-Oshibana station with the Fairy Tail mages-
A petite and beautiful woman dressed in a maid outfit consisting of a black undercoat and a white, frilled-trim apron and white knee-length white socks with black shoes. She has blue eyes and shackles around her wrists and short pink hair and a maid headpiece. This is the celestial spirit Virgo the maiden.
"You summoned Mistress, what can I do for you?" Virgo asked while owing a little to Lucy. Lucy was stunned silent because the Virgo they had seen on their previous mission was a massive gorilla of a maid.
"Who are you?" Lucy asked with a stunned expression.
"I am Virgo Mistress, I am a very loyal spirit who desires to please their wizard so I try to take on whatever form my wizard might find most appealing," Virgo explained.
"This is a much better form than that gorilla lady," Gray commented shuddering at the memory of the giant form of Virgo.
"I'm afraid we are running short on time so can we work out the contract details late?" Lucy asked the spirit. A Celestial Spirit Mage will form a contract with a Celestial Spirit that will stipulate when they can be summoned.
"Of course, whatever you would like Mistress," Virgo said turning to Lucy and spotting the whip on Lucy's belt.
"Must you really call me Mistress?" Lucy asked not liking the nickname a lot crossing her arms in irritation.
"Would you prefer me calling you Queen?" Virgo asked which got a quick and decisive "No" from Lucy.
"What about Princess then?" Virgo asked with an ever-present smile. This got Lucy's attention and she got a holier-than-thou kind of expression on her face with sparkles around her.
"Oh yeah, that's more I like it," Lucy said satisfied with being addressed as 'Princess'.
"Would you hurry it up?" Gray asked in an impatient tone.
"As you wish Sir," Virgo replied before starting to spin like a drill. She quickly drilled out a hole that connected the inside the barrier and the outside world.
"Wow, look at her go," Gray commented with an excited look on his face.
"Well done Lucy," Erza congratulated Lucy and smashed Lucy's head against her breastplate unaware of the pain she caused the blond. Lucy had an uncomfortable look on her face which quickly disappeared once Erza let go of her.
"Let's go, guys," Gray said preparing to jump into the hole only to stop and stare at Elfman who was hoisting the unconscious form of Kageyama onto his shoulders.
"What are you doing?" Gray asked indicating to the dark mage.
"It wouldn't be manly of us to leave him here so I'm taking him with us so that he can get medical treatment," Elfman declared. The group quickly moved through the hole that Virgo created and emerged in the windy and abandoned city of Oshibana on the other side of the Wind barrier.
"Okay now that we are out of there let's get that 'Shinigami' fellow before he can execute his plan," Gray declared and started so move in the direction of Clover Town.
"It's no use. You will never be able to catch up with Erigor. You can't stop us, we've won," Kageyama croaked out from Elfman's shoulder. He got defiant looks from the Fairy Tail mages.
"Gray use that Magic Motorcycle over there to catch up to Erigor, with the magical power inside of you I know you can catch up to him. The rest of us will follow in the Magic Four-Wheeler," Erza instructed pointing at the nearby bike. A Magic Motorcycle has a faster top speed compared to a Magic Four-Wheeler but it can only take one person.
"Right," Gray responded and dashed to the bike quickly mounting it and speeding off. The remaining Fairy Tail mages jogged to the Magic Four-Wheeler they came in with and got in with Erza once again in the driver seat and Elfman, Lucy and Kageyama in the back.
"Why are you taking me with you?" the heavily bandaged Kageyama asked the two mages he was in the back with.
"If you hadn't noticed yet you are injured and because of the trouble, you made here the nearest doctor is in Clover Town. Try and show some gratitude," Lucy replied.
"I don't understand, why are you helping me, were enemies?" Kageyama asked which only got him a scoff from Lucy and no reaction from Elfman what so ever.
"Oh wait for a second, I get it. You are taking me hostage so that you can try and make a deal with Erigor. Well, you can forget it, he couldn't care less about me or any of his men," Kageyama said as he thought he realised why these light mages were taking him with them.
"If you want to die we can make that happen. There is a whole lot more to this manly world than life and death you know," Elfman said as he stared off into the distance through the window before turning to look at Kageyama.
"Yeah, you should try and look for the positive things more. You and the rest of your guild," Lucy added as Kageyama got a thoughtful look on his face.
Outside Erza was beginning to feel the effect of draining a lot of her power once again as her vision was beginning to get blurry. 'Gray I believe in you, stop Erigor,' Erza thought as she kept her concentration on the road.
