Hello everyone I'm back once again to bring you another chapter of my story; I hope you all enjoy it and continue reading my story and with that out of the way lets begin.
Set in Stone: Chapter 12
Sakura and Ino were staring each other down as the crowd gathered look on in anticipation; Sakura decided to take the offensive and threw several shuriken at Ino. Ino used her sword to swat away the projectiles and saw Sakura running towards her weaving through hand signs; Sakura created 4 clones in order to confuse Ino. As Sakura approached she was kicked in the face and sent flying backwards into the wall; Ino was standing in the same spot with a smile on her face.
"Wow Suckura" Ino said taunting Sakura "you really are all brains and no brawn; you haven't improved since the academy at all have you" she said. Sakura got up angry at how her former friend and rival was taunting her.
"Shut it piggy" Sakura shouted "how about I come over there and-" Sakura began until Ino appeared in front of her and buried the hilt of her training sword into Sakura's stomach. Sakura had the wind knocked out of her; Ino using the opportunity she created continued her attack.
Ino then kneed Sakura in her face following up with a slash to the collar bone with her training sword. Ino then grabbed Sakura and threw her across the arena; Sakura was laying on the ground in pain as Ino stood over her with her sword raised over her head. Ino then brought the sword down to finish the fight but was stopped by Hayate using his own sword to stop her.
"Enough" Hayate said making Ino stop "match over winner Ino Yamanaka" Hayate announced; Ino looked at him in disbelief.
"What are you serious" Ino shouted in protest "we only fought for like 2 minutes; it can't be over yet" she whined. Hayate sweat dropped and pointed to Sakura.
"You broke her nose and collar bone she is in no condition to fight" Hayate said "don't worry you will have another chance to show your stuff later on" Hayate said. Ino bowed her head in disappointment and walked up to stand next to Ichigo.
In the stands
"Wow babe that was very fast" Ichigo said as Ino pouted.
"Man I didn't even get to show off any of the cool moves you taught me" Ino said "if I knew how easy that was going to be I would've used taijutsu and not my sword" Ino said as Ichigo nodded.
"Yeah, all that build up for a short one-sided ass kicking; very anti-climactic" Ichigo said which got Ino to chuckle "But I guess it's more the fault of the sensei than the fault of the student" Ichigo said.
Kakashi who was standing next to him looked at Ichigo with an angry glare "I'm right here you know" Kakashi said.
Ichigo didn't respond immediately until he turned to Kakashi and looked surprised "Oh Kakashi; I didn't see you there. How's it going" he said which made Kakashi even more angry. Kakashi decided to ignore the comment and refocus on the matches.
"Up next" Hayate announced as the board lit up and stopped on 2 names "Tsubaki Senju vs (Rain ninja punching bag); come on down" Hayate announced.
"Yes I get to show off and look good doing it" Tsubaki cheered as she walked to the arena; as she was about to past Naruto he grabbed her hand to stop her.
"Good luck Tsubaki" he said kissing her cheek "try not to kill him ok" Naruto said to which Tsubaki stuck her tongue out.
"No promises" she said before she skipped like a school girl to the arena.
'He's gonna die' Sarada, Moro and Ichigo all thought as they saw their busty blonde friend stop in the middle of the ring.
In the arena
Hayate looked at a smiling Tsubaki and a serious looking rain genin 'I wonder how this is going to turn out' Hayate thought as he raised up his hand "ok match 2: Tsubaki Senju vs Rain genin; begin" Hayate shouted as he jumped away to gain some distance.
The rain genin ran towards the smiling blonde girl as fast as he could; he wanted to end this fight as fast as he could in order to ensure his victory. As he drew out a kunai he saw the blonde girl standing in place with not a care in the world.
'What is she doing is she insane' he thought as he was now only 5 feet away; Tsubaki then balled her right hand into a fist.
Tsubaki drove her fist into the rain genins gut sending him flying into the wall; the poor boy went 6 inches deep into the concrete wall. Tsubaki then ran up to the now unconscious rain genin and put her fingers onto his neck to feel for a pulse.
"He's alive just really hurt" Tsubaki yelled at Hayate who sweat dropped.
