Alright, readers. It took me a while to write this, but I finally put together the sixth chapter of this story!
Now, I have nothing much to say here, although there is some stuff that I will reveal at the end. But for this chapter, we pick up from where chapter 5 left off, focus on Adam at his home, showing him writing in that journal, and a few other things. How will this all go? Find out now, readers!
AT CHARLES DARWIN MIDDLE SCHOOL - 2:45 P.M:
It was eventually the end of another school day. And by the looks of it, all of the animal students were looking forward to going back home to the zoo, aside from those that had made some plans beforehand.
As for the faculty and staff, they were looking forward to handling any last-minute paperwork that needs to be done, and then go on home and doing whatever they were planning to do afterwards.
However, none of them was more willing to get home than Adam, who by this point was worn out, especially after what had occurred in Nurse Gazelles' office. He had wanted to forget the whole experience, and hope that it won't ever happen again.
Man. Thank goodness that the school day is over. Adam thought with some relief. I 'really' want to forget about what had happened with Nurse Gazelle, and also ease up after the terrible experience I was put through in gym class. I should probably write all of my frustrations about today in my new journal.
As Adam was thinking of that, he was heading straight for his locker. He had nothing else in mind, as he just wanted to get home. By the time he was in front of his locker, he proceeded to open it. And right as he grabbed his backpack, he heard the voice of Jake calling out to him.
"HEY ADAM!" His voice was loud and clear as Adam sighed.
"Oh great. Here we go again," he mumbled under his breath as he then turned around to see Jake right behind him.
He also noticed that accompanying the spider monkey was Windsor, Slips, Lupe, and Ingrid. This got Adam a little curious as he took his back out of the locker and closed it shortly afterwards.
"Oh, hey guys. What's up?" Adam asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh we were just wondering how things went for you with Nurse Gazelle," Jake shared with him. "How did that turn out?"
"What do you think?" Adam frowned with a retort. "In any case, I'd rather not talk about what happened with my visit to Nurse Gazelles' office."
"Why? What's the worst thing that could've happened to you in Nurse Gazelle's office?" Jake wondered. "Give you a check-up?"
Or a physical... Adam thought while rolling his eyes before saying. "Look, she just checked me out to see my injuries. So let's just leave it at that."
"Eh, you're 'absolutely' right. It was likely nothing," Jake decided to brush off. "You will probably feel better come tomorrow morning anyway."
"More than likely," Adam said lowly. "That is, unless I have to see Nurse Gazelle again after another accident I could get into."
"Ah, don't worry Adam," Ingrid assured. "Unless Nurse Gazelle is being fresh with you, I wouldn't get too upset about it."
"Frankly, I would be more concerned about what else may have been lurking around in the nurse's office with Adam in there," Windsor decided to share his theory. "I suspect that the nurse has some sort of a protuberant fascination for our young human Lyon here, to the point where she gets that amorous gaze in her eye when she watches him."
"Wait a sec, Windsor my man. Are you trying to say that Nurse Gazelle might be fond of Adam," Slips had to ask. "And that she's got the hots for him?"
"That's precisely what I'm saying Slips," Windsor nodded, which got Adam to cringe. "In other words, Adam here happens to be the apple of Nurse Gazelle's eye."
Gross... Adam looked like he wanted to throw up right on the spot.
"Ick! Do you even know just how bruta that sounds right about now," Lupe had to yell in distaste. "I can't possibly imagine seeing our nurse who is an adult having a crush and lusting over a male student who's still a kid! Let alone one that happens to be a human!"
"You said it sister," Ingrid agreed abruptly with a forced tone, as it looked like she was gritting her teeth under her mouth in slight jealousy. "It would be wrong for an adult female gazelle to have feelings for Adam Lyon here."
"Yeah, dudes," Slips had to comment. "Just thinking about it is enough to make me hurl."
"Well I kinda like it," Jake disagreed. "I think it's swell to know that Nurse Gazelle has a thing for Adam here. 'In fact', I like how Adam is real swell with the chicas."
"Don't even joke about that, Jake," Adam told him.
"Who said I was joking?" Jake shrugged. "You managed to get the Pretties to follow you and be into you."
"That was by accident. I didn't even intend for them to be interested in me when I did that mating dance," Adam defended. "In any case, I don't have the hots for any of the females at this school."
