Chapter 4
Arrivals- Healer Awiel
"Enjoying the weather?" Tauriel looked down from her perch to see Fili hobbling his way towards her. There was finally a break in the weather today. It was not snowing nor raining as it had been for the past several days. Instead, a bright warm sun accompanied the crisp cold of the day. She had found a large ruin of Dale just outside the city facing the Lonely Mountain. It was lying near the Running River, far away enough that the primary sound her eras picked up was the calm of the rushing water nearby. She'd desperately needed a break from all the complaining in the tent.
"Enjoying the peace and quiet," she teased.
"We are dwarves Tauri. We are loud by nature. Something you're going to have to get used to if you plan on sticking around." Fili teased back. Tauriel smiled at the nickname Fili had given her and the notion of her staying with dwarfs.
"So Bofur has reminded me on several occasions," she said turning her body to face towards him, "Is Thorin done complaining about his foot?" she asked smiling down at Fili from her perch. Early that morning it was discovered that he was limping more. After much back and forth between him and his nephews he allowed Tinu to look at his foot. It was swollen, had doubled in size and to Tauriel's trained eye was becoming infected. Tinu had some choice words for the King Under the Mountain. Tinu berated him for keeping his own needs hidden and Tauriel had agreed with her elf friend whole heartedly. How was it that he dictated to her, Kili and Fili that they needed to heal and rest but would not listen to his own advice. Those words came harshly out of her own mouth before as she stormed from the tent not waiting for the stubborn dwarf to respond.
"Your little outburst as you were leaving shut him up good. Bilbo had some choice words for him as well. Then shortly after you left the fancy healer from Lothlorien arrived. She looked at Thorin's foot and his arm too. Never seen my uncle so quiet around an elf before."
"Awiel is here?" Tauriel asked.
"Aye. Looking at my brother now. That's why I came to fetch you for. She's about done with him and wants to talk with you." Tauriel nodded, stood and in one swift leap, landed next to Fili on the ground.
"You make that look so easy," he stated with a grimace. Tauriel just shrugged and replied,
"It is."
"For you maybe. A dwarf would not have landed so gracefully." Tauriel just smiled and walked back with Fili to the campsite. It had been a month now and there were still many dwarves, humans and elves recovering from the battle. It would be a most welcomed site to see less tents camped outside the city of Dale. Even those that were healed well enough had to remain in the makeshift shelters. Erebor and Dale were not quite habitable yet, but Dain had reported that cleanup was moving along quickly and some of the Royal quarters were about done. Thorin was still adamant about not moving back in just yet and told Dain to start getting some of the main living halls repaired and cleaned so their kin could move back in first.
"I want the furnaces running, water flowing, and homes ready for when Dis and our people get here." He said with conviction. Dain said it would be done and returned to the lonely mountain earlier that week. She looked to the dwarf walking next to her and smiled once more. He had tripped on a tree root making him grumble something in Khuzdul, and she had a feeling it was not anything nice. He was like a Legolas version of a dwarf. Loyal, fierce and an amazing fighter. He showed humor more often than her old friend did but it was very similar as well. Dry, witty and sarcastic. She would never tell him that he reminded her of an elf but considering that they were starting to form their own relationship she could tell him he was becoming like an old friend to her. Maybe even like a brother.
"You think Thorin would let me learn your language?" she asked, breaking the quiet rapport that had settled between them as they walked. Fili just laughed,
"We use it around you all the time, Kili especially, and you know some of phrases already," Fili stated.
"Yes, but like actually learn it. More than the occasional phrase here and there. The history and its origins. I want to learn about you, about Kili's ancestry, about dwarves because I do plan to stick around if you all let me." Tauriel hoped the sincerity showed in the tone of her voice.
"Learning about us should be no problem. I can have Ori look through the Erebor library for books you can read through. Once Balin has a moment to breathe I'm sure he can teach you some things too. However, our actual language might be harder to acquire. Uncle adores you, so knowing some basic phrases and words get a blind eye but actively learning the language is a whole other matter. I think he would have to get permission from the other Dwarf lords. It's a secret language for a reason and it doesn't help that you are an elf." Tauriel tried to not let the disappointment show on her face, but Fili must have seen it.
"Let me talk to Kili. Two heads are better than one and when it comes to us, we usually get our way when we want something. No promises though."
