All the campers stood still in shook as Gretchen just projectile vomited all over the table, Tusk barely avoiding the upchuck. everyone letting out a collective eww. Gretchen than clenched her stomach, falling face first into her bowl of chili.
"I Guess Tusk is the winner" Slinkman replied surprised, holding up the boar's hand as he let out a loud belch, receiving a mild applause as the boar looked at alligator; face down in her food.
"Nice eating, you really gave me a run for my money" Tusk replied as Gretchen swatted her bowl away, splatting on the floor, vomiting again, this time on the ground as Patsy moved her shoes, avoiding splashback.
This clearly earned attention as Slinkman looked at the alligator, asking Gretchen if she needed to go to the nurse's office, as she recoiled, claiming she was fine, clenching her stomach again.
"Gretchen, I really think you should see the nurse" Jane Doe interjected, concerned as Jakk volunteered the escort her, the two leaving the tables and heading towards Nurse Leslie's office. After the two were gone the Scouts looked at each other.
"I Can't believe they won" Terrifield commented as Tusk was finishing his bowl while Andy nudged the boar, telling him the contest was over, but he was still eating, Edward looked up, asking if there was an actual prize for winning the contest as Slinkman looked at him clipboard.
"The Winner, that is Tusk, will receive this ribbon, a Chili Eating Badge, their picture in the Prickly Pines newspaper and a week of Smores supplies" Slinkman replied as The Beans cheered. The cheers from the squirrels were faint and more forced, upset that they lost. While the Beans were cheering Tusk the Squirrels were gathered around Miss Doe and Miss Mucus.
"How could you girls lose...to Bean Scouts?" Miss Mucus asked dumbfounded, looking at the girls as Miss Doe looked at her assistant.
"Now now Rubella, they did their best" Jane Doe replied, telling the girls that they tired, and having fun was the important thing, not winning as Miss Mucus simply huffed, expelling air from her nostrils.
"I'm telling you that boar kid must have been a plant" Rachel, the leader of Ground Squirrel Cabin replied as Terrifield agreed, saying there was no way he could have eaten that much chili and to keep eating after he won the contest.
"It wasn't natural" Nina replied shocked, reflecting on the boar as one of the scouts tugged on Miss Doe's arm.
"Denmother, may I please be excused to the toilet" the rabbit replied as all the chili she had eaten was going through her.
"Absolutely Not, wait until we return to Acorn Flats" Miss Mucus responded, not keen of the idea of one the Squirrels using the Camp Kidney latrines as Amber held herself.
"But I REALLY have to go, I can't hold it that long" Amber pleaded. The gross factor of using the Latrines at Camp kidney was not lost on her but she was desperate, breathing heavily.
"Just Go sweetie" Jane decided, giving the blue rabbit permission as she bolted across the camp into the Camp Kidney latrines before any of the other scouts could see her, closing the door behind her. She had never been in the Camp Kidney restroom or any Boys restroom, it was nowhere near as nice as the Latrines at Acorn Flats as the sight of the urinals clearly left an impression.
Amber made her way to one of the stalls, closing and locking the door. while disgusting, the toilet was nowhere as bad as she anticipated. the seat was clean, bone dry and water looked clear as Amber really wished she had a seat cover but would have to make do, undoing her skirt, lowering it with her underwear as she rested her bottom on the old toilet.
After doing her business, Amber noticed a chain, hanging from the ceiling, pulling it as the water flushed. Amber looked over, noticing the brown cardboard roll as she let out a sigh.
"Give me a break" Amber commenting running her finger along the empty roll, realizing she was stranded in the Beans' Bathroom, only Miss Doe and Miss Mucus knew she was in there. if the Beans or worse the Squirrels found out, Amber would never hear the end of it, imagining the conversation in her head as the Squirrels were talking amongst themselves.
"Did you hear, Amber Hareson, used the toilets at Camp Kidney" Rachel told the other as the let out a collective eww.
"I hear the Beans pee all over the seat" Terrifield responded, adding to the gossip.
"I hear they never flush" Suzie added as the girls pointed at the rabbit, laughing at her. Amber shook her head, collecting her thoughts, there had to be a way out of this, preparing to wipe with a ripped cardboard roll as there was a knock of the stall.
"You stranded?" a voice asked as Amber froze up, the thought of being caught was tormenting her as the voice spoke again.
