The bell rang through the high school and students started making their way toward the cafeteria. It was lunchtime. Many clubs meet during Fridays on lunch one of those being the debate team. Spencer and Lily walked out of their classroom. They were both wearing black skinny jeans with rips on the knees. Lily was wearing a white crop top that was just long enough for the school dress code. She also had white Air Forces on. Spencer had a dark green tight long sleeve top and white vans on. They walked toward the Debate classroom. Spencer stopped at the door and was still talking as Kieran walked up. He had on a black sweatshirt and jeans with blue Nikes. He was having a rough day from a headache he had all morning. He walked through the girls without saying a word. Spencer and Lily watched this and then looked at each other.

"What's wrong with him?" Spencer asked as Lily shrugged.

"Could be anything." Lily laughed as Tanner walked up. Tanner smiled as he interrupted them.

"Ready?" Tanner asked.

"Yeah." Lily said as they walked away holding hands. Spencer watched them and then walked into the classroom. She didn't know anyone but Kieran in the classroom so she sat down at a table by herself. Kieran was sitting at a table with a couple of his debate friends and looked at Spencer over his shoulder. He never really saw Spencer without Lily so he imagined how awkward she must feel not knowing anyone. He grabbed his backpack and got up. He walked over to the table she was sitting at and sat down. Spencer looked up from her lunch and smiled at Kieran.

"You know if you want to make friends you have to sit down at a table with people at it, right?" Kieran joked as he ate his lunch.

"Thanks for the advice." Spencer said. "But I'm the only freshman here. So it's really awkward." She sighed.

"Yeah we don't normally get freshmen that have the grades to get in. I think you had a teacher from the middle school recommend you for an early start?" He asked. "You're on the school Decathlon team too right?"

"Yeah I've had straight As since third grade." She said.

"I didn't know you were smart." He said as she looked at him with a rude expression. "I just meant I didn't know you care about school grades. I thought it was cheerleading, dance, and boys."

"My dad is a surgeon, it comes from him. Plus if I wasn't a straight A student I would be the oddball out of my family. My brother and sister were both valedictorians." She said. "There's a lot of pressure to be good at school." She said as he nodded.

"Hmm, I always just saw you as Lily's best friend, not really a student." He said as she nodded.

"You're like really bad at talking to girls…" She said as he laughed. "Do you insult everyone you talk too?" She asked as he rolled his eyes. Just before he was about to respond but the debate teacher started talking to the group. As they discussed their debate schedule Kieran kept his head down looking mainly at his shoes. The meeting ended and the students gathered their things and headed into the hall. They only had a couple of minutes before the bell rang. Kieran was walking towards the locker room when Spencer stopped him."Are you okay?" She asked.

"I don't feel the greatest." Kieran said.

"Oh okay." Spencer said as she walked away from him. Kieran sighed and then walked into the basketball locker room. He knew his dad was always in his office on Fridays. He walked up to the cracked door and knocked. Lucas looked up from his desk and saw his son standing there.

"What's up Key?" Lucas said as Kieran opened the door and walked in. Kieran looked sickly green. "Are you feeling okay?" He asked as Kieran shook his head.

"Not really…" Kieran said as he sat down in the chair. He quickly got back up and turned to walk out of the office to the toilet but didn't make it in time. He threw up all over the floor of his dad's office. Lucas quickly shot up and moved Kieran away from his throw-up. "I'm sorry dad." He said.

"It's okay. Go clean yourself up. I got this." Lucas said as he walked to the cabinet in his office that was filled with cleaning products. Kieran walked to the restroom in the locker room and started to clean his face. He was done but his stomach wasn't. He quickly turned around and fumbled to the toilet. He threw up twice and then sat by the toilet. He spit into the toilet, got up, and flushed it. He walked back to the sink and wiped his mouth again. He then washed his hands and walked back to his dad's office. Lucas had just finished cleaning up the throw-up. He watched his song sit down in his desk chair. "Did you throw up again?" He asked.

"Yeah…" Kieran said as he put his head on the desk.

"Make it into the toilet?" Lucas asked.

"Yes.." Kieran said.

"Want to go home?" Lucas asked as Kieran nodded.

"Can you take me?" Kieran asked.

"I can't just leave school bud." Lucas said.

"Oh okay.." Kieran said as Lucas looked at his son.

