The sun rose on a beautiful Sunday morning in Tree Hill. Lucas ran down the bridge as he dribbled a ball next to him. He enjoyed his daily run, something he wished he could get his boys to join but none have wanted to join him yet. He was a mile from the house but detoured to the Rivercourt. He got to the Rivercourt to find Jamie shooting and running after his ball. Lucas smiled as he walked up to his nephew.
"It's 6:45 in the morning on a Sunday. What are you doing here?" Lucas laughed as Jamie shrugged.
"Gotta get ready for the season if I want to beat my dad's stats." Jamie said as Lucas nodded.
"Well, I think you can beat some of them." Lucas said.
"And maybe have my jersey hanging next to Q's one day." Jamie said as Lucas nodded.
"If that's the goal you need to put in a lot of work." Lucas said as he caught one of Jamie's rebounds. "You up for it?" He asked as Jamie nodded.
"One on one?" Jamie asked.
"Oh so now that you are in high school you think you can win?" Lucas asked.
"As long as I go right." Jamie joked as Lucas bounced the ball to him.
"Oh and you got jokes..." Lucas said as they started playing one on one. Basket after basket was scored and blocked. They played for two hours. Jamie was determined to beat his uncle. Lucas laughed as he beat Jamie again.
"Are you ever going to let me win?" Jamie complained.
"Let you win?" Lucas asked. "I thought you were a Scott. Where is that Scott mentality?" He asked as Jamie walked over to the benches. Lucas followed him and sat down next to him.
"Do you let Kieran win?" Jamie asked as he took a sip of his water.
"No, but Key beats me more than I beat him." Lucas laughed. "But that only came last summer. Have you beat your dad yet?" He asked.
"Once but he was sick, so it didn't count." Jamie laughed.
"You just have to keep working. Have you beat Kieran?" Lucas asked.
"Oh yeah, tons of times!" Jamie said with a huge smile. "He's a big outside shooter. He can't drive the ball that well." He said as Lucas nodded. "But he beats me with stamina. He can just keep running and running and running."
"Soccer has really helped out. He might not be the best player on the team but it keeps him in shape for basketball." Lucas said. "Do you think you might play a second sport?" He asked.
"Yeah! I plan to try out for baseball." Jamie said as Lucas nodded.
"Just be careful sliding into bases. You don't want to injure yourself." Lucas said as Kieran's jeep pulled up. The weather was still nice in Tree Hill, so Kieran had the roof and back panel of his Jeep off. Keith and Davis jumped out of the back and ran over to their dad. Kieran sat in the driver's seat for a moment as he wiped his eyes and face. He was about to get out of the jeep when Samantha called. He shook his head and groaned. He was going to pick it up when Davis ran back over.
"I'm on your team!" Davis said as Kieran nodded. "Come on!" He said with a huge smile. Kieran smiled at his brother and then clicked ignore. He hop out of his jeep and walked over to them.
"I am surprised to see you up." Lucas laughed as Kieran shook his head.
"I woke him up!" Davis said as Kieran nodded.
"Who's team are you on?" Kieran asked his dad.
"I actually have to head home soon. Mom is leaving for New York and I need to drive her to the airport." Lucas said. "I'll see y'all at home." He said and started to walk away. He stopped and watched the boys play for a moment and smiled.
Lily rubbed her eyes as she sat up in her bed. She reached for her phone. She had a couple of texts from Tanner asking what she was up to today. She then called him.
"Heeeey Sleepyhead." Tanner said.
"Hi!" Lily said as she reached for her blanket and pulled it over her.
"What are you up too?" He asked.
"I just woke up." She sighed and closed her eyes.
"Oh haha. I mean what are you doing today?" He asked.
"I don't have anything planned. I think Spencer is coming over as soon as she wakes up." She said.
"Can I come over too?" He asked. "I'm not working today, and want to see you."
"Yeah! Please come over!" She said and sat up in bed.
"What do you and Spencer typically do on a Sunday?" He asked.
"Sit at the pool." She said.
"Okay cool cool. So bring a change of clothes or are you booting me out after the pool?" He asked and she laughed.
"Yes bring a change of clothes. I'm pretty sure my dad is teaching Kieran how to grill burgers and hotdogs today." She said as she got out of bed. She walked to her dresser and started looking at different swimsuits.
"Oh that sounds like a good dinner!" He said. "What time should I come by? It's 10 now."
"I need just a little bit to get ready, so maybe 11?" She said.
"Get ready for the pool?" He laughed. "Alright…I'll see you then Lils." He said.