"The fact you are willing to try to do so much for me means a lot. Thank you, Fili." When they entered the royal tent Tauriel noticed a very regal looking elf sitting across from Thorin at the table. Her ears picked up on the end of their conversation,
"You just need to find something that won't make him sleep like the dead then?" Thorin inquired. The elf gave a melodic laugh to Thorin's query,
"Yes. I will look through my books this afternoon. I am more accustomed to human and elf anatomy. Dwarves are somewhat a mystery to me."
"I will call for our healer, Oin. He can help answer any questions you might have."
"That is very generous. I would be honored to have his assistance." The healer replied then turned to look as Tauriel and Fili entered the tent.
"Tauriel, gel na govannon- cin." Awiel stood up and it seemed she glided on her feet as she walked over to meet her. The healer was tall. At least a head taller then Tauriel. She had the custom ice blue eyes and long blonde hair that most of the elves from Lothlorien bore. She had high cheekbones that made her seem severe looking but in contrast, her oval mouth gave off a soft, gentle tone to her features. She wore a simple lilac gown with a neckline that curved just above the collar bones, long fitted sleeves and a slight train to the back. It shifted in various hues as she moved, and it flowed like water would over skin. She wore no jewelry and her hair remained unbraided, but half of it was pulled back in a silver-adorned clip that was shaped like a leaf. It was obvious that with just a single look at the healer one knew she was high in status. Awiel bowed to Tauriel in respect, and she returned the gesture in kind.
"A cin" Tauriel replied.
"Tul!" Awiel motioned for Tauriel to come sit on her bed. At the healer's request, Tauriel realized that she was quite nervous. Where was Kili? She desperately looked around for him, only to see that her beloved dwarf was on his own bed, deep in sleep.
"I'm right here," Fili said noticing the concern that must have flashed across her eyes, "and so is Thorin. We won't leave you." Awiel also voiced her own words of encouragement.
"Av-'osto sui im thir an cin," and then she instructed Tauriel to lay down on the bed, "Thorin, if you and your nephew can sit on either side of her. I will need for you to be that anchor Tinu has talked to you all about. Each of you will need to hold a hand." The healer glided back over to the table where Tauriel saw several vials and potions lying about. Most of them had been used, probably for Kili, but there were a few left over. The one that caught her eye was a small, clear vase shaped vial that contained a bright, teal color liquid that Awiel happened to pick up. Tauriel shuffled around a little in the bed, propping pillows and making sure they were ready for whatever the healer had in mind. Fili and Thorin were sitting on either side of her in the large bed. Fili to her left and Thorin to her right and both reaching to hold her hands in theirs. The healer explained the purpose of the drink as she walked back over and passed the bottle to her.
"It's a potion of my own making. It will put one into a light sleep. Enough to allow you to enter the world of dreams. It's main purpose, however, is to let the dreamer talk in their sleep. This way you can describe to me what you are doing." Tauriel was impressed with the healer already after hearing she could keep Thorin quiet during an exam but more so now that this being could easily create such a complicated medicine. Dropping Thorin's hand momentarily to drink the liquid, which was sweet and pleasant compared to the concoctions Tinu had been giving her, she got comfortable and laid down to sleep. Just as she drifted off, she heard "we are right here" come from Thorin and then she saw black.
