It was time for school as Lincoln sighed, getting up.
"Hey, Lincoln." Lucy says, scaring him. Lincoln falls backwards on the floor.
At Fairway University, Chalice was still asleep. Luke knew how to get her up.
"Rise and shine, Chalice, my dear! Your public awaits!" Luke says cheerfully.
Chalice wakes up and sings her charm song as they soon get ready. Chalice was dressed in her newest university dress. Luke couldn't take his eyes off of her.
Lucy heads to school looking down; she just wasn't happy. Lucy thinks about turning back and skipping school. Then she thinks of Luke and what he would do.
She decided to be a bit more positive.
At Fairway during lunch, Luke sat with Beau and Lisa.
Lisa was thinking about stuff.
"How are classes going so far?" Luke asks the couple.
"Same as always." Lisa says.
"Pretty good." Beau says. "Have you thought about how you want your campaign for student council president, Luke?"
Luke thinks for a minute or two.
He then explained. "Sweets and treats with a hard-hitting campaign." Luke says.
"I like it! Wanna work on posters later?" Beau asked Luke.
"Your dorm or mine?" Luke asked.
"Yours." Beau says with a smile.
"I'll provide the snacks that we like." Luke says. "The good snacks."
Beau grinned. "I can't wait!" He says.
Lucy was coming to visit after school as she brought her piano.
She looks for Cuphead, and she sees him planning Mugman's campaign.
"Sigh…" Lucy says.
Cuphead then notices Lucy and smiles at her.
Beau and Luke were making posters and talking about the Fairway Homecoming Dance at the end of September.
"Are you campaigning to be Homecoming King this year?" Luke asked Beau. Beau nods.
"I'm going to work on that campaign soon as your manager. First, we get through my student council president campaign. Then we'll work on your Homecoming King campaign." Luke says.
"Good idea." Beau says, smiling. "Want to see some of the campaign slogans I have for you?"
Some of Beau's slogans for Luke: "Don't Blow it, Chews Luke For Student Council President!", "Don't be left feeling sour, vote for Luke!", "You can trust that things won't fall to pieces if you pick Luke for president!", "A vote from you would be M&M, Marvelous and Magnificent!", "Don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers, Vote for Luke!"
Luke grins at them all. "I love them!" He says.
Lucy planned Lincoln's birthday. He was turning 14 this year. In all honesty, after all he had to deal with this year, he didn't want to celebrate his birthday. But Lucy wouldn't take no for an answer.
Lincoln sighed. Lucy smiled as she tried her best on the piano.
A few days later, people cheered as a blue streak raced across Green Hills. Sonic smirked as he leaped, curling into a ball, ramming into badniks and leaped off a ramp and landed on the Tornado. Tails flew around preforming a barrel roll avoiding missiles as Eggman growled
"Hey, Egghead!" Sonic says.
"Hi-ya!" Amy shouted out as she slammed her hammer into some badniks. Knuckles punched a few away.
"Guys, can we hurry this up? I'm heading for a girl's night out." Amy says
"I'm attending Mario's birthday on the 13th" Sonic says offscreen as he homing attacks the Egg Glider causing it to explode.
Sonic gave a thumbs up. Tails smiled as the Master Emerald dropped in Knuckles' hands.
Amy smirked. "See ya." she says.
"Okay, Bowser kid, come on!" Daisy says as Roy tries punching her. Daisy leaped and slapped him across the planet.
Mario smiled as he leaped into action. Bowser leaped and shot a punch at Mario, who dodged as Bowser landed behind Mario and shot flames. Mario jumped and hit a block, gaining a Fire Flower and turning into Fire Mario. Fire Mario shot two fireballs at Bowser who shot flames causing an explosion.
Luigi ran from Larry as Rosalina hit Larry with a star spin. Ice Peach shot ice balls freezing Wendy and Iggy.
Luigi took out a blue shell and went into it, ramming into Morton and Ludwig. Mario took out a star and used it, punching Bowser down.
With Luke, he was hanging more posters he made with Beau.
He needed this. Chalice was admiring a few of the posters.
"Gotta go! But could I have a few of your posters, Lukey? I want the girls to have one for their walls." Chalice says.
"Of course! Don't forget to tell me how much they like the candy puns, okay? You can even tell me later if you want." Luke says to Chalice.
"Of course, my little love muffin." Chalice says, kissing Luke and taking a few of the posters before leaving.
Mugman was hanging flyers while Cuphead watched.
"If you win, Luke will break." Cuphead says.
"Cuphead, it's up to the voters. It's not up to me. The student council presidential debate is tonight. And all of Fairway University will be watching." Mugman says.
Luke was finished hanging his posters, looking worried.
"Something wrong?" Beau asked. "You can tell me."
Luke hated losing. Beau understood and held Luke's hands.
"Let's go work on your campaign candy cards. That'll make you feel better." Beau says.
He smiled as he carried the candy in a bag to Beau's dorm.
With Chalice and the girls, they were in love with Luke's campaign posters and chose the ones they liked.
"He's so cool!" Amy says.
"Who took the pictures of him for these posters?" Rosalina asked.
"Beau, OK? OK, on to the ding-dongs' anniversary. This is anniversary #11 on their radar." Chalice says. "Luke and Oliver have been helping me work on their celebration. Now, I want you to tell me what you're bringing into this."
"A cake, of course! I had the brilliant idea to make a red & blue marble cake." Amy says.
"That sounds incredible!" Chalice says.
"I've been planning Mario and Luigi's birthday for a bit. Can you girls help me? It's tomorrow. Brandy and Randy helped a bit." Peach says as they agree to help each other.
Meanwhile, Benny was planning his wedding with Luan.
"This will be so much fun!" He says.
"I know!" Luan says.
Later, at the debate, Luke looks down.
"Of course she had plans tonight. But that's okay. I'll get through this without her." Luke says, getting ready.
Lisa and Lori were there to support Luke.
Luke sniffed as he prepared to go on stage for the debate.
People cheered for Luke as he stood at his podium.
"First question goes to Luke. What makes you stand out from the other candidate?" Roger says.
Luke explained his achievements.
"Very interesting….Mugman, same question for you." Roger says.
"I'm willing to make this school better and give everyone a chance to feel welcome." Mugman says and goes on about improving things like canceling stuff that doesn't make sense like prank wars.
During the break, after a few more questions, Luke just looked down backstage. He knew he was blowing it. He started to cry.
"I'm g-gonna lose!" Luke sobbed. "I have a very small support system…."
Lori holds him.
"Maybe I should just….give up. I'm blowing it…" Luke says sadly. Beau takes his hand and looks at him.
"You can still do it." he says.
"You're doing great!" Lori says.
Luke felt very heartbroken at this point. Lori asked Roger to delay the rest of the debate, which he does. Luke ran out of the auditorium, feeling very unconfident. Luke sobbed, broken. He couldn't believe he was going to lose. He had a small support system. His confidence was shot. He just felt….sad. Very sad.
Mugman sees this and considers forfeiting. But then he sees why Luke is really upset.
Meanwhile, Lola was helping train younger pageant stars. "There you go!" Lola says with a smile.
Lucy voted for Luke a while back. She writes some poems and prepares for Luke's birthday.
Lisa finds Luke. Luke is sobbing uncontrollably and feeling discouraged and betrayed.
The others had given their support online. But voting wasn't supposed to happen for another week. Luke dragged himself away.
