The sun started to rise as Lucas Scott ran down the street leading into the town. A run that was so familiar felt a little different today. He was wearing his old 'Keith Scott Motor Shop' sweatshirt and dribbling his old ball. The past 11 years has put some age in his body, grey in his hair, a little too soon as he says, and smile that his uncle would be proud to see. When he moved back to Tree Hill to help his sister-in-law and best friend with her recently injured husband, his brother, and to help his high school basketball team, he never imagined he'd still be here. He dribbled past the river court, and down the street towards his late mom's old cafe now ran by Haley, his sister-in-law, and her family. Next door to the cafe was the flagship store for his wife's clothing line 'Great Scott.' Brooke Davis, he thought. The girl behind the red door. Brilliant. Beautiful. Brave. The years have been a blessing to Brooke. She has managed to rise above the news of her company's failures, and the rumors that follow the limelight of being a world renown fashion designer. She is also the mother to four beautiful children. Kieran, their oldest, Lily, their only daughter, and finally their twin sons Davis and Keith. Lucas got to his house and started walking up the driveway to a very familiar door. When he proposed to Brooke they decided to get a place to call a home and raise a family. They bought Brooke's childhood home. Over the years this house has seen many changes. From new hardwood floor, to a completely renovated kitchen, Brooke and Lucas have made this once house of no parents and no rules, a house always filled with laughs, cries, dances in the kitchen and breaking out into singing contest. Lucas opened the door and could hear the sounds of the first day of school. He walked by the living room that had 'Millie and Mouth in the Morning' on the tv.
"Gooooooooood morning Tree Hill!" Millie said as Lucas stopped to watch for just a minute.
"Its that time of year." Mouth said. "The first day of school. What a great feeling, am I right parents! We are in for a special treat this year." He said as the camera went to Millie.
"That's right Tree Hill!" Millie said. "We will be at Tree Hill High School all day today."
"Make sure you tune in at three this afternoon for the first ever live Tree Hill basketball tryout!" Mouth said as Lucas then walked into the kitchen. Still sweaty he walks over to his wife and hugs hers from behind.
"What are you making for breakfast this morning?" Lucas asked as he kissed his wife's cheek. Brooke smiled as she turned and faced him. She kissed him and then wiped her lips.
"Oo just a little sweaty, aren't we?" Brooke said as Lucas rolled his eyes and walked around the kitchen island. "I'm making pancakes. Davis asked for them last night. Are you still taking the boys to school on your way in?" She asked as he opened his water bottle and took a sip out.
"Yeah of course." He said. "I can't believe the boys are starting middle school."
"I can't believe Lily is starting high school." Brooke said. "It's seems like just yesterday she was running around the house in a princess dress ordering the boys around." She said as she smiled softly. Over the years Brooke and Lily have created a great relationship. Lily is a spitting imagine of her birth mom Karen with a heart just like her birth father Keith. Standing at five foot and three inches Lily is a very pretty teenager. Her soft skin is always touched by the sun because she spends most of her days at the beach or at her pool in the backyard. Her hazel eyes sparkle when the sun hits them and her long brunette hair hangs down her back and a natural wave to it. Her parents tend to worry as she is very pettily built. People describe her as a kind-heart, well-rounded, charismatic individual. Always willing to help and please people. Although like anyone has some character flaws. Lily wants it to be her way or no way. When it comes to girls her own age always feels the need to compete and be better than them. Sadly sometimes she thinks she is better than others because of the family she comes from. Something that Brooke and Lucas have always tried to teacher their children is that they aren't better than anyone because of the family they have come from.
"That's because that was yesterday." He laughed as they heard footsteps running down the stairs.
"Walk please." Brooke yelled out as the footsteps stop. Lucas smiled as his twin sons walked in. Identical twins, how amazing. Keith and Davis Scott are spitting imagines of their father. Their sandy blonde hair styled with the latest hair trends. Davis styles his hair towards the right and Keith styles his towards the left. They started doing this when their friends weren't able to tell them apart. Davis' dominate side is his right like his mom and Keith takes after his dad being a left dominate. They have soft blue eyes and both stand at five foot four, taller than their older sister, which they bring up most of the time. "Well don't you two look nice." She said.
