Who would have thought Dreadwing would be friends with a human or take care of a baby?
Dreading and (Y/N) walk down the long street from town to the next time hours away. It's beautiful at night during a full moon. Dreadwing knows he's going to be in trouble if Megatron ever finds out about his (friend/ partner), but Dreadwing has come to (like/ love) this human that he'll protect them.
The walk is quiet until they hear what sounds like crying.
"Maybe your loud peds are scaring them, but if there's a lost child we need to help," (Y/N) insists, "we'll explain to them."
The two thought they'd see a human child at least six years of age, not a baby.
"Child or baby, this is sick. Few cars drive down this road during the day and at night..."
What troubles (Y/N) more is this is a newborn baby, born perhaps a few hours ago; left in a box wrapped in a blanket, "the bitch of a mother planned this!"
"I suggest you take the baby to the hospital," Dreadwing says.
"No, I'm not the parent, so they'll require me to hand the baby over to the police."
(Y/N) couldn't believe Dreadwing suggests having Ratchet examine the baby or that he agrees to take care of the baby.
"I'll wait for you at home," Dreadwing tells them.
Ratchet is puzzled how (Y/N) knew how to contact him and the story being told. What concerns him is that (Y/N) tells him no one is to know about the two meeting or the baby but claims they are not the baby's parent, nor is anyone after them or the baby.
"You realize you need to go to the police? How are you going to raise this baby while keeping them a secret? Sure homeschooling, but if we can't secretly meet when this little one needs a doctor?"
"I don't know; if I go to the police, then they'll say I have no right to take care of them since I'm not the parent or other family."
Ratchet lets (Y/N) leave though he doesn't agree with their plan.
Dreadwing rarely uses his holoform, but he wants to help take care of the baby. (Y/N) worries Megatron will find out. Dreadwing struggles to keep (Y/N) calm. He has his moment when the baby gives their caregivers a poop diaper to change.
"How the frag does a tiny human make such a stink?!" Dreadwing complains as (Y/N) laughs.
Dreadwing quickly learns a human baby is disgusting, but he also doesn't want to abandon the baby or (Y/N). He fears one day, he'll return to the Nemesis to be questioned by Megatron about how he keeps leaving for a few days and returning for three days max...
Everything goes well for two months until the day Dreadwing returns to the Nemesis and discovers Starscream killed his twin brother. Out of anger, he tries to kill Starscream, getting killed himself.
(Y/N) waited a week before realizing Dreadwing was killed. Though Ratchet isn't a friend, he's the only one who knows about the baby, and (Y/N) needed someone to help deal with the reality their (friend/ partner) is gone.
"I don't know if you have been a neutral or siding with the cons, but I don't want to leave you alone to take care of the baby or make you turn them in. Please come back to the Autobots with me," Ratchet insists.
(Y/N) had no interest in the war. They just liked Dreadwing. They agree to go with Ratchet.
Optimus Prime promises to protect (Y/N) and the baby, uncertain if Megatron is trying to find them. Everyone does their best to be supportive while (Y/N) deals with the loss of their (friend/partner).
"Even if we haven't adopted the baby yet, I'm already not liking they'll never get to know you."
