It had been 3 weeks since Yakko, Wakko and Dot ran away from Warner Bros. It had been a rough time since they left. First, they needed somewhere to shelter. They had a little bit of money saved up. They tried going to a hotel to have somewhere to sleep.

At least until Yakko tried to get work, but it was hard for a 14 year old to get a job. But he was able to do a couple of jobs here and there. but it was very little money. But it wasn't enough to keep their hotel room. So they were eventually kicked out, literally. Most of their money went to food due to Wakko's Hypoglycemia.

At the moment, they were walking near the park in downtown Burbank, trying to find another place to sleep for the night.

"Yakko, how much longer?" Whined Wakko. His legs were tired from walking.

"Hopefully not much longer." He replied. There gotta be somewhere they can sleep, right? A stomach rumbling was heard. Yakko looked at Wakko.

Wakko surprisingly looked at Dot. She blushed as her stomach growled louder.

"I'm hungry." She said, embarrassed.

"I guess we can stop searching for a sec. Look there's a diner over there."

They made their way to the diner outside of the park. It was a Retro 50's style Train car called Salmonella's. When they open the door, a wave of deliciousness hits their noses which makes their tails wagged. The waitress waved them over.

"Can I help you?" She said politely.

"We would like a booth."

The Warners made their way to the booth in the corner. Yakko let them order whatever they wanted. They thought it was strange, since Yakko was trying to save money, but they still accepted it and ordered Burgers and fries. Yakko watched as his siblings were drooling from their mouths as the waitress set down their plates. Wakko and Dot began scarfing their meals down.

Which made Yakko feel bad that none of them hadn't had a good meal in in the last few days. He thought about their situation which depressed him more. They had no home, no money. But he needs to stay hopeful. He'll find a job that will hire him. Then they could look for a place that will be officially their home. Maybe a loft since they like open space, like the water tower.

He instantly stopped himself thinking about the studio. Soon the bill came and Yakko had to swallow the lump in his throat when he saw the price.

"$39?" As his ears drooped from the expensive bill.

"Is there anything else I can get for you?" She asked.

"Could we get refills on our drinks?"

"Of course." She grabbed their glass mugs. He watched as she walked away. Normally, because the waitress did look beautiful, Yakko's eyes would've turned into red hearts, gushing over her pretty face. But not this time. He watched anxiously, waiting for her to go to the back of the kitchen.

Wakko and Dot saw the look on Yakko's face.

"Yakko, what's going on?" Asked Dot.

"Nothing, just hurry and finish your cheeseburger."

His eyes kept staring at the waitress. Yakko then noticed the cook was in the back. He was big and muscular with black beard and hair everywhere. He looks as if Bluto from Popeye had a son. The cook stared at Yakko with an eyebrow raised with suspicion. He began to sweat as the cook stared at him intensely.

Yakko had no choice but before Wakko and Dot could finish eating, he grabbed them by their wrists. Running to the exit, dragging them along.

"Yakko what are you doing?!" Wakko said, wrapped in one of his brother's arms.

"Butch, there's a dine and dash!" yelled the waitress.

"Hey! Why you little-!" Butch the cook yelled and threw a knife in their direction.

"Of course his name is butch." Yakko's inner mind said. He ducked just in time as the knife flew over him and struck the wall.

He kicked open the door and made a beeline towards the park.

"Put me down Yakko!" Dot said, struggling to break out of his grip.

Get back here! You'll wish you didn't mess with me!"

Yakko turned his head back and saw the cook chasing after them. He began to run faster terrified. He knocked over a couple of trash cans to slow the big man down. Butch slips on a half eaten oatmeal cream cookie, falling face first into crumpled up napkins covered with the sticky juice from melted popsicles.

"That's it! When I get my hands on you, I'm gonna tear you limb from limb!"

Yakko saw a fountain up ahead, instead of running around it, he ran right through it. Splashing water and scaring the pigeons which began to fly all around them.

It is a struggle running through water. But Yakko got to the other side.

Where the cook was waiting for them. He was covered in gooey liquids. He was so angry, his face was red and smoke was coming out of his ears.

The cook grabs Yakko by his ears. Yakko dropped his sibs and silently panicked inside.

"Now I got you." Butch the cook said. "I'll teach you to mess with me."

Wakko and Dot were scared of what was about to happen. Out of the corner of his eye. Wakko saw an old man feeding a bag of seeds to the pigeons. He runs over and snatches the bag.

"Hey Mr. Burger man!" Wakko threw the bag at butch. It splatters on impact, because of sticky juice it well…it sticks to him!

Butch began to laugh.

"That's the best you got?" Then he laughed until he went silent as he noticed every single pigeon around the fountain began to stare at him.

"Oh fudge…" his eyes widened. The multiple pigeons flew at him, attacking to peck the seeds off him and ran away screaming as Yakko was laughing at the sight. Yakko could only grin, they got away from the park in case butch return.