"Thanks mom!" Davis said as he fixed his shirt. He was wearing khaki shorts and a red polo shirt.
"Thanks." Keith said. He was wearing black nike basketball shorts and a white nike t-shirt with a nike swoosh on it. Both boys grabbed plates and sat down at the kitchen table. It was a nice big round table that was nested into a window seat that Lucas had fixed into a circular bench.
"Do you know if you're siblings are awake?" Lucas asked.
"Oh yeah." Davis laughed as both adults look at him as he put a bite of pancakes into his mouth.
"Lily was listening to music." Keith said.
"And Kieran?" Lucas asked as he was texting Skills about meeting in his office during lunch to discuss tryouts.
"He was on the phone." Davis said as they could hear Kieran's voice coming from down the stairs. He was still on the phone when he walked into the kitchen and not ready for school at all. Lucas left the kitchen to get ready for work.
"No Sam." Kieran said as he rolled his green eyes. "No Sam." He said again as he opened the fridge and grabbed the orange juice. He closed the fridge and grabbed a cup. He looked at his mom as he poured the juice and she was making a plate for him. He sighed and then shook his head, as he did this his light brunette hair shook with it. "I was with Charlie and Parker. Ask them." He said getting angry as he then sat down next to Davis. Lucas walked out of the kitchen to get ready to take the boys. Brooke smiled as she watched her son. She then thought about the moment they received the call about Kieran. Kieran was born Kieran James Jones, son of Clark Jones and Sherri Zellner. Kieran's birth parents were just out of high school when they found out they were pregnant. His birth parents were drug addicts and alcoholics. According to Clark soon after Kieran was born his mother Sherri passed away from a drug overdose. Kieran faced five years with his father until he was arrested for drug charges as well as child endangerment and abuse. He went in and out of foster and group homes for the next year and a half, facing some places much worse than the home Clark provided for him. Kieran was finally sent to the 'Sunny Hill for Children' Group Home located in Tree Hill. Not long after, he met the Scotts, Lucas, his newlywed wife Brooke and their four, almost five year-old, daughter Lily. Kieran grew to love basketball, camping, music and fashion. He grew up feeling proud to be an older brother. He has been growing this summer and is now standing at six foot one. "It's the first day of school." He said into the phone and this anger grew as his girlfriend continued to yell at him. "Well maybe we should break up Samantha." He yelled into the phone and then hung up. He let out a groan and put his phone on the table. "Morning." He said plainly as Brooke walked over and sat down across from him and next to Keith.
"What was that about?" Brooke asked.
"I don't even care mom." Kieran said back as his brothers laughed.
"It must have been something if you broke up with her." Brooke said as she looked at her son. He started to stuff his face as he looked at his mom with a blank stare. "Alright. I'll stop." She said and then turned to her other sons. "Ready for the first day of sixth grade?" She asked as Lily walked in and grabbed the plate Brooke had left on the island for her. She sat down next to her mom and was texting on her phone.
"Do you know what you're wearing today honey?" Brooke asked as Lily looked at her mom with a smile.
"I was thinking that new black skater skirt from Great Scott and a top." Lily said as she looked over at Kieran. He was clearly mad as he continued to stuff his face. Keith and Davis were talking to each other in a language that they made up when they were younger. "What's your problem?" She asked as Kieran looked up from his food.
"I broke up with Sam." Kieran replied as Lucas walked into the kitchen freshly showered.
"You broke up with Sam?" Lucas and Lily said in unison.
"Yeah." Kieran said angrily as he got up from his seat, put his dish in the sink, stormed out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Lily made a face as she turned to her brothers and they started talking. She was giving them all the advice they needed for middle school. Lucas sighed as Brooke got up and walked over to him. She started to get out paper bags for the kids lunches.