'In fact', the only woman I have eyes for is Kerry. Adam thought, keeping that to himself.
"Nonsense Adam. Anyone could be a lady's man if they try hard enough," Jake proclaimed.
"Well not me," Adam frowned. "I don't think I have what it takes to be a lady's man."
"I have to concur with that," Windsor remarked. "It's a known fact that not everyone can be seen as the alpha male amongst the female population."
"But if it was possible, I would say that it would be a wicked awesome thing, dude," Slips decided to share with them. "Having all the chicks hanging out with you would be far out if you know what I mean."
"Ah, so what?!" Jake hollered. "I think Adam would look great with every female at this school."
"No I wouldn't," Adam objected, scowling at Jake. "Don't even think about that Jake!"
"Oh come on! It'll be a blast!" Jake proclaimed. "You'll see!"
"Forget it," Adam shook his head. "There's no way that's happening."
"Oh, you know something? You never seem to want to have any fun of the sort," Jake complained.
"If by that, you mean I don't want every female at this school to be into me, then yes. I don't," Adam retorted, furrowing his eyebrows. "I don't want to be humiliated at this school again just because I'm supposedly in love with the females at this school, which isn't true in the slightest."
"Sure you don't, Adam," Jake didn't believe him. "Just like all those newspapers that have been written about you and how you are so madly in love with every female teacher at this school."
"You were the one who wrote those lies about me, Jake," Adam pointed out in aggravation while gritting his teeth. "AND you also revealed that on the news channel being broadcasted on the school's TV."
"Keep telling yourself that," Jake brushed off. "Everyone here knows the truth about you and all that stuff."
"You know what? I'm done talking about this. That stuff isn't true, and that's that! End of the discussion," Adam was in no mood to deal with this. "I'm going home now. I don't want this to be brought up with me anymore, okay? Goodbye."
With that, Adam let out a huff before turning around and marching away from them, and exiting the school building, leaving the pack a little stunned by what he said.
After a few moments of silence, Windsor was the first to comment in response.
"I suspect Adam is still feeling a bit distraught by the chain of events that he had to endure during that one instant," he told them.
"Oh come on. He's just been feeling like some kind of cranky pants," Jake retorted. "I'm pretty sure he'll feel better come tomorrow morning."
"Uh, I wouldn't be sure about that Jake," Slips commented. "He sounded a little mad about that incident, man."
"Sí. And I have seen Adam angry before," Lupe agreed.
"Ah, why are we even worried about him being a little angry," Jake protested. "He's been like this before, and he's had those human phases that I've heard about. So there's no reason why he should stay angry at his best friend. Along with you guys."
"Well Jake, maybe it's the fact that he has trouble fitting in with the rest of us, you know," Ingrid pointed out sheepishly. "I-I mean, after all, he is the only human who attends CDMS and has been left out of the loop in alot of things around here. So maybe we should give him time to cool down."
"But he's been in our school for quite some time now," Jake yelled. "Surely he should feel like he fits in with us by now, right?!"
"Certainly doesn't seem like it," Windsor proclaimed. "Judging by how Adam has been falling behind the rest of us in terms of the way things are run around here, I suspect that he would justifiably feel down in the dumps with being stuck in this school."
"So let's make him feel more like he belongs at this school," Jake suggested.
"How Jake? None of us are humans like Adam is," Slips pointed out. "And I don't have any arms or legs dude!"
"Nor do we have the capacity to act and behave like humans!" Lupe shouted.
"So why act like humans when we can make Adam act more like us," Jake remarked confidentially.
"What are you saying, Jake?" Ingrid was a little confused.
"I'm glad you asked Ingrid," Jake smiled. "It just so happens that I have a plan."
"And what is this plan?" Slips queried, raising an eyebrow.
"Well Slips, I'd rather not say," Jake told him. "But let's just say that it involves getting him caught in the middle of this prank that I came up with."
"Uh, I think that might be a bad idea," Windsor warned him.
"Why's that?" Jake raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know if you've noticed, but Adam hasn't been in the best of moods lately," Windsor elaborated. "Frankly, having been caught up in what took place over the weekend, not to mention every other time he's come to this school, he always becomes the butt of the jokes, in some shape or form."
"Oh, don't you see Windsor? This is exactly why I need to do this," Jake said. "It'll make him feel more at home with the rest of us."
