Hello my dear readers! It has been a long time since the last update I made for I Belong to You (Dec 29, 2021 to be exact). I was quite busy with college and my job. Additionally, I lost all inspiration to keep writing this story after the show finished. I promise I will continue this baby, I don't like unfinished stories, but be patient.
As always, I don't own A Song of Ice and Fire books and Game of Thrones TV show, except for my OC. And my apologies in advance for the typos, English is my Second (Foreign) Language, Spanish is my first.
Enjoy the Prologue III!
Prologue III
The musicians began to play The Rains of Castemere, and Edwyn Frey hurried up to the door to close it. I had a bad feeling since Walder Frey agreed on wed my Uncle Edmure with one of his daughters, Roslin Frey, grown more.
Something terrible is going to happen…
Lord Walder raised a hand, and the music stopped. "Your Grace," my brother turns to Walder Frey's call. "I feel I've been remiss in my duties. I've given you meat and wine and music, but I haven't shown you the hospitality you deserve." He smiled at him. Something in his smile doesn't fit… he was lying… "My King has married and I owe my wedding gift."
A smack sounded in the hall. "Robb!" my mother cried.
Someone shoved me aside, two men were coming towards me and I evade them before they could grab me. Then I understood what happened when I saw it. Bolts were raining from the balcony, daggers piercing the skins of my brother's men, blood and men falling…
When I saw one of the Freys getting close to me, I grabbed my hidden dagger from my calf, and I thrust it into his body. Suddenly, a sharp and burning pain was in my right shoulder blade. I saw the sharp pointy end of the bolt protruding from the other side of my shoulder and chest.
I ducked under one of the tables to protect myself from the bolts. I saw my brother's men fell one by one. Roose Bolton said, "Jaime Lannister sends his regards," as he stabbed my brother. Several other men then bolt Robb. I saw how my mother receive a bolt as well, but she continued to defend herself. I saw the Lord of the Crossing sat on his carved oaken throne, watching greedily.
Madness and wrath filled me. I got out from the table and ran to the dead old man.
As I approached his table, another sharp and burning pain in my lower left back caused me to fall to the floor, dropping the dagger from my hands.
"Mercy!" I heard my mother cried, but I could hear the slaughter still.
"YOU STUPID! DON'T KILL LYLIAN LANNISTER!" I heard the old greedy man screaming at his family furious. In that moment, everything stopped, blood and death was in the air.
We are going to die…
Jaime…
"Take Lady Lylian to the Maester!" Ordered that old man I wanted to kill.
"NO! GET OFF ME! NO!" I screamed and fought with the men who were taking me away. "MOTHER! NO! ROBB!" I cried for my mother and brother when I was at the doors of the hall. "Knock her down!" one of the men said.
I spit at one of the men and I received a hit on my face, and everything went black.
I could hear screams, swords clashing, the howl of a wolf… everybody were dying…
I can't fall asleep, I can't die…
My mother… Robb… They are dead…
Jaime Lannister sends his regards…
Get up, Lylian Lannister…
I can't… I'm dead…
Get up… Get up… Get up…
GET UP!
Suddenly, I found myself in what looked like the Seven Hells. Screams, swords clashing, a bloodbath, fire, pavilions and tents being burnt…
Everything looked as if I had been truly transported to the Seven Hells. Then, some unintelligible screams caught my attention.
I saw men surrounding a strange shape mounted on a horse. They were laughing and screaming hysterically. But one phrase made my blood run cold. "THE KING IN THE NORTH!" Then I saw better the strange shape. It was the body of a man, with several bolts in his body, and his head has the shape of a wolf. It was Grey Wind's head.
Robb…
I looked down, trying to avoid the horrendous image from this hellish nightmare I was in. I felt enraged and scared, wishing to end this nightmare. But then, when I looked at myself, I saw bloodstains on my arms and dress. I also had a sword in my left hand, which was also stained with blood.
Am I in the Seven Hells? Am I having a nightmare?
Get out of there… You are not dreaming Lylian Lannister…
I knew I wasn't dreaming when I heard voices behind me. "GRAB HER! Don't let her escape! Don't kill Lylian Lannister!"
I need to escape from here…
I ran as fast as I could to escape, to save my life from the Freys. I did my best to avoid or slash with my sword using my left hand against anyone who got in my way. It was uncomfortable to use my left hand, but I was willing to do whatever it took to keep my life.
When I found a horse, I jumped above the animal and keep running with the horse. Far from the slaughter, far from The Twins.
Screams and the sound of galloping horses were behind me. The pain in my back, chest, and belly burned like fire. My whole body ached, and with every galloping horse, I felt weaker and weaker. But I held on to the pain and kept going.
Fuck… I wish I could fly…
Mother… Robb… All dead in front of my eyes while Walder Frey watched the massacre…
I knew he wasn't trustworthy person, but my brother was blind by love for his Jeyne…
Love blinded Robb, the same with Mother… And Jaime… Why is he keeping hurting me? Love blinds me too…
North, South… no matter where I was going, I need to escape from the Freys. They are going to kill me… they want my head for killing some of their family and men…
My sight blurred, and my grip on the reins weakened. I felt unstable in the saddle. One of my sides hit the ground hard, and everything spun. When I stopped rolling, my horse was gone.
"Shit…" I complained because of the fall.
Men calling me and horses were coming closer. I need to keep going… I need to live…
As the best I could, I ran and ran inside the forest, the fast as my body let me… But my legs were getting weaker and I was getting tired so fast.
"There she is!" I've heard behind me.
You need to live… You have to Lylian…
I stopped when I found the swollen Green Fork, growling out loud.
"Lady Lylian…!"
"Old Gods and New… give me courage and protect me of everything." I whispered at the shores of the Green Fork.
"STOP HER! WE NEED HER ALIVE!"
That was the last thing I've heard before jumping to the wild river of the Green Fork.
The force of the river was taking me to an unknown place. I couldn't see anything, but I could hear its roar. I began to swallow mud and water, but I was doing my best to breathe air.
Everything stopped with a hit on my head.