-With Gray as he was racing down the railroad track-
After a few minutes of racing on the track in pursuit of Erigor, Gray spotted a flying form in the distance. As he closed in he realised that the flying form was none other than Erigor the 'Shinigami'. Gray attempted something he usually would not but in this situation, he had little choice. He raised his one hand while steering with his other. Forming a ball of ice, Gray threw it at the 'Shinigami' managing to hit him. The unexpected hit caused Erigor to lose focus on flying and he plummeted to the railroad. As Erigor made his impact with the railroad Gray skidded to a halt and jumped off the bike.
"So you Fairy Tail flies managed to get past my wind barrier, you little flies can be such a nuisance. Not get out of my way, kid," Erigor commented and he stood up and held his scythe behind his back with his right hand and stared at Gray with an emotionless face.
"I am going to have to put your request on ice. I will not allow you to reach the Masters," Gray replied in defiance. Erigor sends a powerful gust of wind at Gray. Gray raised his guard and slammed his palms on the ground while yelling out "Ice-Make: Shield" forming an ice shield in front of him.
Gray placed his right fist on his upwards facing left hand and called out "Ice-Make: Sword". It looked like he was drawing the ice sword out of his left hand. Gray then readied himself for a melee scuffle with Erigor and charged him with the sword at the ready. As Gray brought the sword down on Erigor the sound of metal against ice could be heard.
Erigor blocked the sword slash with his scythe, Gray took one step back and thrust his sword forward intending to impale it into Erigor's abdomen. Erigor swiped his scythe to block the strike and as he cleaved the sword to the right he extended his left hand and fired a blast of air at Gray sending him tumbling back.
Gray skidded to a halt and managed to roll out of the way of Erigor's scythe just before it cleaved him in two. Gray jumped up and got back into his maker stance. "Ice-Make: Lance" Gray called out and sent multiple long curved ice lances towards Erigor. "Storm Shred" Erigor countered with a spell of his own which fired off a barrage of wind at the lances.
Snow dust covered the battlefield and Gray was frantically looking around for Erigor. He heard Erigor call out "Emera Baram" from behind him and felt the wind starting to pick up before being hit by a very strong wind that started to cut his shirt and coat, which he amazingly hadn't stripped off yet, to pieces. He felt many small cuts begin to form on his torso and decided to do something about it calling out "Ice-Make: Body Armour" covering himself in a layer of ice.
After the slicing winds subsided and eventually died out causing the dust to be blown away Gray fell to one knee trying to catch his breath after having to pour a large amount of magic into his ice armour to prevent it from being completely destroyed. Much to Erigor's surprise, the fly was still alive and not in shreds like his coat and shirt.
"I'm surprised you are still in one piece little fly. This might be a bit more fun than I initially thought," Erigor said as he readied his scythe and extended his left hand with its palm facing Gray.
"I just about had it with you dark mages, you think so high and mighty of yourselves and never think about how the things you do would affect other people," Gray said as he ripped off the remains of his shirt and coat now only in his pants and shoes. With an enraged expression on his face, he fell into his maker stance and called out "Ice-Make: Lance".
"That won't work kid," Erigor said and called out his attack "Storm Shred". Unlike the previous time the icy lances did not break, Erigor was shocked, to say the least, and could not react in time to defend from the attack. 'Where did this power come from?' Erigor thought to himself as he was hit with the attack and skidded backwards.
"Ice-Make: Hammer" Gray yelled out creating a large ice hammer above Erigor and dropped it on him. "Storm Wall' Erigor called out before the ice hammer hit him creating a wall of wind that shielded him from Gray's attack.
"You are quite the nuisance little fly, but now it is time I stop holding back," Erigor said as he floated into the air. "Storm Mail" Erigor called out while crossing his hands before him. The air currents gathered around him creating a hurricane surrounding his entire body creating wind armour. Erigor then flew towards Gray readying his scythe.
"Time to die fly," Erigor called out as he swung his scythe at Gray. "Ice-Make: Battle Axe" Gray called out and deflected the blow with his new ice axe. As Erigor stumbled due to the deflected blow Gray swung the ae at his body intending to do massive damage but Erigor's 'Storm Mail' spell destroyed the icy axe as it made contact.
"Your attacks are useless little fly. Now that you see that you can't hurt me, why don't you just lie there and allow me to kill you," Erigor taunted with a demented glare in his eye while he laughed.