'Wow this phase of the exam might be over sooner than I thought' Hayate thought as he pointed to Tsubaki "winner Tsubaki Senju" Hayate announced. Naruto, Sarada, Hinata, Moro and Yakumo all began to clap and cheer as Tsubaki walked up to rejoin them.
As the Rain genin was moved out of the arena to the infirmary Hayate began to speak "Ok now then on with the next match" he said as the board lit up and began to shuffle until it stopped on the next 2 names.
"Sasuke Uchiha vs Random Taki genin; come on down" Hayate announced; Sasuke got a arrogant smirk on his face as he walked past Naruto and his team.
"Watch and learn how an elite fights loser" Sasuke said to Naruto who turned and faced him.
"You Uchiha think so highly of yourselves" Naruto said making Sasuke frown "I mean your clan was killed in a single night by one guy; can't be that 'elite'" Naruto said. Sasuke then threw a punch at Naruto who caught it "to slow" Naruto said making Sasuke fume.
"Sasuke Uchiha" Hayate yelled "if you throw another punch I'll disqualify you; now get your ass down here" Hayate said. Sasuke pulled away from a smirking Naruto and walked down to the arena; Naruto watched as Sasuke walked down and scowled.
"Just you wait Sasuke" Naruto said darkly "I'll be kicking your ass soon enough" he said; he then felt Sarada put her hand on his shoulder.
"Easy there killer" Sarada said "save some of that enthusiasm for your match" she said; Naruto nodded and refocused on the match that was about to happen.
The match when if started wasn't as good as many thought it was going to be; Sasuke used only taijutsu to defeat his opponent, because unknown to everyone except Naruto and his co-conspirators no body else knew about the curse mark on Sasuke. Sasuke was then carried off as Kakashi followed shortly behind.
"Well, that was lame" Moro said letting out a sigh "I wish Karin and Kin were here; I'm sure it would be a lot more fun with them around" she said.
"We are they by the way" Hinata asked.
"They went off with Anko" Tsubaki said "she said they probably could use some girl time" she said.
Ichigo shuddered at that statement "I wonder what kind of torture that psycho is putting those 2 through" Ichigo asked.
Konoha; Karaoke place (I do not own this song MJB does)
Anko was currently holding a microphone with Shizune and Karin as her backup singers;

Tsunade, Kin and Hanabi were also there enjoying the company "whooo yeah girls sing it" a slightly drunk Tsunde cheered "hey lady another round of sake" Tsunade said in a intercom.
Hanabi was looking through a playlist and smiled when she found what she was looking for "yes they got it" Hanabi said showing it to Kin "Wannabe by the spice girls is one of my favorites; you got to sing it with me and Tsunade sensei" Hanabi begged.
Kin who was uncomfortable coming here in general as she never had any kind of friends before so she was in unfamiliar territory; but when she was looking into Hanabi's big innocent lavender eyes she felt her will waver. Just then the song ended and Hanabi grabbed both Tsunade and Kin.
"C'mon it'll be fun" Hanabi said dragging both women to the microphones.
'Mother of god' Kin said as she grabbed the microphone.
Back at the exams
"Ok next match will be Naruto Uzumaki vs Kiba Inuzuka" Hayate announced when the names came up on screen; Kiba turned to Naruto with a arrogant smirk as he was certain he was going to win. When he did turn he saw Naruto, Hinata and Moro looking at him with evil smiles and killing intent rolling off them in waves.
"Well look at this" Naruto said narrowing his eyes "looks like I may be able to keep that promise I made you back at the academy Kiba" Naruto said as his eyes turned red with Kurama's help.
"But Naruto" Moro said draping herself over her blonde boyfriend "you said I could be the one to kill dog boy after all those mean comments he said" she said now pouting childishly.
"What about me Naruto" Hinata said leaning up against Naruto "you said I could kill him for trying to slap my butt that one time" Hinata said in a pleading voice. Naruto chuckled and kissed both girls.
"Sorry ladies but this is just fate" Naruto said detaching himself from both girls "but tell you what; I'll get you both cinnamon rolls after I'm done with the mutt there" Naruto said which made both girls smile and nod.
"Naruto" Hayate called "quit flirting with your girlfriends and come down here and kill Kiba" Hayate said which made Kiba look at him angrily.
"What the hell man" Kiba shouted "you think he can beat me" Kiba said pointing at Naruto.