"Jake, you must be loco if you think this plan of yours is gonna work," Lupe snorted. "We don't want to drive our human amigo off the edge!"
"Yeah, dude. Why don't we just let it be and chill?" Slips suggested.
"What they said," Ingrid added in agreement. "I think maybe we should cut Adam some slack and let him get by this school without anything going 'horribly' wrong for him, because of us."
"Oh come on, you guys!" Jake screeched. "We want to help Adam out by feeling like an animal! HE'S MY BEST FRIEND!"
"And somehow, you have this rather disturbingly creepy obsession over him," Windsor deadpanned. "Sorry Jake, but we shouldn't get involved this time."
Slips, Lupe, and Ingrid all commented in agreement with what Windsor just said, which got Jake agitated.
"Alright, that's it!" Jake howled. "Some friends you guys turned out to be. Well, if none of you are going to help me with this, I'll just do it myself! It'll be the best prank Adam would ever receive! YOU'LL SEE!"
After glowering at the rest of the pack, Jake ran off and left the school, hoping to put together the prank that he has planned for Adam.
As soon as he was out of earshot, the others decided to comment on this.
"Uh, should we maybe warn Adam about this or something?" Slips questioned.
"I don't that would be necessary, Slips," Windsor advised him. "Jake has yet to learn anything about how all of this has been affecting Adam, and how it's been testing his patience to the limit. So, I think we should go and let him go through with this prank. Then he'll learn the hard way about how our friend Adam is at the end of his rope."
"You know, Jake is the kind of guy who is loco enough in the head to try to pull something like this off," Lupe exclaimed. "So I suggest we let him see why it's a bad idea for himself."
"I'm seriously not comfortable with seeing Adam suffering like he usually does," Ingrid admitted sadly. "B-But I guess...if it's to get Jake to open his eyes and realize how much he's been hurting, I...I'm willing to make this an exception."
"Well, okay. If you say so," Slips said slowly. "I just have to wonder how Adam is going to react about all of this, man."
"Believe me Slips, we all feel that way," Windsor had to admit. "We'll just have to see it unravel for ourselves."
"Sure, dude." "Great idea!" "I-I guess that's good."
"Good," Windsor nodded after his three comrades made their comments. "Now, what do you say we head back home to the zoo aquarium?"
All three of them nodded as they decided to take their leave from the school. They could only imagine how things will turn out when Adam falls victim to Jake's so-called prank for himself. They knew that it wouldn't turn out well, and it would probably be messy too. But all they could do for now was wait and see how all of this will unravel from here. That was a guarantee...
AT ADAM'S HOME - 4:48 P.M:
Quite some time had passed since then. And currently, Adam was back at his house, all alone, since his parents weren't home. He had managed to get all of the homework that he needed to do completed and such. Today was pretty rough for him, mainly in gym class, especially with what happened with Nurse Gazelle. So he needed to do as much relaxing as possible.
Aside from that, he decided to write in his journal exactly what he had gone through today, in addition to some other personal stuff, such as how he's been frustrated with the school, and how Jake his so-called best friend keeps throwing him under the bus.
Currently, he was at the dining room table with a pencil in his right hand and his journal notebook wide open. He had already written quite a bit in the journal about his feelings about going to an all-animal school, how he was mistreated there by the students, and his strained friendship with Jake.
Now he was writing exactly what he went through at school today; specifically during gym class and what happened in Nurse Gazelle's office. By the time he was done, this was what he wrote about what happened today, in particular:
Well, it seems like today was just like any other day at CDMS. And by that, I mean I fall behind in an activity that I know nothing about, while the rest of my animal peers do.
In gym class, we had to chase a red dot that was coming from a laser pointer. And like everything else, I fell behind the rest of the class. And as a result of trying to swing from vine to vine, I fell onto the ground, where Henry Armadillo landed on me. Then Bull Sharkowski plowed both of us towards the ceiling, where we fell through the basketball hoop. Only I got stuck in the net, and to my worst luck, my weight caused the net to snap, and I fell onto my back, in so much pain.
And if that wasn't enough, I had to stop by Nurse Gazelle's office for her to check out and treat my injuries. Unfortunately, the nurse gave me a physical instead while I was wearing nothing by my undies. She shoved a thermometer in my ear, used an ear check light in my mouth, and used a hammer to see my reflexes, causing me to punch myself in the face, twice. And if that wasn't enough, she shoved a thermometer up my butt. And before that, she took her hooves and...well, she did something that I'm ashamed of having happened to me, and it shamed my manhood too... I don't want to write about that.
