The Bus Ride back to camp would not be a long one but Patsy was determined to make the most of it, sitting next to Lazlo; The two held a nice conversation. Patsy looked at him, again apologizing for the Hot Sauce incident, claiming Gretchen did not know how powerful that stuff was, and it was not intended for him. Lazlo seemed to be forgiving, not holding anything against Patsy as his tongue was now back to normal.
Lazlo had to admit, sitting on the girls' side of the bus was a bit awkward. the Monkey felt a crumpled piece of Paper bounce off his head. He wasn't sure who threw it, but he just ignored it, continuing their conversation.
Lazlo was talking about this movie he and Jellies were planning to see soon, asking Patsy if she liked horror movies. The Mongoose shrugged, saying as long as they weren't too intense, she would watch them. favoring adventure flicks more. Lazlo told her the Jellies were planning to go into town next week to see 'Mountain Zombies II' and asked if she and Flying Squirrel wanted to come with.
As Much as Patsy wanted to spend the time with Lazlo, she knew that the staff would not let them out to see a horror movie, and they certainly would not let them see 'Mountain Zombies II' with Bean Scouts.
Lazlo shrugged, saying it was okay, saying he'd invite some of the Cocoa Beans instead. Steven hearing this said he was down, saying the Original Mountain Zombies was a masterpiece, asking if Lazlo saw the full version or the Creature Feature Cut. Lazlo looked at Steven who explained that the Full version was more intense than the Creature Feature version which had altered scenes and was often paired with 'Scab Lagoon' as double feature kind of movie.
Lazlo realized he had seen the Creature Feature version which Steven commented was edited for younger audiences, claiming all the good stuff was cut out. Eventually the Bus stopped at Acorn Flats. Patsy looked up, saying goodbye to Lazlo as she stood up, carrying her bag as she walked off with the other squirrels.
When the girls had left Edward still commented that he could smell perfume in the bus. The ride from Acron Flats to Camp Kidney was surprisingly shorter as the bus pulled into the Camp. The Scouts were leaving their bus, happy to change back into their clean uniforms.
The Jellies returned to their cabin as Lazlo unbuttoned his Hawaiian shirt, tossing it on his bed, putting on the top to his Uniform, the other scouts doing the same as Lazlo rubbed the fabric, commenting about how good the fabric felt on his skin.
"So Nice" Clam added, enjoying the feeling of a fresh-cleaned uniform. Lazlo looked at his cabinmates, asking how they wanted to spend their day. Raj looked at the camp activities scheduled for the day recommending checkers in the Mess Hall. The other Jellies seemed to agree.
In The Mess Hall the Jelly Trio was paired against Honey Bean cabin, facing off against Harold, Larrison and Milt. Slinkman called everyone attention, going over the rules as the games began. Lazlo was up against Freddie, the Cabin leader of Honey Bean. letting the Walrus have to first move. Once Harold made his move Lazlo made his move as the game of checkers continued.
At another table Andy was playing against Edward. The Platypus moved his piece as Andy, captured one of his pieces. Edward looked at Andy, pointing out that he has become quite the scout since coming here, pranking Flying Cabin, winning the kart race, pelting the Acorn Flats watchtower.
Edward moved his piece, taking out two of Andy's checkers. Andy just smiled, telling the Platypus that he was used to turf wars and they have not had to get serious yet. in all honestly Ady did not want to get serious with the Squirrels as Edward nodded.
"Just don't forget I'm the scout who runs this camp, don't think that I haven't noticed you Cocoa Beans gaining quite the following" Edward replied moving his piece asking Andy to King him. Andy placed another piece over his as the game was close as Andy pointed out Edward's biggest flaw, earning the Platypus' attention, asking what his biggest flaw was as Andy responded.
"It's your ego, your desire to stand on top, clouding your judgment" Andy explained moving his piece taking his king and few other checkers as he called 'Game' eliminating Edward as he simply stood up, taking a deep breath rubbing forehead with his fingers in a circular motion before walking off.
One by one scouts were eliminated as 16 became 8, then 8 became 4 and 4 became 2, leaving the last two Bean Scouts standing: that being Andy and Lazlo. Eventually Andy was eliminated as Lazlo won the checkers game, receiving a Checkers badge from Slinkman. Andy was a bit surprised but did not hold any ill feeling towards Lazlo as he played a good game.
After the checkers the group From Cocoa Bean decided to have some free time. Tusk put his hand over his forehead, commenting on how hot it was. Jakk Agreed commenting on how sweaty it was. If the Lake wasn't so dirty the boys would actually take a swim as Lazlo approached them, asking what they were talking about.
Tusk told the Monkey about how hot it was, commenting he would kill for some Ice Cream. Lazlo said that the Ice Cream truck won't come for another three days. The Monkey suggested the can cool off in the lake.
