Emila woke up on her birthday. Today, there will be a huge magic festival and a competition. She had been training hard. Emila sighed, getting ready. She was determined to win.
Oliver was practicing his magic as Luke watched him. He knew Oliver was the magic champion. Luke learned from him as he entered the competition as well.
"Good luck, Sabrina." Hilda says.
"Remember, don't expose yourself. " Zelda says as Sabrina nods.
"Why is Emma going in this?" Alem tuber asked
"She's a prodigy in magic, she spoke at the age of 1 and I've been teaching her." Skylia says.
"Oh, brother…." Angry Luigi says.
Meanwhile, Lisa just stuck to her science work.
Luke and Oliver were ready to compete.
"It's a solo event." Lucy stated.
"WE KNOW THAT!" Both of them shouted.
Lucy was shaking nervously.
Later, Sabrina and Emila arrived. "Ok, time for me to beat Oliver at his own game" Emila says.
"Luke is competing in this, too." Sabrina says. "He's been training."
"Yeah, but I've prepared my whole life for this. I've done tests and everything. People only think that Luke and Oliver are perfect. Honestly, Oliver keeps on bragging and Luke's fine, but I've never won. This year will be different." Emila says.
"Why did I agree to this?" Angry Luigi asked himself.
"To protect Emma." Skylia says.
Soon, the host came. "Welcome, everyone! Today will be a show full of tricks and excitement as most of our best magicians are here! Who will win? Let's find out!" he says.
"You will need knowledge and skills for round 1." the host says. Luke and Oliver watched and waited.
Drell smirked. " My students will succeed." Drell says. Sabrina noticed Cassandra.
"Oh, no." Sabrina thought.
There was a big maze. "This maze has lots of traps." The host says and soon the race was on.
Angry Luigi runs through the maze as some magic traps tie him up.
Angry Luigi used his crystal powers "I totally forgot I have other powers." Angry Luigi said and rushed off. "Hey, guys, I got other cool powers, but it's time to mix it up. Magical Elemental Storm!" Angry Luigi says as it was out of control and caused some rain and ice everywhere.
Emila noticed a password and smirked as this was a password not much people knew. She entered it as Oliver flew by. "Ready to lose?" Oliver asked.
"Not on your life! It's my birthday!" Emila says and flies past Oliver.
Luke was dodging some scary traps as he fell down a pit. A monster tried to eat Luke, who hissed.
Cassandra tries blasting Sabrina with Magic but Sabrina dodges as Cassandra's lackeys grab her.
"Good work." Cassandra says as Emila came in for the save.
"Excellent! Helping those in need!" The host says.
Angry Luigi smirked as he fell in a pit and noticed Luke fighting the monster.
"Luke, move aside, I got this." Angry Luigi says and shoots a thunder ball at it.
"Yeah, come at me and taste my new elemental storm!" Angry Luigi says and shocked himself.
The monster roared and tried to grab Angry Luigi who rushed off.
"Wait, I got nothing on me." Angry Luigi says.
"Power-ups are legal since it's magic." Luke says.
"Okay, then, let's kick this monster's butt!" Angry Luigi says and leaped up and spun in mi, d air with Luke "Double Elemental Hurricane!" they shout as lightning, flames, wind, you name it, formed a tornado and spun the monster, sending it flying.
More monsters came as Luke and Angry Luigi shrieked running out of the pit.
Soon Oliver made it, winning the 1st round as Emila frowned and looked down as people cheer for him.
"Am I washed up?" Emila asked herself.
Round 2 was a magical showcase.
Oliver went first, grinning as he did a card trick.
"Ooooh!" the fans say.
He also did a few tricks that involved stars and glitter.
People cheered for Oliver as he finished.
Angry Luigi goes up. "Okay, let's do this." He says and creates a Crystal sculpture of Enchantra as she smiles a bit.
Sabrina made flowers sing.
Luke goes up next. Luke grinned and made jewels of assorted sizes appear. He then worked his magic as he worked on a "jewel painting" of a 4-D puzzle piece with the words "Autism Awareness- We All Have One Voice!"
