A/N: Thank you to everyone who has reviewed thus far, I hope you all have enjoyed the story. As usual I do not own Harry Potter or the world, characters, trademarks or other associated properties owned by J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. I only own this story that they partake in. Anyway, back to the show :) This chapter has been edited to its current version by my beta MionellSparlockineco and myself.
Harry stared at the man before him, his pale drawn face and skin somewhat healthier looking since his last appearance in the Daily Prophet. He could not believe what the man had just said, how could he be his God Father?
Hermione sighed quietly as he felt her mentally hug him. "He is your God Father." She said softly, "I saw it happen in the visions" she continued in their mental conversation.
Harry looked from Sirius to the Dursley's and back. "If you are my god father, then why was I raised by them?"
Sirius sighed and sat quietly back on the chair he had stood from. "That, is a very long story." He said, a bitter smile on his thin lips. "A story that I never thought I would actually be able to get the chance to tell."
Dumbledore cleared his throat and called everyone's attention back to the matter at hand. "A story that is better told after we deal with other more pressing matters."
Hermione nodded and pulled him closer to her as Professor Flitwick approached them again and began to wave his wand in a series of intricate patterns. "You two must remain physically connected during the forming of this bond." he said as blue writing began to issue forth from his wand.
Everyone watched as the runes began to dance around him and Hermione, he could feel the magic of what had started to form their bond mix with the bonding ritual being cast by Professor Flitwick. He knew that it was important for the ritual to be held within four hours of the magic that starts the bond finishes the part where it shows the two all about each other ends or if the ritual is not performed the pair will die. He had heard Hermione warn him of that on their way to Dumbledore's office.
"Tonight we bond together these two forever as Soul Mates." the tiny wizard stated as he continued to wave his wand, mathematical equations mixing with the runes as the magic of the ritual continued to mix with that of the bond. "We perform this ritual to stabilize and form a bond that grows and transforms with them. A true bonding of souls as one, forever, thus they choose, thus shall it be."
As he finished the last sentence the runes began to tie together, before vanishing in a flash of bright light. As the runes vanished he could feel the magic taking hold in his very being as he and her were joined together, thus linking the bond for eternity. He smiled as he looked over at her and found that she was beaming at him.
"Congratulations." Professor Flitwick said as he stepped back, his job done. "I believe it is now time to deal with the legal stuff, Albus!"
Dumbledore stood from the chair behind his desk and proceeded to pull a few scrolls from his belt and stepped out into the center. As he did so the scrolls began to follow him, opening as they hovered along until they came to rest before Harry and Hermione.
"These." Dumbledore said as he indicated the scrolls. "Are a running list of all known Soul Bonds, you will notice that now your names appear at the bottom of the list as the most recent date." He continued as the scrolls rolled their selves back up. "These belong to you, all who share a Soul Bond receive a copy of these scrolls so that they may, if they choose, contact each other if the person you wish to contact is still alive."
The scrolls landed neatly in Hermione's lap and she quickly stuffed them in her bag, ensuring that they were not in danger of damage. Turning their attention back to Dumbledore they waited for him to continue.
"As of this moment due to your Bond, you are both now considered legal adults within the Magical world." He said as he looked them both over. "The type of bond you two share also would constitute as a binding marriage contract should you two wish for it to do so."
Harry and Hermione looked at each other and he smiled softly as he lightly took her hand. "If Hermione will have me, I would love to call her my wife." He said softly as the group awaited their answer.
She blushed as tears formed in her eyes. "I will only ever want you Harry." she said, wiping the tears away hurriedly.
Dumbledore nodded softly and another set of scrolls flew across the room to settle in the lap of Cornelius Fudge. "Dumbledore?" he asked, his eyes looking down to the two scrolls.
"It's binding whether you sign it or not Cornelius, you however are the presiding Leader of the Magical community in which they reside, meaning that you will loose your Magic if you do not sign as that would show that you are not worthy of it just as you would not be worthy of leading due to purposely choosing to declare a Soul Bond illegitimate." Flitwick said, interceding before Dumbledore had the chance.
"I see." Fudge said a frown forming on his face. " Well then." He drew his wand and tapped the scrolls.
"Thank you." Dumbledore said and the scrolls vanished, as two rings appeared. "Your marriage has been recorded in the hall of records at the Ministry of Magic." He said as the rings landed neatly in Harry's lap.
Harry stared down at the rings amazed at the intricacy of their design. He took the more feminine ring from his lap and held the delicate silver ring up admiring the diamonds in floral design along the band. He was startled when a rather unexpected proclamation came from Sirius.
"That's Lilly's wedding ring." Sirius exclaimed as he looked at the wedding ring with a pained expression on his face.
"Th-this was my Mother's?"
"Yes." Hermione said, holding out the other band to him gently. "And this was your father's."
"How?" he asked as he returned his gaze to Dumbledore who simply shook his head.
"I am afraid I do not know Harry." Dumbledore said as he too gave the rings a very strange look.
Harry gently turned back to her and softly, slowly put the delicate ring on her finger, leaning in to kiss her forehead as she too silently put the other ring on his. As the rings settled onto their fingers, He felt a strange tingling sensation throughout his body and he was surprised when a light, comanding voice interruped his thoughts.
"Seriously Albus, I would like to sleep!" The voice stated tiredly.
"Who said that?" Hermione and Harry said mentally together as they looked about the room for the source of the voice.
"I beg pardon?" The voice said again. "I could very well ask you the same, you clearly are not an animal."
Harry's eyes landed on Fawkes, Dumbledore's pet phoenix. He had only seen the bird a few times, the most vivid of which had been during his first ever visit to this office. Harry was surprised to see that the bird was also staring directly back at him.
"Fawkes?" Harry asked as he turned back to look at Hermione.
The bird quickly confirmed that it was indeed Him that they were talking to. They filed the information away to check to see if this was something from the Soul Bond later or if this was something else entirely.
