Chapter 4 Rehearsing for a small dance Competition
Jake's POV
As we were all in studio A, Peter and Red Jessica came into the room.
"Okay, you all have been entered a small dance competition this weekend!" Peter told us while we all got excited.
"This year red Jessica and I will be switching up the positions in the lines. We will decide the positions by hosting the auditions for it." Peter explained.
"Wait a minute hold on a second, Peter Red Jessica where are you guys choosing the position? Isn't it my job to decide the positions in the lines?" I asked while following them back to Peter's office.
"How can the team respect me if you guys are just going to keep taking away my responsibilities?" I wanted to know.
"Ugh, find a jake, you can host the auditions but make sure it's best for the team." Peter exclaimed annoyed.
"Of course, I always make sure what's best for my team." I answered and then left.
Finn's POV
As we were all stretching, for the auditions for the line position, Stormy started to speak.
"So, Finn I heard that your choreographing for the J Troupe." Stormy exclaimed.
"Oh, great." I answered.
"What's wrong with that? It's just J Troupe is only kids in preteens." Stormy told me.
"How old are they in the J Troupe?" I asked.
"I'm not answering that." Stormy said.
Jake's POV
As I was hosting the auditions for the line of position, Cubby was holding the clipboard in his hands.
"Can I have everyone's attention please!" I called as I got everyone's attention.
"Okay, here is how it will go, Stormy, Cubby, Bart, John, Izzy, Pirate Princess, Misty, Finn and Owlette. First person that will go first is Stormy. Show us what you got." I told her as she started dancing to the song On The Floor by Jennifer Lopez
"Wow, Stormy is dancing gracefully." Cubby exclaimed as I nodded my head.
"I agree with that Cubby, she is dancing gracefully." I answered.
"Watch your mouth Hutchinson!" I heard Izzy say.
"Calm down woman!" I yelled as I turned my attention back to Cubby while I was making notes on my clipboard on everyone's position in the line.
"Uh, Jake you need to calm down matey." Cubby told me.
"Sorry, Izzy sometimes gets all in my business." I said.
"I heard that! You and I are going to have a talk later young man." Izzy yelled across the room.
Cubby's POV
As I was next, I started to dance my best while Jake was watching me by making notes on my line positioning.
Bart's POV
As I was next to go up, I was doing pirouette while Jake is talking about my pirouette as Cubby was making notes on my position in the dance.
Jake's POV
"Thanks Bart! Okay next up is... Oh John. Okay, let's see what you got." I told him as John also did pirouette dance moves while Cubby was making notes on his dancing.
As John was doing pirouette and leg sick, I commenting on John's dancing to Cubby.
"Cubby, John's dancing is... how do I say this without making him look bad?" I asked.
"Jake, be nice." Cubby exclaimed.
"John's dancing is okay." I told him.
"Yeah, I agree with you Jake it's okay." Cubby said.
Cubby's POV
As Izzy was next her dancing was amazing while I was making notes. She was doing pirouette, and aerials.
"Wow, Izzy's amazing with her dancing!" I complimented.
"Yep, she's the best dancer and I love her." Jake said while John was also looking at Izzy with hearty eyes.
The next person was Pirate Princess, as I was making notes on her dancing.
"Pirate Princess, has to earn her spot and her dance is very safe." Jake sad as I nodded my head in agreement.
The next person up was Misty! And her dance was good as I was making notes on it, and Jake was complimenting.
"Wow, Pirate Princess is so good." Jake exclaimed.
"Jake, watch...your...MOUTH!" Izzy yelled at him.
The last person was Owlette. As she began to do her dancing while I was making notes on it, she forgot most of her dancing and fell to the ground.
"Wow, she was horrible." John complimented.
"No she wasn't." We all told him.
Jake's POV
"Okay, everyone I'm going to run this over by Peter and Red Jessica, we will be back." I told them.
As Cubby and I went inside Peter's office, Peter was eating a sandwich while Red Jessica was drinking coffee.
"oh, Jake Cubby, welcome back! So how did it go?" Peter asked.
"Here is the list of the Position lines." I said.
Jake's POV
As I came back, everyone was silent.
"Okay here is the line position. Stormy please go in the middle row, Cubby you're in the middle row as well. Bart, you're in the back row, along with John being in the back row. Izzy you're in front and center, Pirate Princess you're next to Bart in the middle row, Misty you're in the middle row in between Stormy and Cubby. Finn, you're in front now. And Owlette, you're in the back row next to Pirate Princess." I told them.
Izzy's POV
As we were all rehearsing, our dance we were actually dancing to American Pie by Don McLean.
Jake's POV
"Okay, that was amazing! Let's take a five minute break." I said as Izzy ran off as I followed her.
"Hey is everything okay?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine just have to go use the ladies room." Izzy told me as she went inside.
"Ah, okay I'll be waiting here." I answered.
"Please go back inside studio A." Izzy yelled.
"Alright then." I said as I left.
As I saw everyone walking out of studio A while bumping into me making their dance captain fall down. I got up and went inside and saw that Owlette was the only one there.
"I didn't notice you were there, Jake." Owlette exclaimed.
"Trying to learn the dance?" I wanted to know.
"Yeah, for some reason I just can't. Maybe I should just give up and leave." Owlette.
"I'm sorry, did I just hear my favorite partner in the world said that she is going to give up and leave?" Catboy asked as he came in.
"What are you doing here?" Owlette wanted to know.
"I overheard you talking to Jake here, saying that you are trying to learn the dance for the position lines." Catboy exclaimed.
"How did you...?" I asked.
"Hello, cat ears remember?" Catboy reminded me.
"Oh." I answered.
