Welcome to year two! As of now, I have decided to post two chapters every weekend instead of one because the whole story is written except for a little fine tuning, so why not? Also, I do not own Harry Potter.

.9: Thank you very much! I plan to keep all 7 years in this one story 'cause I think it'll be easier. I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

HARRY JAMES POTTER! WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE YOU THINKING STEALING THAT CAR?! WERE YOU EVEN THINKING, AT ALL?! IN WHAT WORLD IS TWO TWELVE YEAR OLDS HIJACKING A CAR AND FLYING IT ALL THE WAY ACROSS ENGLAND CONSIDERED A GOOD IDEA?! YOU COULD HAVE SENT AN OWL TO HOGWARTS OR WAITED FOR US TO GET BACK, BUT NO! YOU HAD TO STEAL A FLYING CAR AND FLY IT AROUND FOR EVERYONE TO SEE! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS ARE? WE ARE SO DISAPOINTED IN YOU! YOU'D BETTER NOT TRY ANY FUNNY BUSINESS THIS YEAR!

The two howlers ended at the same time. Harry sat stunned, while Ron was so low in his seat that only his forehead could be seen. Hermione looked rather astonished as well, though clearly, she thought they deserved it. "Well," she said finally, "On the plus side, with both going off at the same time, it was really hard to understand them."

Dear Mum and Dad,

I'm awfully sorry about stealing the car. It was a dumb thing to do. Mum was right; we weren't thinking. We sort of panicked when we couldn't get through the barrier and were afraid that you and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley wouldn't have been able to get back through either. I'm sorry,

Harry

Dear Harry,

Don't worry about it too much. It was a dumb thing to do, but I'm not sure anyone's ever been in that kind of a situation before, and I can't guarantee I wouldn't have done the same when I was your age. In fact, I'm pretty sure that we would have done it without the barrier being blocked if there was a flying car handy. Don't worry about your mother. She has an infamous temper, but she's already calming down.

Have a good rest of the year,

Dad

Dear Mum and Dad,

Did you know that we have Gilderoy Lockhart as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor? He's a nightmare! He keeps going on and on about fame and fortune, and how I should wait until I am older to worry about getting noticed and signing photo's.

Wondering where the signing photos came from? A first year named Colin Creevey asked for a signed photo, and Malfoy overheard and let the whole courtyard know. Then Lockhart arrived and went off on how that might look bigheaded and there would be plenty of time when I'm older.

He doesn't have a clue what he's doing either. His first lesson started with a thirty-minute test on his books, and all the questions were about him! Afterwards, he released an entire cage of Cornish pixies into the room and couldn't do anything to stop them causing mayhem.

And here I thought we were going to get a better DADA professor this year.

Lots of love,

Harry

Dear Harry,

Fame catching up to you even more this year, eh?

I'm sorry. I know it can't be easy.

The best thing to do is just ignore him as much as possible.

I don't know why Dumbledore hired him in the first place if he's as hopeless as you say.

Maybe he's trying to prove he's a fraud?

Maybe. Could be the only person who would take the job. Just try to ignore him, Harry. And good luck with the rest of your studies.

Love,

Mum and Dad

Dear Mum and Dad,

Today Oliver woke the whole quidditch team at the crack of dawn. Apparently, he has a new training program which involves being the first team to start training. He talked about his new moves and plays for hours before we finally got out on the quidditch pitch to play. We were only playing for a short while when the Slytherin quidditch team turned up.

They had a specially signed note from Snape giving them the right to play on the pitch, even though Wood had booked the field, in order to train their new seeker. There new seeker is Draco Malfoy, and his father brought the entire team Nimbus Two Thousand and Ones. Ron and Hermione came over to find out what was going on. Malfoy mentioned something about museums bidding for Cleansweeps and Hermione retorted by saying that no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way onto the team. She must have touched a nerve because Malfoy called her a mudblood.

Neither me nor Hermione knew what it meant, but we knew at once it must have been really bad because there was an immediate uproar. Ron took out his broken wand and tried to curse Malfoy to eat slugs, but it backfired and hit him instead. Hermione and I took him to see Hagrid, but he said the only way was to wait for it to stop. Ron explained what mudblood meant. Hagrid was outraged. He said he didn't blame Ron for trying to curse him, but it was probably better not to get into more trouble by succeeding.

It's not right. Hermione is the best in our year, and people think she's less than them! Did you ever have trouble with this, Mum?

Love,

Harry

P.S. My detention is tonight helping Lockhart answer his fan mail. I can't imagine a worse punishment.

Dear Harry,

Pay no attention to losers like Malfoy. He and his family may think they're better than everyone else, but it's a load of rubbish.

Yes, I had to deal with such racism in school. In fact, it was probably worse when we went there, what with Voldemort gathering power. He and his followers wanted to rid the wizarding world of muggle-borns and rule over the muggles. But things are better now he's gone, and most people know it doesn't make any difference. I hope Ron is alright and doesn't get into more trouble. Cursing Malfoy is probably not an acceptable form of defending Hermione.

But flattening Slytherin in your first quidditch match is! Remember, the speed of the broom doesn't matter as much as the skill of the player.

Good luck,

Love,

Dad and Mum

Author's note: I know a lot of the fandom think James would be excited/approving of Harry and Ron flying the car to Hogwarts, while Lily would be mad, but I doubt it. I don't think any parent would be ok with their child driving alone across the country, and that's not even taking into account the flight, breaking the law, and possibly exposing the wizarding world aspects, so I had James be more laid back about it, but still disapproving.

Also, I imagine Harry stayed the last couple of weeks of the summer with the Weasleys and met his parents at the train station.