"Do you feel too sick to drive?" Lucas asked as he walked over to his son. He felt his head. "You're burning up. How long have you not felt good?" He asked.

"Since I got to school." Kieran said. "I just thought with how I've been in trouble lately you guys would have thought I was just wanting to stay home." He sighed as Lucas shook his head.

"Bud you shoulda just told me." Lucas said as Kieran nodded. "Let me call mom and see if she can come get you." He said as he reached for his phone. He clicked on Brooke's number and waited for her to pick up. He patted his son's back and motioned that he'd be outside his office door. "Hey pretty girl! How's your day?" He said into the phone.

"It's been great! Sales are up today, and I just got off the phone with some designers. Peyton is about to walk over to the store and we are going to head back to our houses. We rode to work together this morning." She said. "What about your day?" She asked.

"It was going good, until Kieran stopped by." He said.

"What now." She stated with a sigh.

"He's not feeling the greatest." He said. "He's burning up and threw-up in my office." He sighed.

"Aw my poor baby. Is he going to be coming home?" She asked.

"That's why I'm calling. He said he was too sick to drive home." He said. "You think that you and Peyton can swing by the school and pick him up?" He asked.

"Yes of course! Let him know I will be there as soon as I can." She said.

"Okay I am about to walk him to the nurse's office." He said. "Love you." He said and then hung up. He walked back into his office. "Ready to walk over to the nurse?" He asked as he looked at his son. In the five minute conversation he had with his wife, Kieran had fallen asleep. Lucas gently woke Kieran up and grabbed his backpack. "Mom is going to come pick you up." He said as Kieran nodded. They walked towards the nurse's office. Kieran sat down in a chair while Lucas talked to the nurse. Lucas thanked the nurse.

"Thanks dad." Kieran said.

"Sure thing bud. Tell your mom to call me when you get home." Lucas said as Kieran nodded. The nurse walked over to Kieran and handed him water and crackers.

"Thanks." Kieran said as he let his head hang down. It wasn't long until there was a call on the nurse's phone letting her know that Kieran's mom was there. Kieran stood up and walked towards the office. Brooke was standing in the office waiting. She saw him and smiled. She greeted him with a hug and they walked out of the school.

"Do you have your keys?" Brooke asked as he nodded. He pulled them out of his pocket and handed them to her. "Great Peyton is going to be driving your Jeep home." She said as he nodded. He walked to Brooke's car which was parked up front. He looked over his shoulder at his mom and ended up throwing up on the side of her car.

"I'm sorry…" Keiran barely said as he spit.

"It's alright, I can wash it off." Brooke said as she patted his back. She then handed the keys to Peyton and Kieran pointed out to where his jeep was parked. He got into the car and waited for his mom to get in. Brooke got in and started to drive home. She was talking to Kieran but he was barely replying. "I want you to take a shower when we get home, and then straight to bed. I'll make you some soup or something." She said.

"Can I watch a movie in my room?" He asked as they turned down their street.

"No honey I want you to get some sleep after you shower." She said and he sighed. She looked over at the teenager. He had his arms crossed and his head against the window. "Alright you can watch a movie to fall asleep too." She said as he slightly smiled. She pulled into the driveway and parked. They both got out and then walked inside. Kieran immediately walked up the stairs to his room. Brooke let Teddy into the backyard and then started pulling out the ingredients out of the kitchen. Peyton walked in the house with Kieran's keys.

"Here ya go!" Peyton said as she twirled them around her finger. She then set them down on the counter.

"Thank you!" Brooke said.

"Did he throw up again?" Peyton said.

"No, but he looked like he was going to throw up the whole way home." Brooke said.

"So he definitely can't babysit tonight…" Peyton said as she pulled her phone out.

"Oh crap, I didn't even think about that." Brooke said. "And I told Lily she could have a sleepover here tonight.." She sighed and pulled out her phone. She texted Lily that she couldn't have a sleepover. Lily texted back immediately.

'Mom thats not fair.' Lily texted.

'Kieran is sick.' Brooke texted.

'Whatever.' Lily texted. She then texted again. 'Can I sleep over at Spencers?'

'That's fine. Love you.' Brooke said. She then set her phone down. She sighed as Peyton looked up from her phone.

"Jenny said she can cover for Kieran, and even check in on him." Peyton said with a smile.

