Chapter 17 Heart of Glass

Izzy's POV

"Okay guys, let's take it from the tutting." I told them.

"Yeah!* Everyone exclaimed.

"Can we just scoot back a bit?" I asked as they scooted back a bit.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8!" I started counted.

Right now we were just rehearsing our regionals routine.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8." I counted again.

"1 and 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8!" I said.

"Okay, Stormy, where's your spacing?" I asked while pointing at her.

"I dunno." Stormy answered as I walked over to her.

"...You should go right here." I told her as I showed Stormy where her spacing should be.

"I'm pretty sure that's where you put Bart." Stormy said.

"Right." I answered as I pointed to where Stormy's standing.

"So I guess you're here." I said.

I feel like there's a little bit of tension in the room since I announced the new dance positions.

"One more time and then we'll go on to the acro-section." I told them as they all got back into first positions.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8..." I said.

Owlette's POV

"Hey Owlette, what's up?" Bart asked as we were talking in zoom while he was in school and using our ipads.

"Not much, how are you?" Bart wanted to know.

"I'm pretty good." Bart answered.

Right now I was videoing chatting with Bart because his mother won't allow him to come to the studio.

"It's going good, actually um you're...second row." I told him.

"Of course I'm in the middle row I didn't even have to audition!" Bart exclaimed.

""You'll never guess who's in the back row - Stormy." I told him.

"I caramba, Stormy's vin the back row?" Bart asked shocked.

"Yeah, Izzy just put her in the back row." I said.

"Man, that's funny hahaha." Bart laughed.

"So, anyway how's math going?" I wanted to know.

"It's good, it's good." Bart told me.

"Don't worry about it, you and I will be going on that date in no time." Bart said.

"Bart Simpson, you are making me blush." I told him.

"Bart and I have our own little deal. If he gets a 70% on his next math test then I will go on a date with him.

Bart's POV

"Owlette, please test me?" I asked.

"Okay! What is the volume of a cube that is 2 by 2 by 2 inches?" Owlette asked.

"Um, 2 by the volume of...? Uh 39 inches?" I said.

"Really?" Owlette said.

"No no no wait wait I know this! It's 34 cubic inches." I said.

"No." Owlette exclaimed.

"It's somewhere in the 30s." I said as Owlette giggled.

"No it's not even close to the 30s!" Owlette said.

Owlette's POV

I feel a little doomed the fact you know that Bart doesn't know the answer to that simple math question. I just hope he can start taking this seriously and really focus.

"Can you please like think like seriously think about it?" I wanted to know I said as Bart placed his finger over the camera.

"Uh I'm losing signal..." Bart exclaimed.

"I...I can't...I...I can't...can't hear you." Bart said as he was pretending to do the static noise.

"Bart can you hear me?" I kept calling his name.

Bart's POV

I then removed my finger from my camera.

"Nah, I'm totally playing girl." I told her.

"You stop playing all the time we're counting on you." Owlette said.

"I know." I answered.

Owlette's POV

I may be disappointed. I did kind of wanted to go on a date with him but you know it's also more important that he gets here for regionals. So that we can work on our routine.

"I actually have to go though." Bart said.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"Wait, wait, it's 8 cubic inches." Bart said as I smiled.

"See ya." Bart exclaimed.

It seems like every math question Bart gets right kind of shows that he likes me even more. Let's just say I hope Bart aces the test.

Jake's POV

As I was standing by my locker texting, Lisa walked over to me.

"Hey, Jake." Lisa said.

"Hey, Lisa." I exclaimed.

"How are you?" Lisa wanted to know.

"I'm good. You?" I asked.

"I feel like I was switched at birth and woke up in troupe B." Lisa told me.

"Like." Lisa exclaimed.

"I know." I told her.

"I miss it so much." Lisa said.

We had it all of these plans. I promise her we would get her back into Troupe A but I don't see how that's possible now.

Izzy's POV

"Hi, Izzy." Lisa said as I walking over to her.

"Jake, can I speak to you for a minute please?" I asked.

"Sure." Jake exclaimed.

"Oh." Lisa said as she walked away while Jake and I started to talk about how Stormy was not even trying in the dance.

Stormy's POV

While I was bouncing my legs in the waiting room for my audition, I was starting to get nervous. Waiting in the waiting room is the scariest thing ever. I've never had an audition before so I am really nervous. I began to watch the girl auditing before me. There were now a million things running through my head. I'm trying to see what the girl in the room was doing. Finally the girl's audition ends. And the director seems to like her so if I try what she's doing he'll like me. I then watch the girl leave.