"Should I go talk to him?" Lucas asked as Brooke looked at the stairs. There was a slight echo of music coming from Kieran's room. Brooke was just about to answer when their front door open and in came Brooke's two assistants. Penny and Carol. Penny was the kids' favorite as she is the assistant to Carol. Carol, however is not the kids' favorite. Often taking their mom's attention away from them and focuses on her. Carol isn't a fan of the kids either. Not blessed with her own, Carol threw herself into the world of fashion. She was picked up by Brooke's company after Millie had started her tv host career.
"Good Morning!" Penny said as she walked into the kitchen carrying two boxes of samples. Carol was behind her on the phone, as usual.
"Morning." Lucas said as he looked at his boys and then the clock. "Guys go get your bags. Its time get going." He said as the twins ran off the get their backpacks. Lucas turned to his wife and kissed her goodbye. "Let's continue this talk later." He said as Brooke was handed a phone. She nodded and then started to talk on the phone. Lucas waited at the bottom of the stairs for Davis and Keith. He heard footsteps and looked up from his phone to see Kieran coming down the stairs, still not ready for school. He was now shirtless showing off some nicely toned abs, thanks to his Uncle Skills. He was wearing medium wash straight legged jeans from his mom's new line that has yet to be released.
"Dad." Kieran said as Lucas slipped his phone in his back pocket.
"Son." Lucas said. Kieran stopped in front of his dad and reached into his back pocket and pulled out his class schedule.
"I just got around to looking at my schedule and…" Kieran started as Lucas abruptly cut him off.
"You are just now looking at your schedule!" Lucas boomed causing Penny and Carol to peer in from the kitchen; also Keith and Davis stopped at the top of the stairs to watch. "I asked you to do that weeks ago Kieran." He stated.
"I know…but…" Kieran said as he rubbed his neck. He sighed.
"How are you expecting a leadership role on the team this year if you can't listen to me off the court." Lucas boomed again.
"I'm sorry coach." Kieran said plainly. He turned around and walked up the stairs. He then pushed through his brothers and walked into his room.
"Get back down.." Lucas started as Brooke stopped him.
"Good job coach." Brooke said annoyed as she then went back to her phone call. Lucas handed his two younger sons their lunches and followed them out to the car as he was getting in he looked at Davis.
"Did I blow it that bad?" Lucas asked.
"Dad his girlfriend broke up with him this morning." Davis said as Keith laughed. Lucas sighed and then shut his door.
"You didn't even let him ask his question." Keith said as Lucas shook his head.
Kieran now ready for school, wearing a black and white button down shirt that he rolled the sleeves up. He was wearing his new autumn leather tennis shoes also from his mother's collection. Her latest line is based on teen fashion. He walked to his sister's room to find her finishing up her makeup. She was wearing a black skater skirt, a white babydoll top with thin black stripes and a jean jacket over that. She sat down on the chair at her desk and started tying her white high top converse. As she was tying them she flipped her hair and looked at her brother sitting on her bed.
"I heard dad yelling." She said. She has a cheerful voice that's a little on the pitchy side. "What did you say to him?" She asked with a smirk. He laughed a bit and then sighed.
"I wanted to switch out of AP Physics." He said. "I didn't realize they switched me into it... I don't know." He sighed. "I just think I won't be able to be at the level dad wants me to play at if I'm doing so much homework." He said and then rolled his eyes.
"And he said...?" She asked.
"I didn't even get to ask him and mom is on the phone." He said.
"No surprise there." She groaned. Lucas and Brooke always wanted to be very involved parents and while they are great parents, sometimes, they forget their values. Brooke has been very busy with her line while Lucas has been preparing for this upcoming weekend in New York. He is launching his latest book in his series about the 'Girl behind the Red Door.'
"Ready?" He asked as she grabbed her soft pink backpack and her phone. She nodded and followed him out and down the stairs. He grabbed his Raven's basketball dufflebag and black team nike backpack. They went into the kitchen and grabbed their lunches. Brooke turned to her kids with a smile.
