Act 11: The Gift of the Swords ~ The Stones of Evolution!
While the girls are disappearing, they smiled at their princess. "We'll see each other again…in the next life of our future," Sarah reassured Lily as she, May, Rue, Jade, Skylar, and Taylor disappeared without a trace.
"Girls, no." Lily cried out while she was alone.
Within another place, the area was covered with water that sparkled like crystals. But in one area that is part of dry land, there is the same tree that Lily has been to before. Six items that are stuck on different areas of the tree, land, and water have started to glow. Knowing that the time is right for their wielders to take action.
In the area, the Sailor Guardians of the Sacred Gems are lying on a cold surface. That seems to be very peaceful and quiet. Couldn't find the strength to move, but let the darkness take over them. Suddenly, one of them heard water moving. Huh? Skylar thought. What was that? That sound? Suddenly, a sound of a flute played softly in the air. "Uh…" Skylar softly stirs as she wakes. "Huh…what?" she sat up slowly as she lightly rubs her head.
"What's that sound?" May asked as she rubs her head.
"Can someone stop playing that tune," Taylor grumpily asked.
"Don't be mean Taylor," Skylar scolded her.
"I wasn't asking you, Blitzie." Taylor lowly growled.
"Oh good, you're up." A child's voice spoke through the air. The girls turned, seeing a young boy standing with a flute in his hands.
"Uh…hello," Sarah greeted.
"Hello," the boy bowed. "I'm glad that you have awakened, I was sent here to retrieve you."
"Retrieve us?" Jade asked.
"Your previous successors have sent me," the boy answered. "They have wished to see you."
"The previous Knights of Endymion have asked for us?" Rue asked.
"Yes," the boy nodded as he released his wings. "Just hold on tight," he played his flute again. Suddenly, clouds swarmed around the girls and a boat suddenly appeared underneath them. Fitting all six of the girls with the boy on the head. "Just go straight," the boy directed them. "Once you have, you will see a tree that is shining underneath the moonlight. The previous Knights of Endymion are waiting for you there."
"Thanks, kid," Taylor smiled.
"I'll drive the sailor," Rue volunteered. "Skylar, can you make sure that the sailor catches the wind?"
"You got it," Skylar nodded.
"I see you got everything underneath control," the boy smiled. "Then I must take my leave."
"Wait," Sarah spoke. "Could you please tell us, do you have a name?"
"I do, but I'm sorry. I can't give you my name," the boy answered sadly.
"Why is that?" May asked.
"I wasn't allowed to," the boy replied. "But in the future, I will tell you. When we meet again," the boy started to fly. "Good luck, Sailor Guardians of the Sacred Gems." The boy flew away and disappeared into the night sky.
While the girls are alone, the boat carried them gently to their destination without any roughness from the waves. Before saying a word, they started to notice that the water is shimmering like crystals. Suddenly, a light appeared before them. The girls turned, seeing their destination ahead of them. Skylar smiled.
"Don't you dare say it Blitzie," Taylor growled.
"Oh, now you just ruin the fun out of it Roasted Feathers," Skylar growled.
"What did you just call me Blitzie Feathers?" Taylor turned to her.
"You've heard me," Skylar barked back.
"Would those two ever get a room?" Rue asked as she animated *sweat dropped*.
"No clue," May, Jade, and Sarah shrugged.
"I swear," Rue sighed. "They have sounded like an old married couple that likes to bicker a lot."
"What did you say Rue?" both Skylar and Taylor growled as they turned to Rue.
"The truth," Rue panicked as he raised her hands as if she was surrendering.
"What?" both Skylar and Taylor growled deeper.
"Shutting up now," Rue nearly turned pale.
"Then stay out of this," both Skylar and Taylor begin to cool down.
"Sheesh they are worse than Lily when she loses her temper," Jade whispered. "Including me."
"I'll say," Sarah whispered as she nodded. Before hearing more of Skylar's and Taylor's argument again, the boat has stopped. An Anker has been released and a plank was left out for the girls to go on land. "Come on girls," Sarah leads the girls off the boat and they all walk onto the island that they are told to be at.
Once the girls have left the boat, the boat disappeared without a trace. Then the girls look up at the tree with surprised faces as the tree shines gently underneath the moonlight. "Have any of you ever seen anything like this before?" May asked.
"In my lifetime, no." Jade shook her head.
"I've heard of big trees," Rue spoke. "Bit only somewhere in America, and there are historical. But never seen anything like this before."
"And where do you think that the trees that live in America to have ancestors have come from?" a familiar voice has asked them.
"That voice," Sarah spoke. "I know that voice."
"Indeed you do," the voice replied as a man with three others appeared.
"It's Kunzite," Sarah spoke.
"Zoisite," May added.
"Nephrite," Rue added.
"And Jadeite," Jade added.
"So these are the people that we are supposed to meet," Skylar and Taylor spoke as they remember what the boy has told them earlier.
"It's good to see you again, young guardians." Jadeite smiled.
"Why did you call us here?" Taylor asked.
"We are here to congratulate you on the success of saving the Earth Princess," Kunzite spoke.
"Just like our beloved, the Sailor Guardians that are willing to sacrifice their lives to lend strength to Sailor Moon," Zoisite spoke.
"Their task is still not yet completed," said Jadeite. "Just like yours."
"What do you mean?" Skylar asked.
"Your task is still far from over," Zoisite answered.
"You still need to protect the Earth Princess, and be able to fight along beside her once again," Nephrite added.
"But how can we do that?" Rue asked.
"She's right," Sarah spoke. "We gave out powers and strength to our princess. Our pens and gems are no longer with us. We can't do anything, we're just normal girls now."
"I say the same," May nodded. As the atmosphere of the area has gone quiet. Slowly, the atmosphere started to change.
"There is a way to get your powers back," Jadeite spoke. "And become Sailor Guardians again."
"There is?" the girls asked.
"There is," Zoisite nodded.
"There are swords that are hidden here on this island," Nephrite spoke. "And they are calling out to their new wielders, and they are waiting for them to arrive and to release them."
"Swords?" Jade echoed.
"What swords?" Taylor asked.
