It was now a few weeks later, she had the day off so she was home with her daughter and youngest brother.

"Mummy?"

"Yes, Effie?"

"Why is there an owl flying during the day, aren't they usually asleep?" she asked inquisitively.

Christina had been used to receiving owls from Justin while he was in school but had never seen this owl before.

"Justin!"

"Yes?"

"Are you expecting an owl from someone?" she asked, pointing to the owl.

Justin followed his sister's gaze. "No, I'm not. I don't recognize the owl either but I think it's injured."

"Oh, poor owl," Bethany said.

The owl landed on the ground and collapsed its wings first. The trio ran to check on it.

"Oh, you poor thing," Christina cooed, picking it up.

"It seems like we have to take it to the vet," Justin noticed.

Christina nodded.

"What should we do about the letter it's carrying?" Justin asked curiously.

"We can't open it since it's illegal to open someone else's mail," Christina said.

Justin said. "I suppose."

"It's none of our business anyway. Who is the letter for?"

"Percy Weasley and it's from Oliver Wood."

"I suppose I could write to Oliver to tell him that he won't be receiving his letter."

"That seems like a good idea, sis."

"You two go take this poor dear to the vet," Christina suggested to Justin and her daughter.

"Okay, mummy," Bethany said.

Justin may be magical, he also knew how to drive but the family had two cars but they were both being used.

They walked back into the house.

"Can I borrow some of your parchment, Justin?" she asked.

"Go ahead, Chrissy."

Bethany looked curiously at the owl. "Wizards use owls to keep in contact?"

"They do. I wrote many letters to your mum, Uncle Aaron, your gran and grandpa while I was in school."

Christina sat down at the table and began to write the letter.

Dear Oliver,

Hello, My name is Christina. I'm not sure how but your friend's owl was injured and landed in my backyard. Your letter won't be delivered. We'll take good care of her. This owl is named Brownie but I'm sure she has a name tag.

Christina

"You can borrow my owl, Chrissy."

Christina nodded and walked up to her younger brother's room. Justin had briefly owned a toad in his third year but it ran off by his fourth.

Justin now owned a Scops owl, only to keep in touch with his friends from Hogwarts. The owl was named Brownie since Justin had asked a two-year-old Bethany to help name it. Bethany had a major sweet tooth so she named it Brownie.

"Hey girl," Christina cooed to the owl.

The owl looked curiously at her, probably wondering why it wasn't Justin sending an owl. Christina had a thing for animals especially birds so it didn't take very long for Brownie to let her tie the letter to her talon.

The owl flew away.

About three days later, Oliver was getting ready to leave for Quidditch practice when there was a tap on the window. He was a famous Quidditch player so his agent usually handled his fan mail; he only used his personal owl to write to his parents and friends. So this must be his response from Percy but he didn't recognize the tiny owl. He knew Percy had a Great Horned Owl named Hermes unless he borrowed Ron's owl Pigwidgeon for some reason.

"Mr. Wood?"

He turned to see his agent, Ambrose or rather Bo. "Oh, hello. Can you open the window to let that owl in. I don't recognize it."

"Sure, Mr. Wood."

"You can call me Oliver."

Bo walked over to the window and pulled it open. The owl hooted as it flew in and landed on the table.

"It's a pretty owl," Bo said, stroking the feathers before inspecting it.

"Does it look suspicious?"

"No, she looks fine. Her name is Brownie according to her name tag," he said gently, taking the letter from her talon and holding it out towards Oliver.

Oliver took the letter from him and opened it cautiously.

"So, who is the letter from?"

Oliver said. "A woman named Christina. She said that Percy's owl was injured and they'll take good care of him."

Bo nodded.

"I'll write her back after practice. I'm already late."

"Unless you want me to write her back for you, that is my job."

"No, I'll write her back."

"Okay."

Oliver said goodbye to Bo and left to practice. A few hours later, he came home, grabbed a cup of tea and sat down to respond to Christina's letter.

Dear Christina,

Thanks for letting me know, Christina. His name is Hermes, just so you know.

Oliver

He finished the letter and walked to send it.

18/11/02

Dear Oliver,

Thank you. Oh, that's from Greek Mythology.

21/11/02

Dear Christina,

It's my best friend's owl. My owl's name is Quaffle. That's a sports term.

Oliver

24/11/02

Dear Oliver,

Oh, I'm a pretty big sports fan. Especially rugby. That surprises many people since I'm generally very soft spoken like my dad. My favorite team is the British Lions.

Christina

27/11/02

Dear Christina,

Oh, that's cool. I'm pretty outgoing and bold. You seem a lot like my best friend. Were you rather smart?

Oliver

29/11/02

Dear Oliver,

I was near the top of my class. There were a couple people ahead of me but I was pretty smart.

Christina

Dear Christina,

It's a shame that my best friend has a girlfriend. I think you'd make a good match for him.

Oliver
