On the 12th of December, Lucy and Charity were going out to buy the cakes for Luke's two birthdays.
Luke was miserable and angry. Leni was holding him like a teddy bear, hugging him.
"It's okay. We won't forget." Leni says. Luke just sniffed and stared at the wall.
"You wanna talk about it? Us autistics gotta stick together…." Leni says.
Luke sniffed and talked to Leni. "The worst part is I know they'll forget and ditch me and leave me all alone…." Luke sobbed.
"Luke, maybe it would help if you tried believing in your family." Leni says.
Amber woke up on her birthday and she invited Luke and Oliver and all her friends.
Angry luigi and Alem tuber decorate for the party. Luke just sat in a corner. He was still sore inside.
Soon, Amber's party begins as Lucy goes to him. "What do you want for your birthday, Luke?" Lucy asked.
"What I want is to just get nice things. To have a happy birthday without having to do stuff for other people. It seems most of my birthdays were just people asking me to do things for them instead of them trying to do things for me." Luke says. "Think back to all the birthdays where I've had to do stuff for other people."
"That was before we met." Lucy says.
"JUST ASK THE OTHERS TO TELL YOU!" Luke says.
"When we met, the others were trying to ditch you. Back when we depended on Lincoln, they only asked for help once and you threatened to kill them." Lucy says.
Luke just walks away instead of listening. He didn't want to hear this story again.
Luna sees this. "Luce-Change, you could just ask me about those past birthdays." She says as she holds Lucy.
"Why are you holding me?" Lucy asked.
"Because you look sad." Luna says.
Lucy sobbed against Luna.
Amber opened gifts as she opened Oliver's gift first. She sees a nice dress.
She hugged Oliver. "I love it!" She says.
"What happened?" Lucy sniffed.
"I was there for many of Luke's birthdays. I saw him doing work instead of celebrating. There was nothing but work on most of Luke's birthdays. No cake, no gifts, no parties, no fun of any kind. I could see Luke was absolutely miserable and tired. He never had one good birthday during those times. Just miserable and sad birthdays. He would go to bed hungry most nights because his work left him without dinner." Luna says. "He represses the feelings of all his sad birthdays. Scared that he'll have to work instead of having a party."
"I failed him!" Lucy sobbed.
"How did you fail him?" Luna asked.
"All the parties I planned were failures." Lucy says. But Luna shook her head no.
The next day was the wedding. But Luke didn't bother to go. He had too much on his mind.
Oliver gets ready. But he sees Luke sitting behind him.
"I wanted you to be my best man…" Oliver says. "Do you still want to? You don't have to stay for the whole ceremony." All Oliver cared about at this point was Luke being happy on his wedding day.
"Nope." Luke says. Oliver felt sad.
"Please?" Oliver asked.
"No!" Luke says upset.
"Leave him be, Oliver." Lincoln says.
"I'm not getting married unless he's by my side!" Oliver says, sobbing.
"Ugh, fine!" Luke screams, annoyed as he puts on his blue tuxedo.
Soon, the ceremony began. Luke was forcing a smile as the priest talked. Alem tuber looked annoyed. He still held a grudge.
They soon kissed as people cheered and Gabriel cried tears of joy, proud of his son.
Luke leaves the ceremony and just sits in a corner at the reception.
"I wanna go home!" Luke sobbed. Leni carried him and took him home.
The next day Lucy frowned as she missed Harriet. it still pained her to this day, but she held her feelings back because she knew Luke hated losing his spotlight. She didn't plan for Oliver this year.
She goes downstairs and sees that Lynn finished the orange juice and looked annoyed that Griffin ate her blood pudding.
Luke was just as annoyed because Lynn destroyed his project for university.
"Happy birthday, Lucy. Oh, we did research and you had a present for someone else who's celebrating today." Griffin says.
Lucy was having a difficult time, but held her emotions back. "Who is the gift for?" She asked.
"It says Harriet." Griffin says.
"Give me it!" Lucy says as he and Lynn play keep away, but Lynn tossed it. "Luke, catch!" Lynn says tossing the glass gift.