"Oh that's awesome!" Brooke said. "That works. I don't think either boy will be home. They are both spending the night with different friends. It should just be Allison, Quinn's daughter Whitney, Mouth's kids Mckenzie and Marcus, and I think that's it, but I could be wrong." She said.

"Jenny is excited and she'll be next door if Keiran needs anything." Peyton said. "Do you have any idea the big exciting news he wants to share tonight?" She asked.

"No he's been keeping this secret for a while. Haley seems not thrilled about it. I was on the phone with her last night." Brooke said as Peyton shook her head.

"With it being Nathan, anything is possible." Peyton said as she turned around in her chair to face the stairs. Kieran was walking down the stairs. He was freshly showered and his hair was still wet. He had a pair of joggers and a sweatshirt on.

"What are you doing out of bed?" Brooke asked.

"I just came down to fill my water bottle up." Keiran said, holding his water bottle. He walked past his mom and filled his water bottle up. He then walked back to the stairs.

"Mom." Keiran called out.

"Yes?" Brooke responded.

"Dad said for you to call him when we got home." He said.

"Okay, thanks." Brooke said. Peyton smiled as Brooke picked up her phone.

"See you later." Peyton called out as she walked to the front door. "Get better Key."

"Bed." Brooke said as she pointed up the stairs. He nodded and walked up the stairs. She smiled and then grabbed her phone. She clicked on Lucas' name and waited for him to pick up.

"Hey pretty girl!" Lucas said into the phone. "Did you make it home safe?" He asked.

"Yes we did. Peyton drove Keiran's car home." She said as she walked to their bedroom, and laid down on the bed.

"Did Keiran get sick again?" He asked.

"Yeah actually he did, all over the side of my car." She said and heard him laugh through the phone. "He's upstairs watching a movie and should be asleep shortly."

"Okay good." He said and then cleared his throat. "Did you tell Lily it was okay for her to sleep over at Spencer's house tonight?" He asked.

"Yes since they were going to sleep over here, but I don't want them here with Keiran so sick." Brooke said. "Why?" She asked.

"She asked me to drop them off after school and I just wanted to make sure she had your permission." He said and she laughed. "Anyways I have a class right now and wanted to ask you something. Since all the kids are somewhere tonight, before we go to TRIC with Nathan to celebrate whatever he wants, I was hoping you would like to go out to dinner, just us." He said.

"Oh like a date?" She giggled.

"Yes, like a date." He laughed as he looked back into his classroom. His students were watching a movie.

"Well that depends." She said with a smirk as she sat down on their bed.

"On what?" He asked.

"Where are we going?" She asked and he laughed.

"I was thinking of Dale's, the steak house that just opened up. How does that sound?" He said.

"Lucas, that place is pretty pricey…" She said.

"Okay…and? I'm a best-selling author and you are a world-renowned fashion designer. I think we can afford it." He said. "Besides, when was the last time we went to a fancy dinner just the two of us?" He asked.

"Okay okay okay." She said.

"Perfect, love you!" He said. "Well, I need to get back to my class." He said.

"Have a good day, love you." She said and hung up the phone. She set her phone down and then walked up the stairs. She walked to Keiran's room and pushed it open. He was sleeping on his side with the TV on. She turned his tv off and then grabbed his blanket and put it on him. She smiled and then quietly walked out of his room. She shut his door and then walked to Lily's room to grab the laundry. She was walking through her daughter's room shaking her head at the number of clothes on the ground. She walked into her closet and started picking up the clothes off the ground. One of Karen's letters fell out of Lily's jacket. Brooke set down the laundry basket and picked up the letter. She noticed the handwriting wasn't Lily's but couldn't really make it out. She recognized it but not enough to know whose it is. She turned it over and noticed it hadn't been opened. She sighed and then picked up the laundry basket. She set the letter on Lily's bed and then walked out of the room. She walked downstairs to the laundry room to start Lily's clothes. She kept thinking about the letter and whose handwriting it could be.

Lucas walked in the back door to a very quiet house. He set his backpack down on the kitchen counter and started walking toward his bedroom. As he got closer he could hear the shower running. He walked into their room and faintly heard Brooke singing in the shower. He walked into the bathroom while he undressed. He then opened the shower door and Brooke turned to face him.

"Oh, you're home early." Brooke smirked. He smiled as he then pressed her against the shower wall while he kissed her. "Lucas!" She said as he smirked. He continued to kiss her as she quietly moaned. The water was rushing down both their bodies as he continued to caress her body. He made his way back up her body and he stood up towering over her. He ran his fingers through her wet hair and bunched up some in his hand as he held her face up to him.