"I will never give up because if I do the Guild Masters will have to destroy you and they should not be concerned with trash like you. So I will defeat you here and now," Gray said while standing up straight.
"Ice-Make: Arrows" Gray called out creating an ice bow in his hands and shot ice arrow after ice arrow at Erigor. Erigor just stood there confident that his 'Storm Mail' will be enough to protect him. This was the cast for the first five arrows but the sixth arrow actually hit his body but did minimal damage. The next four arrows all hit him with increasing power causing Erigor to get worried.
"Emera Baram" Erigor called out in retaliation as his 'Storm Mail' died out. Gray dodged the attack this time and smirked as he saw Erigor's wind armour disappear. "Ice-Make: Ice Geyser" Gray called out one of his strongest spells, freezing the ground in front of him and creating a tower of ice spikes that hit Erigor in the stomach.
"Ice-Make: Seven Slice Dance" Gray called out his finishing move, creating ice lades jutting back from both of his forearms rapidly slashing Erigor seven times. As Gray stood behind Erigor the ice blades shattered. Erigor let out a pained grunt and fell forward in defeat. Gray slumped down in exhaustion.
The Lullaby flute fell out of Erigor's pocket and its three eyes glowed purple for a moment before the glow died down as Lucy's voice could be heard calling out to Gray.
"Hey, you guys just missed me eating Erigor here," Gray said and pointed to the defeated Erigor on the train tracks. The car stopped and everyone got out with Lucy moving to support Erza as she stumbled out of the driver seat due to her low magic levels.
"Are you going to be all right Erza?" Lucy asked with concern.
"Yes, don't worry about me. I'm proud of you Gray," Erza replied before congratulating Gray on his victory against Erigor while gratefully accepting Lucy's shoulder for support. Kageyama was stunned when he got out of the car and saw Erigor, who he had never seen be beaten, lying on the ground unconscious.
'This guy defeated Erigor, now way,' Kageyama thought before seeing Lullaby on the ground. The Fairy Tail mages didn't seem to see it since they were preoccupied with their guildmate. Elfman was busy praising Gray on his manliness since he defeated Erigor while Erza and Lucy looked on in amusement.
"While we are here I suggest we go and see the Masters and tell them about our mission and ask them how to properly dispose of the Lullaby flute," Erza said getting positive response from her guildmates.
They were suddenly interrupted by the sound of the Magic Four-Wheeler starting up and had to dodge the vehicle that now had multiple shadowy arms coming out of it as it literally jumped over them. One of the arms grabbed the Lullaby flute and the Fairy Tail mages could see Kageyama in the driver seat with a maniacal grin on his face.
"Kageyama, what do you think you're doing?" Gray called out as he recovered from the shock of nearly being hit by a car.
"Lullaby is mine now, shouldn't have let your guard down flies," Kageyama called out as he sped away on the railroad towards Clover Town while laughing. This left all the Fairy Tail mages completely stunned.
"That jerk, it's not manly to steal from the people who saved you," Elfman roared out.
"This is how he pays us back for saving his life?" Lucy questioned rhetorically.
After him," Erza commanded as the group raced after the vehicle.
-With a dark-cloaked individual at night-
The dark-cloaked individual followed Kageyama through a forest while keeping his distance. They knew that Kageyama was in possession of the Lullaby flute but something about his life span container caught their interest. Kageyama wasn't corrupted.
The individual decided to observe the matter before acting and potentially having to betray his moral code if things got ugly.
-With Kageyama in the forest-
'This should be close enough for them to hear the Lullaby song from here,' Kageyama thought as he overlooked the meeting hall where all the Guild Masters were still busy with their meeting. He once again looked over his shoulder as he had done quite a few times while in the forest because it felt like someone was following him but once again he saw nothing.
'Finally, the time has come for our revenge,' he thought. It was then that he heard the sound of someone's voice to his right.
"There are quite a few hot little numbers in this week's issue," Kageyama heard the voice of an old man. He was startled since he thought this was the person that had been following him up until this point in time. When he turned to look he saw the back of a short man in an orange jacket and an orange and blue striped jester hat sitting on a rock.
"Wow young wizarding ladies are so much more powerful than they were in my day and sexier too," the old man said while looking at a Sorcerer's Weekly magazine.