Oh, and to top it off, Jake thinks that it's great that Nurse Gazelle has feelings for me, but I think it sounds gross. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised, because it was Jake who spread lies about me being in love with every female teacher at CDMS. Sometimes I wonder why I'm even friends with Jake since he constantly screws me over, even though it had something to do with being the only human at that school. Sometimes I wish I could go back to my human school because of all the humiliation that I suffer at CDMS.
Well, I just hope tomorrow will be a better day for me. Of course, that's wishful thinking, since that'll probably never happen to me at that school. But it's just something for me to hold onto. Anyway, that just about does it for my journal today. I'll be sure to write down some more tomorrow, depending on what happens to me then.
- Adam Lyon
Adam then decided to look over the journal entry he wrote today a couple more times. Once he was satisfied with what he wrote, he closed up the book and sighed.
"Well, I'm sure glad that I managed to write some stuff in this journal," Adam smiled. "It helps with getting some stuff off of my chest."
Adam then put the book to the side and placed his pencil right on top of it. He then started to think about what he should do next. It was then the doorbell rang, followed by a knock at the door. Adam was a little curious. He didn't know who could be knocking at his door at this hour.
"Huh. I wonder who that could be," Adam wondered. "I'm not expecting anybody..."
Nonetheless, Adam shrugged and approached the door to see who it was. As soon as he was in front of the door, he opened it.
Upon opening it, however, he saw that his visitor was none other, than Kerry; something that left him surprised as he wasn't expecting her over.
"Hey Adam," she greeted him.
"Oh. Hiya Kerry," Adam greeted back shyly. "I didn't expect to see you stop by."
"I bet," Kerry said in understanding. "'Actually', I just stopped by to see how you were doing."
"Well, I could be doing better," Adam admitted.
"Another hard day at school?" Kerry took a guess.
"I guess you can say that," Adam remarked. "Things started getting hard for me towards the end of the day, mainly after lunch."
"I see," Kerry shifted her feet as she gazed at him. "So uh, mind if I come in?"
"Oh, sure. Sure Kerry," Adam told her. "Come on in."
"Thank you," she thanked him as he closed the door afterwards.
"Anytime," he walked away from the door as he and Kerry entered the dining room.
"So anyway Adam," Kerry started to ask. "What did happen at school today? During the first half of it that is, before lunch."
"Oh, you know. The usual stuff and lessons that I had to listen to in several classes. All of which involved something that animals will have to adapt to when they're adults," Adam had to explain to her. "I did see a counselor before lunch though, and I had gotten a lot off of my chest."
"Really," Kerry raised the eyebrow that was over her visible eye. "What did the counselor suggest?"
"I was suggested to write my thoughts and feelings about CDMS and Jake in general in a journal," Adam walked over to his journal. "This is the journal. I uh...I've been writing in it sometime before you stopped by."
"Wow," she was interested. "Mind if I take a look for a second?"
"Uhhh..." Adam was a little hesitant with doing so, seeing that it was his private journal.
"Come on Adam. You can trust me," Kerry insisted, placing her hands on her hips. "Whatever you wrote in your journal, I won't judge you for it. And I promise to keep what you wrote a secret, just between the two of us. Okay?"
"Oh, okay Kerry," Adam sighed as he held out his journal. "As long as your telling the truth when you say that."
"Don't worry. My lips will be sealed," Kerry took the book from his hand, opened it to the first page, and started reading it as she walked into the living room, with Adam trailing behind her.
As soon as she plopped on the couch, she read more of what he wrote at the beginning, up until she got to today's entry. She then stopped for a moment to face Adam, who walked over and sat next to her.
"Well Adam, what you wrote here is pretty consistent with what you shared with me yesterday," Kerry nodded. "Your time at the animal school has been giving you a hard time, and Jake has been acting like a bad friend to you."
"Yeah," Adam was a little flustered. "I had alot to complain about, so that's why I wrote so much there."