"Want to take this to the bed?" He asked.

"We are soaking wet.." She said as she took a deep breath.

"I'll do the laundry." He said as she moaned.

"Take me to bed Lucas Scott." She said as he grinned and turned off the shower. They got out of the shower and he pulled her close to him. He then pushed her up against the wall and continued to rub her body. She wrapped her legs around him as he picked her up. He then walked her to the bed and threw her onto it. He climbed on top of her and started to kiss her all over. As she moaned he continued to thrust into her. "Harder." She said as she let out a moan. He started to thrust harder as he continued to kiss her. She had her hands tightly gripping his back with her nails digging into it. He felt her tense up as she moaned louder. He smiled as he finished. He laid down next to her and she cuddled up to him.

"How was work for you today?" He asked. "Finish any sketches?" He added as he rubbed her back.

"I finished some, destroyed others." She sighed. "I think I might have to be in New York on Monday for a couple of days…" She added.

"Oh really?" He asked. "Until when?"

"Wednesday." She said.

"Well, I'm going to miss you." He said with a smile. "I'm sorry.."

"For what?" She asked.

"If I didn't keep my job at the high school we could have moved to New York." He said.

"Lucas, you have to stop doing that. You love that job. You love your classes, your players, the fact you get to watch the kids grow up. This is the life you wanted." She said.

"But is it the life you wanted?" He asked.

"Of course it is." She said as she slapped his chest. "We made this decision together. This is the place where Keith and Karen would have raised Lily. We owe it to them to raise her here." She said as she got up from the bed. "I am going to jump back in the shower and then get ready for dinner. Make sure to throw the sheets in the washing machine." She said with a wink. He laughed and then got up to strip the bed. He threw the blankets at the door and then walked to the dresser to grab a pair of basketball shorts. He put them on and then picked up the sheets. He walked out of the room and to the laundry room. He put their sheets in the washing machine and started it. He then walked to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. He closed the fridge and started walking back to his room when he heard the bathroom door upstairs slam shut. He sighed and then walked up the stairs. He could hear Keiran throwing up. He heard the toilet flush and then knocked on the door.

"Are you okay?" Lucas asked as he heard more throwing up. He opened the door to find his son with his head in the toilet. Lucas stood over Keiran and rubbed his back as he continued. "Did mom call a doctor or anything?" He asked as Kerian spit into the toilet.

"Yes." Keiran said and then sat back.

"Are you going to be okay if we go out?" Lucas asked as Keiran stood up.

"It's just a little flu…" Keiran said as Lucas nodded.

"Do you need us to make you anything before we leave?" Lucas asked.

"Dad." Kieran said, looking at the sink. Lucas moved out of the bathroom and leaned against the doorframe.

"I don't mean to bother you bud…" Lucas said as Kieran was brushing his teeth and looking at his dad through the mirror. "Mom and I will be leaving in about an hour and a half. I can bring up some soup, maybe go run and get you some stuff?" He added. Keiran spit and washed his mouth out.

"Can I have my Xbox controller?" Kieran asked as Lucas smiled.

"Yeah I think that's something I can get you." Lucas said. "I'll bring some soup up too." He said as Kieran smiled. Lucas nodded and walked back downstairs. He walked into his room and could hear Brooke blow drying her hair. He walked into the bathroom and she smiled at him. She was wearing a black lace bra and a matching thong. "You know Key's pretty sick." He said.

"Is he still getting sick?" She asked.

"Yeah." He said.

"Did you give him anything?" She asked.

"No." He said and then turned the shower on. He got in the shower and started washing his body.

"Should we be going out?" She asked.

"He said he would be fine. I did say he could have his Xbox stuff back." He added as he washed his hair.

"I told him no earlier." She said.

"Brooke he's sick. He's going to be home alone, and honestly, I don't even think he will play it. He looked like he was going back to sleep." He said and got out of the shower. He grabbed his towel and shook it over his hair. He then wrapped the towel around his waist. He walked up to his side of the vanity and started to clean up his beard.

"Maybe we will just stay for one drink with Nathan." She said as he nodded. "Have you talked to him at all?" She asked.

"For maybe five minutes a couple of days ago." He said.

"Are you ever going to forgive him?" She asked.