However his smile went away, when he saw Wakko and Dot's face which were frowning at him.

"Why did you do that?" Dot asked. "We've never stolen food before."

"If we couldn't pay, why did we go in there?" Wakko added.

Yakko sighs. "Because you guys need food, especially you Wakko. I don't want you two passed out from lack of hunger. So I was gonna get you guys food no matter what."

"But we never steal." Wakko answered. "I don't like it. It makes me feel queasy.

"Usually we just eat people's leftovers." Dot added.

"Yeah, but that was back on the lot." Yakko reminded them.

It's true. Before they left the studio, The Warners always had to search for food. They never learned how to cook. Wakko tried to make a pizza once but it got bad. Yakko helped, which ended up causing a fire. So they ended up sneaking into the commissary and scaring the actors away from their meals. The Warners never considered it stealing because the actors never actually paid for it.

"Now things are harder." Yakko said gloomily. "I'm trying my best to take care of you two. But it's difficult when people hate you. Can things get any worse?"

"Yakko, your ear!" Dot exclaimed.

"Of course it can." Yakko frowns.

He looked up and a piece of his ear was missing. Guessing Yakko didn't duck in time like I thought. He tried to touch it, only to wince from the stinging pain.

Dot examined the ripped ear. "We need to take you to a doctor."

"It's fine!" Yakko retorted. "As long as it's not bleeding."

"Yakko…" Dot looked at wakko who nodded as if to go on.

"Maybe we should just go back."

Yakko stopped trying to touch his ear, his jaw dropped at what his sister said.

"What, Why?!"

"Look at us!" Dot pointed to their clothes being patched with other pieces of mismatched fabric.

"We're dirty, we smell and our clothes are a wreck. This skirt is not even pink anymore! It looks like wakko's napkin after eating barbecue!"

"There was no point in running away anymore bro." Wakko said. "Let's just go back to being locked up in the tower. At least we'll have a fully stocked fridge."

Yakko couldn't believe what he was hearing. Had his siblings given up on trying? He felt his heart shattered.

"Do you two hear yourselves?!" Yakko said. "Let's just go back to being locked up?! I never heard anyone in their right mind would think like that! Listen just trust me, everything going get better we just- I could try- we should-"

Yakko couldn't get any more words out, he realized where they were now. He leaned and slid down a wall. Tears were developing in his eyes and his lip began to quiver. Wakko and Dot were shocked. They rarely see their big brother cry.

"I'm sorry, Sibs!" He cried trying to wipe the tears away. "Everything has been terrible since we left! We already lost our bags, we have nowhere to sleep and we're flat broke! I'm a terrible brother!"

He cried more as Wakko and Dot looked at each other surprised.

"Why would you think that?" Dot said.

"Yeah, you're a great brother." Wakko adds.

"No I'm not! We have nowhere to live and no food." He sniffed.

"But you do whatever you can to help us." Wakko said as he sat down and proceeded to give Yakko a comforting hug, Dot joined in. Yakko felt grateful to have wonderful siblings.

"Maybe it's just Burbank. Everyone knows who the Warners are. And that's not a good thing."

"Very far from a good thing." Wakko said.

"You're right Dot." Yakko said. "We just need to get farther away. Maybe we should head up to San Francisco and start from there."

"Perfect! Then we'll be super rich when we get there." Yakko and Dot looked at each other confused.

"What do you mean, Wakko?"

We'll go to the Golden Gate Bridge! Borrowing a few nuts and bolts, then we sell them which will be a lot because they're made of gold." Wakko beamed.

"Reminder, uhh we need to buy you a book. We should try making the most of the way, before it gets dark."

So the three got up and began to walk north. Now it's a long walk from Burbank to San Francisco. Not only is the trip long on foot, but getting out of the city takes a while. The Warners got lost a bit, okay actually totally lost, never trust Yakko and Dot with directions.

"It's this way!" Pointing and pulling Wakko in opposite directions. Soon the sun began to set down on Burbank. Wakko and Dot's legs had given up on walking so Yakko had been carrying them for the last hour.

"Are we there yet?" Dot asked tiredly.

"Let me check." Yakko looks up at a billboard.

You are still in Burbank

"Nope." He said flatly. "It's starting to get dark. We should find somewhere to rest."

"Do you see any refrigerator boxes nearby? Preferably, not damp." Dot requested."

"Naw, something more sturdy."

As Yakko and Dot talked, Wakko's stomach began to growling once more.

He hated that food had become scarce since they left. Of course with his stomach that's not an option. His tummy growls as if it was talking.

"Feed me…." Wakko looked at his stomach then at the reader. He shrugged his shoulders.