"We've all been there" holding a few strips of white paper as the rabbit took them, thanking the figure so much. After finishing on the toilet. Amber left the stall, heading to the sink to wash her hands, until she saw the form of one of the Bean Scouts, leave the adjacent stall.
She recognized him as the Boar who won the eating contest but did not catch his name as he looked at her, both of the in an awkward moment, washing their hands.
"So... you're the one who bolted in here" He asked shacking his hands as she nodded nervously.
"You won't...tell anyone I was in here?" Amber asked as Tusk nodded, introducing himself as Amber did the same. he reached for the button on the air dryer, drying his hands. as he looked at Amber, offering to give her a way out.
"When I leave the bathroom, I'm going to give a speech and when everyone has their eyes on me, you sneak out of the latrines and rejoin the Squirrels" Tusk offered as Amber was really grateful for this genuine act of kindness which would save her reputation. she stayed behind as Tusk left the room, closing the door behind him.
"And the champion returns" Edward said as Slinkman was handing Tusk the ribbon as well as an eating contest badge as a Camera snapped a picture of him as he spoke up.
"Thank you everyone, I am truly touched by your kindness. I always said one day my bottomless stomach and ability the consume large quantities of food would pay off, one day, but who could have thought I would win an eating contest on my first day at Camp kidney" Tusk replied, out of the corner of his eye he saw Amber creaking the door open as she bolted to her group.
"But enough about me, lets also have a round applause for those put up a good fight, they're can only be one winner, but a lot of campers held their chili Today. and a moment for that Alligator girl, she almost beat me and it's a shame she had to go the nurse... I wish her well" Tusk went on.
after the speech he returned to the cheering beans as Amber was relieved no one had noticed she was gone. The Girls returned to the boat as Amber felt a hand on her shoulder, jumping on shock, the rabbit turned seeing Miss Mucus.
"When we get back to Camp, I'm going to have to spray you down with a garden hose" The Warthog replied as Amber let out an Eep. The Warthog went ahead as The Flying squirrels passed by Amber.
"Hey Gretchen, how's your stomach?" Amber asked concerned for the alligator as Gretchen grumbled, Nurse Leslie gave her some water and some tablets to settle her stomach which seemed to be work.
"You know we're not getting dessert tonight" Patsy commented, reflecting that Miss Mucus would punish them for losing the contest.
Back at Camp Kidney Tusk was celebrating the fact that he won as Andy pat him on his back.
"Another round for Tusk Richards, the bottomless hole of Westridge" Andy cheered as the Beans did so. Even Edward was cheering, it wasn't every day the Bean Scouts actually won an event. a feat which quickly boosted Cocoa Cabin's popularity amongst the other scouts.
"We should do something the celebrate" Lazlo added as Tusk shrugged his shoulder, saying he could use a celebration, all the other campers stuffed with chili as Andy looked at Slinkman, asking what the next activity was. The Banana Slug looked at his clipboard.
"Well after the Chili Eating Contest, we have archery" Slinkman said as the boys went walking around the camp, following the adults to the camp's archery range.
"Okay, we're going to need someone to teach the Cocoa Beans how to properly use the equipment" Lumpus replied as Lazlo's hand shot up being met with the moose pulling the bow from his hands "Anyone BUT the Jellies?"
Lumpus reflected on the last time they had archery, which ended with Lazlo shooting an arrow in the scoutmaster's butt, Nurse Leslie had to remove it, this time the Jellies had to shoot suction cup arrows.
"Scoutmaster, firing a bow and arrow is easy" Andy replied as Steven walked up, picking up the bow Lumpus took from Lazlo, picking up an arrow as he pulled his fingers back, letting go at the projectile shot through the air, making its home in the target.
"Nice Shot" Dave commented, admiring Steven's archery skills. Archery day was uneventful but that was probably the way Lumpus preferred it. after taking down the archery targets the beans walked back to their cabins for free time as Lazlo stopped Andy.
"Andy, would you mind walking with me, there is something I want to show you" Lazlo offered as the tiger saw no harm in it. The two kept walking as Lazlo stopped at what resembled a building in the woods, just outside of camp but still in the Campgrounds, Andy asking what it was.
According to the Camp Lazlo Wiki Amber is one of the nicest Squirrel Scouts so it seems likely she'd form a friendship over something big like what Tusk did for her, expect more of Amber and Tusk in the future.
