The little boy was peeking out from behind Brielle's leg as I walked towards them, as slowly as I could. My eyes bounced back and forth between him and the beautiful baby girl in her arms. As I got closer, Alexei leaned further out.

I took a little breath and said the words I'd be dying to say for two days. "Hi, Alexei. My name's Rosalie, and I'm," I paused, the words sticking in my throat. "I'm your new mom."

The biggest smile broke across my face. Mom. I was a mom. And this beautiful little boy in front of me, with his hazel eyes and dark curly hair, the exact same color as Emmett's, he was my son. That blonde little angel in my great niece's arms, peering around the room with her big eyes, that was my daughter. They were absolutely the most amazing little people I had ever seen in my life, a life where I'd never thought I'd feel this joy.

Alexei stared at me and finally began stepping towards me. I slipped down to my knees to get closer to him. He twisted his hands in front of him for a moment, staring down at the floor. I heard him take in a deep breath, and he seemed to nod slightly, perhaps encouraging himself. Adorable. Just adorable.

His arms raise up over his head, reaching out to me. My eyes widened and my smiled started to grow. And then he surprised me in the best way.

"Mama," he said. I cried out, sweeping my son into my arms, and pressing my lips to his forehead.

"Always," I choked out. He hugged me tightly, then leaned back and put his hands on my face.

"Mama," he said again, smiling back at me. "I'm home now, Mama."

I nodded, "Yes, love. You're home."

I felt Emmett's large hand touch my back tentatively. I looked at and smiled at him. His eyes were on our son.

"Alexei, love, this is Emmett. He's your new Dad," I informed him, sweeping a strand of hair from his face.

"Papa!" He spoke the word with a slight Russian accent, his 'p's sounding like 'b's, making it even more precious. Emmett swept him out of my arms and tossed him lightly in the air, causing the boy to giggle loudly.

"That's right, bud. Papa's here!" Emmett announced. Alexei giggled again, throwing his arms around Emmett's neck.

Meanwhile, my arms were reaching towards Brielle, taking my little princess into them for the first time. As I pressed my lips to her forehead, my first thought was that Jacob's efforts on the cradle may have been wasted. It was going to be very hard to put her down, and I'm sure Esme would be just as eager to hold her. She was warm in my arms, and her skin was so soft.

Hope giggled, and I looked down to see two dimples appear on her face. It was astonishing how much she resembled me and Emmett. Her smile and dimples were exactly like his, but her hair was the same golden blonde as mine. Anyone would think she really was our biological daughter. I sighed happily and kissed her again.

She let out some little babbling noises and my smiled widened. "Hello, my sweet baby," I cooed.

She giggled again.

"Hope doesn't say any words yet, Mama, but she makes a lot of baby noises, and they can be really silly," Alexei told me.

"Does she? You really love your baby sister, don't you, Alexei?" I asked him warmly. He blushed and nodded.

Finally, I decided we need to introduced the others. I turned to Carlisle and the eager Esme first.

"Alexei, these are your grandparents, Carlisle and Esme," I told him.

They both smiled at him. "Babushka i Dedushka (Grandma and Grandpa)," he confirmed, waving at them.

"Dobro pozhalovat' v nashu sem'yu, Alexei. My tak rady nakonets poznakomit'sya s vami (Welcome to our family, Alexei. We're so happy to finally meet you)," Carlisle replied in flawless Russian.

My son giggled. "Spasibo, Dedushka!"

"I'm so excited you're here, Alexei," Esme told him. "Is it alright if I give you a hug?"

He nodded then reached his arms out to her. She held him tightly for a moment, her eyes closing and a soft smile covering her face.

I passed Hope to her and she did the same, pressing a gentle kiss to her granddaughter's forehead, just as I had.

Next we turned to Alice and Jasper. At first, we'd worried about Jasper's issues with blood, but Brielle had assured us that she'd be able to counter that by altering our perception of the way their blood smelled. None of us would have an issue, even if they scraped themselves or something. Magic was a very useful thing to have access to.

"Hello," Alice chimed. "I'm your Tetya Alice, and this is Uncle Jasper. It'll be easier for you to refer to your uncles in English since 'dyadya' will be hard for Hope when she's learning."

"Tetya Alice can see the future," I explained.

"Oh, like Brielle," he said. "Can Uncle Jasper do cool stuff, too?"

I nodded. "He can make people happy, or make them feel better when they're sad." I chose to leave out the more negative and vicious emotions Jasper could evoke.

"Uncle Jasper is very cool, Mama," Alexei said.

We all laughed. As we did, Hope joined in and then began to babble again. I smiled down and her, and gave her another little kiss. She was just too cute.

We moved to the next two. "This is Uncle Edward and Tetya Bella," I told him.

"You better be careful, Alexei. Edward can see all your thoughts, just like Boahinmaa can, so if you do something naughty, he'll find out," Brielle said from behind us.

His eyes went wide. "No being naughty," he agreed.

"And this is your cousin Renesmee, or Nessie, and Jacob. Seth is a member of Jacob's pack."

"Do you know Leah, too, Jacob?" he asked.

Jacob nodded. "She's also a member of my pack."

Nessie reached out and touched Alexei's face briefly.

"Thank you, Nessie," he giggled.

We showed Alexei all around the house, while everyone took their turn holding Hope. Eventually, she ended bouncing between me, Emmett, and Esme.

I didn't stop smiling the whole day. Brielle ended up cooking dinner to make sure we all got as much time with the kids as possible, and it seemed like Alexei enjoyed it. I enjoyed my time feeding Hope in the rocking chair. She was so calm while she was drinking her formula, and she fell asleep in my arms afterward.

My life as a vampire had felt so empty for so long. The only things I'd wanted in life had been taken away by the change, but now, I realized I had everything I could ever want. I had parents that loved me for me, wonderful siblings, a wonderful niece, and a dear friend. I had my little brother and his family. I had a husband who loved me completely, and who I loved in return.

And if Emmett hadn't been immortal, we couldn't be the parents our children need, parents that could always be there for them. I was truly thankful for the change for the first time.
