Chapter 2 -

It's been a few days since the Quidditch match. Christina was at work while her mum babysat Bethany. She found her thoughts wandering to the mysterious brunette man she had bumped into before the match. She thought he was so handsome.

She's only been divorced, a little over a year and a half now but she couldn't help but find this guy attractive. Maybe he wouldn't want to date a single mother let alone a muggle. She had the similar thought process when she thought about trying to date a muggle; maybe they wouldn't want to date a single mother who had a magical child. But she's getting ahead of herself, she doesn't even know his name. Though, she had always found Scottish accents attractive. There's a reason why her favorite Doctor from 'Doctor Who' was Sylvester McCoy.

"Miss Finch Fletchley?"

She looked up at her co worker, Amber. The other woman was a year younger than her. She had dark brown hair with pink tips.

"Yes, Amber?" she smiled.

"You have some visitors."

She nodded and walked out to the front to see her paternal grandparents, Ethel and James Finch- Fletchley.

Her grandfather had been the owner of a small chain of pet stores specializing in reptiles named 'Scales and Tails'. He had retired when she started working here when she finished university.

"Gran! Grandpa!" she shouted, greeting them.

They greeted their oldest granddaughter with hugs.

"What brings you here?"

"We're collecting our older grandchildren and taking them out to dinner," Ethel explained.

"So, it's just me, Aaron and Justin?"

"Yes, since you're the closest we thought we'd pick you up first," she said.

James nodded.

"I'll call mum and tell her I'll be home a little later."

James assured his granddaughter. "Don't worry about that, your mum already knows as does your dad."

"Okay."

The trio walked out of the building and made their way to the metro so they could travel to Aaron's school.

They travelled to Aaron's school and Christina noticed her brother talking to a man who looked around his age.

Christina knew her younger brother was gay so he could be flirting with him. Aaron caught his sister's eye and gestured for only her to come over.

"Hey Chrissy," he greeted.

"Hi Aaron."

"This is Michael, he's a fellow teacher," he introduced.

Christina smiled. "It's nice to meet you."

"You too. Aaron's been telling me about his niece who will possibly be in my class in a few years."

"Oh, you teach kindergarten."

Michael nodded.

"Gran and Grandpa are taking us out to dinner," she explained.

Aaron nodded and said goodbye to Michael before walking over to greet his grandparents.

"So, now we need to find Justin."

"It's Friday night, He's either over Ernie's or Eliza's," Christina said.

Aaron teased his sister. "Do you keep tabs on me too?"

She shoved him playfully. "You and Justin are just rather predictable."

"No arguments there."

Eliza was the one who would likely have a phone so Christina took out her cell phone and called Justin.

"Hey sis," he greeted.

"Hey Justin. You're over Eliza's aren't you?"

"I am."

"Do you have anything special planned tonight?"

"No, what's up?"

"Gran and Grandpa want to take us out for dinner."

"That sounds good. I'll meet you there," Justin told them.

Christina gave him the directions and hung up. The quartet made their way to the restaurant by taxi.

Justin ran up to them a few minutes later and greeted his grandparents. They walked in and were seated.

"So, you've been divorced for a year and a half now, haven't you?" Ethel asked her granddaughter.

"I have."

"Do you think you're ready to date again?"

Christina sighed. "I'm not sure I can. There's so many things I have to think about now."

"Our great granddaughter needs a dad someday."

"I'm not sure if any guy would like to date a single mother, Gran. Let alone a single mother of a child who has magical powers."

"You could always try a magical man, Chrissy," Justin suggested helpfully.

"I doubt a wizard would want to date a muggle."

Justin smiled. "I know if Eliza was not magical, I would still date her."

"But that's different, you're a muggle born and understand not growing up with magic."

Justin shrugged.

"Besides, wizards outlive muggles. If I date a magical man, they'd outlive me. Though, I suppose that can happen if I marry a muggle too."

Ethel said. "I have a friend who has a grandson your age."

"Dear, Teeny doesn't like it when you meddle in her life," James said letting out a long, suffering sigh.

Christina blushed at her grandfather's use of her childhood nickname that only he and her dad could still get away with calling her.

Ethel sighed and turned to her oldest grandson. "Are you dating anyone?"

"No;" Aaron said quickly.

Both Christina and Justin and their parents knew he was gay but their grandparents didn't.

"So, Justin is the only one who is in a long term relationship?"

"I am. We've been talking about marriage lately too."

"You've been together 4 years, haven't you?"

"We have."

The group continued talking. After dinner, they went home.

"Bethany, sweetie, what are you still doing up?" Christina asked her daughter.

It was nearly 8 o'clock and she usually went to bed at 7.

"I wanted to stay up and Grandpa couldn't say no," she explained.

"She has you wrapped around her pinky finger, doesn't she dad?"

"And I'm proud of it."

"Uncle Justin, would you tell me stories about Hogwarts?"

"Sure, Effie," he smiled, picking his niece up from the table.

Christina sat down at the table.

"How was your dinner with your grandparents?"

"Fine."

"I know your gran can meddle a bit."

"She can."

Before Francis could reply Justin walked in. "She's out like a light."

"Thanks Justin," she thanked her baby brother.

"No problem."

"There's an old episode of Doctor Who on, you want to watch?" Francis asked his oldest and youngest.

"Who's the doctor in this one?" Christina asked excitedly.

"I think it's one of the first ones. I didn't get into the show until the third Doctor."

Christina nodded. "I'd love to, dad."

"Me too."

The trio walked to the living room and sat down. Aaron joined them to watch the show too. All the Finch-Fletchley kids were fans of the show and interested in science in one way or another.

Christina began to nod off pretty soon into the second episode.

"Tired, Chrissy?" Justin asked.

She yawned, "I am."

"We'll tell you about the episode in the morning, sweetie," Francis assured his oldest.

She nodded and made her way to bed. She changed into a vaguely Hufflepuff shirt that Justin had given her. She knew she would be a Hufflepuff, she was kind and accepting but not at all patient.

Aaron is the one who inherited their mum's patience while her and Justin did not. To match, she put on a pair of yellow sweats.

She crawled into bed and instantly fell asleep.