"Okay! Bye!" She said.
"Bye!" He said and hung up. She was pulling out different suits and decided on a black and white bikini. She threw it on her bed and then walked to her mirror. She was wearing a blue oversized hoodie and pj shorts that were covered by her hoodie. She walked out of her room and down the stairs. Brooke was walking in and out of her room getting ready to leave for New York. She had a pair of jeans on and a white blouse that was comfortable for flying. Brooke walked into the kitchen as Lily came down the stairs.
"Good morning honey!" Brooke said as Lily walked into the kitchen.
"Good morning." Lily said with a smile and then sat down at the kitchen island. Brooke placed a bagel with cream cheese and avocado on it in front of Lily. "Thanks!" She said and watched her mom look at some emails. "Are you really going back to New York?" She sighed.
"It's just a couple of days. I'll be back by Wednesday afternoon." Brooke said as Lily rolled her eyes. "I have to. There's a bunch of things I have to sign off on." She said.
"But you were there like a week ago. Why couldn't you have signed off of the things then?" Lily complained.
"That's just not how it works. I am signing off on things all day, every day." Brooke said as Lily shrugged. "When do you find out about the school play?" She asked.
"Uhh I think tomorrow. Maybe at lunch." Lily said.
"That's so exciting! I didn't do anything like theater in high school. Just cheer team. What are you hoping for?" Brooke asked.
"Oh I don't know. It was my first audition so I'm not expecting anything big. As long as I'm in the assemble I'll be fine." Lily said with a half smile.
"Whatever you get just know your father and I will not miss a single performance, okay." Brooke said with a smile. "Just like we haven't missed any of the boys sporting events or your dance recitals." She added.
"I know but now I am left with the boys…." Lily sighed as Brooke laughed.
"We can have a girl day when I get back." Brooke said with a smile. "I will check you out after I land okay?" She said as Lily smiled.
"That would be great!" Lily said.
"How's school been going?" Brooke asked.
"It's fine." Lily shrugged.
"Just fine?" Brooke asked.
"I mean the classes are boring, but everything else is so much fun! Cheer is awesome! We are going to start stunting in practice on Monday." Lily said.
"Oh that's exciting!" Brooke said. "I saw a letter in your room. Who sent it?" She asked.
"What letter?" Lily asked trying to not seem invested.
"The one I left on your bed." Brooke said.
"Did you read it? Mom that is such an invasion of privacy!" Lily scoffed.
"I didn't read it." Brooke said.
"Why were you in my room!" Lily stated angrily.
"Because it was an absolute mess, Lily. I spent a lot of time picking up clothes, folding clothes, and reorganizing your makeup." Brooke said.
"No one asked you to do that." Lily said and crossed her arms.
"Oh really." Brooke said as she put her hands on her hips. "I do not like this attitude Lily." She stated plainly.
"What attitude?" Lily stated back.
"Do you want to be grounded? I have no problem doing that." Brooke said. "You can easily just spend the entire day in your room. No friends over for the pool." She said with a mom look that made Lily uncross her arms.
"No I don't." Lily said.
"Alright then." Brooke said.
"Next time you want to go in my room just don't snoop." Lily said.
"Go to your room." Brooke stated as she pointed up the stairs. Lucas walked in the front door. He saw the way Brooke and Lily were looking at each other.
"What did I walk into?" Lucas asked as Lily stormed off and stomped her way up the stairs. "Get back down here right this minute young lady." He boomed up the stairs. Lily walked back down the stairs and stood in front of him.
"What?" Lily stated looking at her dad.
"Excuse me?" Lucas said.
"Mom went into my room without asking." Lily said.
"And?" He stated back to his daughter. "Last time I checked it was a room in the house that your mother and I own." He said as she sighed.
"But…" Lily said back.
"No buts Lily. If this attitude continues you are going to be grounded. Do you really want that?" He asked as she shook her head. "That's what I thought. Your mother takes time out of her day to keep this house clean. You need to apologize to her." He said.
"But…" Lily said as he gave her a look. "I'm sorry mom." She said as Brooke nodded.
"I forgive you." Brooke said. "And I am sorry that you feel like I invaded your privacy., I promise I didn't open the letter."
"Can I go upstairs now?" Lily asked and her parents nodded. Lucas then turned to Brooke.
"All packed?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready." She said as they walked to his car together. As they left Spencer's brother pulled up and she got out. She walked inside and up the stairs to Lily's room. As she got closer she could hear music playing from her room. She opened the door and Lily turned to face her.