"Yep" Hayate said plainly "now hurry up".
Naruto and Kiba both made their way down to the middle of the arena; Kiba pulled Akamaru out of his jacket and placed him on the ground.
"Stay out of this boy" Kiba said "he's mine and mine alone" Koba said as Hayate raised his hand.
"Ok Match 4: Naruto Uzumaki vs Kiba Inuzuka; begin" Hayate yelled as he brought his hand down and jumped away.
Kiba was about to charge at Naruto and end the match but Naruto made the first move by throwing 3 smoke bombs; as the smoke bombs exploded a white cloud enveloped Kiba. Kiba immediately began to choke and cry as he breathed in some of the smoke.
'What the hell' Kiba thought as he rushed out of the smoke; as his vision cleared Naruto appeared in front of him and kicked him back into the smoke.
"How do you like my tear gas Kiba" Naruto shouted "your nose and other senses that you Inuzuka take pride in doesn't mean shit to me" Naruto said mockingly.
In the stand Moro was smiling 'looks my smoke bombs are having a good effect' Moro thought as she watched the match 'I got to make sure that I have some on me when I get to kill you" she thought.
As the cloud dispersed Kiba was wiping the tears and snot from his face "you *cough* bastard *cough* you're going to pay for that" Kiba shouted as he rushed at Naruto. Naruto ducked under Kiba's claw strike and uppercut him in the jaw; Naruto then followed up with a leg sweep and a kick to the ribs sending Kiba flying into the wall.
As Kiba hit the wall Naruto spoke up "Ok dog boy" Naruto said "I'll give you a option give up or the dog dies" Naruto said showing his clone holding up Akamaru by his front legs.
Kiba seeing this smirked "nice try orphan boy" Kiba shouted "you wouldn't do it; your to much of a boy scout to do that" he said. Naruto's clone then grabbed Akamaru's head and with a quick twist of his wrist broke the small dogs neck. "Akamaru" Kiba shouted in emotional agony; he then charged Naruto with reckless abandonment "why did you do that" Kiba shouted.
"To piss you off" Naruto shouted back as the 2 boys entered a melee of fists, feet and claws; Naruto got slashed across the chest by Kiba's clawed hand, Naruto countered with a knee to the gut. Kiba then jumped away gaining distance.
'Fang over fang' Kiba then began to spin very quickly; Naruto seeing this stayed in place timing the moment just right. When Kiba was only 4 feet away Naruto dropped low underneath the spinning vortex; he then launched up a kick nailing Kiba in the face.
'Looks like all that training with Moro has paid off' Naruto thought as he saw Kiba veer off to the side and land on the ground; Naruto then straddled Kiba and began to hit him in the face repeatedly until his knuckles were caked in blood. Naruto was about to throw another punch when his fist was caught; Naruto turned and saw it was Hayate.
"That's enough Naruto" Hayate said in a cool calm voice "winner Naruto Uzumaki" Hayate announced; Naruto then got off of the unconscious Kiba and walked back up to his team.
"Good work Naruto" Hinata said congratulating Naruto "here let me heal your wound" Hinata said as her hands began glowing with green chakra and started to heal Naruto's ches wound.
"Hahaha that tickles" Naruto said squirming from the feeling.
As this was going on Neji was looking at his failure of a cousin Hinata 'Hinata how low have you fallen' Neji thought as he saw Hinata and Naruto interact 'first you and Hanabi abandon the clan and now you are fraternizing with that plebian; I'll make sure to restore the honor of the Hyuga' Neji thought.
Neji was instructed by Hiashi that during the exams he should try and kill Hinata by any means necessary; he could not let the failure of the Hyuga clan walk around and tarnish their sacred bloodline.
"Ok next match" Hayate announced as the board lit up and revealed the next 2 names "Hinata vs Neji Hyuga" Hayate announced.
Neji smirked at this 'look like fates on my side' Neji thought as he began to walk down to the arena.
Hinata began to look nervous; she had never been able to match Neji before and she was unsure that even with her training that she will be able to do it. Hinata then felt 2 hands touch her shoulder and she saw both Tsubaki and Naruto looking at her.
"You got this Hinata" Naruto said with his trademark grin.
