling sick.
"Are you ok?" (Y/N) asks as she sits on Ratchet's shoulder.
"I'm fine," Ratchet lied, hoping
"You know you can't lie to me."
(Y/N) jumps off Ratchet's shoulder and transforms. She's small enough to be carried like a pet cat. Drift watches Ratchet pick (Y/N) up worried but says nothing.

The team makes it to a lab in time to see something take shape. The next thing the team knows, there's an explosion.
"Shit, it's some kind of creature that can cause bombs, and with this place full of Energon!" Magnus alerts everyone, "everyone needs to get out now!"
(Y/N) watches the strange creature take shape into a Cybertronian smaller than Tailgate, but it's a glowing blue.
"Whatever it is, it's sentient," Ratchet observes as the creature attacks, blasting everyone once again. Everyone tries to get out, but the creature attacks Ratchet, blasting him to the wall and launching itself at him. (Y/N) gets in the way, stopping the creature. The creature grabs her, and all Ratchet can do is watch her struggle to get free. The Energon creature gets ready to blow. Ratchet tries to break (Y/N) free.
"Ratchet, get out of here!" She begs.
"No, I'm not leaving you to die. We'll die together if this is what's meant to happen."
The two hug as the creature explodes.

The others watch outside of the building for what feels like hours until they hear peds. They can't believe what they're seeing and hearing. No one can even joke about thinking Ratchet could actually cry as they see the human he loves dead in his servo. Blood going down his arm, mixing with the Energon from the injury on his arm.
He needs a moment alone, but he's seriously injured. Magnus dreads. How is he even still online?
"Perfect," the team hears Pharma, "that was my plan all along."
"You fragging—!" Ratchet yells.
"Drift and Cyclonus, take Ratchet and (Y/N)'s body to the ship. The rest of us will deal with him," Magnus orders.
Ratchet wants to fight Pharma, but he knows he's too injured and could lose (Y/N)'s body. He wants to give her a proper memorial if a funeral on Earth is out of the question.
"You planned this?!" Magnus rages.
"Yes, that was my experiment who betrayed me. Perhaps now the doctor will kill himself, taking two enemies out at once. Oh, I love it!" Pharma laughs. The team fights Pharma, not caring if they kill him, not even Magnus.

Ratchet holds (Y/N)'s body while First Aid cares for his injuries.
"You're not thinking about trying to bring her back, are you?" First Aid asks
"N-no, that's experimental and what he did to her. She's free from what he did to her."

Ratchet is allowed to have a funeral on Earth, with the crew using their holoforms. Magnus and Rodimus did their speeches, but Ratchet struggled to do his before the coffin is placed in the hole. The crew worries he'll never get over this, but who can blame him?