"That's fine. Now let's read today's entry," Kerry looked back towards the open journal and read the entry from today, and was a bit perplexed by what she read about what Adam did in gym class. "Uhhh, Adam? Am I reading this correctly? Did you write how in gym class today, you guys had to chase after a red dot that was coming from a laser pointer? The same kind of laser pointer people use to play with their cats?"
"Yes, Kerry. That's what we did today," Adam looked embarrassed as he nodded. "I just couldn't keep up with the others. I nearly fell into a hole on the bleachers, had trouble staying on the vine, and I 'actually' missed one of them, to the point where I fell onto the ground."
"Yeah," Kerry tugged on her ponytail and collar. "It also says that Henry Armadillo fell on you, you two got plowed and sent flying towards the ceiling by Bull Sharkowski, and then both of you fell into the basketball hoop. And you sustained the most damage since your weight snapped the hoop net apart."
"Uh huh," Adam nodded slowly. "It was so bad that I had to be sent to the nurse's office to have my wounds treated."
"Right," she said. "And this Nurse Gazelle gave you a physical before treating your wounds. And had you in only your underwear to do it."
"Yup," Adam squeaked, sweating and quivering slightly.
"And let me get this straight," Kerry decided to bring it up. "You wrote that Nurse Gazelle went and stuck a thermometer in your ear, checked your mouth with an ear checker light, used a hammer to check your reflexes, resulting in you punching yourself in the face twice, and she stuck a thermometer up your butt. Is all of that true?"
"All of it is true," he frowned. "And I am not too happy about it either."
"And you wrote that she did something else to you. What was it?" Kerry queried with slight concern.
"Uhhh, I-I'd rather not talk about it," Adam stuttered. "Let's just say that what she did had managed to shame and expose my manhood. Let's just leave it at that."
"Oh. Right. Of course," Kerry seemed a bit uncomfortable about what her best friend was implying to her. "I won't bring it up further if you don't want to."
"Great. Thanks, Kerry," Adam felt a bit more relieved by that. "I'm glad that you understand."
"Think nothing of it. We're 'really' close Adam," Kerry admitted. "And besides, it seems that Jake won't give it a rest on the fact that he thinks Nurse Gazelle having the hots for you is wonderful."
"Yeah. I don't like that at all," Adam gulped.
"Me neither," Kerry agreed with him as she furrowed her visible eyebrow before she thought to herself.
Especially since you deserve to be with someone close to your age, who's also a human, and is willing to respect your privacy.
The tan-colored girl felt a blush on her cheeks from having that thought, wondering how it would be if she could be with Adam. She immediately shook that thought out of your head, and decided to get back on track.
"But that's beside the point Adam," she cleared her throat. "What I'm saying is that you deserve better than having to be treated like this by the animals who go to that school."
"You're telling me," he admitted. "It would be one thing if everyone wasn't always putting me down all the time because I'm the only human there. But that's what happens to me every day at that school."
"Yeah," she said slowly as she closed his journal. "You know Adam, there's something else that I've been meaning to ask you now that it's on my mind."
"Oh? What would that be Kerry?" Adam raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Well Adam, if you were given the chance for it, and things properly fell into place, would you love nothing more than to go back to Chester Arthur?" Kerry asked. "Where not only would you not be at risk of being killed or eaten, but you'd also be able to spend time with me at school again."
Adam looked like he was going to say yes, and that he'd love nothing more than for that to happen. However, he was unable to say anything right away. Truth be told, he didn't know if life at his old school would be better than it is at CDMS. Plus, there would be a chance that Principal Pixiefrog would forbid it unless he wants to lose the extra student funding that he's getting from his presence there.
Not to mention with his luck, nothing good would fall into place, and he would probably be imprisoned at CDMS for the rest of his middle school life. Then he'd go to the animal high school, and from there, animal college, and up to the point where he'd have no official success with his life. Just thinking about that made Adam sad and doubtful. He sighed as a result.
"I...I dunno Kerry," he finally said shyly. "It's...It's just complicated."
"Well Adam, it's entirely up to you," Kerry assured him. "It's your choice. But I would love to be able to stay friends with you and not have you killed by any of the animals at your school."
"Uh, look, Kerry, I appreciate the concern that you have towards me," Adam told her. "But knowing my luck, getting sent back to my old human school will probably never happen. Whether it's school funding issues, or the school board refusing the fix the clerical error, or Jake doing something to foul everything up, I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to CAMS."