"What kind of swords are you talking about?" Rue added.
"You will find out soon enough," Jadeite replied.
"All you have to do is to listen," Kunzite spoke. "To do that, you will hear their call, in that way. Is how you could find them." Suddenly, Kunzite, Jadeite, Zoisite, and Nephrite as started to disappear. "Now good luck, your guardians." Then the knights disappeared, without a trace.
While the knights have disappeared, the girls have been left stunned. Suddenly, May's mind started to process. "It's a test," May finally speak to break the silence.
"A test?" Rue asked, "What kind of test?"
"I don't know for sure," May shrugged. "But I got a feeling that these swords that they are talking about are very important."
"Did Kunzite say that we all have to do is to listen?" Jade asked.
"Yeah, he did." Taylor nodded.
"But listen to what?" Jade asked.
"Something about we have to listen to the swords that the knights are talking about," Taylor spoke. "Whatever that means."
"How about we start our search?" Skylar spoke, "Maybe we could find some clues of what they are talking about."
"Good idea," Sarah nodded. "After that, we will come back within an hour. Either empty-handed or not."
"Right," the girls nodded as they split up in different directions.
Jade ~ The Sword of Peace
While Jade was walking toward the area that was filled with wild violets. She noticed how wild they become, "Who knows that medical herb could be this violent," Jade sighed. Suddenly, a sound rang throughout the air. "What's that?" Jade looks around. As she looks around, she sees nothing. Could it be my imagination? Jade wondered. Suddenly, her head started to pound. "Darn it," she muttered to herself. "I don't have the time to have a headache. I need to focus." Suddenly, it hits her. That's it, Jade thought as she looks around. According to the knights, all I have to do is listen. Don't know what I need to listen to, but I think that I needed to be clear-minded. Like I did a few moments ago. Jade took a deep breath and exhale, "Okay, just yield…stay calm…and focus." She said to herself as she closed her eyes. As she remembers Rei's teaching.
"All you have to do is to listen to your instincts," Rei's voice echoed in Jade's head. "All you need to know is to be open." Suddenly, a ring sounded in the air.
A chime? Jade wondered as her eyes are closed. The chime has started to get louder, and slowly. Jade unconsciously lifted her hand. Feeling warmth within the air that is mixed with a cold breeze. I'm not afraid, Jade went to her knees. I just… slowly, she began to remember…about Rei, about Lily and her new friends. I can't give up, I have to… suddenly, her fingers touched something solid. Jade opens her eyes, seeing a stone in front of her. Suddenly, she recognized the stone. "Jadeite," she spoke. As she slowly looks up to examine it more, suddenly, something caught her eye. "The sword," Jade stood up. "This is the sword that I was looking for," she grabbed the hilt of the sword. She tries to pull it out but notices it looks like it is stuck in place. "Great, I feel like I'm going to be in Lily's relations of movies that she might have seen that I have not," Jade grunted as she slightly feels pain in her hands. Suddenly, she has fallen over as she let go of the hilt. Out of breath, she noticed that both of her hands are covered with frost bites and third-degree burns. "How?" she looks at the sword. Noticing that the hilt is glowing red hot. "I see," Jade stood up. "But…I can't give up, I need its strength to help me and to help my friends. I need its strength to protect Lily and save Sensi Rei. So, please…Jadeite," she touched the hilt and the stone. "Lend me your strength," suddenly, the stone began to glow. As it glowed brightly, it started to crack. The hilt no longer feels hot and cold in her hand. It suddenly becomes warm and safe. Jade smiled as she added her other hand to the hilt. With one good strength, the sword has finally come out of the stone and the stone disappeared without a trace.
Once the stone was gone, Jade smiled lightly. "I did it," she exclaimed. She examined the sword, the sword is well sharp by the blade. Long and skinny with a silver spine. But the hilt is decorated with smooth blue and red color like it is stone itself. But in the middle that holds it together. A jadeite stone is well attached to the hilt. "So this is the sword," Jade stood up carefully. Still feeling the burns on the palms of her hands. "I got to find the others and see if they found swords like this," Jade hurried to the spot where Sarah and the others has agreed to meet up.
May ~ The Sword of Goodness
Near the shoreline, May was looking around as she sees seashells that sparkled like diamonds in the night sky. May was amazed and in awe. This reminds me of the time when Ami-sempai was helping me to understand how to tutor, May thought. Feel the waves be calm and gentle when… suddenly, a chime sounded within the air. A chime? May looks around. Suddenly, the chime becomes louder. "Where…?" May wondered out loud as she turned. Suddenly, the chime sounded right at her side. It's coming from the water, May thought as she walked towards the water. As the chime sounded louder, she suddenly saw a familiar stone in the water. "A zoisite stone," May exclaimed. When she looked closer, seeing an object that is attached to the stone. "The sword," May smiled. "But why it's in the water? Should it be rusted instead of looking new?" Suddenly, the waves roared. "Oh, I may not like to get wet. But here goes nothing," May took her shoes and socks off. Walking among the bank as she felt the water chilling against her skin. But feeling something that she is stepping soft and slippery. "There alley and seaweed," she looks around. "I better be careful of what I might be stepping at." She walked closer to the stone in the water.
Once she is near the stone, May becomes more nervous than ever before. "Okay," May sighed. "I guess that I have to pull it out," she tried to grab the hilt. Suddenly, her hands slipped out as she fell backward. Splashing the water hard and got herself soaked from head to toe. "Uh…" she gasped, "Now where did I see this before?" May wondered as she shook some water off her. "That was very slippery, I wonder why?" She went around the water, trying to grab hold of the hilt again. Suddenly, she slipped. "Okay," she sat up. "I felt something slippery underneath my feet. But I need to confirm." She reach down into the water and grabbed something in the water. Pull out something familiar, "Just I have thought, allege and seaweed." May exclaimed, "No wonder it is slippery. I got a feeling that other stuff was covering it as well." May grunted, "Great," May mumbled. "Now how am I supposed to get the sword out of Zoisite stone while it is covered in sea stuff?" Suddenly, she remembers how Lily looks around in the kitchen while she is helping Mrs. Tsukino to find ideas for dinner when she visited. That's right, May thought. Lily use her ideas of what she could find for dinner. Why not find something that could cut the allege and seaweed? May carefully stand up and began to look around. Without even looking, the zoisite stone has started to shimmer.