It felt like she was floating. Was she floating? Everything was blurry and dark. She could hear fighting and yelling. A whisper of a voice, "where are you?" She didn't know but wait. She was running. Looking. She was yelling and her body seemed to stop on its own. It was cold, grey. Snow was lightly falling. "What do you see?" the voice whispered again. Rocks, no ruins of some kind made of stone. She looked up and saw grey sky. She looked down. Her body went numb. Red. She saw red blood pooling around a blonde hair dwarf. She blinked once and then twice. She screamed first from utter shock and then from anguish. The name of said dwarf tried to tare from her voice. It came out as a whisper. She thought she felt a squeeze of her left hand but saw nothing. She looked down once more. The body below her was twisted and mangled. The eyes still wide open but those once blue eyes were now void of life. Her stomach coiled and bile rose in her throat. She wanted to help but her body continued to move forward, faster. She was looking for something. "What are you looking for?" the voice asked. "His brother," she found herself saying. Then she managed to hear herself yell a name. The name of the dwarf she was looking for. This time she felt a squeeze on her right hand, but she still saw nothing. Things were still blurry. Nothing seemed to make sense as she moved. "Where are you going?" the voice whispered once more. "Up some stairs, no in tunnels, no I'm on a cliff. I can't save him!" she cried out. "Who?" the voice asked. "Meleth nin," was all she could say. He was trying to fight off an orc. A very large orc. A deeper voice urgently whispered to her, "Orc? What orc? Do you know its name?" She peered at the large orc holding the helpless dwarf by its neck. A large spear in his hand. His sole purpose to kill another descendant of Durin. Watching as the spear plunges into the dwarf's chest, she is helpless to do anything as empty eyes look towards her and fade. Her heart shatters and breaks into millions of pieces. He died to protect her. "Bolg" she whispers darkly. She suddenly feels both of her hands being squeezed but still nothing is there. Now she is falling, the orc along with her only for her to land hard on some stairs. The orcs fate is unknown. The pain is immense from both pain and grief. Everything goes dark but when she can see again it is only to be looking up into the eyes of another elf as she lays over the dead body of her beloved dwarf. "Another elf?" whispers the soft, melodic voice from before. She looks into the eyes of the king that refused to come help the dwarfs on Ravenhill. Refused to acknowledge life outside his own walls. Thranduil. There is a very hard squeeze to her right hand this time, but she ignores it. The Elf King is saying things to her. She seems to care about some of his words, but she feels as if she is fading. Her body an empty shell. Other dwarfs have arrived. They have come to take their kin home. To be buried. She is not allowed to follow. Her bright star to be buried in the cold ground. The King Under the Mountain will not let her in Erebor. "Who is the king?" a new third voice asks. The voice sounding a lot like the dwarf she loved but it was not him. "Dain Ironfoot" she finds herself answering. Images are swirling again. A funny looking dwarf leading her from the ruins of Ravenhill. Being allowed to speak with the King Under the Mountain. Walking the down steep stairs into a dark chamber. "How do you feel? How do you look?" the melodic voice asks softly. She was empty and hollow. She is wearing all grey and the vibrance of her red hair had withered and dulled. She is a living ghost. "Where are you now?" it asked once more. She looked around. It was damp and cold. Several torches were lit near where she stood but the rest of the large cavern was shrouded in darkness. She was in the tombs of Erebor. Standing stoic in front of three tombs. Something felt wet. "What?" asked the third voice. "My face" she answered. Tears were streaming down her cheeks. Her body gave way and collapsed in front of the tomb to her left. Her hands tracing over the rune's etched in stone and stopped at a specific set of four letters written in Khuzdul. "I faer nîn *nínia *aden a-govedinc" she whispered to the name on the tomb. She rested her head against the cold stone looking to get closer to the body that lay within. She wished to be in there with him. Her spirit was dead already. Why not her body? It seemed like ages had passed as she wept for the Darrow that was cruelly taken away from her. He had asked her if she could have ever loved him. He told her he loved her. Gave her the rune stone to promise she would come back. She was a fool for not following her heart. For not staying with her dwarf. Eventually the funny dwarf came back but he made no jokes. Her time was done. The King Under the Mountain said she had to leave. How could she leave? She had no where to go. The only thing that mattered to her was in this tomb. "Come back to him here Tauri. To us," said that third voice. Leave to where? She was confused. He was her whole world. How could she leave? Strange pressure squeezed at her hands, but no one was there. Something was trying to pull at her, but she would not go. Not without him. "Echui," came the melodic voice from before. Awaken? Why would she need to wake up? Where was she? She was confused, so confused but she was not going to leave him. "Come back to me berch. Your andr torak is here waiting for you. Your khahay is here," the voice was deep. She knew that voice. She trusted that voice. She closed her eyes and took a deep breathe. Suddenly she was floating again. At first, she panicked but the voices stayed calm and the pressure in her hands steady. This place was not real. She needed to go home. She let the voices she loved bring her back.
Tauriel opened her eyes to see a set of blue eyes staring right back at her. She smiled and whispered, "Iston i nîf lîn." Thorin smiled and wrapped her up in a strong embrace.
"Which means?"
"I know your face," she answered softly and slowly sat up with Fili's help. After Fili had given her his own strong hug, she looked around for Awiel only to spot the healer back at the table mixing up yet another potion. She didn't explain what it was but just handed it to Tauriel to drink. This one was foul tasting.