"Oh. I see," she said slowly as she shifted her gaze from him for about a second. "Well, whatever you decide on, I hope things get better for you. And remember, I'm still here to talk with you if you need to get anything else off of your chest."
"Thanks, Kerry. I hope things get better for me too," he thanked her. "And I appreciate you being here for me, especially when I need the emotional support."
"Anytime. That's what I'm here for," she smiled warmly.
"Yeah. I know," Adam sighed happily before asking. "So, now what?"
"I was going to ask you that," Kerry wondered. "What do you want to do now?"
"I don't know," Adam told her. "I already finished all my homework, and I had written everything that I wanted to write in my journal. So I was thinking of just unwinding for the remainder of the day."
"Great idea. Maybe we can unwind together," Kerry gave her suggestion. "You know, just the two of us again."
"Oh, sure. That'd be great Kerry," Adam seemed all for it. "Uh, anything you'd like to do with me?"
"Not really. We spent a good amount of time reading comic books and stuff yesterday," Kerry mused before coming up with an idea. "How about we just watch some TV this time?"
"I'd love that," Adam beamed. "It's almost time for me to cook some dinner. Uhhh, do you want anything?"
"Lemme guess," Kerry smirked as she rubbed her chin. "You have those frozen precooked meals for dinner."
"Of course," he nodded. "Since my parents are always at work around this time, they don't have time to cook. So we just settle on the precooked frozen stuff that we nuke up in the oven."
"That's nice Adam," she admitted. "I don't think my parents would mind if I eat over for dinner. They're at work. So of course, I'll love to have whatever you're having."
"Alright Kerry," Adam got up and headed for the kitchen. "I'll see what we can have for dinner, and you can turn on the TV for the two of us."
"Sounds like a game plan to me," Kerry grabbed the remote as she watched Adam walk into the kitchen. "Let me know what you got, alright?!"
"Sure thing," with that, Adam opened up the freezer to see what he had for dinner.
He looked through and he saw that there were a couple of options. One of them was lasagna dinners. Another one was a simple mac and cheese dinner. There was also a meatloaf and mashed potatoes dinner, as well as a turkey-sliced dinner. There happened to be several boxes of those kinds of frozen dinners. He didn't know which one Kerry would like to have.
"Hey, Kerry," he hollered. "We have several frozen dinners in here! We have lasagna, mac and cheese, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and sliced turkey! Any idea which one you'll like best!?"
"Well, I dunno! They all look great!" Kerry hollered back from the living room as she did some thinking. "You know what?! I wouldn't mind having one of those mac and cheese dinners if that's alright!"
"That works great," Adam hollered as he smiled. "I think I'm gonna have that two. Okay, I'll make two mac and cheese dinners for both of us!"
"Awesome! Thanks again, Adam!"
"It's my pleasure, Kerry!"
With that said Adam took out two mac and cheese dinners from the freezer and decided to follow the instructions as provided. He decided to preheat the oven to 375 degrees for it. He then got out a baking sheet, put some aluminum foil on it, and placed both frozen dishes on top. He then removed the plastic and covered it with more foil.
As soon as the oven was preheated, he put the baking sheet with both frozen dinners into the oven and set it for a designated period, which was at least a good 40 to 60 minutes. After he set the timer, he then went into the fridge and got out two cans of root beer, and he then went back into the living room.
Meanwhile, Kerry had set the TV to a channel showing a documentary of some kind when Adam walked back over to the couch.
"Hey Kerry, I got you a root beer," Adam held out one of the cans to her.
"Oh. Thank you, Adam," she gladly took it and opened it up. "So you got dinner going?"
"Sure thing," Adam opened up his can of root beer and plopped onto the couch right next to Kerry. "It's going to take at least 50 minutes to cook, but we're in no rush."
"You're right about that," Kerry smiled. "Why don't we watch some TV together while we're waiting Adam? What do you say?"
"You betcha Kerry," Adam scooted closer to Kerry as they gulped down some root beer. "This is going to be another fun fabulous night."
"Heh heh heh. You can say that again," Kerry chuckled with a smirk as the two of them said nothing else as they watched some TV for a bit. It was clear that the two of them were going to have another one heck of a night together.
It had taken at least a little over an hour for the mac and cheese dinners to be finished finally. Once he was sure they were done, Adam got out a couple of spoons, took both mac and cheese trays off of the baking sheet, and stuck a spoon in both of them. As soon as he made sure they were cooled off enough, he took both trays and went back into the living room.