"One second." Brooke said into the phone and then put it down. "You two look so good!" She said with a huge smile. "I have to get pictures." She added as she pointed to the very familiar first day of school wall. She took pictures of Kieran and then Lily. After she finished she kissed them both goodbye and they walked out the front door. Kieran's royal blue jeep was sitting out front the house. They both put their bags in trunk and got in. Kieran started heading towards the high school.
"Excited for your first day of high school?" He asked as he looked over at his sister.
"Yes!" Lily squealed. "Spence and I have been counting down the days until high school! Plus there are cheer tryouts and I have to make it."
"You know you're gonna make it right." He said as he pulled into the high school parking lot. He was weaving around students, busses and cars. He could see his group of friends in the normal parking spot by the gym. It wasn't reserved for the basketball team, but the basketball team made sure you knew it was their territory.
"You really think so?" She asked in disbelief.
"For sure dude." Kieran said as he parked. He turned off the car and looked at her. "Jenny's the co-captain." He said as she nodded. They both got out. Kieran was immediately greeted by Parker Sweet and Charlie Andrews. His two best friends. Parker Sweet is a tall brunette sixteen-year-old. He has blue eyes and is always smiling. His parents are hard working people that grew up in Tree Hill. He is seen as the town sweetheart as he is always helping his mom, Angie, in the retirement home or he's down at the pier helping his dad, Ben, with the boat dock. Charlie Andrews is the town's rich kid. His parents, George and Linda, never seem to be around. Charlie has a similar childhood to Brooke. He is often left unsupervised and without consequences, causing him to make more poor decisions than good decisions. Charlie is the same height as his friends and has blonde hair that he typically kept his hair pushed back with just a little gel. Kieran watched as his little sister walked around the group crowding his jeep. Kieran wasn't the only one to notice her passing the basketball team. Parker watched as Lily walked across the drop out zone and then was greeted by a similar in height and in age red headed girl.
"Lils!" Spencer said as she ran up to Lily. Spencer Lynn Walker. Lily's best friend. Spencer is the youngest in her family. Her older sister, Ashley, lives in Charlotte with her boyfriend, and her brother, Peter, just moved back from college and is a teacher at the high school. One of Lily and Spencer's teachers this year. Spencer has long soft red hair that went the length of her back and sparkly blue eyes. She was wearing tight light wash jeans and a black t shirt with a red and white plaid shirt tied around her waist.
"Oh thank god!" Lily said relieved to have her friend.
"Why haven't you been texting me back!" Spencer said as they sat on a bench and waited for Jamie to show up.
"Ummm…" Lily said as she searched her backpack and then her pockets. As she was looking Kieran came walking up.
"Lily you left your phone in my car." Kieran said as he handed his sister her phone.
"Hi Kieran." Spencer said with a soft smile.
"Hi Spencer." Kieran said back and then looked at his sister. "See you in third period!" He said as he ran off to catch up to his friends.
"Kieran's in our Health class?" Spencer asked as they saw Nathan Scott pull up in his black Land Rover.
"Yeah!" Lily said as Jamie got out of the back seat. He quickly shut the door and walked over to Spencer and Lily. He was a spitting image of his father. As Jamie got older his features started to reflect Nathan Scott. His sandy hair turned a darker brown and he finally had a bit of a growths birth now standing at five foot ten inches and growing. He was wearing khaki pants, black vans, and a blue polo.
"Morning!" Jamie said with a smile.
"How was kindergarten drop off?" Lily asked.
"Allie was completely fine, but my parents were a wreck." He laughed as they started walking to the front doors. They passed the spirit rock that was painted blue with a basketball painted on it.
