I disconnected myself from the headset as we continued to walk towards the closest and latest family that had lost their child, a boy that couldn't have been older than two years old.
The only sounds near us are the sounds of our footsteps as we walk, as I look at Kthepair, no my teammates I can't help but feel as if I'm looking at a picture that was placed on top of another picture.
Aquas bight blue miniskirt and shit along with her blue boots contradict the gray and worn-out appearance of the city they are walking in, yet I can't help but feel my eyes being drawn to her blue eyes and smile.
The woman looks at the world around her like a child that has just been allowed outside and has just started to realize just how big the world around him is.
Kazuma, on the other hand, was different but at the same time similar to Aqua, his green tracksuit stood out amongst the faded colors of whatever the gangs painted on the walls, and yet the green color seemed faded.
It wasn't anywhere near as worn out as the city around them, but it was nowhere as bright as the dress that Aqua wore.
The pair did have other colors on them such as the black sleeves and white shoes that he wears along with his chestnut-colored hair.
Aqua for her part wears a green bow on her chest and white knee-high socks, with a bright purple underskirt that people can see whenever she moves too quickly, her sleeves that aren't attached to her dress has blue trims on both ends.
Yet the pair have trims on their clothes, but while Aqua has her lining her skirt and the part of her sleeve that reaches her shoulder, Kazuma has his at the bottom of his pants and the top of his collar.
Yet as the pair walked in front of me I can't help but admire just how well the two seem to blend and yet I don't fit anywhere with them or the worn-out city street.
The black body suit that I have worn ever since the Doctor handed me to the pair is bright and hasn't lost its color yet, but it doesn't stick out because of how it contradicts everything.
My pink jacket leaves my breast exposed but covers part of my back and the entirety of my arms, which goes together with my pink shoes, but they're the same, they are different from the city but they aren't bright enough to match their way of dressing.
Even if both my shoes and jacket have a gold edge on them, they can't seem to connect with the pair.
"Kazuma, why did you send Gloria away?" I ask our leader.
"She isn't a part of our team."
"It's better if she goes back while she still can, the truth is that if her son didn't show up, I would have taken her home and abandoned the job entirely until she could get herself together."
"If she comes back then she will be one of us, if she chooses to try and reclaim her life, then I hope that she has a good life, but she has to deal with everything that has happened to her before it gets her killed." Kazuma answers me.
We arrive at our destination a house made of wood but, it's surrounded by people and I watch as the bodies of an entire family are carried out.
"Sasha can you check how many of the missing kids' families have died." Kazuma says to me and I find that more than half of the families are either dead or missing.
I send what I found to Kazumas tablet and his headset immediately shows him what I found.
"Okay let's forget about those for now, can you only show us the ones that are still around." he says to me and I do what he says.
I watch as Aqua looks at us confused and so I send her the information, her wrist watch glows and a hologram pops out showing the map of all of the missing kids before switching to the one that displayed everyone that has gone missing, and finally the one that only has the families that remain.
"Are these people receiving money from someone?" Kazuma asks me and as I begin to look into the remaining families' public accounts I'm unable to find anything.
"No." I answer him.
"How about the ones that died?' he asks me and I find that the Arasaka corporation has paid for their cremation.
"A bunch of missing kids, several families that are dead, and a corporation that's paying for their bodies to be dealt with." how does all of this mix?" Kazuma says to himself.
'Come on Kazuma it's obvious that the corporation is stealing the kids and killing their families!" Aqua sys to Kazuma loudly, the fact that she said this so loud made several people turn to look at us.
"I know, but why, the city is full of street kids and there is more than one orphanage in the city, so why did they target these kids?" Kazuma says to aqua who loses her angry expression.
"I get that they targeted the kids because they had something in them, like a talent or genetics that the corporation was looking for, its usually stuff like that, but why did they get rid of their families?" Kazuma asks himself out loud.
"So what now?' I ask Kazuma.
"Normally we would talk to the people that knew them, like their neighbors or coworkers, but it's better if we head to the next one for now," Kazuma says to me as he looks at the officers glaring at the crowd of people between them and us.