"What's wrong?" Spencer asked as Lily groaned.
"My parents are just so annoying. My mom went into my room and messed with the letters." Lily said.
"Well why did you leave them out?" Spencer asked.
"There's a lot of letters, I guess one just fell out." Lily said.
"The longer you hide those letters, I think the more your parents will be even more pissed." Spencer said.
"Maybe they won't be mad at all?" Lily said as Spencer laughed.
"Your parents not mad?" Spencer said. "Were you born yesterday? Your parents get mad at everything. I mean yeah they let a lot slide, but they are always pissed at something with the four of you." She laughed and Lily sighed.
"Yeah….but then the question comes up that I have the letters, found the letters, and all that. They will know I'm the reason the body shop burnt down." Lily said as she walked to the bathroom. She started brushing her hair while Spencer sighed and sat down on the bed. The box of letters was sitting next to the bed and she reached down for it and put it on the bed.
"Lil can I look through them?" Spencer asked. "I won't open any." She said.
"Yeah whatever." Lily said as she was fixing herself in the mirror. Spencer started flipping through them while they were listening to music. She came across a letter that was addressed to her. It didn't say Spencer on it, but it said 'To My Daughter's Best Friend.' Spencer stopped flipping and picked out the letter. Lily walked back into her room from the connected bathroom. "What's that one say?" She asked.
"To my daughter's best friend." Spencer said.
"Hmm, what's it say?" Lily asked as she sat down next to Spencer.
"You want me to read it?" Spencer asked as Lily looked at her with a smile. Spencer opened it and unfolded the paper. 'To my daughter's best friend. Thank you for being her best friend. I can't imagine what her life looks like at this moment. I hope she is happy. I hope she is living every day to the fullest. I hope you make her laugh and smile. I wonder how often you see each other, spend the night, go to the movies. Who's house is the house to hang out. Do you cheer together? I hope you lift each other up. I wonder if you will share a relationship like Brooke and Peyton did. Those two girls ran all over town together. They had a strong relationship until someone came between them. My advice to you is don't let anything or anyone come between the two of you. She has already been through so much, you are her best friend. Her chosen family. Remember that as the two of you go through your years together. Be her rock, and she will be yours. Thank you for being her best friend." Spencer finished and looked at Lily with a smile.
Lucas got up from his desk to walk Teddy. He walked with Teddy to the patio door to check on the kids and then looked down at Teddy. "Ready for a run?" He asked and Teddy barked. Lucas walked to the front door and put Teddy's leash on him and then walked out the front door. As he did this, Kieran walked down the stairs in his swimsuit. Charlie passed Lucas on his way inside.
"Hi Coach!" Charlie said.
"Hey Charlie. I think Key is up in his room." Lucas said as he took off down the street. Charlie walked inside and found Kieran in Lucas' office.
"Hey!" Charlie said and Kieran looked up.
"Hey." Kieran said as he was sitting in the desk chair.
"I thought this room was off limits when your dad isn't home." Charlie said as Kieran rolled his eyes.
"I need to print that essay for class tomorrow and my printer isn't working." Kieran said as Charlie nodded. "I emailed it to my dad." He looked through his dad's email and found the essay. He opened it and clicked print. As it was printing Kieran was snooping on his dad's files when he came across his adoption file. He opened it and it had all of his birth family's information. As he skimmed through it he saw a couple of addresses. Charlie watched as Kieran copied the information over to a piece of paper.
"What's that?" Charlie asked as Kieran exited out of all the information and then stood up.
"Uh it's Clark's info…" Kieran said as he grabbed his essay off the printer.
"Oh shit, no way." Charlie said as they both headed up the stairs. "What are you going to do with it?" He asked.
"I don't know." Kieran said and then put the files into his backpack. He looked over at his friend. "Don't say a word. I don't know what's been up with you lately but you've been a loud mouth." He said as Charlie laughed. If only Kieran knew the secret he was keeping.
"Okay I won't." Charlie said. Kieran nodded and the two of them started walking down the stairs. Kieran slid the door open to the backyard as Lily was coming in. He walked past her and out to the pool. Lily walked into the kitchen and Charlie followed behind her. "Hey." He said as she looked at him.
"Hi?" Lily questioned.
"Have you opened any? Or at least told Kieran, I can't keep this from him much longer. I keep blabbing other secrets and he's getting pissed." He asked as she made a face at him telling him to be quiet.
"Are you stupid?" She said as she looked around and noticed her dad wasn't in his office off the kitchen.