"It is your mom's last baby." Spencer said. "When my mom took me to kindergarten she cried a bunch." Lily quickly looked over at Jamie and he looked back at her. This past summer Spencer's mom took off in the middle of the night and they haven't heard from her since. The group was quiet as they got to the doors together. This was the moment they had talked about for years. The moment that didn't define their lives but for the next four years defined who they would be, before they grew up. Jamie smiled at his two best friends and then noticed Lily looking down. This wasn't easy for Lily. Going to the same school her birth parents went to, the school that her mother fell in love with uncle, her father fell in love with mother and her uncle shot her father. Lucas and Brooke put a lot of thought into Lily attending Tree Hill High. After touring multiple private schools and even a couple boarding schools, they ultimately decided that the worst thing they could do would be to split up Lily from her siblings. Jamie opened the door and Spencer walked in with Lily. Jamie walked in behind them and they started walking to the freshmen hallway. They turned down a hallway and saw groups of people walking from locker to locker. Kieran and his friends were standing in the corner of the hall watching all the students come in. Kieran was waiting for Samantha to get to school. The three friends got to the freshmen hall and found their lockers. Jamie and Lily had lockers next to each other. Spencer's was a couple down from them. Jamie turned to Lily as she opened her locker.
"My parents said that your parents are going out of town this weekend?" Jamie asked as Lily was putting books into her locker.
"Yeah." Lily said as she grabbed her math textbook and put it up. "Dad has a book signing and then my mom is having a pre-launch party that we aren't allowed to go to." She said with a snarky attitude and then rolled her eyes. Jamie laughed as he heard this.
"So that means your house is empty." He stated as Spencer walked up.
"Yeah the house is completely empty." Lily said. "Davis and Keith are staying with your parents Friday night because of the dance."
"Your house is going to be empty the first weekend of high school!" Spencer practically shouted. A couple people looked over. Spencer rudely looked at them. "This is a private conversation." She said and then moved so her back was facing them. They looked the other way. "You have to have a party. It's a right of passage." She said as Lily nodded.
"Would anyone go to a freshmen party though?" Lily asked.
"It's not a freshmen party when that's your brother." Spencer said as she pointed at Kieran. He was running after Samantha Price, yet again.
Kieran was pushing people out of his way as he trailed after Samantha. He continued to call out to the Snow White look-a-like as she is called so often. She has a slender built, rosy cheeks, long black hair, always shinny red lips, and deep chocolate brown eyes. She knew Kieran was following her but continued to ignore it.
"Samantha!" He said loudly. He continued to push through freshmen and running through the halls. He knocked over a student or two and quickly helped them up. He turned down the hall and was now in the junior hall. He ran past an open door to the teacher lounge with several teachers in it. He was almost caught up to Sam when Mrs. Collins walked out of the teacher lounge.
"Kieran Scott." Mrs. Collins said loudly. Her voice boomed through the hallway. The entire hall got silent. If the students of Tree Hill High made a list of the most hated things at the high school Tina Collins would be first, second and third. Samantha turned as Kieran stopped. She smiled at him and then turned back around. Kieran sighed and then turned around and walked back towards Mrs. Collins.
"Yes ma'am." Kieran said as he stood in front of her.
"Where are you going in such a rush?" She asked as he bit his tongue.
"Just catching up with some friends." He said. "First day jitters, I guess."
"Now if you were a freshmen I would understand you not knowing you can't run through the halls, but sadly you aren't a freshman now are you." She stated as many students walked by and some were watching from their lockers.
"No, I am not." He said plainly. The first bell rang and students started going towards their classes. He started to walk away and she stopped him.
"This is a terrible way to start your junior year." She said as she pulled out her detention booklet. The 2 minute warning bell rang and there were very few students left in the hall. "I'll let you off this time." She said as he nodded and quickly started walking away. "But Kieran…" She called out.
"Yes ma'am?" He asked as he was about to turn the corner.
"Do not let me see you running through my halls again." She said as he nodded.
"Yes ma'am." He said as he turned down the next hall and started running to his first class of the day.
The bell rang and students started to fill the hallways. Lily walked out of her biology class with Spencer. They got to their next class which thankfully was third period Health, then it would be time for lunch. They walked towards the senior hall where the class was held.
"When are you going to ask Kieran?" Spencer asked as she smiled at a couple different people.
"I don't know." Lily said as they walked into the class. Lucas was still in the gym cleaning it up, so they were alone in the classroom. They walked to the very back and sat down. Spencer turned to Lily.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Spencer said. "Lily it is expected of high school students to throw a party when their parents go out of town!" She exclaimed as some students walked in.