While May is looking at both water and shore, she looks and feels careful to find something nearly sharp but not fragile to cut the allege and seaweed. Suddenly, she found a seashell that was close to being either an Oster shell or a clamshell. The coral color shell shimmers in her hand. "This could work," May smiled. She walked back to the stone.
Once, she started cutting the allege and the seaweed carefully. She started at the base of the sword; the blade that is connected to the stone and up to the hilt. I'm almost done, May thought as she continued cutting. Without looking, the stone shimmer has started to turn into a glow. Once the hilt is revealed, May smiled as she looks at the shell. Thanks for the advice Lily, May put the shell into her pocket. "Now, it's time." She grabbed the hilt gently. Starting to feel the warmth instead of cold and slimness. Please, lend me strength, Zoisite. Lend me strength to protect my friends and save Ami-sempai. May prayed. Despite that, she is cold and wet, with one strength. The sword has finally come out and the stone has disappeared without a trace. "Thank you," she exclaimed as she looks at the sword. The sword's blade is rounded with a light silver speck and a pink spine. The hilt is silver with specks decorated with stone with yellow and pink. May sighed in relief, "Time to get back to the girls," May smiled. "But first…I need to fry off." May sneezed a little.
Rue ~ The Sword of Liberty
In the field is one area of the island, Rue is walking in the field of wild roses. "Whoa," Rue exclaimed. Makoto would like to see this. Rue thought as she smiled. Suddenly, it hit her. "Makoto," her smile slowly disappeared. Then she looks up. Don't worry Makoto, we'll save you and get you back. That's a promise. Suddenly, a chime played in the air. "Huh?" Rue looks around. Rue slowly began to follow the chime.
As Rue is following the sound, she came across a bunch of rose bushes. One of the bushes has something sticking out as it is buried with its thorns. "Could it be?" Rue wondered. She tried to move thorns out of the way. She has been poked by the thorns a few times and scratched by some. Once she finished pulling them away, she noticed a handle. Below it, she saw more things out of the way. "I…I don't…" she reached in the touch the object. Feeling solid underneath. "It is," Rue smiled. "The sword," she moved more of the thorns away. Trying to see where it ends. "And it is attached to the…" she sees something shiny. A rock is a nephrite stone that is enlarged. "You're kidding, right?" Rue widened her eyes, "Where's Lily if I need to know where this is leading?" she muttered. Suddenly, the rose vine whipped around, scratching her arm. "And where's Merlin when you need him to tame these plants?" Rue huffed, "But no time to get frustrated, I have to pull the sword." Rue grabs the handle. Suddenly, the rose wine whipped her shoulder. "I…I can't," Rue muttered. "I can't give up," she grabs hold of the handle again. "Please roses, believe in me as I believe in you. As well that I believe in the sword." Suddenly, the stone began to glow. "Just like I believe in my friends as they believe in me. So please lend me strength to believe in myself to save my friends and protect them." Slowly the rose vines intertwine around her legs, arms, waist, chest, and neck. Squeezing her as roses bloom. Instead, the thorns are not perishing through her skin. Slowly, Rue started to feel stronger. The stone began to glow brightly. Slowly, Rue grabbed hold of the handle. Feeling warm or comfortable. "It's time to believe again," she pulled the sword with all of her might. Suddenly, the stone broke as the rose vines disappeared along with the stone.
As everything remained calm, Rue felt like a new woman with the strength of ten men. In relief, Rue looks at the sword with pride. The sword has a wide blade with a silver spin while the base has a bronze-yellow color with a nephrite stone attached to the base. Along the base, the handle is striped and colored yellow and red. "Thank you," she smiled as she lowered the sword down. "I better check and treat my scratches before heading back. Not getting any chances for any of them to be infected." She started to check her scratches before reuniting with her friends.
Sarah ~ The Sword of Order
In a grass-filled meadow, Sarah is walking around as the breeze blows around. "How nice," Sarah smiled. "Perfect place to have a picnic," she giggled. Suddenly, Sarah sees an image of Lily enjoying the landscape of flowers. "Lily," Sarah becomes sad. "She would enjoy this, and smile again. It breaks my heart to see her sad since we have departed. And…I don't want to see her that sad again." She clutched her fist as she is determined to make that promise. Suddenly, a sound of a chime rang in her ears. "Huh?" Sarah looks around in surprise. The chime sounded louder as she began to follow it.
As Sarah is following the sound, she found herself in the middle of the meadow that is filled with beautiful flowers. As Sarah looks, she sees a stone in the middle of the flower field. Within the stone, a familiar piece that is attached to it has hit her head. "Oh great," Sarah muttered. "Where's King Arthur and his Knight from the Round Table when you needed them?" Sarah sighed as she looks at the sword. "But with the prayer of faith that I have, with the strength of order on my side. Hear my plea," she approaches the sword. "Please mighty sword of Kunzite, lend me strength to see Lily…our princess smile again." As she grabbed the handle of the sword. The stone glowed brightly. With one pull, the stone disappeared and the glow spread throughout the sword. Repairing it and becoming clean. The sword style has a silver spin with a gray and silver mix of the handle with a light blue base. The sword has a normal blade but is attached to the base, the stone of kunzite is attached to it. The balance of the sword in her hand is normal and felt the warmth of acceptance. "Thank you," she smiled at the sword. "I better head back," she smiled as she head back.
Within the night sky, stars twinkle brightly as they become very close. Suddenly, two constellations were formed with a sound of a chime in the air.
While Skylar and Taylor are looking around, they are back early empty-handed. "Find anything Blitzie Feathers?" Taylor asked.
"Nope," Skylar shook. "You, Firry Feathers?"
"Have you seen how empty my hands were?" Taylor growled.
"Never mind," Skylar sighed. "But we got to find those swords before meeting up with the others."
"You're right about that," Taylor crossed her arms with a huff. Suddenly, they both heard a chime.