"Your dad isn't home, and everyone else is outside." He said as Tanner walked around the corner from the bathroom. He had heard the whole conversation.
"What are y'all up too?" Tanner asked as she softly smiled.
"Nothing. I got you another drink." She said and handed it to him. As they walked back outside she turned her head and gave Charlie a nasty look. Charlie rolled his eyes and followed them out. Lily and Tanner got back in the water and moved their way over to Spencer.
"Oh thank god you're back out here. Kieran wants me to play water basketball and would not stop asking." Spencer said.
"Well I don't want to play either." Lily said as Spencer laughed.
"I was talking to Tanner. I told Kieran that he would play instead of me." Spencer said as Tanner nodded.
"Sounds fun." Tanner said as he placed his water on the side of the pool and went over to Charlie, Jamie, the twins and Kieran. The girls watched them and then both got out of the pool. They went to the lounge chairs and sat down.
"You won't believe what Charlie did." Lily said.
"I'm assuming something about the letters." Spencer sighed. It wasn't that she didn't want to talk about the letters, she just thought at this point Lily was completely addicted to everything about the letters.
"Yes!" Lily said and noticed Spencer's tone. "I've been talking about the letters too much. Have you heard from your mom?" She asked.
"It's okay you just found out about them. I would be just as obsessed." Spencer said. "I still haven't heard from her at all. My siblings said I need to stop reaching out to her. She left me, but I still think it's my dad's fault. He is still bringing some woman over every night that he comes home. I can hear them. I am so over it. I'm just glad he is gone for a week at a conference. I can just hang out at Peter's." She said as Lily sighed. "But go on about the letters because it makes me not think about my mom. I live for your troubles." She said as she smiled over her cup. Lily rolled her eyes and took a sip from her cup. The two then laid down on their stomachs to tan their backs.
"Well last night I was slipping through them, and I found one for Lucas and I opened it." Lily said as Spencer grinned. She loved Lily so much.
"Of course you did." Spencer said with a smile. "What did it say?" She asked.
"Oh a bunch of things, about how she doesn't blame him for anything. What it would be like for him having children after adopting me. It was the longest letter. It was six pages long." Lily said. As Spencer was nodding.
"I think you need to give your dad his letter." Spencer suggested.
"Are you kidding? Hours ago you said how pissed they are going to be when they find out I have the letters. I can't just randomly give him the letter. He will question everything." Lily said as Tanner hopped out of the pool and was walking over to them.
"Well we could come up with some kind of plan…" Spencer said as Tanner sat down by Lily's feet.
"Plan for what?" Tanner asked.
"Nothing." Lily said as Tanner shook his head.
"You know Lil I think I'm going to head home." He said as he stood up. "Thanks for having me over."
"What why?" She asked as she turned over and looked at him. He walked to the door to go inside and Lily followed him. "Wait!" She said as she grabbed his arm. He pulled his arm from her and then turned around.
"Why?" He asked. "You keep running around having secret little conversations and when I walk up you just stop talking. If you want to have these little conversations, fine whatever. But I'm not going to sit around while you do it. If you have a problem with me just say it to my face." He said and then walked inside the house.
"Wait." She said and grabbed his hand. "I'm sorry it seemed like we were talking about you. With Charlie earlier and then Spencer just now. I know it might seem like we were talking about you, but we weren't." She said.
"Coulda fooled me." He said. "So what's the big secret? If you aren't talking about me there must be something going on." He said as she sighed. She grabbed his hand and brought him up the stairs to her room. She closed the door behind her and then leaned against the door and looked at him.
"I did something really stupid." She said and then walked to her closet where she stores the letters. She grabbed the box and brought them over to her bed. "You know the night of the storm?"
"Yeah?" He said.
"I broke into Keith's Motor Shop that night to get these letters." She said.
"You what?" He said. "Lily, that place caught fire that night. You could have been injured. That's so stupid."
"I think I'm the reason it caught on fire." She sighed and then sat down on her bed. He sat there quietly not saying a single word. "I had to get the letters, you know. I just had too." She said as he nodded. He really didn't know what to say. Just as he was about to open his mouth there was a knock at Lily's door and then it opened. Spencer walked in and let them know that Kieran had just started up the grill and they were missing a really good show. Both teenagers got up and followed Spencer down the hall. Just before going down the stairs Tanner reached forward and grabbed Lily's hand. He squeezed it and then continued to hold her hand as they walked down the stairs. They walked outside and sat down on the couch on the deck. Spencer looked at Lily and then over at Tanner. They started talking as they watched Lucas teach Kieran how to use the grill.