"From what we heard and saw mellon nin, you are not just dreaming. Something in your mind is allowing you to experience other realities."
"Other realities?" Fili asked looking confused and as did Thorin.
"I don't understand." Tauriel said just as confused as the dwarfs.
"Fate is tricky. One slight change in time can alter one's reality. Twist it so to speak." Awiel was met with blank stares from Tauriel and the two dwarfs beside her. The healer sighed but still smiled.
"Was there anything from your dream of Ravenhill, beside the dwarves dying, that seemed peculiar to you?" Tauriel thought hard. Recalling the dream, it seemed that she and Legolas arrived to Ravenhill after the dwarves did together. What she really knew to be true was they decided it was best to split up. He was faster without her. So, he rode to Dale, and she headed towards Ravenhill to scout for Orcs. She had seen Thorin, Fili, Kili and Dwalin at one point and got distracted. She was watching them when she got captured but, in her dream, she was never captured. She had shown up looking for them instead.
"I was already at Ravenhill when the dwarfs arrived. Legolas and I choose to split up. In my dream I must have made another choice where I showed up late and Legolas was not able to save Fili." She thought harder and recalled the image of Thranduil. His face was full of sorrow. True sorrow and regret. He must have done something, but she couldn't remember what.
"I think it may have something to do with Thranduil. After Kili died he tried to offer me comfort. His face was full of grief. I must have decided to go with Legolas to warn everyone in Dale first. Thranduil was one of the reasons I chose to split from my friend. I did not want to see the elf king after he had banished me. I must have come across him in the other reality that affected when I arrived to Ravenhill." A low growl came from Thorin after hearing Thranduil's name. Tauriel shook her head and gave him a warning look.
"Your choice, Tauriel, to split from your friend changed the fate of the three dwarves here in this tent. For the better. I will work with you and help you accept that yes, another fate was awaiting them at one time, but it did not come to pass. You do not have to worry about that fate for them. There is probably more to it. The dream is very strong and when you drift off it does not want to let you go," she gave a quick wink surprising Tauriel and said, "We will get this dream to no longer haunt you. I'm sure you would like to sleep in peace and on your own accord. Maybe without a pile of blankets in between you and Kili one day." Tauriel blushed hard and avoided making any eye contact with the blonde dwarf that was chuckling low under his breath, forgetting she had excellent hearing. Thorin remained quiet but he was probably smiling regardless.
"I appreciate all you have done already." Tauriel said and then got up to head over to where Kili was still sound asleep. Even though she knew she was awake, she wanted to touch him and to kiss him, just to be sure but she did not want to wake him. The other elf must have sensed her desires,
"He took a strong sleeping potion. He will not wake for several hours." Awiel turned to Thorin and reminded him to contact her as need be and that she would see them all tomorrow. He gave her his thanks and assured her he would have Oin meet up with her later. She bowed and bid them all farewell and left with all her bottles and used potions. Tauriel sat on the edge of Kili's bed and ran her fingers through his hair and along his forehead. The dwarf didn't even flinch. Deciding to test out Awiel's prediction, Tauriel leaned down to give Kili a long, deep kiss. While he responded enough to the kiss, he did not wake up. All he did was smile a bit and continue to sleep. She turned to the other dwarfs in the room and laughed.
"He is indeed asleep. If that won't wake him up nothing will!"

Kili was not going to deny the fact that he was going to miss having Tauriel by him at night. Aside from stolen kisses when their companions were sleeping, they did behave themselves. It was the notion of getting to study Tauriel uninhibited that thrilled him. In the darkness of night when the pain in his arm would plague him, he would turn over to watch her sleep. He drank in everything he could about her. How her lips twitched as she dreamed. Watching the light rising of her chest, which he may or may not have pulled down the blankets a bit to see better. He loved the woodsy smell that enveloped her and found himself completely intoxicated by the scent. She was a quiet sleeper but animated. She moved, abet gracefully, a lot as she slept. Kili was thankful that she was quiet and not loud like his brother and Uncle.
Just like the other past several nights, he found himself awake watching his elf but, on this night he just couldn't fall asleep. He also found himself conflicted in his own thoughts. He was glad that Awiel had finally arrived, and while he thoroughly enjoyed getting to observe Tauriel as she slept, he was ready for Tauriel and himself to finish healing from the battle. A section of her hair found its way over the pillow barrier that separated them and Kili mindlessly pick it up to run it through his fingers. It was so smooth and silky compared to his thick tresses. He ran it lightly along his fingers aching to braid it.
