The next week, Lisa wakes up on her birthday. She looked annoyed, knowing her siblings would give her a party when she'd rather do other things.
But to her surprise, the family didn't plan anything for her birthday.
Lisa looked around. But all she saw was Luke and Oliver in the living room, packing for their sophomore year at Fairway University.
"Hello." Lisa says to the boys. Luke and Oliver smiled at her.
"Shouldn't you be packing as well?" Luke asked.
"That's Todd's job." Lisa says.
"Is it hard to believe that university starts back next week?" Oliver asked.
Lisa nods. She couldn't wait to see Beau again. She hadn't seen much of him all summer. She blushed as she crossed her legs.
With the other siblings, they were doing their own things. The siblings that were grounded still couldn't do much.
Lucy was recovering as she looked down. "Sigh, alone here…" Lucy says.
The cups were packing up for university as well. Cuphead was trying to decide which Dirk Dangerous figures to take with him for his part of the dorm room. He had already packed most of the comics. Mugman had packed ahead of time.
Chalice was almost done packing. She just had another suitcase to pack and she would be done.
"Nope, he's not attending." Skylia says as Randy was too sick to be in the finals and the cosmic buddies dropped out, so it was just two teams and the finals were tomorrow.
Delta dove and kicked Jason as Jason groaned, trying to punch Delta, who dodged.
"You're getting better, Jason." Delta says as Emila practices her Magic. Brandy was nervous. He knew Oliver was better and at least Luke ended the grudge.
"I got a present for you, Lisa." Leni says. Lisa opened it, seeing a birthday cake charm that said "Happy Birthday". Lisa smiled a bit.
Lisa sees a cake and smiles at it. She knew Luke made it before he started packing for university. She wished for him to win and blew her candles out.
The next day was a big one. Luke and Oliver woke up nervous.
Meanwhile, Angry Luigi was dashing away from a few bounty hunters as one tried using a chainsaw on him, but Angry Luigi barely dodged.
Delta leaped and kicked one, then dodged a missile. She then smiled as she leaped and punched him, then looked at the rest as she rushed so fast, she was a white blur ramming into them.
"And done! Isn't it fun being targeted?" Delta asked.
"No!" Angry Luigi says as the Golden Shooter shoots lasers at them. Delta dodged and shot chaos spears at the Golden Shooter, who teleported and blasted Delta, sending her back and flying.
Angry Luigi looked nervous and tried to use the Elemental hurricane, but the Golden Shooter blasted him.
"Leave them alone!" Chrissy says with Bill and Savannah.
The Golden Shooter grabbed Angry Luigi and Delta and flew to his ship to claim his reward money.
"My girlfriend!" Chrissy shrieked.
Meanwhile, Cuphead planned on proposing to Lucy. He bought a skull ring.
Mugman listened to Chalice singing in the shower. She sounded like an angel.
"Oh, right, your show is tonight…" Delta says as she frees herself.
"Get back in there!" The Golden Shooter says and shoots lasers. Delta laughed, running.
"Time for an elemental storm!" Angry Luigi says as he attempted it, but the ship lost power.
The Golden Shooter looked weaker as Delta kicked the head off.
"Let's go! Chaos Control!" Delta says, teleporting away.
They arrive in the Mushroom Kingdom, where the show would take place.
"Hi!" Peach says.
Brandy sighed, thinking Oliver was going to be better.
Oliver gets ready in a private room in the castle. Luke was doing the same.
Luke kept thinking he would lose.
"Are you having bad thoughts? Listen. we can win." Chalice says
"But Oliver's better!" Luke says
"What he said!" Angry Luigi says, agreeing with Luke as Angry Luigi was close to losing his mind.
"Do we have to sing the song again?" Chalice asked.
"Well…maybe." Luke sniffed.
Chalice started to sing "Turnin' Up The Charm" as the boys sang along with her.
"You can do this!" Luna says.
"Yeah, you have the spirit and star power!" Lola says.
"You can do anything!" Lori says. "And if you win, we're celebrating your victory at Fairway. Everyone will be celebrating you and Chalice!"
"So, what are you waiting for?! Kick Oliver's butt!" Randy says.
"Don't give up!" Savannah says.
"You've got this!" Jason says.
"You always win when your family is on the line." Emila says.
"You have won so much!" Garrett says.
Chalice smiled at this, seeing Luke and Brandy's friends come together like this. She only wished she had friends other than the cup brothers.
Soon, April came on stage with Gemma.
"This is it, ladies and gentlemen! The Season 9 finale! We are live from the Mushroom Kingdom, where tonight, our season 9 champions will be crowned!" April says, smiling.
"Tonight, our two teams will perform through four rounds of competition. America, your votes are more crucial now than they ever were all season. So, vote like you mean it tonight!" Gemma says.
"Coming up first is the trio of Oliver Fox, Cuphead, and Mugman!" April says.
"First round theme is Give Me Space." Gemma says. "Perform an outer space-themed song or do a song related to outer space."
They perform "Rocket Man" by Elton John, space suits and all.
Everyone cheered for them. Cuphead and Mugman even flew around as if they were floating through space, catching Oliver at the end of the song. People cheered louder for that.
"Coming up for their first round are the stars of this show, Luke Huntington, Mrs. Chalice, and Brandy Waterlash!" Gemma says as fans cheered.
They appeared on a set of planets. They began to dance across them as they performed "Spaceman" by Harry Nilsson.
Angry Luigi leaped up, taking out a red star and transformed into Galaxy Angry Luigi, having a green and black costume change. He flew up taking Luke and Chalice. Fans gasped as they were in space.
They continued before getting back down as fans cheered.
Second Round Theme: Favorite Season 9 Performance
Oliver, Cuphead, and Mugman came up and performed the "Cuphead Rap" by JT Music, as it was their favorite performance.