Andy rebutted, saying that he did not like swimming, Steven opted out. Tusk admitted that swimming in the lake just seemed gross, and dangerous as they did not know what sea life lived in the lake. Lazlo nodded, telling Andy about his encounter with sea monster who collected snow globes as Andy rolled his eyes.
"There is also the swimming pool" Lazlo explained as Tusk looked at him, asking the Monkey what he was babbling about, knowing that Camp Kidney did not have a swimming pool. Lazlo explained that there was a pool at Acorn Flats, adding that it had a diving board. He told the Cocoa Beans that He, Raj and Clam used it all the time.
Andy asked how that was possible as the Cocoa Beans got the message that Bean Scouts while allowed, were not exactly welcome at Acorn Flats. The Jellies offered the show them, leading them back to Jelly Cabin where Lazlo reached under his bed pulling out a gym bag, setting it on his bed as he unzipped it.
Andy looked inside the bag seeing Squirrel Scout uniforms, pink swimming dresses and a collection of wigs. Lazlo told them that they occasionally put these disguises on and go over to Acorn Flats. Andy picked up one of the wigs, a brown one and looked at the Monkey.
"So, you're telling me that you three just put one those outfits and wigs and the Squirrel Scouts don't recognize you, despite the facts that they don't have any Monkey, Rhino or Elephant campers?" Tusk countered at how that was even possible but the three never questioned it. Andy spoke up, commenting that he had to see this, believing there was no way this could actually work.
Lazlo invited them to come along as the Jellies put the wigs and uniforms back in the bags. walking out of the cabin and into the woods. The Boys from Cocoa Bean following them. The hike was uninteresting until they were halfway through the woods. Lazlo asked the Cocoa Beans to keep an eye out while the three changed. The Cocoa Beans averted their eyes as they heard the Jellies changing.
Eventually The Three came out from behind the bushes, wearing Squirrel Scout Uniforms, Lazlo was wearing a brown curly wig, Clam sporting a bright pink puffy wig and Raj with a Dark pink curly wig.
"Wow, you three... actually look like Girls" Tusk complimented that they actually looked cute as Lazlo Giggled, thanking them in a slightly higher voice, sounding feminine. instructing them to stay back as they just walked into Acorn Flats.
The Three walked up to the entrance of Acorn Flats as Cocoa Bean was making bets on what would happen. The three walked up to Miss Mucus who was reading her magazine, taking a glance at the three raising the barricade as they just walked through.
Cocoa Bean was just standing their shocked that their plan actually worked as the four headed back to Camp Kidney before any of the Squirrels noticed them.
Back at Camp Kidney the Four Cocoa Beans decided to keep cool by staying in Mcmuesli's cooler. According to broadcasts on the radio it was one of the hottest days on record and it would only get hotter as the Cocoa Beans and the rest of the Bean Scouts were looking for a way to beat the Heat.
"What we need is our own pool" Andy commented, laying on the cooler ground as Tusk agreed, fanning himself, admitting that maybe Lazlo's idea of dressing up like Squirrel Scouts was NOT stupid. despite this the rest of the group refused to partake in such an idea.
"Why not dig a hole and fill it with water, old school Mud Puddle" Tusk suggested as Steven looked at them, stating he could probably build a homemade pool if he had just the right parts. Andy thought about asking but knew the Wolf could build anything with the right parts.
Steven drove his Bean can to the scrapyard and would later return with the jackpot, an old abandon hot tub that he dragged along on a wagon. Tusk helping him set it behind Cocoa Cabin.
"Aww Dude are we getting a hot tub?" Jakk asked as Steven looked at him, explaining how stupid a hot tub would be on a summer day would be, explaining the point of this was to keep the water cold. which he should be able to do with the right parts.
The Wolf began construction on the small Hot Tub which Steven was looking to convert into a pool for Cocoa Cabin, looking at the panel, tightening some of the pipes. eventually he was content with the work, feeling the side of the tub which was cold. Steven implied Andy to get some water to fill it up.
The Cocoa Beans were at an impasse. they had the pool built but how would they fill it. Steven looked asking if there was hose. eventually the found their answer in the form of the latrines. they would fill a bucket with water from the sink than return to the Hot Tub, pouring the water in. they would do this repeatingly until it was filled to an appropriate level.
So, The Jellies wearing Squirrel Scout Uniforms is a refence to the Episode 'Swimming Buddy' and it's something they regularly do. the joke is that their disguises are so lackluster but despite that the Squirrel Scouts can't Their Squirrel Scout names are Lizzie Rajina and Clamilla. also the Movies 'Mountain Zombies' and 'Scab Lagoon' are from the episode 'Movie Night'. though there it's 'Mountain Zombies of Scab Lagoon'. in this universe its a double feature. picture 'Grindhouse' but with horror flicks.