"Okay, fine. I'll ask him." Lily said as Kieran walked in with Jenny and Charlie. They walked over to where Lily and Spencer were sitting. Kieran sat down in front of Lily and then turned around.
"How's your first day?" Kieran asked as he looked at his sister.
"Good." Lily said as Spencer made a face at Lily.
"Ask." Spencer said abruptly. Kieran looked at Spencer and then at Lily. Lily looked at Spencer with a look of shut up.
"Ask me what?" Kieran asked.
"Well mom and dad are going to be out of town this weekend and…" Lily started to say as Charlie cut her off.
"Oh hell yeah!" Charlie said with a huge grin on his face. "I knew Lily was my favorite Scott." He said as Kieran rolled his eyes. Charlie noticed and threw his hands in the air. "What!" He said as Kieran laughed.
"Yeah we're having a party." Kieran said with a smile. Jenny who had been listening the whole time decided to chime in.
"How do you plan to do that?" Jenny asked. "My parents are in town and will see all the people walking in and out of your house." She said as she rolled her eyes. She couldn't believe how dumb her friends were being. Jenny Jagielski, the daughter of Jake Jagielski and Nicole Quarts. After a long custody battle, Jake finally got to return home with his daughter Jenny. Much like her mother, Jenny has dark brown hair and hazel eyes. As her father would say, she is lucky to have the height she has, making her one of the best back spots for cheer. Shortly after her return to Tree Hill, her father, Jake finally got a little wish granted when Peyton Sawyer started dated him. They married shortly after and have another daughter, Sawyer, who is the same age as Davis, Keith, and Lydia Scott.
"The beach house." Lily said quickly.
"And that's why she's my favorite." Charlie said as Lucas walked into the class.
"So sorry I'm late." Lucas said as the late bell rang when he walked into the class. He set his backpack down in his chair and then walked around his desk. He gently sat against his desk. "Welcome, I'm Coach Scott." He said in a very friendly voice. "Now." He said as he stood up and started walking around the class. "I know some of you know who I am and some of you it's your very first day of high school and have no clue who I am. So I have a fun activity planned so we can all get to know each other." He said as he got back to the front of the class. "We're going to go around the classroom and introduce yourself to the class." He said as the class groaned. "I know, I know. I'm lame." He joked. "Let's start with….Charlie Andrews." He said as Charlie nodded and then stood up.
"I'm Charlie." Charlie said and then looked at Lucas. Lucas moved his hands in a circular motion. "Uhh..I'm a junior, I'm on the basketball team." He said as he high fived Kieran. "And uh that's it." He said and then sat down.
"Thank you Charlie…" Lucas said and shook his head. He continued to go down the list alphabetically. "Jenny Jagielski." He said as Jenny stood up.
"Hi I'm Jenny!" Jenny said happily. "I'm a junior, co-captian of the cheer team. I'm in the student council, on the dance committee and don't forget that on Friday night we have the back to school dance, oh and cheer try-outs are in the auditorium after school!" She said and then sat back down.
"Thank you and next we have Cassidy Moore." Lucas said as Cassidy stood up. She introduced herself and then finally Lucas got to Kieran. "Next, Kieran Scott." He said. Kieran stood up cleared his throat.
"I'm Kieran." Kieran said. "I'm on the basketball team, I'm a junior, and Samantha I'm sorry." He said as he turned to Samantha who was now beet red. She smiled and then Kieran sat down.
"Alright…" Lucas said and the turned to Lily. "Lily Scott your turn." He said and then Lily stood up.
"I'm Lily Scott, I'm a freshman, I like dance and cheer." Lily said and then sat down. Such an awkward feeling. Standing in front of a class you don't know with your father as the teacher.
"Thank you Lily." He said and then continued down the list. He then got to Spencer. "Spencer Walker your turn." He said. Spencer quickly shot up out of her chair.