Lucas stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his lower half. He walked into his room and put on a hoodie and a pair of basketball shorts. He walked back to the bathroom, hung up his towel and then looked at himself in the mirror. He finished cleaning up his beard and walked out of the bathroom. He turned on the lamp that was next to his side of the bed and then walked out of his bedroom. He first walked to the front door and made sure it was locked, then checked the garage door, and the back door, and then made his way up the stairs. It was getting close to 9 o'clock which on a Sunday night in the Scott house meant the kids were in their rooms getting ready for bed. He got to the top of the stairs and look over at the empty bedroom they had promised to Davis. He walked to that door and opened it, still an empty room but the fresh coat of paint that Lucas did yesterday was dried. He smiled and closed the door. He then opened the next door which was the twins' room. The twins' room was painted a navy blue, which Keith liked but Davis was indifferent to. They both had full-size beds with navy bedding to match. On their walls were various sports teams, shelves, and a tv mounted on the wall across front their beds. Keith was face down on his bed with a foot hanging off the side, asleep. Davis was still up reading a book in his bed. Lucas fixed the blanket over Keith and then turned to his other son. He walked to Davis' bed and sat down on the end of it.
"Looks like we can get you in your new room next weekend." Lucas said with a smile.
"Really!" Davis asked looking over his book. He was rereading the first three chapters of 'Where the Red Fern Grows.'
"Yeah, the paint turned out nicely. I was nervous for how dark of a green you wanted." Lucas replied.
"Mom calls it Jasper…" Davis said with a laugh.
"Well if anyone would know, it's mom." Lucas said. "Got any exciting things going on in school this week?" He asked as Davis sighed and looked over at his twin asleep.
"Not really…" Davis said. "We have a test on the first 3 chapters tomorrow for this book." He said.
"Oh do you feel prepared for it?" Lucas asked.
"Oh yeah! I'm rereading the chapters now just to have them fresh." Davis said as Lucas nodded.
"Well I will let you get back to those chapters. Lights out after your finished." Lucas said as Davis nodded. He watched his dad walk to the door and then spoke up.
"Dad." Davis said.
"Yeah son?" Lucas said as he turned around.
"Did a girl ever come between you and Uncle Nathan?" Davis asked as Lucas leaned against the doorframe. He thought about the question and then looked over at Keith. That kid could sleep through a fire alarm going off.
"Well Davis, Uncle Nathan and I didn't grow up together like that. You know that." Lucas replied.
"I know but did it ever happen?" Davis asked.
"Actually your aunt Haley came between me and Uncle Nathan." Lucas replied as Davis set his book down. Lucas walked back to Davis' bed and sat down. "You see Aunt Haley was my best friend growing up. She kinda just inserted herself into my life. I think because she liked how it was just me and my mom. She didn't have to wait to be acknowledged. Grandma Karen was just like that, she made everyone feel welcome and safe. Well, a lot of people thought maybe me and Aunt Haley loved each other but wouldn't say anything. We didn't. She was just my best friend. But you know she met Uncle Nathan and she started to change. At first I was really upset. She became a cheerleader, was dating the star on the basketball team, and got married in high school. I didn't think Uncle Nathan was a good guy, but he is, you know he is. Why do you ask?" He said.
"Well there's this new girl at school, Dylan. I like her." Davis said as Lucas smiled. "But so does Keith." He added and the smile left Lucas' face. "I uh pretended to be Keith when Dylan got us confused and stole Keith's lunch date with Dylan. He hasn't really talked to me since." He said as Lucas nodded. "What do I do?" He asked.
"You need to first say sorry to your brother. There are going to be lots of girls Davis, but you only have one twin." Lucas said as Davis nodded. "As far as this girl Dylan goes…maybe you and Keith should talk about what happens if you both like a girl. Maybe if you both like the same girl you both find a different girl." He suggested as Davis sighed.
"I know… She's just really pretty." Davis said.
"Well if you really like her than talk to Keith about it. But if Keith got up the nerves to ask Dylan to lunch maybe he really likes her too, and you should let him explore that. Did you have fun talking at lunch?" Lucas asked.
"I mean kinda. We don't like the same things but she's pretty." Davis said as Lucas laughed to himself.
"Well if she's just pretty than you should let your brother explore if there is something there. When you are dating someone looks aren't important. It's about the connection you have with them, the shared interest, how you are with them. Looks are nice, but it shouldn't be the number one thing." Lucas said as Davis nodded.