"It's not about forgiving him. I did that." He sighed. "I just can't believe he would cross the line the way he did. But I am going to let it go and set an example for the kids." He said. "One day our kids are going to be adults. Keith might do something to piss off Davis. Lily might not like one of the boy's girlfriends and do something stupid. Whatever happens, I hope that our kids can work through their differences and stay as close as they are now, maybe even closer. The only way to do that is to lead by example. The kids all look up to Nathan, and they know that we have been really upset with him. Keith told me last night that he was excited to hear all about our night with Nathan. So I am going to put a smile on my face and try to enjoy the night." He said. "Now, Pretty Girl. What do I wear?" He asked as she smiled. She put her curler down and walked into their closet. She pulled out a pair of black jeans and a collared button-down short sleeve shirt with black and gold stripes going down it. She walked back in and brought out white leather shoes.

"Here ya go!" She said and he kissed her. He walked back out to their bedroom and started getting dressed. "Did you get your schedule finalized?" She called out.

"Uhhh I think we are waiting for two or three more dates to be finalized. As of right now, the Ravens are away for a good chunk in the beginning but that means the second season has a lot of home games." He said.

"And how is the team looking?" She asked.

"Pretty good. It should be really interesting with Jamie in the mix this year. He's played with Kieran and his friends for years so the chemistry is great." He said as he walked into their closet to grab a belt. "I'm not looking forward to the parent meeting Monday though. I had to make some hard decisions with some players. Jamie is a freshman and beat out a junior or two for the spot. The whole..uhh.." He said as he started looping the belt in the mirror in their room. "The whole family thing. I dealt with it when Kieran made the team. It wasn't too bad but it was definitely not the best. Kieran also had a great season his freshman year averaging 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 12 assists a game." He added and walked over to his watch box. Brooke laughed to herself about how easily Lucas was able to spit out Kieran's stats. "But I'm looking forward to it. I enjoy getting to meet the parents." He said.

"Did you say Monday?" She asked.

"Yeah, Monday night. At 6:30." He said.

"Players go too?" She asked.

"Yeah? It's mandatory to play." He questioned.

"Charlie's parents back in town?" She asked.

"I hope so…I really can't fill out the papers for him again this year." He said as she walked out of the bathroom.

"You mean to tell me that Charlie was our responsibility last season, and you didn't even bother to tell me?" She asked.

"You went to every game last year. Home and Away. Did you see Charlie's parents at any game?" He asked.

"No, I guess I didn't." She sighed. "Why can't you this year?" She asked.

"I just can't." He shrugged. "I told Kieran that I would bring soup up to him before we left. What should I give him?" He asked.

"Give him Nyquil and let him know that there is vaporub in the upstairs bathroom." She said. "Oh and bring him some Gatorade from the outside fridge and I think he might have put one in the freezer but forgot about it. Bring that to him too." She smiled.

"Will you be dressed by the time I do all of that?" He asked as she laughed and walked back into the bathroom. "Brooke?" He called out. He then rolled his eyes and grabbed Kieran's controller from his nightstand. He walked to the kitchen and started making a tray to bring up to Kieran. As he was heating up the soup an extremely groggy Kieran walked down the stairs groaning. Lucas smiled to himself as he watched his son walk into the kitchen. "Feeling better or worse?" He asked.

"Dad can you not lecture me right now. I'm sick." Kieran said groggily as he sat down at the kitchen island.

"Oh yeah of course son." Lucas played along and then put some medicine in front of him. "Are you sure you are going to be good home alone?" He asked as the teen nodded. "Alright well take those, and mom wanted you to know that there is vaborub upstairs in the bathroom." He said as the teen nodded again.

"Can I get some soup?" Kieran asked as Lucas nodded and poured the bowl.

"You can take it upstairs if you want." Lucas offered as Kieran nodded.

"What time will you be home?" Kieran asked.

"Oh probably a little after midnight. Your uncle Nathan had to buy a table at Tric." Lucas laughed. He watched Kieran eat his soup and then looked at his watch. "Brooke our reservation is in15 minutes." He called out. He looked back at his son and smiled. "Do you know if Charlie's parents are back?" He asked and Kieran shrugged.