"You heard that, right?" Skylar asked.
"Sure did," Taylor nodded. Suddenly, two constellations from the night sky glowed brightly. Both of the girls looked up, recognizing the constellations. "Hey, that's the constellation of the Phoenix."
"And that's the constellation of the Pegasus," Skylar pointed. Suddenly, the light from two constellations pointed to the tree. One is pointed at the top branches of the tree while the other is pointed at a cave entrance of the tree. "Light points the way…could it be the swords?" Skylar asked.
"Possibly," Taylor nodded. They both walked towards the tree. Hearing a chime again, but in two different directions. "I'm hearing the chime from the cave, are you hearing the same chime?"
"I heard the chime, but only within the tree branches." Skylar pointed up.
"I see," Taylor thought for a moment. "Guess that we have to split."
"Guess so," Skylar shrugged.
"Well," Taylor looks at the tree branches, the cave, and back to Skylar. "Good luck climbing up, Blitzie Feathers."
"And good luck climbing down, Firry Feathers," Skylar smirked. "Let's see how is good on rock or tree climbing."
"Oh, you're on." Taylor has started to steam up. Within a split second, they both have gone separate ways and begun climbing.
Skylar ~ The Sword of Compassion
While Skylar is climbing, a chime sounded in the air. Suddenly, she found a large branch that seems to be stable to walk or to live on. She quickly climbed onto the branch. Once she is fully on the branch, Skylar slowly took a breather as she lay down on the branch. "Man," Skylar exclaimed. "How high can this tree go?" Suddenly, a chime sounded. "Huh?" Skylar nearly sat up. It sounds very close, she thought as she turned towards the thick tree trunk. Seeing something sparkling upon the tree bark. She saw a huge stone attached to the tree with something very oddly familiar. "A sword in the stone, huh?" Skylar raised a brow. "But a turquoise stone instead of a regular stone, interesting." She stood up, "Well, I guess that all I need is to pull it out. Piece of cake." As she was about to grab the handle, a sudden ball of light stopped her from approaching from behind. "Huh?" Skylar jumped as she turned around. Sees a strange figure in armor that shimmers underneath the constellation of the Pegasus. "What the…? Who the heck are you?" Skylar nearly panicked. With no words, the figure in armor walks toward her. "W-w-what…? What do you want?" she nearly stuttered. Suddenly, the figure has fully stopped.
"If you wish to have the sword," the man's voice spoke through the mask. "You must prove that you are worthy of the sword."
"Prove that I am worthy…for the sword?" Skylar raised a brow. How am I supposed to do that? Skylar began to worry.
"So are you going to prove that you are worthy of the sword?" the man in armor stood in a fighting stance.
"You have no idea," Skylar felt unsure of herself at first but determined not to lose. Suddenly, they both began to fight.
While Skylar is fighting against the man in armor, she has started to feel stressed with every attack that she hits and soon her attacks have been blocked. How does this guy do that? Skylar wondered. It's like he knows my every move, but how? Skylar breathes heavily.
"Have you given up yet?" the man in armor asked as his voice sounded like it is a smirk.
"Not even close," Skylar replied as she fought back. With an ounce, more block, the man in armor pushed her away. Skylar groaned in pain.
"Are you sure that you are willing to continue?" the man asked, "You must give up and return to have a normal life as you forget the sword."
"But…that would make me selfish," Skylar grunted. "If I want to forget, I will hurt those that I care about."
"Do you want a normal life or do you want to continue?"
"If you're asking that…do I miss having a normal life," Skylar huffed. "The answer is yes, having a normal life may seem nice at first. But it mostly made me feel lonely."
"How so?"
"Because I never made friends, till I met Lily," Skylar remembers meeting Lily and giving up her tights to save her. "Knowing that life isn't just about alone, it is more. Normal life may seem nice but it is only the beginning. My normal life has turned into a new adventure that I'm willing to take and decide on my own. This life is now to help my friends is to be me." Slowly, Skylar began to glow. With her words, it touched the sword, it started to glow as the stone started to crack.
"With bold words, are you still willing to fight?" the man in armor asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Skylar replied with determination.
"Very well," the man in armor has too started to glow. "PEGASUS RYUSEI KEN!" he attacked.
"I won't give up," Skylar muttered as she sees the attacks in slow motion. "TURQUOISE…" Skylar glows even brighter. "COSMIC…CIVIL-FEATHER ARROW STREAM!" She launched her new attack. With one attack, it finally hit the man in armor.
The man in armor shouted in pain as he has been pushed away.
"I did it," Skylar exclaimed in exhaustion. "What a relief," she breathed for a moment.
The man in armor groaned as he struggled to get up. But noticed that his leg is injured. Skylar looked at him and noticed him in pain. She looks at the sword for a moment and hesitated at first. But shrugged it off as she turned back to the man in armor. She walks toward him and took her scarf off.
"Here," she wrapped the scarf around the wounded leg.
"Why?" the man asked.
"I just can't leave someone hurt," Skylar replied. "Even if it is an enemy or a friend. You could be either one of them and it doesn't matter to me, however, it is very important to show compassion to others while giving some action of generosity to those that are in need. And it seems that you are that those are in need." With her words, the stone glow very brightly as it suddenly shattered. The shards of the gem have floated towards Skylar and have circled her. "What?" Skylar looks around her. "What's going on?"
"You're…" the man in armor gasped as his eyes widened. Within a flash of light, the shards of the gem have entered Skylar. Healing her scratches, blisters, and her bruises. Within a nick of a second, the sword appeared in her hand. The sword glowed as it shows a slight silver spin with the handle looking like a Pegasus detail and the base has a turquoise gem attached to it.
"The sword," Skylar gasped.
"The sword…it has chosen you," the man in armor sat up.
"What?" Skylar looks at him confusingly. "What do you mean?"
"You have passed your test," the man in armor explained. "With your act of compassion and generosity, the sword has been removed from its slumber and chosen you as its wielder. Therefore, the sword now belongs to you."
"Whoa," Skylar looks at the sword with a smile.
"I should thank you for fixing my leg," the man in armor stood up with a struggle. "Your act of compassion has helped."