"Hey I'm Spencer. My friends call me Spence." Spencer said. "I'm a freshman, I love cheer. And…" She thought and then smiled. "If you have a crush on that new History teacher Mr. Walker, don't. I can show you so many embarrassing pictures of him growing up. He's the worst." She said and then sat down. Lily was already laughing by the time she sat down.
"And finally we have Travis Zellner." Lucas said as a student in the front row stood up. He was rather tall, well built, redish-brown hair and green eyes, and he uncomfortably looked a little too much like Kieran.
"I'm Travis Zellner, like he said." Travis said. "My parents decided to move here after my mom took a job at the college. Um… I really like basketball. I was the starting point guard for my team back home. Oh and I'm a sophomore." He said and then sat back down.
"Thank you Travis." Lucas said as he directed the class back to the front. "A little about me, like I said I'm Coach Scott. I am the men's head basketball coach. I was born and raised here in Tree Hill. I graduated back in 2005 from this very school. I am a husband and a father of four. My oldest is a junior here, and my daughter just started her freshmen year. I have twin boys that just started their first day of middle school. An interesting fact about me is I am a writer like many of you know." He said as he continued to talk until the bell rang. The students gather their things and left his classroom. Lily and Spencer went to their lockers to get their lunches. After they got their lunches, they walked out to the courtyard where many students eat their lunches. Once they got out there they quickly linked up with Jamie.
"How was Health with your dad?" Jamie asked as they sat down at a picnic table.
"He wanted everyone to get to know each other." Lily laughed a bit. "It was interesting."
"Especially that new kid Travis." Spencer said as they watched him walk out with a brown paper bag in his hand and no where to sit. "He looks so much like Kieran." She said with a soft smile.
"You think everyone looks like Kieran." Lily laughed.
"The heart wants what the heart wants." Spencer said as Lily and Jamie both laughed.
"Yeah but the heart can't have my brother. That would be so weird." Lily said.
"Plus he has one of the worst track record with girls." Jamie added.
"Yeah... but he's so dreamy." Spencer said as she starred at Kieran talking and eating with his friends. Lily noticed this and waved her hands in front of Spencer's face.
"He's off limits." Lily said as Spencer shook her head and then smiled.
"Fine." Spencer said as Travis walked into the courtyard. Not knowing anyone he sat on a bench by himself.
"Who is he?" Jamie asked as they watched him sit alone.
"That's the new kid, Travis." Spencer said as she got up and walked over to him. It only took bout thirty seconds of convincing and she was walking back with him. He sat down next to Jamie which was across from Spencer.
"Hey." Travis said as he opened his lunch.
"Hi I'm Lily." Lily said with a smile. Travis nodded back to her.
"I'm Jamie Scott." Jamie said as he put his hand out.
"Nice to meet you." Travis said with a smile. "Are you two siblings?" He asked as he looked at Jamie and Lily.
"No, were cousins." Jamie replied.
"What about that guy in health class. Is he related to you?" Travis asked.
"He's my brother." Lily said with a smile. "And before you ask Coach Scott is my dad." She said as Travis nodded. He then made a weird face and looked back up at Lily.
"So when he was talking about his kids, you two were just sitting there like 'yup that's me.'" Travis said with a laugh.
"Yeah. That was weird he didn't use our names." Lily said as her phone and was texting Kieran.
"Soooo..." Spencer said as she looked at Travis while she ate. "You're a sophomore. Do you have a car?" She asked as Lily rolled her eyes and Jamie laughed.
"Spencer can be a little invasive sometimes." Lily laughed as Jamie nodded.
"Nosey is what I call her." Jamie said as Travis laughed.
"I'm actually fifteen, I should be a freshman but I skipped sixth grade." Travis said.
"That's cool." Spencer sighed.
"Is that your mom?" Travis asked as Lily and Spencer turned around to see Brooke walking towards the entrance Lucas was standing at.
"Uh...yeah..." Lily said as she watched her parents kiss.
"I thought they were fighting." Spencer blurted out. Lily looked at her.
"Your parents are fighting?" Jamie asked and Lily didn't answer the question.