"Okay, Stormy?" The director came out and called for me.

"Yup, hi." I said.

"Hey!" The director exclaimed.

"How are you?" The director wanted to know.

"I'm good thanks!" I told him.

"May I please have your picture and resume?" The director said as I handed the two items.

"Awesome!" The director said.

"Thanks!" I thanked him.

"So, they are inside the audition room." The director said.

As the director looked through my resume, I was smiling.

"Wow! A lot of dance experience." The director said with a smile as well.

"Yeah." I told him.

"And what about the acting?" The director wanted to know.

"Not much experience on here I can see." The director said.

"Um, have you done much of it?" The director wanted to know.

""I'm still learning." I told him.

"Okay."' director exclaimed.

"Cool, you're ready to go?" The director said.

"Yeah!" I answered.

"Uh, I just had a question because it didn't tell me. What accent did you want it in?" I asked.

"Just your regular voice is good." The director told me.

"I can also be really dramatic." I told him.

"Do what your comfortable with." The director exclaimed.

"Also, do what you think is going to be the best example of who you are." The director said.

"Okay." I answered.

"Yeah." The director said.

"Awesome." I exclaimed.

"Why don't you so your thing." The director exclaimed as I started.

"You got questions! We've got answers! Call us today, because a great education is a just phone call away." I said as I turned around to show it.

I feel confident in what I did. The casting director he had a smile on his face I'm really feeling like everything's going great right now.

"Wow that was great! You can turn around now." The director said as I turned around.

"You can turn around, thank you!" The director exclaimed.

"Really." I said.

"So, much yeah that was oh...so good." The director said as I smiled and shook his hand.

"How about you go take a ten minute break and we're going to bring you back in and meet the director." The director said.

"Okay." I answered.

"Yeah!" The director said.

"Awesome!" I answered.

"He's going to love what you've got." The director exclaimed.

"Oh my goodness! That's great." I said.

"Thank you, thank you so much!" I thanked him.

"You are welcome thank you." The direct

Once casting director told me to stick around, this was like the best thing ever. That's when I decided to try and phone John and tell him the great news but unfortunately it went to voicemail.

"Hey John it's stormy, I'm at my audition and it's seems to be going really well. The cast interactive wants me to meet the director, so I'll let you know when I'm done and I'll see you later okay? We'll talk about it later okay bye." I said while leaving the voicemail ending the call.

John's POV

As I was listening to Stormy's voicemail, it ended. So I called her back but no answer as I sent her my voicemail.

"Hi, Stormy it's um John! So, I got your voicemail, congratulations you're going to do amazing. I was just calling to say I really needed to talk to you. Call me back when you get this message. Bye." I exclaimed ending the voicemail.

When Stormy didn't answer, in my head I know she's busy. Having her not pick up right now Just makes me feel so alone.

I need a friend and she's all I have.

Jake's POV

As I was sitting on the couch feeling sad, I saw Izzy walk in.

"Hey, Jake." Izzy exclaimed as I smiled and then turned my head by to the couch.

That's when Izzy sat down next to me.

"So... how's it going?" Izzy asked.

I'm fine, I'm good." I told her.

"Really?" Izzy said.

"Yup." I answered.

"Listen, your position in the line is still good and with practice, you will get to the front." Izzy assured me.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, Jake I would never keep you in the same position forever." Izzy exclaimed.

"Your dancing is really good." Izzy said.

Izzy, telling me that I'm a good dancer picks me a little bit.

"So, how is Stormy doing with the whole not being together anymore with Cubby?" I asked.

"I don't know, but my question is how is Cubby feeling about not being with stormy anymore? Cubby's been acting kind of weird. Have you noticed that?" Izzy asked.

"Yeah, but I'm sure it's nothing." I told her.

Owlette's POV

As I was sitting down on the bench instead of A, I was riding down notes and flash cards for Bart.

That's all the drama and craziness that has been going on at the studio it's a great way to just kind of get my mind on something else. That's when pirate princess walked over to me and sat down next to me.

"Hey, Owlette what are you doing?" Pirate Princess asked.

"Making flashcards for Bart." I answered.

""For Bart?" Pirate Princess said.

"Yeah." I answered.

""What's going on between you guys?" Pirate Princess wanted to know.

