A/N: This is where I try to add in canon moments from the show while also taking my own liberties with them. So, some things might seem familiar and some moments might not work with the timeline, but I am trying to keep it in line with the show as best as I can. Enjoy! Leave some comments/reviews please!

It was night two of the stay in Guantanamo Bay as Tony lay awake on his pillow, staring up at the ceiling, his thoughts only on Paula Cassidy, the agent he just met who had been stationed in Cuba. He hated that Gibbs made him search her apartment. It made him feel lousy. Especially since he trusted her. He knew in his mind that that sounded silly considering he had just met her. But there was something about her. Something he saw in her that night as they danced and flirted at the bar that Gibbs told him to go to to find her. He really expected to find some double agent or some slimy female spy, but instead, he found Paula to be loyal and fun and charming. And she truly didn't seem like a double crosser to him. Perhaps he was just that terrible at reading women, but everything Paula said seemed genuine to him and he felt like a bug that deserved to be crushed under her heel once Gibbs chose him over Kate to go through Paula's personal stuff that night.

He let out a sigh before he heard a ding come from his cell phone on the nightstand beside his bed. He turned his head to look at it before picking it up to read the text he had gotten from Abby.

"How's it going?" She asked him with a semi-colon followed by a parenthesis symbol to indicate a winking smiley face.

"Lousy." Was all he sent back.

"Uh oh. What's wrong?"

Tony proceeded to tell her the situation about Paula and how he wasn't even thinking about Kate right now, because he was sure that Paula was a better match for him, but he was pretty sure that he had no chance now after the way things went tonight and he hated feeling suspicious of Paula when they found out that their victim had a copy of her apartment key. He then went on to explain to Abby that he woke up next to a "blood-thirsty" Iguana and that Cuba was swimming with them.

Abby laughed as she read his texts about the iguana and she used her random knowledge of such things to try and explain to Tony how to keep iguana away from his room. Tony then told her that he would NOT be getting garlic spray to spray his bed.

Before Tony could text her back, his cell phone rang and he answered it. "Hey, Abs."

"Hey, why don't you try apologizing to her?" Abby said on the other end.

"To the iguana? I don't know if it was even a girl-"

"No, Tony. Not the Iguana. The agent. Paula Cassidy or whatever her name is. Apologize to her and just let her know that you're just doing your job and following orders. She's an agent too. I'm sure she'll understand." Abby tried to convince him.

"It doesn't matter, Abby. It'll never work anyway. She's stationed all the way out here and-"

"I swear to god, Tony Dinozzo, if you mention Rule 12…"

"No, no. I wasn't gonna. I was just gonna say that…she's too good for me anyway." He admitted, suddenly wondering why he said that out loud to her.

"What makes you think that?" Abby genuinely wondered.

"Just a vibe I get. Doesn't matter. Whatcha doing?" He asked her to change the subject. "What time is it there anyway?"

"We're in the same time zone, Tony." Abby held back a laugh.

"Oh. Right." He looked at his clock which read that it was almost 2 AM. "Shit. Why am I still awake?"

"Because sleep is for the weak." Abby joked.

"You never answered my question." He told her.

"I know." She said.

"Well…are you gonna tell me or no?" Tony softly laughed. "What are you doing?"

"I'm….sitting on the sink in my bathroom." She told him.

"Why are you sitting on the sink in your bathroom?" Tony asked, putting a hand up into his own hair and mindlessly pulling at some strands of it.

"Because I'm talking to you." She told him.

"Why did you need to g-" He stopped as he realized. "Is McGee there?"

"Maybe."

"At two o'clock in the morning?"

"Yupp."

"I see. So you guys-"

"Why does it bug you so much that I'm with him, Tony?" She wondered.

"It doesn't. You two are just the real definition of Opposites Attract. That's all." He stopped fiddling with his hair. "So how was it?"

"You mean was it better than sex with you?" Abby smirked, knowing how Tony thinks.

"That's not what I was asking." He countered. "I'm just asking cause you're on the phone with me."

"You're my friend and you sounded really upset. So I wanted to hear your voice and make sure you were okay. Tim's asleep and I didn't want to wake him. So I came in here to talk to you. Is that really a crime?" She asked lightheartedly.

"I can't believe you did that for me." He said, genuinely surprised that someone would care enough about him to call when he was upset.

"What are friends for?"

"Drinking buddies?" He responded as if it were a question.

"Are you saying that no one has ever called you to just check in and see how you were doing?" She asked him, her tone slightly sad now.

"Besides my father…who usually has an ulterior motive, no. No one ever has." He admitted.

"Hm….Well, now someone has. And maybe I should do it more often."