"Kick his ass little sis" Tsubaki said giving Hinata a playful slap on the butt. Hinata blushed at that but felt her spirit begin to steady itself and walked down to the arena.
In the arena
"Ok Match 5: Hinata vs Neji Hyuga begin" Hayate shouted as he jumped away; Neji crossed his arms and closed his eyes.
"Before we start let-" Neji began until he was suddenly blocking strikes from Hinata; Neji felt each and every blow Hinata was sending his way as the force was making his bones rattle. Hinata then opened her hands and started to use her own variation of the gentle fist.
Hinata began to strike at Neji who was dodging trying to not be hit and have his chakra points shut down "what's wrong Neji" Hinata said in between strikes "looks like your going to lose to a failure" Hinata said as she began to spin around.
Neji realizing what this was had no way to defend as he sent flying into the wall; Hinata stopped spinning and looked at her cousin as he got off the ground "how do you know the rotation" Neji yelled "that is for the Hyuga clan only; not weak rejects like you" he shouted.
Hinata looked at him passively "I learned it on my own; I'm not the weak girl that I was before. But I'm also not a heatless monster like Hiashi wanted me and Hanabi to be" Hinata said before turning to Hayate "I forfeit; we may be at odds but I don't want to hurt him" Hinata said before looking back at a shocked Neji "you can still change your fate Neji; the future isn't set in stone" Hinata said as she began to walk back to her team.
Neji was looking at Hinata walking away and began to feel enraged 'you cannot change your fate Hinata, I was ordered to kill you and that's what I'll do; I will not be humiliated like this' Neji thought. Neji then sprang up and charged at Hinata faster then anyone could react; Hayate began to run to stop Neji from doing anything rash.
"Hinata! Look out" Naruto yelled; Hinata then turned around as she saw Neji approach his hand extending out to strike her down. Neji's hand then fell down to the floor with a wet splat as a blade sliced through his hand like tissue paper.
Ichigo then brought his sword up and decapitated Neji in a single swing; Ichigo then wiped the blood off his blade and turned to a shocked looking Hinata "you ok" he asked.
Hinata was staring at the now headless body of her former cousin; she approached the body she began to cry and shake as she reached out. Hinata was then grabbed by Tsubaki who began to lead her away.
"Don't look, don't look" Tsubaki said trying to make sure Hinata didn't look at the body.
Hayate snapping out of the shock of what just happened spoke up "winner by forfeit Neji Hyuga; but due to his actions immediately after the match he is disqualified and the winner slot goes to Hinata" Hayate said. No one in the crowd said anything; Naruto and his team were all huddled around a Hinata who was in shock, Guy and Lee were looking at Ichigo in disgust while Tenten was crying her eyes out, Ichigo was shaking as he looked at his sword until Ino came up and put her hand on his shoulder.
"I-I it was instinctual; I-I didn't mean to" he began until Ino brought his head to her chest and rubbed his back.
"I know, I know" Ino said before lifting his head up "but you saved Hinata, that's all that matters" Ino said making Ichigo nod in agreement.
10 minutes later
Hayate then cleared his throat "Ok now that we have cleaned up, we shall continue the matches" Hayate said as the board began to go through names once again "Moro vs Kankuro come on down" Hayate announced.
As the 2 met in the middle of the arena Moro spoke up "Don't try to hide Kankuro come on out and face me with all you got" Moro said confusing most of the crowd. Kankuro then unfurled the object wrapped in bandages and the Kankuro that unfurled it began to fall apart until it revealed a puppet.
"Damn how did you know I was there" Kankuro said slightly impressed.
"I got my ways" Moro said which got a small chuckle from Kankuro.
"Well lets see how good you are against a Suna puppet master" he said getting into his puppet fighting stance.
"Yeah, I'm a little curious to see how I fare against you" she said getting into her own fighting stance.
"Ok next match: Moro vs Kankuro begin" Hayate announced as the 2 genin locked eyes waiting for someone to make the first move.
Ok everyone hopefully you like this chapter; first off, I will just like to say I don't really like long drawn-out battles. I prefer short precise engagements; also, I killed of Neji because with all honesty I never really liked him in general. I mean you try to murder your own cousin and then like 2 arcs later everything is forgiven; well that's anime logic for you. Ok then please like, comment and share and wioth nothing else to say Bye.