"Anytime," Skylar smiled as she too stood up. "Now, I must return to my friends."
"Alright, before you return." The man in armor replied, "You must help your friend that went below the tree."
"My friend?" Skylar raised a brow, "You mean Taylor?"
The man in armor nodded, "She might need some inspiration to pass her test."
"Okay," Skylar slowly understands. "How am I supposed to do that?"
"Simple," the man in armor replied. "All you have to do is to drop in."
"Say what?" Skylar raised a brow. Suddenly, a cracking sound vibrated underneath her feet. Skylar looks below her. Seeing the part of the branch breaking beneath her. "Oh dear," Skylar gasped. Within a blink of an eye, Skylar fell into the hole of the branch with the sword in hand. Leaving the man in armor alone.
"Good luck, Warrior of Generosity and Compassion." The man in armor wished her luck as he looks down at the hole. "And my friend, please go easy on these two. They are in need for the future that is yet to come." The man in armor slowly starts to disappear. "I hope that we will meet again…to paidí mou." Suddenly, the man disappeared into the night. Leaving no trace of him on the branch. Right above the tree, the constellation of Pegasus has disappeared without a trace.
Taylor ~ The Sword of Loyalty
Within the cavern that is below the tree, Taylor is being careful of climbing. Man, this cave sure is steep. Taylor thought with a grunt. I wonder how far it goes? Suddenly, she felt the atmosphere change. It suddenly got warm. Taylor hummed in wonder. "I must have gone through one of the layers of the surface," Taylor muttered. Suddenly, a light appeared in front of her. "Finally, some light." She huffed as she approached the exit.
At the exit, Taylor sees a landscape that she was not expected to be at. "A volcanic landscape," Taylor looks around. "Well, that explains why it is so warm." Suddenly, a chime sounded in the air. "That sound," Taylor began to follow it. As she began to follow the sound, Taylor becomes very cautious to walk on the catwalk that is nearly surrounded by lava. "Okay, no need to be nervous." Taylor breathes calmly as she follows the sound of the chime.
As Taylor gets closer, Taylor found herself in the middle of the catwalk. But in the center, she sees a familiar stone that is indeed in fact Topaz. However, there is an object that is stuck between the cracks of the stone. "Oh great," Taylor muttered. "Since when did I get myself into one of Walt Disney's classical movies that Lily likes to watch?" Taylor walks towards the stone, "Well does not matter. All that I need is to pull that sword out and get out of here." Before she could approach with another step, a metal-like object hit between her and the stone. Fully stopped in confusion, Taylor turned to see what was thrown. She sees a metal-shaped feather sticking out on the ground and glowing warmly against warm rocks. Curiously, Taylor turns to see who has thrown that type of metal that has stopped her.
In the direction that Taylor was looking at, a man is wearing a strange armor that seems like it is flowing with the heat of the lava. Above the man, the constellation of the phoenix shone brightly above the man. As Taylor looks closely behind the man in armor, noticing some cape-like is flowing with three tails for a phoenix. But due to the tails, it is a similar pattern of metal that once was thrown from and stopped her from approaching to the sword. Taylor nearly lost her words as she gazed at the armored man. The armored man approached her. "Afraid that you can't go any further to the sword, young lady." The man's voice echoed underneath the helmet.
"Why not?" Taylor replied.
"Because you are not worthy to wield the sword," the man replied, aggressively.
"Excuse me?" Taylor huffed. "I am worthy, I am indeed worthy to wield that sword!"
"Really?" the man's voice sounded like it he has just smirked. "Such bold words to speak like that. Very well."
"So I will approach?"
"Not yet," the armored man crackled his knuckled.
"Why?" Taylor huffed angrily.
"Because you have to show me how you are worthy of the sword," the armored man replied. "And earn it."
"Which is…?" before Taylor could get an answer. The man suddenly punched Taylor at an expended speed. Taylor gasped in pain as she landed hard. Taylor coughed, "What…just…happened…?"
"This is your answer," the armored man replied. "You have to fight for the sword."
"What?" Taylor struggled to sit up. "Me…fight you? You are insane! There is no way that I could fight you. Plus, fights lead to nothing but trouble."
"Really?" the man in armored smirked as he lightly chuckled. "If you don't fight, your friend will suffer the consequences for you."
"Friend?" Taylor rubbed her wound that is slightly bruised. "What friend?" Suddenly, a scream echoed within the area. Without a breath, a crash sounded within the area. "Huh?" Taylor looked. Seeing a familiar figure that is laying on a rock is cool and softens the figure's fall. "Blitzie Feathers?" Taylor jumped as she sees Skylar laying on the rock unconscious. "What did you do?" Taylor growled.
"Nothing much," the man in armor replied. "Just decided to allow her to drop in."
"Why you…" Taylor clutches her fist.
"Fight, or your friend will pay the price." The man in armor warned her.
Taylor growled as she clutches her fist tightly. "Fine," she grumbled. "I will fight you, but you will pay dearly if anything happens to her."
"Good answer," the armored man grinned. Slowly, they both clashed their fists in combat.
While fighting, Taylor nearly got some burns and scratches every time the man punches her back. Taylor breathes deeply as she is kneeling.
"Get up," the man in armor ordered.
"Don't order me while I was catching my breath," Taylor charges again. The man in armor dodges.
"You sure are stubborn, I give you that." The man in armor nodded in amusement. "Which reminds me about someone that I used to know back in my day."
Taylor grunted.
"But your anger," the man in armor spoke. "That's another thing."
"What?" Taylor stood in anger.
"I wonder," the man in armor clutches his fist. "Will your anger become your downfall?" The man in armor's fist started to glow, "Or will it become your strength? PHOENIX HOO GENMAKEN!" The man in armor throws a punch. With that wave from a punch, a strange wave hit Taylor's forehead.
In shock, Taylor blinked a few times in confusion. "Is that the best way you can do it?" Taylor huffed.
"Why are you standing like this?" a voice spoke from behind.
"Huh?" Taylor turned. Seeing dark figures that she has never seen before. "What?"
"You're not a good friend," the dark figure changes shape. "You're nothing but a ruffian."
