I don't own Harry Potter.

Dear Mum and Dad,

Thanks for the idea, Mum, you're a real lifesaver. Charlie wrote back and said if we could get Norbert to the tallest tower at midnight on Saturday, he had a couple of friends who would take him on their brooms to Romania where Charlie works, so we don't even have to go to Dumbledore about it.

The problem is that Ron got bitten by the dragon and it got so swollen and green that he was forced to go to Madam Pomfrey. Then Malfoy turned up under the pretense of borrowing one of Ron's books and happened to get the one that had Charlie's letter in it. It's too late to change the plan. We're going to have to hope that the invisibility cloak will be enough to make it work. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have it.

Wish us luck.

Harry

Dear Harry,

Good luck.

Stay safe.

Love,

Dad and Mum

Dear Mum and Dad,

Saturday night was a disaster. It started promising. Hermione and I carried the crate with Norbert inside it under the invisibility cloak all the way to the astronomy tower. In the corridor beneath the tower, we found Malfoy caught by McGonagall. He was trying to explain that I was coming with a dragon, but she didn't believe him and gave him a detention. Once they had left, we went up the tower and met Charlie's friends. They left with Norbert, and we headed back down the stairs, no longer worried, because with Malfoy in detention and Norbert gone, nothing could go wrong.

We met Filch at the bottom of the staircase. In all the excitement, we had left the invisibility cloak at the top of the tower. It got worse. When McGonagall arrived at her office, she had Neville with her. He had heard Malfoy bragging about catching us and had tried to find us to warn us about it.

McGonagall believed we had made up the story of the dragon to get Malfoy in trouble. I've never seen her so angry. She gave all of us a detention and took fifty points each from Gryffindor. The story has already gotten out. Everyone was so looking forward to Slytherin losing the house cup for once that no one but Ron is talking to any of us. Except the Slytherins, who cheer when I go by, which is worse.

I've decided not to meddle in things that don't concern me again. I've had it with sneaking around; it's not worth it.

Harry

Dear Harry,

I'm so sorry you, Hermione, and Neville lost all those points for Gryffindor, but remember, you have no reason to be ashamed. You did it to help Hagrid. Just because no one else knows why doesn't mean you didn't do the right thing, and your father and I are proud of you. When friends are in trouble it is always your business, Harry.

You're mother's right. And don't worry about the rest of the school. My friends and I lost loads of points when we were at school. People don't remember things like this for too long; they'll get over it. In the meantime, stick with Ron and Hermione and try not to pay too much attention to the rest of them.

Good luck with the rest of term,

Love,

Dad and Mum