Girls screamed and some fainted.
Luke, Chalice, and Brandy dressed in chef outfits and did their "Best Served Cold" performance.
Fans cheered and went wild for Luke and Chalice's choreography to this song.
Soon, it was break time.
"You're doing great!" Garrett says.
"You guys are killing it out there!" Luna says.
"Yeah!" Lisa says.
Both teams get interviewed minutes later.
"How are you 3 feeling?" April asked Luke, Chalice, and Brandy.
"Great! It's been a long season." Chalice says.
"What will you do after this season ends?" April asked.
"University." Luke and Chalice say. Angry Luigi wasn't sure of what he would do.
With Oliver during his interview…
"We got this in the bag." Oliver says.
"We're going to university again." Cuphead says.
"Yeah!" Mugman says.
They then talk more about the band.
Soon, it was time for the 3rd round as Oliver and the cups get ready. Oliver and the cups soon came out to cheers.
"Oliver, Cuphead, Mugman!" Fans cheer as they smile.
Lucy was recovering in the hospital, thinking of a poem to write for Luke and Cuphead; she was going to be released in 10 minutes.
Soon, Rosalina came to pick Lucy up and arrived.
Third Round Theme: Grease Is The Word- Perform a song from the first or second movie!
Oliver, Cuphead, and Mugman performed "Prowlin" from Grease 2.
Girls screamed for them as they performed. Cuphead winked at a few of them.
They finished as Lucy blushed.
Soon, Luke came out with his team as the fans cheered.
Chalice just looked down as Luke took her hand. They then performed "We Go Together" from the first Grease movie.
The crowd loved the performance and gave the trio a standing ovation with some wild cheers.
The next break came. Chalice began to shed hot, milky tears.
"Is something wrong, my angel?" Luke asked.
"You have all these friends, while I have none. No one ever wanted to be friends with me aside from the ding-dongs. But now the ding-dongs are my siblings. And now I feel friendless again." Chalice says sadly. "Because I see your friends, and now it makes me think that I will never have friends again."
"We can be your friends." Peach says.
"Oh, yeah!" Mario says
"Yeah, you're pretty cool…" Daisy says
"I got my money on you." Rosalina says as Luigi gives a thumbs up.
Chalice smiled.
"We can have a girls' night out sometime." Amy says.
"Hopefully when university isn't in session." Chalice says.
"Whatever that is." Amy says as Shadow crossed his arms.
Soon, the final round was upon the two trios.
"The final round theme is Finals Freestyle. Do a freestyle routine that gets everyone excited!" April says. "Oliver, Cuphead, Mugman, show us what you got!"
They soon came up on stage as Lucy was on Luke's side.
Ribby and Croaks cheered for Cuphead and Mugman, even Bowlboy did, even if he had his intentions.
Mugman froze. "Bowlboy?" Mugman asked as Bowlboy just sat and watched with his creepy smile.
Oliver took Mugman's hands. "Focus on our performance. Just focus on what we practiced, okay?" He says.
Mugman nodded.
They soon begin their performance of "When Can I See You Again?" by Owl City.
Fans screamed and cheered at their performance.
"I think Chalice could visit Smash Manor." Sonic guessed.
"Why am I not in it?" Amy asked.
Sonic gulped.
"I don't see the point in that." Knuckles says.
"Good luck, new bestie." Amy says to Chalice. Soon, it was time.
"Coming up, the final performance for season 9, given by our stars of the show! Give it up for Luke Huntington, Mrs. Chalice, and Brandy Waterlash!" Gemma says.
They come out as Brandy decides there would be no more games. Luke was going all out. Brandy was using his alter-ego and Chalice was going to give it her all. The siblings were excited.
They began their performance of "Now Or Never" from High School Musical 3.
Fans cheered. They soon did a little trick at the end. They flip up as Brandy was holding Chalice as she holds Luke. Fans cheered.
April had tears of joy watching this.
"Wait, my friend has something to say." Luke says as Cuphead came on stage.
"I'd like Lucy Huntington to come on stage." Cuphead says.
Lucy looked confused and went on stage.
"Lucy, you mean a lot to me. And I mean a lot. I want you to be my spooky sweet cake. Will you marry me?" Cuphead asked.
"Yes!" Lucy says as the crowd went wild. Lucy blushed as he put the skull ring on her as she kissed him on stage.
Soon, as the results were being tallied, everyone was relaxing.
"Lucy's getting married! " Luke says.
"Welcome to the marriage club, Lucy!" Bobby says.
"Yeah!" Luke says.
"It's nothing much." Lucy says shyly.
"Do you wanna be in our band? We need a planner, since we're kinda busy and we also need a keyboardist on Halloween. We are playing and performing at the Fairway Fright Fest this year and all." Cuphead says.
"You really want me?" Lucy asked. Cuphead nodded.
"What do you say?" Luke asked.
Lucy nodded with a smile.
Soon, it was time to see the final score.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the results are in!" Gemma says.
"This season has been hot and now it comes down to this. It's time to crown our season 9 champions!" April says.
The crowd cheers as Gemma holds an envelope containing the final results.
"Taking 2nd place is the team of Oliver, Cuphead, and Mugman. Which means…" Gemma says, pausing for dramatic effect. "Our winners are Luke, Chalice, and Brandy!"
Everyone cheered.
"Wahoo!" Lana says.
Luke was just speechless. He couldn't believe he won again. But this ANH victory just seemed more well-deserved than all of his past ones.
Brandy was stunned.
Chalice squealed as they saw the trophy.
All of their friends cheered and clapped for them.
As they left the show venue, Luke couldn't have been happier. He had been through so much and now he knew how much everyone cared about him.