"What was that?" Taylor throws a punch. Suddenly, she felt an aching pain in her head. "Ow, what the…?"
"Don't get hurt?" the voice that belongs to the man in armor echoes within the air. "If you do, you will be crushed within the images that live within your head."
"Within…my head?" Taylor echoed as she noticed the differences in her surroundings.
In reality, Taylor is staring blankly as she stands like a statue. "Let's see if you survive through your illusions." The man in armor spoke.
Within the little aisle, Skylar is lying unconscious and slightly unharmed. Suddenly, her finger twitched just a bit. Skylar opened her eyes slowly and groaned in pain. "Ow," she sat up. "What happened?" Skylar rubbed her head. Suddenly, she felt something warm. "Huh?" she looked at her hand. In shock, Skylar gasped. "Lava?" Skylar looks around where she is laying at. "How did I…?"
"I see that you are now awake," a voice that sounds like an echo underneath a mask has spoken. Skylar looks up, seeing a man in armor standing above her. Skylar studied the man in a near familiar sight.
"That armor," Skylar whispered as she studied more. "Are you friends with the other guy? With similar armor such as yours?"
"Perhaps," the armored man nodded. As she slightly shrugged.
"But why am I down here?" Skylar asked.
"You're here to motivate your friend to take the test that she is in," the armored man replied.
"Motivate my friend?" Skylar slowly remembers the reason why she was "dropped in". "Wait…where's…?" Skylar looks up to her right, seeing a familiar figure that is standing on the ledge with a blank look. "Taylor?" she cried out, "Taylor, are you all right?" Skylar asked, yet Taylor has not responded. "Taylor?"
"She can't hear you," the armored man replied. "And she never will."
"What did you do?" Skylar nearly growled.
"Nothing much," the armored man replied. "Just messed her head for a little bit."
"Messed with her head?" Skylar echoed, "With what?"
"That's a secret," the armored man replied, "Now, let's see if she could come out of it."
"I know Taylor would," Skylar barked.
"Why would you say that?"
"Because I know Taylor," Skylar spoke. "And I know that Taylor would just only be harsh and stubborn but she would do that for herself. Maybe…maybe deep down, she would do it for someone she cares about. She does not even show it but it is still there."
"What are you saying?" the armored man asked.
"I'm saying that Taylor is way too stubborn to be fooled by some strange delusions that would mess with her mind," Skylar explained. "She will keep on fighting with a good reason to stand up for what she cares about."
The armored man chuckled, "Man," he sighed. "You sounded just like someone that I used to know," he grinned behind his masked helmet.
Within Taylor's mind, she has heard everything that Skylar has said within the echoes of the air. Blitzie… Taylor thought. No…Skylar is right. I am way too stubborn to be fooled by these stupid illusions. But she is also right about one thing, and I will fight for it. Suddenly, everything turned to light. As her body started to glow and turn a shape into a Phoenix.
In reality, Skylar is still barking at the armored man. "And by my perspective," Skylar continued. "You're not playing fair."
"You've talked too much Blitzie Feathers," a familiar voice spoke.
"What?" the armored man turned.
"Taylor," Skylar smiled. Seeing her rival, friend is now awake and glowing brightly.
"You're awake?" the armored man is now in shock.
"Old man," Taylor growled. "I won't tolerate your pathetic attacks anymore."
"We shall see about that," the armored man has started to glow. "HYOKO TENSHO!"
"TOPAZ!" Taylor cried out, "FURRY THUNDER PUNCH!" Taylor launched her attack. With her attack, she hit the armored man directly as she dodges his attack.
The armored man cried out in pain as he has been pushed away.
"Now that was settled," Taylor dusted her hands. "Now I…"
Skylar cried out in pain. Taylor quickly turned, seeing Skylar holding her right ankle in one hand while the other is holding the sword. Kneeling as the little isle that Skylar is on has started to sink. Skylar began to panic as she still recovering from the fall.
"Blitzy…" Taylor looks at her rival and then at the sword. Taylor slowly debates as she slowly growls. "Oh, forget it." Taylor started to glow again. Suddenly, the fire started to surround her and turned into pair of wings attached to her back. Taylor jumped and started to take flight.
Skylar panicked as she tries to stand. Suddenly, a light crash landed right next to her. "Huh?" Skylar was about to turn. Suddenly, a strong pair of arms swooped her side and legs. Cradling her in bridal style. "Taylor?" Skylar blinked from her shock.
"Hang on," Taylor jumped again and took flight once more. All at once the isle have disappeared into the lava.
Once Taylor landed, she settle Skylar down as the pair of wings that was made of fire disappeared. In exhaustion, Taylor went to her knees and breathes heavily. "Taylor," Skylar kneel. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Taylor groaned. "What about you? How bad is your ankle?"
"Just burnt a bit," Skylar answered. "Luckily it wasn't a third degree or I won't be able to stand."
Taylor chuckled, "Lucky you," Taylor clutches her fist. "Let's go, we got to treat your ankle in a better location."
"But Taylor…are you sure?" Skylar asked in concern.
"Yeah, I'm sure." Taylor nodded, "Who would need that stupid sword anyway? I don't need it, since I have flunked that stupid test."
"What are you talking about?" Skylar replied in concern. "You may be very loyal, but you're not very aware of it."
"Aware of what Blitzy?" Taylor grunted, "And don't play riddles."
Skylar glared at Taylor, and she sighed. "Just reach over the right side of your shoulder to check your back."
"Did I say just don't play with riddles?" Taylor lowly growled in irritation.
"Just do it," Skylar crossed her arms.
"Fine," Taylor huffed. "You're lucky that I'm in no mood for…" she reached over the right side of her shoulder. As she was about to touch her back, something blocked her hand. "Huh?" Taylor jumped as she felt something solid with her fingers. As Taylor gently guided her hand to grab hold of the object and started to pull it. She heard a click as her back felt lighter than it was a moment ago. Taylor brought the object in front of her; between her and Skylar. In gasp, Taylor suddenly realized that she is holding the sword that she has meant to receive or to pull out of the stone. The sword is similar in detail to Skylar's sword, but the hilt is decorated in a shape of a phoenix. Decorated with bronze, silver, and topaz. The blade is clean and sharp with no dullness or rust at all. "How?" Taylor began to wonder as she looks back to the center of the catwalk. Seeing a dull sword that is still sticking out of a stone that is no longer topaz. Suddenly, it hit her. "It was a decoy?" Taylor wondered.