"Yeah, I'd like that." He smiled to himself before realizing how much of 'a sissy' that made him sound and he cleared his throat. "I mean, yeah. Sure."

Abby could tell he was trying to sound more manly and he just smiled to herself, seeing right through him. "So are you?"

"Am I what?"

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah….Yeah, I am." He said genuinely. "Thanks, Abs. We should get to sleep, huh?"

"Yeah, probably." She nodded to herself. "Goodnight, Tony."

"Night, Abby." He said before hanging up the phone and smiling at it in his hand for a second before he chuckled to himself and placed it back down on his nightstand. He had a true friend for once. It felt amazing.

After Abby pulled her cell away from her ear, she closed it and hopped off the bathroom sink with a bounce. Turning to look at herself in the mirror, she fiddled with her bangs before leaving the bathroom and going to lay back down with McGee in her coffin.

After the case in Guantanamo Bay was solved, Paula Cassidy was asked to head back to D.C. with Gibbs' team to wait for reassignment. Tony was all smiles on the flight home as he went to sit with her, showing her all the cool gadgets the private jet had. Paula listened and acted enthused for him which only made Tony smile more considering on the flight TO Gitmo, Kate and Gibbs both ignored his fascinations with the plane.

"Well, thanks for listening to me ramble." He said to Agent Cassidy as they deboarded the jet when they landed.

"Any time." Paula chuckled as she adjusted her bag on her shoulder. "See you 'round, Dinozzo."

Tony waved at her as she left to get in the car that was sent to take her to a hotel for now. Once she was gone, Tony let out a long groan with a stretch. "What a great week that was, huh?"

"Yeah. I'm sure the Iguana feel the same way." Kate teased him.

"I'm ready to go home and get some sleep." Tony said with a grin. "Eh, Boss?"

"We're not going home." Gibbs said, walking passed them and toward the parking lot where they left their vehicles. "Meet you at the shooting range."

"Haha! Another good one, Boss." Tony laughed, assuming that was another one of the bad jokes that turn out not to be jokes, though Tony really wished that that one WAS a joke. "He's joking, right?" He asked Kate.

"I don't think so." Kate replied with a groan.

"Don't make me wait." Gibbs shouted to them as he got into his truck and drove away.

"He's definitely not joking." Tony's smile faded in realization.

"Great." Kate sighed before they both headed for their cars.

"Very cool. Where can I get one of these?" Abby asked Tony at his desk later that same day as she poked her fingers through two bullet holes in Tony's NCIS baseball cap.

"You can have THAT one." Tony pouted from his chair as he struggled to get his computer to work.

Abby looked at him for a second. "Really?" She smiled and placed his hat over her pigtails. "Thanks." She moved closer to the right side of his chair, looking at his screen. "Sooo you said you needed help?"

"Yeah, I'm trying to pull up the records on a dead Marine, but my security access won't go through." He gritted his teeth, holding back how frustrated he was getting as he folded his hands in front of his face with his elbows on the desk.

"That's because computers can sense fear, Tony." Abby joked before receiving a fake smile from the man beside her. The dark-haired woman chuckled. "Name." She said as she moved to stand directly behind him.

Her arms wrapped around Tony from behind as she leaned over him, her cheek almost simultaneously pressing against his temple as her long arms reached down to type. Tony tried to act unphased by her actions, but all he could think about was THAT night and how her arms felt around his neck while they kissed.

"Major Jim Kidwell. He was working at Quantico while training teams." Tony barely remembered to answer her since he was only thinking about their closeness now. She continued to type as he turned his head a little to try and look at her over his shoulder. "Is that a new perfume, Abby?"

"Yupp. I made it myself." She smirked when he noticed. Though she did NOT make it for him. She was still glad that he paid that much attention to her now. "You like it?"

"It smells like gunpowder." He smirked as well, finding that to be super badass.

Abby smiled and looked at him beside her. "Sweet, huh?"

"Hmm…" Tony hummed, about to respond to her when she stood up straight and let go of him.

"There's your problem." She said, getting right back into work mode. "Your security clearance isn't high enough." She told him as he just stared at his computer with both confusion and frustration. "How did he die?" Abby asked him.

"That's kind of what Gibbs wants me to find out." Tony told her.

"Then it sucks to be you." Abby smiled more, holding onto his hat on her head while she walked away and headed back to her lab.

Tony continued to stare at his computer with gritted teeth before his frustration got the better of him and he began to tap any key on the keyboard aggressively. He was angry with the computer, yes, but mostly annoyed with Abby's insistence on teasing him whenever she had the chance.

He thought about what Abby had said on the phone when he was in Gitmo…That he should have told her if he wanted to spend another night with her when he had the chance. He began to wonder if maybe SHE wanted another night with him. Why else would she have said that?
