I'm so sorry I missed two updates! Last weekend was my cousin's wedding, so I was super busy with family, and I was going to tell y'all not to expect an update that week the weekend before, but that weekend I was helping clean the house cause so many people were coming to stay and I completely forgot. Sorry about that.
Dear Mum and Dad,
A lot has been happening. Hermione invited Ron to the Slug Club dinner party. It's kind of weird. It's not the first time I've thought that they might become something more than friends, but they argue so much. What if they start dating and break up and never speak to each other again? Being stuck in the middle of two friends is no fun; I learned that third year.
Quidditch has not been going well. Dean Thomas has replaced Katie as chaser, and he's pretty good, but Ron has been struggling with nerves again. It didn't help that we interrupted Ginny and Dean snogging in an empty corridor. She and Ron had a fight; both of them said some pretty awful things.
Worst of all though, Ginny mentioned that Hermione had kissed Victor Krum at some point, and now Ron's not speaking to her. Seems I was right to be concerned.
I had hoped that his bad mood with everyone would wear off, but it hasn't yet. I managed to get rid of his anger by telling him that if he didn't shape up I'd take him off the team, but he's still convinced we're going to lose and after we do, he's going to resign. Nothing I can say can change his mind. I don't know what's going to happen in the next quidditch match.
Wish us luck,
Harry
Dear Harry,
I'm not surprised Ron and Hermione are heading that direction either. But it seems kind of ridiculous to be that mad at her for something that happened so many years ago.
Oh, I don't know. I'm still not over that guy from...
Don't be ridiculous, James. Anyway, I'm sure Ron and Hermione will make up. They always have in the past.
Good luck with Quidditch. I'm sure you'll do fine; you have a great team. Ron will work through it. He did last year.
Good luck, Harry. Stay safe,
Love,
Mum and Dad
Dear Mum and Dad,
We won the Quidditch match, but... well, I'd better start at the beginning. I pretended to put Felix Felicis in Ron's glass this morning when Hermione was looking. She freaked, told him not to drink it, but he did anyway. Afterwards, he figured out that I put in because conditions were perfect, one of the Slytherin chasers was hit by a bludger the day before and couldn't play, and Malfoy took off sick too. Ron saved every goal, but Hermione was upset with me afterwards, scolding me for putting lucky potion and rigging the game. I told them I didn't do it and explained, but then Ron got upset with Hermione for believing that he could only save goals with help of lucky potion. I had hoped they would make up, but now it's worse than ever.
And that's not the worst of it. The worst is by the time Hermione and I got to the common room, Ron was kissing Lavender Brown. Hermione ran out, and I found her creating these birds. Ron and Lavender came in, Lavender left, and Hermione made the birds attack him.
Now, they're not speaking to each other. All I did was make things worse.
Harry
Dear Harry,
Oh, that is a disaster. I'm so sorry. For all of you; I'm sure Ron's not as happy as he seems. I don't have any advice; I know it isn't any fun to be in the middle of two feuding friends. Try to be there for both of them. I hope it all works out.
Congratulations on the Quidditch at least. That trick was a stroke of genius. It's not your fault about Ron and Hermione.
Good luck with everything,
Love,
Dad and Mum
Dear Mum and Dad,
I'm going to Slughorn's Christmas Party with Luna Lovegood, just as friends, of course. Apparently, there are several girls, headed by one called Romilda Vane, that want to slip me a love potion they got from Fred and George's shop. So, this'll keep them off my trail.
But get this, Hermione's going with Cormac McLaggen! She considered going with Zachariah Smith but decided McLaggen would annoy Ron the most. The measures girls will go to for revenge.
See you in a couple days,
Love Harry