"Okay, I'm ready!" Brooke said as she walked into the kitchen. She was wearing a black one-shoulder dress with a long sleeve. The dress was hugging her body perfectly. She had a pair of black heels and a little black clutch. She smiled at her husband and walked up to Kieran. She placed her hand on his forehead. "You are still just a bit feverish. Call one of us if you start feeling really bad, okay?" She said as he nodded.

"You look pretty mom." Kieran said as Brooke smiled.

"Thank you honey!" She said and then gave him a small hug.

"Why don't you head on to bed." Lucas said as Kieran nodded. Kieran got up and grabbed his controller then walked to the stairs. "Wait." He said and then handed Kieran the gatorades and watched his son go up the stairs. They heard the door close and then looked at each other. "You look gorgeous." He said as he smirked and walked towards her. He placed his hands on her hips.

"Lucas I thought our reservation was in a couple of minutes." She giggled as he bit his lip.

"Alright fine." He sighed and then kissed her. He grabbed her hand and walked out to his car. They got in the car and started heading towards the restaurant. Lucas' phone started to ring and being in an old car that doesn't have Bluetooth, Brooke picked it up.

"Hello." She said into the phone.

"Hey, Mrs. Scott it's Tony!" Tony said.

"Oh hey, Tony! I completely blanked and didn't call you. Kieran is so super sick today and he won't be at the site today." She said.

"Oh, he's sick…I was afraid of that." Tony said as he let out a deep breath. "Kieran stopped by the shop this morning to help me and the guys pull out a stove from a different job. He was curious about how to do it so I told him to come by. Most of my guys went home super sick. Throwing up, dizziness. I even had one guy pass out." He said.

"I didn't know that he stopped by the shop." She sighed.

"Most of my men went to the doctor's and it looks like just smoke inhalation. Kieran should be fine in a day or two. He wasn't up and close to the stove when we uninstalled it since he isn't trained but he was in the room with us watching. I wasn't thinking and didn't bring a mask. I am so sorry that I got him sick." Tony said as Lucas was looking at his wife while they were parked in the lot of the restaurant.

"Do we need to take him to the doctor?" She asked as Lucas was still waiting for her to update him.

"No he should be fine. My guys had to go to get cleared to come back to work. The doctor said it wasn't too bad for the guys that were up close. I was in the room next to Kieran and only felt sick for a couple of hours." Tony said.

"Okay, well thank you for letting me know." She sighed. "Have a great night."

"You too ma'am!" Tony said.

"Actually I don't think I am going to have Kieran working anymore on the site. Not to do with you, I just think we were a little too hard on him." She said.

"Okay, but he is always welcome to come! As much as it was a punishment, he really enjoyed it. I think he took something home with him every day." Tony laughed.

"That's good to hear!" She said. "He just starts weight training and practices for the new season starting next week, and I don't want to stress him out more than he already is." She said.

"Can't wait for the season! He's been talking about it pretty much the whole time he has been helping." Tony laughed. "Well, I don't want to keep you from your night. Have a great night. Bye." He said.

"See you at some games! Have a great night, bye!" She said and hung up.

"What's going on?" Lucas asked as they got out of the car.

"Kieran has smoke poisoning…" She sighed.

"Holy shit! How? Why? We need to go home." He said walking back to the car.

"He's going to be fine." She said as he shut the door to the car. He walked over to his wife. They started to talk as they walked inside the restaurant.

Kieran woke up to his phone ringing. He rubbed his eyes and looked for his phone. He grabbed it off the nightstand and answered. "Hello?" He groaned into the phone.

"Hi Kieran. It's Keith…sorry." Keith said into the phone. Kieran looked at the clock on his desk and it was 11 pm.

"What's up?" Kieran asked, as he sat up on his bed and leaned against the wall that it was pushed against.

"Can you come get me?" Keith asked as he heard Kieran groan. "I know you're sick but…" He said but Kieran cut him off.

"I'm coming. Where are you?" Kieran asked as he jumped out of bed.

"Uhh…near the abandoned part of the beach." Keith said as Kieran sighed.

"Okay. I'm on my way." Kieran said as he started his car. "Are you alone?" He asked.

"Can you hurry?" Keith said as Kieran was already speeding down the road.

"I am about 5 minutes away." Kieran said. "Are you alone?" He asked again.

"Not exactly.…" Keith said as Kieran sighed.

"What does that even mean?" Kieran said as he passed the pier and turned down the street that led to the old docks.

"Well the other guys left me." Keith replied.