Luke catches it and gives it to Lucy. He then storms up to Lynn and punches her hard. Before Griffin lays a hand on him, Luke looks at him sternly. Griffin backs off.
Lucy heads out, but Lynn rushes and snatches it as she tries opening it. But a car was heading towards Lynn.
"Lynn!" Leni says as Lynn froze. Oliver flew in at that moment and removed himself and Lynn from the car's path. However, Oliver accidentally dropped the gift as it cracked.
Lucy shattered. Luke saw this and carried the gift inside. He then worked on fixing it until it was like new again.
"Luke, no, you shouldn't be doing any work." Luna says, stopping him.
"It's fixed. Now just leave….leave….leave m-m-me….alone!" Luke sobbed as he ran up to his room and cried.
"Lucy, what have you done? You made him do work." Luna says. But Charity interjects.
"Lucy isn't to blame here, Luna. Lynn is. And as of now, Lynn Leslie, you are grounded until further notice." Charity says.
"No, I should have fixed it." Lucy says.
"She touched something that wasn't hers. And of course, she destroyed a major university project and presentation that Luke worked on for weeks." Charity says. "All the research he did and the details he wrote about this project….gone. Because Lynn spilled some Coke on his laptop. And she will be getting him a new one using her allowance."
"Gr-Great…ha-rr-iet…" Lucy stammered.
"Wait, Harriet?" Luna asked. "Oh, shoot, Harriet and Lucy were born on the same day! That's why Lucy never celebrates, she misses her."
"Lu-ke d-doesn't mind helping me on his days. H-He claims he just hates being forced." Lucy sniffed. "But the gift is broken. That was a magic gift. She'll know the gift was messed with.'' Lucy sobbed as she took the gift and runs out of the house.
"Lucy!" Lynn says, running after her.
Lynn arrived to see Lucy hung on a tree. Blood dripped from Lucy's mouth. Lynn untied Lucy and gave her CPR.
"Lucy, wake up…" Lynn says, but Lucy didn't move.
"I-I killed her…" Lynn says, stunned, feeling guilty.
"If you had just left the gift alone, Lynn, you wouldn't be in this mess." Charity says.
Lynn sobbed. "Don't tell Luke!" Lynn begged.
Lynn shook Lucy's body and felt her pulse. There was nothing there.
"Luke needed you! Lucy wake up, wake up!" Lynn sobbed "I'll do your chores! I'll never play sports again! I'll dress like a girl! Please! I'll even feed Fangs…" Lynn says to her dead sister.
Lynn took Lucy to Luke.
"Luke, heal her…" Lynn begged.
"I can't." Luke sniffed.
"Why?" Lynn asked.
"Psyche!" Lucy says. Lynn screamed and hit Lucy with a baseball bat 3 times thinking she was a zombie.
"Ow…" Lucy moaned as Luke laughed.
"Ha! We got her good!" Luke says.
"This was a prank?" Lynn asked
"Yeah, I'd never deliver a gift until 8 p.m. that's payback for what you did." Lucy says.
"Lucy was never dying." Luan says, having been in on the prank.
Luke disappears at this point, still sore with Lynn.
That night, the siblings decorated for Lucy. Luke didn't bother to help with any of it.
He heads to Jason's house and sees the cosmic buddies. Well, half of them.
They were watching a movie. He sits on Jason's front porch in the cold. Jason lets him in.
Lucy tries to leave the house with the gift, but Luan offers Lucy her gift.
"I can't, I need to leave." Lucy says.
"But Lucy, I had this party for you." Lynn says, holding her arm.
Lucy gets free and runs, but it is too time, they really did it.
At Jason's house, Luke sobbed, feeling all kinds of upset. They all comfort Luke as he tells them what's been going on and why he hasn't felt safe at home.
They feel bad and call CPS.
Trucks came to the house and soon the siblings who caused Luke trouble were removed, namely Lynn and Griffin.
Lucy sighed, took her cake, and headed off to Maggie and Haiku's place. She couldn't stand to be in her own house anymore tonight after everything that went on.