The crowd "oohed" and "aahed". Girls cheered for Luke while some sighed dreamily. Women fainted when he flashed a smile.
Emila looked down feeling unconfident and washed up.
Emma went on stage and used magic to make herself adorable as people went "Awww".
Emila sighed and went on stage using a spell to create a magical pack of singers and dancers.
After a bit, Luke wondered if he even did well. He knew he wasn't good enough.
"You did great." Lucy says.
"Thanks, I guess." Luke says.
The final round was a race to the trophy. You'd have to get to the trophy room, grab the trophy, and leave the maze with the trophy.
"I got this in the bag." Oliver says.
Emila sighed. "Losing on my birthday again. My birthday is cursed."
The race begins as Oliver flies ahead.
"Okay, Emila, I'm going to let you win this, it is your birthday." Sabrina says. Emila smiled as Luke flew after Oliver. Two kids used magic ropes on Luke. Luke avoided them as Angry Luigi was rushing.
"Only way to beat Oliver is to give him a taste of his own medicine." Angry Luigi says and did a spin jump with electric sparks and followed Oliver, basically forming a mini electric tornado. Luke just hissed.
Emila and Sabrina flew behind Luke.
"We can't use portals. Oh, there's the trophy." Emila says.
Angry Luigi nearly hits Oliver, but Oliver blasts Angry Luigi. Luke tries to use his elemental hurricane on Oliver as Oliver uses a magic shield.
"SHE WINS, OKAY?!" Luke screamed, flying off. He knew he was beaten.
"No, I win." Oliver says.
"Not this time." Emma says as Angry Luigi took out a cape feather and turned into Cape Angry Luigi.
"Okay, Oliver, this is my year." Emila says.
"No!" Oliver says and flies off to the exit as Cape Angry Luigi hits him with a cape dive, but Oliver kicks him as Angry Luigi took out a fire flower and shot fire balls. Oliver dodged as Fire Angry Luigi rose up crystal walls.
Oliver looked annoyed.
"Ha! And you can't teleport!" Angry Luigi says as Emma grabs the trophy and runs.
Lucy looked for Luke. She soon finds him.
"Hey, Luke." Lucy says.
"What is it now?" Luke says.
"You did great, even if you didn't win. What matters is you tried your best. You were amazing." Lucy says.
"HOW ABOUT I NEVER COMPETE IN ANYTHING EVER AGAIN? MAYBE THEN EVERYONE WILL KNOW I HAVE NO POTENTIAL IN ANYTHING!" Luke says, flying away as he sobs. "JUST CALL ME THE BOY WHO LOSES AT MAGIC AND MUSIC AND EVERYTHING ELSE!"
"Oliver hurt Luke again…" Lucy says.
"Okay, got it!" Emila says, grabbing the trophy. "Finally, I can win!"
Oliver hissed. "You'll never win, not as long as I want to." Oliver says.
With Luke, he wasn't anywhere in town. Or even in San Antonio at all. He was just gone.
Lucy looks all over for him. Luna and Leni come to help.
"Oliver drove him away." Lucy says.
"Luke? Where did you go?" Luna asked.
Lucy used a tracker spell and she found him.
"I found Luke!" Lucy says.
"Where is he?" Luna asked.
Lucy texted her the location and soon, Luna joined her with Leni.
Cassandra grabbed the trophy and was close, but Oliver was furious and shot a huge magic bomb. Emila realized that she needed to save her friends, but she couldn't save herself, so she portaled her friends and as many young contestants as she could before it blew up.
"At least we're out of range." Angry Luigi says as the explosion was just that big as they were crushed under rubble and rocks.
"Emma! Bro!" Alem tuber says.
Lucy reads Luke a funny poem as he looks down.
"Thanks. But I still feel like a loser." Luke sighed.
"You'll always be a winner to us." Leni says.
"And us too!" Lola says with Lana
"How'd you find us?" Lucy asked.
"Lana's a good sniffer." Lola says.