"I don't have time for this, I need to catch up to those fools before they destroy an entire town," the old man suddenly said as he stood up to continue walking on the path away from the meeting hall. It was at this moment that the old man sensed Kageyama's presence and hurriedly turned around attempting to explain that he was doing research and that he was innocent.
"I don't care what you were doing," Kageyama interrupted the ramblings of the old man letting out a sigh.
"You have been hurt badly, boy. You shouldn't be wandering around the woods in your condition," the old man noted seeing that Kageyama was bandaged up.
"Yes, sir you are right," Kageyama replied before realising that the short old man was none other than Master Makarov of the Fairy Tail guild and wondering why he keeps on running into the flies.
Makarov let out a sigh of relieve when the young man didn't press on his perverted actions and his successful attempt at avoiding his shame before he started continuing on his way to prevent the damage that his brats would surely do to the unfortunate town that their mission was in.
"Excuse me, I don't suppose you would care to hear a song, they wouldn't let me play my flute in the hospital?" Kageyama asked in a kind and innocent tone while holding the Lullaby flute in his hands and giving Makarov a smile.
"That's one creepy looking flute you got there," Makarov commented while turning around and seeing the skull with three eyes on one end of the wooden flute.
"I know but it has a beautiful sound. It would mean a lot if you would listen to one melody," Kageyama replied hoping to be able to finish off the Master of Fairy Tail with the death song.
"Well, I should be going but I guess one song couldn't hurt," Makarov replied after a brief moment of looking at the man with a calculating gaze.
"Oh, thank you," Kageyama happily replied while thinking that they won. 'This is it, the moment we have been waiting for,' Kageyama thought and brought the flute to his mouth. He started hearing the voices of his guild members talking about their revenge and the weakness of light guilds.
He almost had his mouth on the flute when he heard the voice of Lucy in his mind of when she argued with Erigor that killing people wouldn't help to get their rights back. He started thinking about his encounter with the Fairy Tail mages from when they saved his life after Karacka nearly killed him and the help they gave him just because he was injured.
-With the Fairy Tail mages on the forest path to Clover Town-
As the Fairy Tail mages ran on towards the town meeting hall to warn the Guild Master of the danger they were in they saw Master Makarov and Kageyama standing a few paces away from one another on the ridge between their current location and the meeting hall.
The mages all saw their Master and wanted to rush forward and warn him only for Mater Bob to appear in front of them, startling them and preventing them from warning Master Makarov.
"Shh, we're just about to get to the good part," Master Bob shushed them.
"Well aren't you boys yummy, how adorable," He continued cupping his own cheek while looking at Gray and Elfman. The two male members of Fairy Tail were rightfully frightened at the strange man in front of them and ran away from the tiptoeing crossdresser.
"Who is that guy?" Lucy asked as she stood next to Erza.
"That is Master Bob," Erza replied which caught Master Bob's attention.
"Erza honey, you have really filled out," Master Bob greeted her.
"You're telling me that weirdo is the master of the Blue Pegasus Guild?" Lucy asked while hiding behind Erza. As the group saw Kageyama preparing to play the flute they attempted to warn their master only to be interrupted by Master Goldmine this time.
"Could you keep it down over there we are about to get to the good part," He said while grinning and leaning on a nearby tree.
-Back with Master Makarov and Kageyama-
Kageyama was hesitating a lot at this point and Master Makarov was getting impatient. 'I can do this, I just have to play one song and that will change everything,' Kageyama tried to convince himself.
"Nothing is going to change," Makarov said as if reading Kageyama's mind causing Kageyama to lower the flute in surprise.
"You cannot change the fact that those who are weak will forever remain weak, now maybe it's just me but I don't think that's a bad thing. I mean we humans are weak creatures by nature. Our insecurities are the reason guilds even exist and they're why we have friends. When we're surrounded by allies it's easier to stay positive about the future. Think of it this way if we're clumsy we may stumble and bump into things, but as long as we have faith in our future we continue marching forward, our inner strength emerges on its own. But we have to choose that path and pledge our lives to live to the fullest. Don't let that flute get in the way," Makarov delivered a heart-warming speech.
Kageyama stood still for a moment before dropping the Lullaby flute and fell to his knees, surrendering to Makarov. The Fairy Tail mages looked on in wonder as they saw their master defeat the dark mage with nothing but his words of wisdom. They quickly ran over to Makarov congratulating him on stopping Kageyama.
"Master, your words touched me so deeply that I was almost moved to tears," Erza said while slamming Makarov into her breastplate causing the old man quite a bit of pain.