"Now that you don't see every day," Skylar agreed.
"Now you see the reason," the armored man walked to them. Both girls carefully stood up. "You've passed your test by saving something to choose and you have chosen wisely."
"You mean that she passed her test by saving me?" Skylar asked.
"That's correct," the armored man nodded. "That is how the real sword accepted you as its real master. You chose loyalty and care for your friend over your greed and temptation. That includes that you have overcome your anger."
"I see," Taylor looks at the sword.
"As you stay loyal to your friends and the sword," the armored man continued. "The sword will stay loyal to you in return."
"What do you mean by that?" Taylor asked.
"You find out soon or later," the man in armor replied. Suddenly, an opening in the cave has shown the light. "Now it is time for you two to go."
"Good," Taylor smiled as she put the sword back into the sheath that is attached to her back. "We need fresh air instead of sulfur."
"Agreed," Skylar nodded.
"Do you have a belt?" Taylor asked.
"No, why?" Skylar asked as Taylor took her belt off.
"Use this," Taylor offered. "It's better to carry the sword by waist instead of hand."
"Good point," Skylar nodded. She settles the sword to her side and buckled up. The sword is no longer on the ground but now on her side. "Thanks."
"No problem," Taylor spoke. "Can you walk?"
"A little," Skylar replied with a light smile as she grunted in pain.
Taylor sighed as she gently looped Skylar's arm over her shoulder. "Just this once."
Skylar smiled, "Alright, I'll keep quiet about it."
"Whatever," Taylor sighed.
"You do remind me of someone all right," the armored man smiled in amusement. "You both better go, your friends are waiting for you."
"Thanks," both girls nodded.
"Good luck," the armored man watched both Taylor and Skylar leave the area.
As Taylor and Skylar left the area, the armored man chuckled. "I'm glad that I get to see you again before the reunion kóri." The armored man started to glow. "I'll see you again, within the 30th century." Suddenly, the man started to disappear within a trace. Right above the tree, the constellation of Phoenix has disappeared without a trace.
At the Reunion Spot
For a while, everything is quiet and undisturbed. Suddenly, Jade returned with a sword in hand. Guess I got here first. Jade thought. Hope that the others are okay. Suddenly, May returned with her sword.
"Hey Jade," May smiled.
"Hey May," Jade smiled. Suddenly, she examined May for a moment. "Why are your clothes wet?"
"I went swimming," May replied as she raised her sword.
"Oh," Jade understands.
"Hey girls," a familiar voice spoke. Both Jade and May turned, seeing Rue. Who is also holding a unique sword as well. Suddenly, the girls noticed something about Rue's clothing.
"What happened to your clothes Rue?" May asked.
"I played in rose bushes," Re answered. "And there's still a lot of thorns in there."
"Ouch," Jade winced.
"Be glad that you didn't catch yourself a bad case of a head cold," May said.
"How so?" a familiar voice asked. The girls turned, seeing Sarah holding her sword.
"Because I went swimming with my clothes on," May answered.
"Your sword was underwater?" Rue asked.
"Yes," May nodded. "And it was covered with allege and slim."
"Yuck," Jade exclaimed.
"Yeah," Rue nodded. "I would be too grateful not to be full of scratches to bind in that field."
"How did that happen?" Jade asked.
"I've bound myself with the rose bushes," Rue answered.
"I wished that I have thought of that," May felt jealous.
"While doing that," Rue added. "I wished for the strength to save Makoto."
"You're the only one who made that type of wish," Jade spoke. "I made that same wish while I was only thinking about my teacher, Rei."
"I was too," May nodded. "But only about Ami-sempai."
"I was just thinking about not making Lily sad again," Sarah added.
"Yeah," Rue looks down. "Making Lily sad makes us sad."
"It hurts her to let us go that early," May nodded.
"As well it hurt us to let her go," Jade added, sadly.
"But we will make it up for that," Sarah spoke up with confidence. "Since we found the swords, we will get back to her."
"Yeah," Jade and May nodded.
"Totally," Rue nodded. "But we are missing two other people," Rue looks around.
"Now that you mention it," Jade spoke. "Where are they?"
"Looking for us already?" a familiar voice replied. The girls turned, seeing Taylor helping Skylar walk with a burnt ankle. Both of their swords are held by either waist or back.
"What happened to you?" the girls asked.
"Kid of a long story actually," Taylor replied.
"You mean by playing with fire and a tree that was lead by two constellations," Skylar asked. "Fighting against two people in armor to get to our swords and to earn the ownership by their tests? So yeah, it is a long story."
"Thanks for keeping it short, Blitzy," Taylor grunted.
"Whoa," Rue whistled. "Didn't see that one coming."
"You girls have a harder task than we did," Sarah spoke in amusement.
"Such as?" Taylor asked.
"Over a prayer to the sword," both Jade and Sarah answered.
"Went swimming to get to the sword," May added.
"Wrestling with the rose thorn bushes to get to the sword," Rue added.
Both Taylor and Skylar blinked in surprise. "You're right," they both exclaimed. "We did have a hard task than you girls did."
"Welcome back guardians," a familiar voice spoke. The girls turned and see the former Knights of Endymion has returned. "I see you have passed your tests," said Kunzite.
"And finally revive your swords," Zoisite smiled.
"Yeah," Rue spoke. "Most of us to an easy one while these two have a picnic that's full of ants."
"Okay, she does have a point there." May nodded.
"It's the only way to test them," Jadeite answered.
"To see that the worthy will overcome greed and selfishness to become a great warrior," Nephrite answered.
"You could have just warned us," Skylar barked.
"Where's the fun in that?" Jadeite chuckled. In irritation, the girls narrow their eyes as they *animated* sweat drops.
"Jadeite," Zoisite sighed as she rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Don't help."
"Sorry," Jadeite nervously smiled.