Emila slowly woke up. She couldn't really move. her body was battered up from Oliver's rage. She looked to see a bruised Emma on a bed.
"What happened?" Emila asked
"You did well." Drell says. "You didn't officially win, but everyone says you have a good heart."
"Is everyone okay?" Emila asked.
"A little wounded, but okay. Listen, you're not going to be walking for months. I tried using healing magic, but Oliver went overboard with that attack. He did win." Drell says.
Oliver went off to find Luke.
Luna looked at Oliver, furious. "Are you insane?! You really are an egomaniac! You tried to kill someone just so you could win not one, but two competitions!" Luna said as Luke was sobbing.
Luke looked away from Oliver. He knew he wasn't good enough at anything to win anymore. He just got up and started to fly back to Inkwell Castle.
Emila sighed as she noticed her friends brought her a birthday cake for her sweet 16.
She looked at the cake before her as her friends sang.
In a dark void
Angry Luigi woke up and runs around and sees Insanity
"You're a fool. Honestly, you were wounded, yet you attempted to save Sam. Well, you succeeded and didn't. Sam's in a coma and let's just say you kicked the bucket." Insanity says.
"I'm dead?" Angry Luigi asked
"Yep, which is why I'm taking over" Insanity says
"Wait, this is in my head which means….Elemental Hurricane!" Angry Luigi says, unleashing a huge hurricane as Insanity blocked.
"He's learning! Damn it!" Insanity says and was sent flying as he rushed towards Angry Luigi and tried to attack Angry Luigi, who leaped away as the battle for Angry Luigi's body began. Insanity unleashed energy spikes as Angry Luigi rushed around dodging as he leaped and stomped on his head.
"Elemental Storm!" Angry Luigi shouts as there was a big explosion.
Angry Luigi smiled before Insanity rose up and slashed him a bunch of times.
Chalice finds Luke "Luke, are you okay? I heard what happened, sorry. Had a big exam and project due at the same time." She looked down, unsure who would be their 3rd member since Oliver killed Angry Luigi by mistake.
"We'll just…have to f-forfeit…" Luke says sadly.
Chalice hated to see her husband like this and held his hands.
"Bro, come back!" Alem tuber says and remembers Angry Luigi's power ups and feeds him a 1-up mushroom.
Angry Luigi gasped, waking up.
"He's alive!" Skylia says and hugs her son.
"Yay!" Emma says as Emila eats some of her cake.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save most of you." Emila says as Sabrina had to feed Emila.
"Hey, it's okay, you tried your best." Sabrina says.
Angry Luigi looked down as his body had cracks on it.
Luke began to pack away his costumes and attempted to neutralize his magic. He knew he'd never win anything again or ever be good at anything ever again.
Lucy stops him.
"I will always lose. I don't get victories anymore." Luke says.
"You will win America's Next Hitmaker…" Lucy says.
"No I won't " Luke hissed. "Someone else will."
It was clear that he was completely broken and had lost all hope in winning.
"This is all Oliver's fault!" Lucy sobbed. Her mission was to give Luke happiness and Oliver ruined it.
Lucy took his hand. "You're not safe here. I hate doing this, but goodbye, Luke." Lucy says as she takes him to Garrett's place.
She came home alone, looking sad. She could see the siblings heavily scolding Oliver.
"He's gone! It's all our fault! We were never good enough!" Lucy sobbed.
"Luce-Change, stop being hard on yourself." Luna says before noticing she came alone.
Lincoln opened his arms as Lucy sobbed on him.
"You made Lucy take Luke to Garrett's place. That only happens when….You go too far." Luna says.
"For a trophy. You've won. Let others have a chance." Lori says.
"Yeah, you didn't want Luke to win America's Next Hitmaker. You took his team out of the competition." Lola says.
Angry Luigi thinks of Luke and Chalice and groans. "They need you. It may seem like they don't, but they do." Savannah says as Angry Luigi took out a tanooki suit and flew off.
Garrett's family was giving Luke all the care he needed. Garrett could see Luke was disheartened. He felt like he'd never have a victory to celebrate anymore.