Everything that a dwarf wore represented something about them. Clothing, weapons, hair, beads and jewelry all told a specific story about the dwarf. Where they came from, their line of work or lineage, even what house or family they came from. Braiding hair symbolized one of two things. The first was strictly family. Only direct members of a dwarf's family could braid each other's hair. Older members would braid their children's hair for special occasions. Kili could remember getting to practice braiding Dis hair so he could learn to do his own but, in the end, he chose only to wear one small braid hidden in the back that was held in place by the family bead and his own personal bead.
Giving in to his yearning, Kili started to intricately braid Tauriel's hair. He made a mental note to make sure to undo it before she or the others woke up. If a Dwarf was to braid a Darrow-dam's hair it meant that they were courting. That wasn't even close to happening any time soon with Tauriel. He was lucky Thorin was even allowing him to peruse a relationship of any kind with her. What their status was had no description. It was more than friendship and they both knew that they loved each other. What kind of relationship the future held for them was yet to be seen. Could he be allowed to marry her or her him? They really hadn't talked about any of that yet. He wanted to! He wanted to spend the rest of his years with her. If that meant not living in Erebor, then he would make that choice. There were things more important to him than a kingdom and she was high on that list.
The only thing that he would not do was abandon Fili. He would not forsake his brother. Luckily, it seemed his brother would support him when it came to Tauriel. The voice of said brother startled him out of his musings.
"Don't let Uncle see you doing that." Fili came over and quietly sat on the bed. Kili made a face at him when Fili picked up a strand of Tauriel's hair and started to braid it as well.
"And what do you think you're doing then Fi?" Kili whispered back.
"At some point she'll be my sister, if not already," Fili replied making Kili blush, "and we both know I'm the better braider out of the two of us." To emphasize his point Fili ran his hands down the braids of his moustache. Kili just rolled his eyes at his brother. The sad thing was Fili was the better braider and it was just another reason he didn't even try to braid his own hair more.
"Tauri can make a spectacular braid too. I saw her helping Tinu the other day. Maybe she can braid your hair for you at some point. Mahal knows you're shit at it. Which, by the way, your one braid looks like it needs to be redone," Fili gave him a pointed look after the last comment.
"I do want her to fix it, but I need to talk to uncle about it first. Until then the braid is fine for now. I redid it after we had that wonderful bath weeks ago. Amad can redo it when she gets here if it's that bad."
"You know Tauriel would be happy to do it for you. She's an elf. Braiding hair doesn't have the same meaning to elves as it does to us." Fili pressed.
"But it does to me, and it does to Darrow's, so until I talk to Thorin and amad it will have to wait," Kili looked down to see that he was finally done braiding, "I shouldn't even have done this!"
"For you that's not too bad," Fili teased. Kili gave him a sour look as he began to unbraid his work. He had to agree with Fili, it was one of his best braids. Maybe it was her hair or maybe he tried harder because it was her. He looked over to see his brother putting in intricate designs and grimaced even more.
"While we are still on the subject of Dwarven traditions, I had an interesting talk with Tauriel earlier today. Well, she had an interesting but difficult request. Told her I would talk to you about it." Fili said after a few minutes of silence. Kili nodded his head for his brother to continue.
"She wants to learn Khuzdul," Kili just stared blankly at his brother, so Fili pressed on, "Wants to learn about us, dwarves that is. Told her we would find her as much information as we can about our customs but that our language would be tricky. Thoughts?" After Kili was able to process what Fili had just said he let a great sigh,
"I should have seen this coming. I should have talked to Thorin about it. She's been asking me here and there how to say something in Khuzdul. Like the lovesick idiot that I am I tell her."
"Thorin and I aren't any better. I taught her some lovely phrases the other day," Fili laughed.
"Do I even want to know?" Kili asked warily.
"She told me that one of the men in Dale made a very lewd comment towards her when she was out for a walk. So, I told her next time she should reply back with 'men gamul khagun tabooed dan menu khuzi'." It took all of Kili's will power not to laugh out loud. Wiping silent tears from his face Kili could only grin towards his brother. Once he had composed himself, he came up with the only solution he could think of.
"We'll talk to Thorin about it. On a united front. Come up with reasons that she should learn our language. Maybe request a formal meeting with both him and with amad once she gets here? That way they both know we are serious and Tauriel is serious.
