Patsy managed to snatch a few Buns and a loaf from the breakfast buffet as she packed it all in a picnic basket. she was hoping that Lazlo was okay, the pain she felt in her chest was way worse than the irritation on her rump; that said the occasionally scratching really helped.
Patsy made it to the gate where she was found out, but to her relief it was Miss Doe who found her, asking where she was going with the basket. Jane asked if Patsy was going out for a picnic as it was perfect weather for a picnic but Patsy was on the fence about what she would tell the Scoutmistress.
She was not going to tell her that she put Lazlo in the infirmary and was certainly not going to throw her cabinmates under the bus it wasn't until Jane offered to go with her that Patsy decided to tell a partial truth.
"I'm actually going over Camp Kidney, one of their scouts was seriously injured so I'm hoping this basket will cheer them up" Patsy explained as Jane nodded with her usual cheerful attitude, she knew while there were no rules forbidding the scouts from visiting each other's campgrounds it was still taboo.
Jane agreed to let Patsy visit her friend, even offering to drive her to Camp Kidney as Patsy politely refused telling Miss Doe that she could use the walk. Patsy asked Miss Doe not to tell anyone she snuck off to visit Camp Kidney as Jane zipped her mouth.
The Mongoose made her way through the woods, walking alongside the lake. It was daytime so Patsy knew that she would be spotted when she approached the camp, as she made it to the campgrounds, luckily Nurse Leslie's Office was on the edge of the camp so she should not actually run into any Bean Scouts.
Taking a deep breath Patsy opened the door, preparing herself. She entered the waiting room, looking around, there seemed to be no one. Patsy approached the desk, glancing around before letting the palm of her hand lower down on the brass bell, making a dinging sound.
"I'll be right there" a voice said as Patsy sat down in the waiting area, resting her hands on her knees, a quick scratch to her nethers to quell the itching. she glanced over at a magazine, picking it off the table, flipping it open to read while she waited.
The Magazine was nothing compared to the reading material at Acorn Flats, this Magazine looked years old as it was promoting a new mobile Cassette player. It was the 2000's has Camp Kidney never heard of an MP3 player.
Patsy was reading the outdated magazine as Nursemaster Leslie, walked to his desk, asking the Mongoose what she wanted. Patsy set the magazine back on the table, telling the shark she was there to see Lazlo as the shark nodded.
"He just woke up a few hours ago, I'll be keeping him for a few more hours. the intense pain caused his nerves to shut down to protect themselves" Nursemaster Leslie explained as the diagnosis made Patsy's chest sink. Leslie said he would ask Lazlo if he would like the company, leaving.
Leslie waved Patsy in the Nurses office, where Lazlo was laying on a bed, his tongue triple in size and laying on his chest. Leslie told her that the swelling has gone down, and it should back to normal by the end of the day. Lazlo tried to lift his arm as it flopped.
Patsy sat down on a chair next to Lazlo, actually seeing him really shook her up, words could not explain how horrible the young Mongoose felt, this was beyond crossing the line, Lazlo wasn't even able to move.
"Lazlo, I..." Patsy choked on her words, taking a breath "I'm so sorry, this was not supposed to happen" Patsy finished, reaching into her basket, pulling out the loaf of Banana Bread as Leslie informed her that Lazlo was not able to eat solid food for few days.
"That's Okay Patsy, you can just put it on my nightstand and I can smell it" Lazlo replied sniffing the aroma of the loaf which was placed on the side as Patsy looked at Lazlo, part of her wanted to put on a Candy Striper outfit and nurse him back to health but she would do what she could to make things easier for her man, even if he wasn't technically 'her man'...at least not yet.
Patsy leaned in, asking Lazlo if there was anything she could do for him, Lazlo pondered, realizing his list had not been started for the day. he was hesitant on Patsy doing his list as the last time he trusted it with someone else, Edward took all the credit. Lazlo thought and decided he trusted Patsy, plus her doing good things around Camp Kidney might help her.
"There is something you could do for-Anything, you name it" Patsy cut him off, willing to hike barefoot up the rocky side of Pimpleback Mountain if it would help her beloved Monkey.
Lazlo told her about his obsessively composed list of self-imposed tasks which he completed on a daily basis, telling her it was in his cabin, asking her to do that as Patsy agreed, seeing this put him at ease. Patsy would do the crap out of that list, setting the basket on the table, and waved goodbye to Lazlo.
Patsy made her way through Camp Kidney, most of the Beans surprised to see the Mongoose trekking through their camp as they zipped out of her way, rushing back into their cabins. Patsy did not even care about being seen, after seeing Lazlo in that state, she made it her mission to do that List, she told Lazlo she'd do it and Patsy has never once gone back on her word.