"Well, since we finished playing scavenger hunt," Sarah spoke. "Guess it is time for us to head back, and help out Lily and Bailey to save Chibi Usa."
"Not yet," Kunzite spoke. "There is one more thing missing."
"What's that?" Taylor asked. Suddenly, all the swords started to glow. All at once, May's shell started to glow and started to float out of her pocket.
"Huh?" May raised a brow. Suddenly, some object appeared in front of the other girls. Such as a flower of wild violet appeared in front of Jade; a pair of roses with thorns appeared in front of Rue; some flower seeds with a glow of sunshine appeared in front of Sarah; a seed from the tree with an unknown feather that is covered in stardust appeared in front of Skylar; and an ember with an unknown feather that is covered in stardust appeared in front of Taylor.
"Raise your swords," Kunzite ordered.
"Why?" Taylor asked.
"Wait and see," Nephrite smiled. The girls look at each other in curiosity.
Without a word, the girls slowly nodded. Taylor helps Skylar study to stand. As Taylor and Skylar removed their swords and belt/container from their waist/back. Together, all of the girls raised their swords. All at once, the items glow brightly as each item enters into each other their swords. For example, the wild violets went into Jade's sword; the shell went into May's sword; the roses with thorns went into Rue's sword; the seeds and sunshine went into Sarah's sword; the tree seed with the unknown feather and stardust went into Skylar's sword; and the ember with the unknown feather and stardust went into Taylor's sword. "These items are now your new transformation pens," Jadeite spoke. "Or should I say, your swords?"
"Come again?" Rue asked.
"Since your pens have been destroyed due to your sacrifice," Kunzite spoke. "Your transformation pens have been upgraded into nail files. A place where you can hold your swords in public before you could use them to transform into a fight."
"Cool," Jade smiled.
"But how does it work?" May asked.
"For each transformation," Zoisite answered. "You call out the names of your gems and add "Sword Power, Makeup." Then you know the rest."
"Then we can become Sailor Guardians of the Gems again?" Sarah asked.
"That's correct," Kunzite nodded. Suddenly, everything started to glow.
"What's going on?" Taylor asked.
"We are sending you back," Jadeite answered.
"So you could help your princess," Nephrite added.
"And save her sister," Zoisite added. Suddenly, the Knights of Endymion started to disappear.
"Good luck, Sailor Guardians of the Sacred Gems." Kunzite smiled as he and his comrades disappeared without a trace.
As the girls are now alone, their teleportation has almost arrived at their destination. "Okay girls," Sarah spoke. "We can't let Lily wait for us very long, so now…let's do this."
"Right!" the girls nodded.

"Sure does," Sailor Jadeite nodded.
"This way girls," Sailor Kunzite lead the way.
"EARTH TUXEDO LA-BOOMER!" a familiar voice called out.
"AURGH!" an unfamiliar voice cried out in pain.
"That must be Sailor Earth!" Sailor Zoisite cried out as the guardians stopped at a ledge.
"It is Sailor Earth," Sailor Nephrite spoke.
"And she's trying to fight against another goon that needs to turn back into an object," Sailor Topaz pointed.
"How many more are there?" Sailor Turquoise asked.
"You're guess is good as mine," Sailor Zoisite shrugged.
"There's no time for questioning," Sailor Kunzite spoke. "We cannot let Sailor Earth fight alone, we got to help her. So let's lend her our power once more."
"Right," the girls nodded as they understood.
"Our gems…" Sailor Kunzite prayed, "Sacred swords, please…lend us your power." Suddenly, each of the Sailor Guardians of the Gems started to glow as they felt their power have boosted.
"JADEITE RED…" Sailor Jadeite cried out as she started to glow in red and light blue with red roses appearing above her.
"TURQUOISE LIGHT BLUE…" Sailor Turquoise cried out as she started to glow in light blue and light turquoise with light blue roses appeared above her.
"TOPAZ ORANGE…" Sailor Topaz cried out as she started to glow in orange and light blue with orange roses appearing above her.
"ZOISITE PINK…" Sailor Zoisite cried out as she started to glow in pink and yellow with pink roses appearing above her.
"NEPHRITE YELLOW…" Sailor Nephrite cried out as she started to glow in yellow and red with yellow roses appearing above her.
"KUNZITE WHITE…" Sailor Kunzite cried out as she started to glow in white and gray with white roses appearing above her. "Ready?"
"Now!" Sailor Zoisite nodded.
"ROSE SWORD DANCE!" All six voices cried out as they launched the roses to become their attack.
The enemy cried out in pain. Leaving Sailor Earth confused and stunned.
"Sailor Earth," Sailor Kunzite cried out. "You must return him to an item where he once was."
"I wish that I could, but how?" Sailor Earth replied.
"She's right," Sailor Nephrite replied. "Her Earth Stick was destroyed in battle. How can she turn him back without her Earth Stick?"
"Good question," Sailor Zoisite nodded. Before any of them could question further, a sudden glow appeared from down below.
"What's going on?" Sailor Turquoise asked.
"Could it be…?" Sailor Kunzite wondered. Before they knew it, a new weapon appeared in front of Sailor Earth.
"No way," the girls jumped as they watched Sailor Earth smile happily as she put the previous weapon away that looks like a sword. Took hold of the new weapon which is the Earth Rod, which suddenly glowed warmly in her hand. As the glow that is above Sailor Earth has disappeared, the enemy begins to struggle to stand.
"What…but how…?" the enemy cried in shock.
"It's over now Larva," Sailor Earth spoke in confidence. "And it is time to return you where you belong. EARTH PRINCESS HALATION!"
"Ahh…GORGEOUS!" Larva cried out as he disappeared.
Once he disappeared, all as it now stands is a lava lamp. Unplugged and oil nearly dried up. The girls smiled as they jumped to the ground level. "Well done kid," Sailor Topaz spoke.
"You seem stronger than the last few moments ago," Sailor Turquoise smiled in amusement.
"I agree," Sailor Jadeite nodded.
"Wait, those voices…" Sailor Earth turned to them. Finally seeing her guardian friends, smiling and completely well once again.