"You're the boss, tummy." Wakko patted his stomach. He dug in his red hat looking for snack but found nothing. He sighs sadly, then his nose caught a whiff of something. It was sweet and sugary with a hint of apple cinnamon.

It made his mouth drool. Wakko began to float in the air as he followed in the tasty aroma.

"Yakko look!" Dot pointed wakko. Yakko saw and they chased after him. Soon they all began to smell it. They followed after the scent. The trail led them down a street, they looked in awe at the sight they were seeing.

"Every building is some kinda bakery or restaurant!" Wakko exclaimed. His nose twitched and pulled him towards the back of one of the bakeries. Wakko screeched to a halt with Yakko and Dot bumping into him.

"Alright explain yourself little bro." He said dusting himself off.

"Look!" he pointed and there it was. A dumpster filled with just Donuts, cupcakes and Cookies. At that moment a worker came out the door near the dumpster.

"Alright Boss I'm gonna clock out, once I throw out these one day old desserts." The worker said tossing the junk food into dumpster before going back inside slamming the door.

"I love it when the story works in our favor." Dot said to no one in particular.

"Food!" Wakko yelled as he ran and dove into the donuts. Yakko jumped in and then Dot. They swam in the junk food like it was water. Wakko kept stuffing his face with sweets. Dot juggles a couple of cupcakes then tosses them in her mouth. Yakko squeezed a few donuts into a ball before eating it. Pretty soon the once filled dumpster was now only half full.

Yakko and Wakko passed out from a sugar crash. Dot however was still awake. She played with the little cookie in her hands before tossing it away. She looked at her brothers sleeping and shivering from the open breeze.

Yakko and Wakko snuggle for warmth. It was hard for Dot to sleep ever since they left the studio and not for the reason you think. The video from the anniversary party kept playing in her mind over and over again.

"I hate them."

"A bunch of freaks!"

"Biggest mistake of my life."

"Dottie."

"Scared of them."

"Freaks."

"Dot was just as bad."

"Freaks."

"Weird."

"FREAKS."

Dot began to curl up into a ball as she quietly whimpered. As those words kept replaying in her head.

"I'm not a freak."

She wipes the tears and notices how bright the moon was tonight. It gave the alleyway a beautiful blue glow. She also saw a couple of stars sparkle in the night sky. But it was hard to see them, the alleyway obscuring her view.

The moonlight ray glowing on a ladder leading to the roof of the building near the dumpster they were in. She sneaks out the dumpster and climbs up the ladder. Now she saw a much better view of the glittering night sky.

Each star was twinkling, one at a time. Dot sighs as she sits on the roof ledge, staring at the stars. She loves to look at the stars. Back at the studio, Dot would be gazing at the sky and imagining floating along with the stars. Sometimes she wishes she could ride one across the cosmos just to get from her problems, even if it lasts only for a moment.

Just one ride on a star flying across the sky. Like the one currently right now.

"Wait a minute." Dot said and then gasped as she realized it was a shooting star. In 60 years, she had never seen a shooting star. Now after all this time she finally had the chance. Remembering what she learned in books. A shooting star was a wishing star. She was excited she could ask for anything, money, fame, fans, the respect of her peers.

But none of that felt enough. What more could she want than that? What else is there?

Then she heard a voice down below on the street.

"Did you have a good time, Tress?" Said a man.

"Yes! Thanks for the ice cream dad." Said the little girl. A little boy was walking slowly next to her, he began to yawn.

"Oh dear, looks like somebody needs sleep." Said a woman picking up the exhausted boy.

"But mom, I'm not tired." He whined.

"No buts. when we get home, straight to bed Robbie." The dad said.

"Can you carry me?" The little girl said. The dad scooped her up and they continued walking the street as the Warner sister watched.

At that moment Dot Warner knew exactly what she wanted. She recited the rhyme she read in the book. She pressed her hand together like a prayer.

"Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight: I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight." She felt nervous, but then took a deep inhale.

"I want love. I want a home. I want someone to comfort us when we're sad. I want them to stand up for us…. I want them to love me for who I am, and not think I'm a freak. Please Mr. Wishing star…I just want to be loved." She hics.

It stung a lot for Dot. She loves her brothers. But she always wanted that love a parent gives to a child. Scratchensniff was the closest thing to a father figure. But after realizing all of it was a lie. She actually doesn't know what it's like to have a mom and dad.

Dot looks to the sky one last time, before walking back to the ladder and climbing back down to the donut dumpster. Dot crawled in between her brothers. She sighs as she hopes her wish will come true. As she yawned and her eyes began to doze off, Dot began to dream of her ideal parents.

Not realizing the events that have been set into motion.

Thank you for your patience! I really enjoy making this chapter I mostly like the ending. Can you believe Dot want parents? Will her wish come true? Why does it take so long for velocity52 to write these- wait a minute.

Yakko! Get off my account!

Chapter 4 will be here soon.