In Jelly Cabin, Raj and Calm were playing cards as Raj looked at the cards in his hand, asking Clam if he had any rhino replied, telling him to go fish as he did, when the door opened.
"Oh, Lazlo you're ba...aaah" Raj let a scream jumping to the top of the Jelly Cabin totem pole, Clam was not scared, more angry with her "Nasty Patsy!"
Patsy put her hands up, telling to be calm and that she wasn't her for trouble as Raj stayed on the pole, clear they did not believe that after what happened in the mess hall and their best friend being sent to the infirmary. he commented that Patsy was mean but to do THAT, she was heartless as the Mongoose reached up, pulling Raj from the pole as he shrieked.
"Put Raj Down" Calm ordered as he was more stubborn than anything, as Looked at them, dead serious hearing the accusations from the two that Patsy intended this to happen. Patsy got serious as she looked at them with a glare so cold it froze them.
"Listen, because I'm only going to say this once, what happened with Lazlo was not my intention and I'm terribly sorry about it, now... where is his list?" Patsy asked, looking at the two completely frozen in ice as Patsy rolled her eyes "Right"
The Mongoose looked at the two frozen Bean scouts before walking around to Lazlo's section of the cabin, seeing a piece of paper sticking out from Lazlo's pillow as she gently tugged it. Patsy rolled up the list as left Jelly Cabin.
Once outside Patsy unrolled the list as it fell the ground, rolling on the ground as she finally saw how long it really was. It was going to be long day for her.
"Okay, number one: say good morning all the trees and flowers" Patsy read as she began her day of activities for Lazlo.
Back at Acorn Flats Nina and Gretchen were in their cabin was Nina was placing the underwear under her microscope, turning the knob, nodding.
"Just as I suspected... Itching Powder" Nina commented as Gretchen was scratching her rear as Nina confirmed what Gretchen was thinking as the alligator came to a realization. The Bean Scout had Pranked THEM.
The realization had Gretchen turn red with anger, They HAD to get the Bean Scouts back for this. This was a disturbance to the natural order of things. The Squirrels were at the top.
It just baffled Nina How could the Beans infiltrate Acorn flats, break into their LOCKED cabin and putting Itching Powder in their underwear, they were not that professional Nina questioned as Gretchen chalked it up to those new boys.
"We just happened to get pranked when the new Beans show up, it can't be coincidence" Gretchen figured out claiming they HAD to prank them back. Nina concluded that the best thing to do be to wait for Patsy to get back. Gretchen agreed, knowing she was the head Squirrel Scout, wherever she was.
A few Hours passed at Camp Kidney as Patsy was finishing Lazlo's list, crossing the last item off, she was relieved to finally be done with that list. Doing all those activities needed her sanity, even the more gross ones like giving the Dungs their mud bath, and cleaning of the gutters.
She made her way to the Nurses office, handing the list to Lazlo, claiming she did every activity on it, stating it was the worst three hours of her life, having done and seen things she had never imagined or wanted to think about as Lazlo looked at her, thanking Patsy as she requested, he never ask her to do the list again.
"I honestly had no idea this was how you spent your mornings" The Mongoose replied as Lazlo genuinely thanked her. The spent a while talking as Patsy looked at Lazlo, requesting a hug from the Monkey, Lazlo reminded her he could not feel anything for the time being, and suggested the reschedule the hug.
As Soon as patsy returned to Acorn Flats, she headed to the showers, to wash up after doing all those deeds. The Mongoose made her way to the showers where Gretchen and Nina were currently washing, scrubbing themselves.
"Those damn Beans, we will get them back for this I Swear" Gretchen replied scrubbing herself as Patsy walked in behind them, getting undressed as she walked under the adjacent shower.
Nina took a look at Patsy, asking what happened to her as the Mongoose squirted a glob of body wash into her hand, lathering herself, claiming she did not want to talk about it, countering with what they were talking about, something the Beans. Nina informed Patsy that she found traces of Itching powder in their underwear and suspect that the new Beans Scouts were responsible.
"So, THEY are the reason I've been scratching all day?" Patsy asked, frustrated as she spent the last hours doing chores around Camp Kidney with an itchy lower half. Patsy promised herself She'd never prank Lazlo again but considering the New Beans, it was Game On.
I Wanted to show both sides of Patsy's personality back-to-back. showing how she so willing to Do Lazlo's list even though it grossed her out as well as how hostile she can be, freezing Raj and Clam with a single glare. (Cartoon Logic)
