Dear Mum and Dad,
I found out where Malfoy is going when he disappears off the map! Dobby told me. He goes to the Room of Requirement! And we figured out that he's having Crabbe and Goyle stand outside of it disguised as first year girls using Polyjuice potion. Slughorn had a big vat of it during our first lesson; Malfoy must have nicked some. We've been walking past them all year without noticing. They've been dropping heavy stuff to warn him someone's out there.
I tried to get in, but the room won't change for any variation of 'I need to see what Malfoy gets up to in here.' It simply won't open.
Meanwhile, Ron and Hermione started extra apparition lessons in Hogsmeade today, but I can't because I'm not seventeen yet. Hermione's managed to apparate twice, and me once, but Ron's hasn't done it before today. He was really nervous, but he figures he might as well take the extra lessons and see what happens. But today he got it the first time. He ended up in the wrong place, but he did move.
This afternoon I met Tonks outside the Room of Requirement. She had come up to see Dumbledore, but she wasn't very clear on why. Mentioned rumors, people getting hurt, and how the Prophet was often behind the times.
I was thinking, I'm not sure, but I thought, maybe, she was in love with Sirius? She nearly cried when I mentioned his name, and her Patronus changed to something big, furry, with four legs. I thought maybe it could be him, you know, Padfoot. Hermione says it's a thought, but she still doesn't know why she'd abandon her post and come up to see Dumbledore. What do you guys think?
Love,
Harry
Dear Harry,
I need hardly remind you that going into the Room of Requirement is neither illegal nor evidence for criminal activity. I'm not surprised that you can't get into the room either. It's possible that Malfoy said he needed a place that couldn't be found, but likely the room only responds to a direct location.
Well done to Ron, to all of you! It is a very satisfying feeling to apparate for the first time. I'm sure they'll pass, and it won't be long before you can take the test as well.
As for Tonks, I can guarantee that she's not in love with Sirius, never has been.
First off, their second cousins, and that would be weird.
I can't tell you what's making her look so miserable. Only that there's nothing you can do about it. Hopefully, it will all be cleared up sooner rather than later, but we don't know.
Be careful, Harry.
Love,
Dad and Mum
Dear Dad,
Well, Ginny... um, you see the other day...
I kind of need your advice on something. Through most of the year I've been having, well, I've been thinking about Ginny a little more than before, and, er, they're not older brotherly thoughts.
I wouldn't be mentioning it, but she broke up with Dean the other day, and I'm not sure what to do. On the one hand, I think I might really like her. On the other, she's Ron's sister, and he's my best mate. I'm not going to risk my friendship with Ron for anything.
But all the same...
If I don't make a move, someone else is surely going to. She really is too popular for her own good.
Harry
Dear Harry,
You have good taste, I'll tell you that. Ginny's a great girl.
As for the dilemma you find yourself in, probably the fact that you're Ron's best mate will mean he's more likely to approve you dating his sister than anyone else. He knows you'll treat her right.
On the other hand, I never had any sisters, so maybe I'm not the best judge.
If you really like Ginny, I think you should go for it. But you'll have to decide whether you want to talk to Ron about it before or after you ask Ginny. Either way, I agree, you should go for it soon.
Good luck,
Dad
Dear Mum and Dad,
Katie Bell's back! She's doing really well. But, she doesn't remember anything about who imperiused her. She definitely opened the door to the bathroom, so she figures whoever it was was standing just behind it. So, it was someone who looked like a girl or a woman, but we know polyjuice was stolen, so that's not very helpful.
Also, Ron and Lavender broke up, which seems to have made both him and Hermione very happy. She caught the pair of them coming out of the boy's dormitory together. I was under the invisibility cloak, so she thought they had been alone. Personally, I am quite glad the whole fiasco is finally over.
Love,
Harry
Dear Harry,
We're so glad Katie is back and feeling better!
Absolutely. It's a shame about her not remembering who gave her the necklace, but that isn't uncommon after such curses. Honestly, she should be glad she can't remember the Imperius curse. Most people do, and it's never pleasant.
It's good that Ron and Lavender broke up.
About time too!
Glad things are getting back to normal for you.
And your Quidditch team is back together! Good luck on the championship! I'm sure you'll flatten Ravenclaw!
Be careful, stay safe.
Love,
Mum and Dad
AN: This chapter gave me so much trouble, and I'm still not entirely happy with it. At this point though, I don't think it's going to get any better, so here it is.