Kerry then saw Adam with their dinner in both hands as he placed both trays on the table in front of the couch; right where Adam and Kerry were gonna eat.
"Alright Kerry, dinner is served," Adam announced.
"Why thank you, Adam," Kerry smiled. "This was 'really' nice of you."
"It was my pleasure," Adam nodded as he sat back down next to Kerry. She grabbed the tray that was meant for her, took the spoon, and took a mouthful of mac and cheese.
"Wow. This is delicious," Kerry complimented. "You are seriously good at cooking. You know that, right?"
"Ah, well, it was nothing," Adam rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I was just happy to cook for you."
"And I appreciate the effort you went to just to do this for me," Kerry told him. "Well, let's dig in."
"You said it," Adam grabbed his tray of mac and cheese, took his spoon, and dug in along with Kerry.
"Say, Adam, since you went and cooked dinner for us, what do you say that I help clean up after we're finished eating," Kerry offered.
"Oh boy, that would be wonderful," Adam sounded delighted when she offered to help him out with cleaning. "Thanks a bunch, Kerry."
"It's my pleasure," Kerry took another bite of mac and cheese as they continued eating, not saying anything else until they were finished. However, this thought did cross Adam's mind.
This is so great! It's like I'm having a dinner date night at my house with Kerry! Adam thought excitedly. This couldn't be any better for both of us!
He kept that to himself as he kept eating with Kerry.
Once they were done eating, they decide to get things cleaned up from dinner. Adam didn't require Kerry to help him, but something inside of him was glad that she was, considering how she was being so nice to him, and nothing was going wrong for him. After they cleaned up from dinner, they decided to watch some more TV for a while longer. Needless to say, the two of them were having the time of their lives...
LATER THAT NIGHT - AT 8:00 P.M:
Eventually, it was about time for Kerry to head back home as it was a school night. Adam was glad to have had her over, but he understood why she had to go home.
"Well Adam, this was another terrific night that we spent together," Kerry smiled as she opened the door. "I'm glad that we're finally spending some quality time together."
"Me too, Kerry," Adam smiled in return as she walked out. "I hope to see you tomorrow!"
"Same here!" Kerry called out to him as she walked away from the house. "Have a goodnight, Adam!"
"You have a goodnight too, Kerry!" Adam yelled back as he watched her head back to her house. He waved to her until she was out of sight.
Once she had gone back into her own house, Adam let out a happy sigh and walked into his house, and closed the door behind him, as he kept that happy, goofy grin on his face. He hoped that he could keep spending these days with her.
Gosh, Kerry is such a great girl. She's always a lot of fun to hang around with. I wonder if I tell her about my crush on her. Adam thought while musing. You know what? Tomorrow I will muster up enough courage to tell her how I feel about her and that I've been crushing on her for years...
With that thought in mind, Adam decided to get ready for bed and make sure he was comfortable for the night since he has school tomorrow. He grabbed his journal and pencil and went upstairs to put them up.
He then decided to get ready to turn in for the night. Once he was in his pajamas, teeth brushed and face washed, he decided to get comfy in bed and started to dream away. He hoped that tomorrow would be far better for him.
But what Adam didn't know was that something terrible was going to happen to him tomorrow at school. And what it was would indeed without a doubt, change his overall opinion about CDMS in general, and how he feels about it all together...
END OF CHAPTER 6...
Yeah, that's it for this chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it despite the amount of time it took for me to finish writing it out.
Now, if you must know, I have come up with a proper way to end this story. It might not be the best ending I could come up with, and it's probably something that some of you weren't expecting from me, but it's still an ending. And I hope you'll like it when it comes time to finish up this story.
So anyway, for the next chapter, Adam will get caught in the middle of a prank Jake set up for him, causing a huge mess in the gym, Adam will react negatively towards Jake in response to it, and some other consequences will occur too. How will things go for Adam? What kind of prank does Jake have in mind? How will Adam react? And what other consequences will occur to Jake as a result? Find out next time, folks!
For now, only if you want to, you can leave a review for this chapter. I got nothing else to say about that whatsoever.
With that said and done, that's all for now. So until next time, do take care of yourselves. And on that note, thanks again for reading everyone!