"What? Why?" Kieran replied. "I am parked at the old lifeguard shack. Do you see me?" He asked as Keith looked around.

"Can you come find me?" Keith said almost shaking. Kieran paused for a second and then got out of his car.

"Yeah just stay on the phone." Kieran said as he grabbed his flashlight from the trunk. He walked down to the water. He started walking the beach. "Do you see me yet?" He asked.

"With the flashlight…yeah." Keith said as he walked up to him. Kieran hung up his phone and put it in his pockets. "Thank you." He said as Kieran greeted him with a hug.

"It's fine." Kieran said as he pointed towards his jeep with the flash light. He kept and arm around Keith as they walked. "So you gonna tell me how you ended up at the beach this late at night." He asked.

"Uhh.." Keith said as Kieran laughed.

"So I'm guessing the house you spent the night at is older than you?" Kieran said as Keith nodded. "I've done that…but what happened?" He asked as they got to his both got in. "Hungry?" He asked.

"Starving." Keith said.

"Okay cool. Taco bell?" Kieran offered as Keith smiled. "Cool cool. So what happened?" He asked as they drove off.

"Uh…" Keith sighed. "I just wanted to be cool. Like you." He said and Kieran nodded.

"And what did you have to do to be cool?" Kieran asked.

"Sneaking out." Keith said as Kieran had a sigh of relief. "But they wanted to spray paint the Rivercourt, and I just couldn't." He said.

"Smart." Kieran said as he was waiting in the drive through. "Dad's out with his high school friends, you know they always end up there." He laughed.

"I think dad goes once a day." Keith laughed and Kieran nodded.

"If you have to do things that you are uncomfortable with, maybe find some new friends." Kieran said. "You don't have to be cool to have friends. Once you find the right friend group you are cool." He said.

"But you're cool…" Keith said as Kieran laughed and handed him the bag of food. He then opened his straw and put it in his drink. "What? You play sports, you have a girlfriend, a car, no curfew…"

"And those make me cool?" Kieran asked.

"Yeah!" Keith said with a smile. "You're the coolest person I know. I just want to be like you." He said as Kieran nodded. He continued driving home and passed TRIC where he still saw his dad's mustang parked.

Lucas was sitting on the top of the couch with his feet hanging down the backrest. He had a bottle of beer in his hand with Nathan on one side of him and Jake on the other side. Next to Nathan was Clay. Mouth and Skills were both on the dance floor with the women.

"So Nathan, you gonna make us wait all night for this big news?" Clay yawned. "Some of you don't have babies at home. Quinn and I barely get any sleep now." He said as the rest of them laughed.

"Soon soon.." Nathan said with a grin.

"It will be soon right?" Lucas asked his brother as the guys continued to drink. "I want to check on Key..ya know." He said as Nathan nodded.

"As soon as it hits midnight." Nathan said."Soooo any minute now." He said as Lucas shook his head with a smile. He looked down at his watch and then pulled out his phone. As he did this the rest of their group joined them at the table.

"Alright man, what's the news!" Skills said as Nathan smiled.

"As you all know I've been a little lost with what I've been wanting to do." Nathan said. "After a lot of thought and soul searching, and talking with my amazing wife; I've decided to run for mayor of Tree Hill!" He said with a huge smile and then showed the candidate page that was updated a few moments ago. Lucas and Brooke both looked at each other a little surprised. They were thinking maybe a job change, a new baby, or something along those lines, but running for mayor never would have crossed their minds.

"We'd appreciate all the support you can give us during this time." Haley said with a soft smile.

"Of course!" Clay said as the rest of Nathan's friends and family were a bit thrown back. Nathan turned to Lucas.

"This does mean that I will be stepping down as one of your assistant coaches." Nathan said as Lucas nodded. "I was thinking of stepping down anyways since Jamie is in high school. I would rather be a dad in the bleachers than a coach on the sideline." He said looking for his older brother's approval. Lucas nodded again and then adjusted his shoulder as he took in the information.

"Just let me know how my family can support you." Lucas said with a smile and Nathan hugged him. "I'm going to miss you being on the sideline with me." He laughed.

"Oh you'll just hear me from the bleachers yelling at all your stupid decisions." Nathan laughed. Lucas shook his head.

"Great another parent who thinks they know better than the coach." Lucas said.

"Well I did go pro…" Nathan said as Lucas rolled his eyes and then pushed him.
