Xavier and Thrall exited out onto the bridge with shocked expressions on their faces as they all looked out to the drifting Galaxy Class hanging in space before them
"There she is boys and girls the USS Birmingham" Tadashi said.
"We found her already? This quick? With a probe? Did Starfleet even try?" Sato asked. "I know right you'd think they would have come up with a similar idea" Xavier said.
"It seems the currents in the nebula must have eventually pushed her out into this clearing she may have been lost in the Nebula all those years till just recently" Vanessa said. "Well bring us up to her scan her interior I want to know what's on her " Tadashi said
"Uhh well she has no power what so ever and that's just by looking at it. Sensors show no energy readings at all her warpcore is ice cold at this rate the antimatter is probably inherit and I don't even wanna guess the state of the dilithiun crystals. Plasma is probably fucked but once I'm on there I'll have a better idea. I went ahead and readjusted our tractor beams so we can tow her if we need to.. imma go gather what I need" Xavier said heading off
"Vanessa match our rotation with her bring us up along side. everyone get your suits on and meet in the transporter room" Tadashi ordered taking a final look at the view screen and the approaching Starship.
In the Hayashis transporter room Xavier was already loading up various pieces or equipment he knew he needed such as various power cells and inverters to get some of the Birminghams systems online as well as some spare dilithiun crystals for it's warpcore chamber
"Imma transport some antimatter via our shuttle later once I know what I'm working with. Ain't worked on a Starfleet ship in a while man I always wanted to get my hands on the Galaxy's warpcore shit was top of the line back in the day. " Xavier rambled on as he hopped over to the controls. "Locking onto engineering and emgerizzzing' he said watching his equipment vanish in a old school golden beam. "And complete noice! Ay yo Tadashi we ready?" Xavier asked as Tadashi Vanessa and Thrall entered in their suits. Sato tagging along whining
"Why can't I commmeeeee?!" He asked
"Cause someone's gotta stay with my ship and make sure it don't drift off while we work. Sorry Sato you drew the short straw. I need Vanessa cause she's actually served on a Galaxy class in the past. I need Xavier for obvious reasons and Thralls here just in case we run into something'
"Like what? That place is dead it's crews probably dead! He's only going cause y'all fuck" Sato huffed earning a glare from Tadashi "that is not fair and you know it!. You get to go on alot of jobs with me. Suck it up and take the short straw and I'll promise once we make progress and get the Birminghams systems online Ill Letchs come but right now it's not safe and I'll be damned if you get hurt" Tadashi said firmly
"Fine" Sato sighed taking place at the transporter console as the others gathered on the pad.
"Energizing'" he mumhled pushing up the levers and watching his brother and coworkers vanish.
In the Birminghams engine room the darkness gave way to the bright golden beams of the Hayashi transporter as it deposited the four members of her crew. One by one they each turned on a wrist light shining around.
"I don't see any internal damage so far. Baby looks prestine!" Xavier said
"Where are the bodies?" Vanessa commented looking about. "This ship had over 800 officers and crew when she went missing... I don't like this" she said
"Yeah I want open coms from everyone we check in with each other every thirty minutes understood?. Xavier you get to work on the warpcore and try to restore main power, Thrall stay with him ok? Me and Vanessa are gonna scout the upper decks and make way for the bridge while stopping at the main cargobay to inspect the latinum keep your eyes and ears open"
Everyone nodded in agreement and Xavier got to work opening cases and taking out equipment "thrall help me open the dilithiun chamber"
Tadashi and Vanessa set out walking the eerie empty corridors
"Tadashi something feels wrong" she said. "Yeah I feel it to a feeling that we shouldn't be here but can't back out now reward is to great" Tadashi replied as they stopped outside a door
"Here this is a Jeffries tube Access should get us to the upper decks " she said and Tadashi reached out and with a grunt he pried the doors open with a soft hiss escaping them
"Look for the Manuel override to open these hatches" she said shining her light above, Tadashi opened a small panel and pulled down a lever pumping it the hatch slowly opened up. "The Cargo bay should be about 5 decks up near one of the secondary shuttlebay" she said
"Think Starfleet would miss one of the Birminghams shuttles? Those kind of ships go for a pretty penny I could probably get 3 bars of latinum for one if their in good shape" he said. "No but it gives me a idea if we can get two of them online we can use them to power some of the systems find out what happened to the crew" she replied.
"Well let's get going" Tadashi said as he took the lead and began climbing