"I like that plan little brother. We should let Tauri know tomorrow and start coming up with ideas." Kili nodded his head in agreement. There were several reasons already running through his head as to why Tauriel should learn their language, but he was sure none of them would be very valid. This was going to take some time. As he continued to unravel her locks, a sharp pain shot through his arm making him let out a low hiss. That made Fili pause,
"You ok Ki?"
"I think I need my potions."
"I'll get them for you," Fili said dropping Tauriel's hair from his hands as he got off the bed. Fili was only gone for a few moments when he returned with three bottles and a small glass of water on a tray. Kili's meeting with Awiel that morning managed to relieve him and frustrate him all at the same time. After 30 mins of checking his wound, it was determined that the weapon that pierced him was poisoned.
"So, he needs something like athelas then? Like when Tauriel healed his leg!" Fili had asked excited.
"No. This was no morgul blade and if it was you would have known, or he would be dead by now. I have not seen this poison before, but I have delt with others like it. There are a few potions I want to try." She was a very serious, no-nonsense kind of elf. Kili could see why she would be one of Lady Galadriel's top healers.
"I will warn you Kili, the potions we are going to try will not be fun. They are made for dark spells for a reason. They will most likely make you sick, tired and grumpy and it will take time." Kili nodded his head in understanding, willing to do anything at this point to fully heal, but she had not been lying about the potions making him ill. It took some trial and error that morning to figure out the best order to take the three potions. He had to take them in a certain order so if one didn't stay down, he didn't have to retake the others. The spell damage from the poison she figured out was very slowly eating away the function of his arm. The third drought he was to take was a very strong restorative concoction which helped with pain and in turn made him super ill. The second wasn't any better. It was the primary potion to counteract the poison and it made him just as sick. The first one he took was a tonic to induce sleep once ingested. It was slow to wear off and from her experience left one irritable for several hours. Awiel was positive that it would not make him sick at all, but once consumed it would not be long once it took hold and made him unconscious for several hours. By taking the sleeping potion first he couldn't get sick as the other two made their way through his system.
Once Fili was sent out to fetch his missing elf, they tried out the potions in their final order. It worked but he slept for a better part of the late morning and all afternoon. Seeing that he wasn't waking up anytime soon, not even to Tauriel's coaxing, Awiel advised Thorin that it was probably best to have him only take the potions in the evening, so he didn't sleep during the day, and she cut the potency of the tonic in half.
"She also wants to make sure that you only take the potions when your arm is in intense pain. That is when the healing spells have run out. She is also going to try and work on a potion you can take during the day to help keep the other two from coming up and without having to knock you out. Said she will see you tomorrow." Thorin told him once he woke up. It seemed he missed a lot that morning as he was retold everything that happened with Tauriel and her dreams. It made him ill just thinking she had to go through all that without him but was grateful that his uncle and brother was able to be there in his stead. Thorin had dragged Fili out of the tent briefly to give him and Tauriel some time to talk alone.
"Amralime. Tell me what's on your mind," Kili had asked her.
"Just you. Always you meleth nin. I now know I will be lost without you. When elves lose their soul mate, a part of their own soul dies. I have heard of elves sailing to the undying lands to bury their undying love. To grieve for what they have lost. I fear even that would not console me." They didn't talk much after she had confessed this to him. He didn't really know what to make of it. Until that moment he completely forgot that she was immortal. That she would outlive him. How could he ask her to do that? At the same time she was his one and he was hers. They sat together on a rug near the little tent stove. Legs crossed, his hands holding her in his lap, and their foreheads lightly touching. It was how Thorin and Fili found them once they came back to the tent. Fili helped Kili get comfortable in the bed, both knowing he would quicky pass out once the first potion was fully digested.
"Fi, please make sure to unbraid Tauriel's hair before you go back to bed."
"Not to fear little brother. I'll make sure there is not sign of you or me practicing for later down the road." Kili rolled his eyes and then proceeded to take the potions. One; absolutely gross, two; completely horrid, and three; Mahal let the torture end. Kili laid down, still cursing to himself as he began to fall asleep. That fancy healer elf better come up with at least one better tasting potion or he'll just cut off him arm. Kili must have said that last bit out loud cause Fili responded just as he fell asleep.
"Can't shoot with one arm little brother."