"Okay I'll talk to Keith." Davis said. "Night dad, love you."
"Good night Davis." Lucas said as he stood up. He checked on Keith one more time and then walked out of their room. He walked down the hall to Keiran's room and saw the door open. He walked into the room and Kieran had his back to the door while working on his computer. "Hey bud." Lucas said causing Kieran to jump a little. "Sorry about that." Lucas laughed.
"Hey dad." Kieran said turning in his desk chair.
"What are you working on?" Lucas asked.
"Oh just a little of this a little of that." Kieran replied. He was looking at Clark's home address on the map not to long ago.
"Well I am just coming to say good night. You think you'll be asleep soon?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah I was going to watch a little tv before I went to bed, if that's okay?" Kieran asked as he got up from his desk and flopped on his bed.
"Not to loud, and not to late. Okay?" Lucas suggested.
"Yeah no problem." Kieran said as Lucas smiled. "Night dad." He added.
"Good night." Lucas said as he walked out of the door. Kieran waited until his dad was a bit down the hall, got up from his bed and shut the door. He laid back down on his bed and looked over at his computer thinking about his past. Lucas got to Lily's door, knocked on it and heard her say come in. "Hey sweetie." He said as he walked in. Lily was laying in her bed scrolling on her phone.
"Hi." Lily replied. Lucas walked into her room and sat down on her bed. Lily looked at him and then back at her phone.
"Can we talk?" He asked as she nodded, sat up and set her phone aside.
"What's up dad." She asked.
"So you know how Keiran had been helping around the body shop for the clean up crew." He said as she nodded. "Well he found a safe and inside were some papers, photos and a letter from Karen." He sighed. "In the letter I found out that Karen had been writing you some letters but I don't know where they are." He said as she looked behind him at her closet. It's the perfect time to tell him she thought.
"Oh…uh…" She started to say.
"Let me finish." He said and patted her leg. "I feel absolutely terrible that I let that place rot instead of taking you there. I knew mom went there almost every day so I imagine that's where she kept the letters. I'm sorry that yet another piece of her has been taken from you. I never even let you explore a place where Keith and I spent all our time together at. He raised me in that body shop, and I couldn't bare to take you there and I'm sorry. It was just too hard." He said as she sighed and remembered what Karen had written in a letter.
"Dad…" She said about to tell him and he looked at her. She could see the hurt in his eyes and she just couldn't bare to tell him. "It's okay." She said and then arranged herself to be sitting next to him. He wrapped his arm around her and held her tight. "You have given me a great life, the best you could. Mom would be really proud and so would my dad." She said as Lucas hugged her tighter. He kissed the top of her head and wiped a tear from his eye.
"You are so much like both of them. I am just so happy that I still have you." He said. "And I am so very proud of you." He said as she thought about all the reasons he shouldn't be. He let her go and smiled at her. "Well got anything fun going on tomorrow at school? Don't they post the lineup tomorrow?" He asked.
"The cast list, yeah tomorrow morning it will be posted." She said.
"Do you think you'll get the lead? What musical is it?" He asked.
"It's Mamma Mia and I don't think I'll get the lead lead. But maybe one of the minor characters. Idk…" She shrugged.
"Well you've been in dance lessons since you were four, and voice and acting lessons since you were seven, so I kinda hope you get a lead role, or why did we do all that." He joked.
"I'm sure you spent the same amount of money on the boys sports as you did for my things." She said back and he laughed.
"I was joking!" He said with a smile and she smiled back. "We will be at every show even if you are a tree." He said.
"I don't think there are any roles that are trees, thankfully." She said as she started getting under the sheets.
"Well even if there is, and some how you are the tree, we will be there." He said as he tucked her in. He walked to the door, and smiled looking back at her. "Love you Lils, good night."
"Good night, I love you too dad." She said as he turned out the lights and shut her door. As he walked back down the hall he saw Kieran's door shut with the tv glow on. He continued walking downstairs and then to his room. When he got to his room Teddy was already on the bed taking up Brooke's side. Lucas petted him as he got into bed. He grabbed the book from the night stand and started to read until he was tired.
-Hope y'all enjoy this update! I am sorry about it taking some time. I promise to update more frequently as I finally have my passion for writing back. It took a look to get it back so I am so happy to say I finally enjoy writing again. If you follow my other story I will be updating that story in the coming weeks. I have a lot written for the Raven Basketball Season and some good twists and turns. There will be a time hop coming after the next 2 chapters. It won't be a big time jump but it will be a time jump to the start of the Raven Season!- mj