"Nothing we're just friends." I told her.

"Hmm." Pirate Princess said.

"I'm just helping him with math. I'm serious there's nothing in between us going on." I exclaimed.

"He is in the second row we do need him for regionals." I said.

It's just typical Pirate Princess, she's just taking for gossip like she always does. So I'm just not going to give it to her.

"I've seen the way he looks at you differently more than "just friends." Pirate Princess exclaimed.

"He gives you those googly eyes." Pirate Princess told me as we both laughed.

"I'm telling he likes you." Pirate Princess exclaimed as she got up and walked away.

Izzy's POV

It was ballet stretch class time, and Peter was teaching it.

"A 5, 6, 7, 8 tondu, and close." Peter said as we followed him.

"Good." Peter exclaimed.

"Pirate Princess, really engage your core tuck your pelvis." Peter said as he was teaching her to lower her back as she straightens her back.

"Good, nice, very good!" Peter exclaimed.

As John turned to me, he started to speak.

"I heard your conversation with Stormy Izzy." John said.

"You did?" I asked.

"Yeah." John answered.

"What did she say? What did you guys talk about?" I asked.

"Everyone!" John answered.

"Wait everything?" I said.

"Yeah." John exclaimed.

"I'm really sorry." I apologized.

"Listen, I think I should be in the front row." John said as I was shocked.

"What?" I asked.

"You'll happily move to me back." John told me.

"Really?" I questioned.

"Why?" I wanted to know.

"I want to be in the front." John said.

"I'll think about it." I told him.

"Okay." John answered as he turned back around.

John's POV

As was in Peter's Cafe, having a drink I saw Stormy come over and sat down.

"Hey girl." I said.

"Hey, what's up?" Stormy wanted to know.

""I heard you talking to Jake and you were right." I said.

"Back row?" Stormy asked.

"And Bart, who wasn't even there..." I said.

"Bart didn't even try and here I am working my hardest." And it really didn't matter the decision was already made up." I told her.

"Whatever it just goes to show how much better and read Jessica pretty much forgot about us now." Stormy exclaimed.

"How is your audition?" I wanted to know.

"I don't want to talk about it." Stormy said.

"Why not? When you called you sound ecstatic." I said.

"Yeah, but that was before it turned into a train wreck." Stormy told me.

"Yeah you sounded so happy, I thought you had got it for sure." I thought.

"Well, after that casting director made the director come watch me, long story short it was just to make fun of me. He made me do it in a Shakespeare voice." Stormy exclaimed.

"Shakespeare?" I asked.

"Yeah." Stormy answered.

"Were thou upset?" I said.

"It was like "if you have a question we have answers." Stormy exclaimed.

"Thou art shall call!" I told her.

"Exactly." Stormy said.

"Like disaster and they were at me it's not funny!" Stormy exclaimed.

That's when we both ended up laughing.

"I would laugh at you too!" I said as we continued to laugh together.

"Stormy, I'll be your Romeo." I exclaimed.

Stormy is honestly the only bright spot in my life right now.

"So, we can only go up from here." I exclaimed.

"I know seems like it." Stormy answered.

At this point, I feel like Stormy and I need a fresh start.

Izzy's POV

As almost everyone was in studio A for rehearsal I was just about to speak.

"Everyone guys, I have just one change that I want to make. Just a minor change. Uh, I'm going to follow up on John's request and switch him and me." I told them as Peter and Red Jessica were confused.

"Oh. Okay." Peter exclaimed.

I was so caught up in changing the lines for John that I forgot to run it by Peter and red Jessica I just hope I don't get in trouble for this.

"So you're in the back?" Cubby exclaimed.

Yeah... I was really harsh on John during his audition and he did really well." I told them.

"Yeah he did well, but you're one of our best dancers." Jake told me.

"I know just trust me guys, it's for the best. All right?" I said.

"Let's get started and rework it." Peter exclaimed but apparently that's when Owlette camera running in with bad news panting.

"Oh my God is she sweating?" Catboy asked.

"Guys!" Owlette called us.

"Yeah." We all answered.

"I got bad news, John and Stormy are leaving the studio.

"What?' we all questioned as Peter spit out his coffee.

"When did you have time to buy coffee?" Red Jessica asked.

I don't know what we're going to do this is really bad news.

"I am outrage I tell you, OUTRAGED!!" Peter exclamed as we all nodded our heads.