"I can help you Owlette. That is if it's okay with you." Catboy exclaimed.
"Catboy, did you spy on us?" I asked.
"What? Me? Spy, hahahaha... Yes!" Catboy admitted.
"Thanks for telling the truth." I thanked him.
"Sure, Catboy you can help." Owlette exclaimed.
Finn's POV
As i entered studio B, I saw there were three girls and two boys.
"This is going to be embarrassing." I told myself, as I didn't look where I was going and tripped on my own foot and into a garbage can as all the little kids laughed and giggled.
"Alright so, before I begin, may I please learn your names?" I asked.
"Sam, David, Todd, Ben, Zoey!" They all introduced themselves to me.
"Well, hello to all of you I'm Finn! So today, I am choreographing the J Troupe." I told them as Sam raised her hand.
"Yes, Sam! Do you have a question?" I asked.
"Do you even know what your doing?" Sam asked as they all giggled.
As I continued to choreograph them, David raised his hand.
"Excuse me Finn, we won't learn the dance until you've known our names." David told me.
"Oh." I said.
"I don't think I like you." Zoey answered.
Bart's POV
Everyone was taking their breaks, I was in studio A studying math by myself. But I saw that Owlette walking by as I grabbed her attention.
"Hey Owlette, do you know what sins tans means?" I asked.
"Of course I do." Owlette responded. As I put my book down.
"Oh, I also got you an owl toy." I said while holding up the toy as she giggled while laughed a bit as well.
"Hey, Bart, can I ask you a question?" I asked.
"Sure!" I answered.
"What did you think of me being in the back row?" Owlette exclaimed.
"To be honest I don't know." I answered.
"Actually, to be really honest Owlette, I think it's good for you to be in the back row because I can see that you're not ready to be in the front because you were looking at cubby in the front of you following the directions. No offense" I told her.
"No it's okay, I understand and I needed to hear it." Owlette exclaimed as she nods her head and walks away while I sent back down and opened up my math book.
Finn's POV
As I was choreographing the kids, they are just sitting down doing nothing.
"Okay, kids seriously let's take it from the top." I told them.
"No." All five kids exclaimed.
"Okay how about we can go through with music that's more fun." I said.
"Fine." Sam answered.
But unfortunately, they are still not listening to me.
"I want this to be the best it can be, it's not me it's you guys." I said.
"Yeah sure." David answered as they all laughed again.
Stormy's POV
"Alright, J Troupe get up." I exclaimed.
"Rehearsal starts now get up!" I yelled.
Finn's POV
As I was still with the J Troupe, I was teaching them some dance steps while they were listening to the song Smile by R5.
"And 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4." I kept repeating the numbers while the followed as Stormy was watching.
The kids were finally motivated to dance since Stormy walked into the room.
Owlette's POV
As I walked into Peter's office I had a question to ask him.
"Peter why did you put me in the back row?" I wanted to know.
"Cause, your audition didn't stand out and you needs to work on your dancing to move up the dance lines." Peter explained.
"I understand thanks." I thanked him and left his office.
Cubby's POV
While we were all inside Peter's Cafe, Stormy and I started to have a conversation.
"So, how did those kids do today with Finn?" I asked.
"Good thanks! So, what are we going to do with Jake and Izzy? They are not talking to each other due to what happened during the dance captain situation." Stormy exclaimed.
"I don't know, but what I do know is that they won't break up." I said as I held her hand tight.
"I know." Stormy responded.
As Izzy came over she sat down next to Stormy, and just placed her head on the table.
"What's wrong sunshine?" Stormy wanted to know.
"Am I a good dance captain?" Izzy asked.
"Yes! Are you still upset that Jake got to be dance captain and you didn't?" Stormy wanted to know.
"Yes, but I'm okay. I'm a big girl I can take it." Izzy exclaimed.
"I wanted to be dance captain?!" Izzy cried as I got up and hugged my big taking with Stormy doing the same.
"We know, we know." Both Stormy and I said.
Owlette's POV
As we were warming up in studio A for the second rehearsal, I was talking to Bart about being in the back row.
"How do you like being in the back row Bart?" I asked.
"I don't mind it Owlette." Bart answered as Jake walked in.
Jake's POV
"Okay, everybody take your positions." I told them.
"I'm sure you all should he warmed up by now." I said as they took their positions once Peter came in next.
Peter's POV
"Okay dancers we have a lot of work to do on this dance still okay, need to pick up the energy big time." I exclaimed as the rehearsal began.
"Okay here we go, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... And repeat. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... And again." I kept repeating the numbers over and over while they were dancing.
"Let's go again." Jake announced.
"But Mr Hutchinson I'm tired, can we take a break?" Bart complained.
"A break?! We just started, and you want to take a break? Not happening." Jake told him.
"But I got to use the bathroom." Bart said.
"Well, you should have gone before." I told him.
Finn's POV
As the J Troupe came in, A troupe sat down.
"Okay so I choreograph this routine for J troupe and they have a big competition coming up this weekend. And a shout-out to stormy for helping me out here." I said as Stormy smiled.
"Good luck, guys!" Stormy and I said as they started to dance to show to Red Jessica and Peter.
While they were showing their dance moves, I was really proud of them.
As they were done, troupe A were smiling and clapping their hands.
"Well done guys!" I said as they ran and hugged me.
"Great job kids." A Troupe exclaimed.
Izzy's POV
"Hey Jake, can we talk?" I asked while waking up to him.
"Sure what's up?" Jake wanted to know
"Listen, I'm over with not being the dance captain, and I'm okay with you being the dance captain. I just want us to be happy again." I told him.
"Okay. But if you ever push me on the floor again you'll be sleeping in the guest room next time." Jake said as we hugged.