"Looks like we got here just in time to see Gramps talk his way out of another one," Gray commented while Bob and Goldmine walked up to the group, Lucy attempted to comfort the defeated Kageyama and Elfman embraced the already hurt Master Makarov in a bone-crushing yet 'manly' hug.
Their touching reunion was interrupted by a burst of demonic laughter emanating from the Lullaby flute as a dark purple mist blew out of the eye sockets.
"I have grown tired of you cowardly wizards and your antics," a voice demonic came from the wooden flute before a gigantic magic circle could be seen in the sky.
"I can no longer hold back, I shall come forth to devour you myself. I shall feast on your pitiful souls," the voice continued as an enormous wooden demon with three eyes, two arms, two legs and one head with many cut-outs in its body.
"It's so big," Lucy cried out in fear.
"What is that thing, Erigor never said anything about a monster?" Kageyama questioned in complete fear.
"It must be a demon from the Book of Zeref," Goldmine replied referring to the legendary black wizard Zeref.
"Why did the flute turn into a monster?" Lucy asked while looking up at the giant demon.
"That is what Lullaby's true form looks like in the flesh. Its forbidden black magic, Living Magic, Zeref's speciality," Goldmine explained while keeping his eyes on the demon.
"Living Magic?" Erza questioned unfamiliar with that brand of magic.
"Isn't Zeref that ancient wizard?" Gray questioned.
"He's the most evil wizard the world has ever known. He was very powerful in his day, but in my wildest dreams I never thought his dark legacy would pop back up again," Bob replied.
"Now then, which of these delectable souls shall I dine on first," Lullaby asked while glaring down at the gathered wizards and masters since all the Guild Masters who were in the meeting hall had run out once the demon had appeared.
"We won't let you harm any innocent soul you foul demon," Erza called out in defiance. Gray and Elfman stood at her shoulders while Lucy looked on from the back with the Guild Masters. Lullaby let out a screech that deafened the group of mages while it prepared to attack.
"Ready?" Erza asked the two beside her before re-equipping twin swords and dashing towards the demon quickly followed by Gray and Elfman as he roared out the word "Manly".
"Re-equip: Heavens Wheel Armour" Erza called out as she donned her silver armour and took flight while slashing at Lullaby across the face with her twin swords gaining a pained scream. A shirtless Gray quickly followed up with a shout of "Ice-Make: Lance", firing multiple curved ice lances at the massive target being rewarded by yet another pained scream. Elfman comes next taking his turn to hit the demon, calling out "Take-over Beast Arm: Iron Bull" transforming is arm into iron and slamming his fist into the demon's cheek making it stumble backwards.
The gathered Guild Masters voiced their surprise at the Fairy Tail mages that were combatting the demon quite effectively praising the spells that the young wizards were using.
"You're making me angry," Lullaby shouted while swinging its arm and destroying the ground where the Fairy Tail mages were just a few moments ago. Erza flew by with another slash while Gray called out "Ice-Make: Arrows" and fired off a barrage of icy arrows. Elfman continued to brutally slam his iron arm onto the demon from every direction.
"That's incredible, their combination attacks are so powerful," Kageyama said in shock while Lucy agreed with him adding that they were insanely powerful.
The battle continued of a minute longer with Lullaby being slashed, slammed and bombarded with ice without being able to hit any of the pesky mages. Suddenly it inhaled a large breath causing panic with the spectators.
"It's preparing to sing its song," Lucy said in a terrified voice. All the Guild Master started to panic except Makarov, Goldmine and Bob. As Lullaby began to play its melody of death only whistles came out, surprising everyone including the demon.
"I don't understand, why can't I play my melody of death?" Lullaby asked in anger.
"All the attacks punched hole throughout its body," Goldmine commented.
"Its sound is messed up because of the holes those lovely wizards made," Bob added.
Lullaby kicked a mountain into pieces in anger and launched a powerful energy beam at the Guild Masters. Gray slid in front of them and called out "Ice-Make: Shield" creating a large ice shield protecting everyone.
"Re-equip: Black Wing Armour" Erza called out as she was covered in a golden glow and when the light died down she was now wearing a new set of armour. The new armour was black with silver trimmings and a distinctive pair of black bat-like wings. Erza had her hair in a high ponytail with two bangs framing her face, a neck guard with multiple gems, large shoulder guards each composed of two silver-edged plates one over the other with silver crosses on them and flanked the high collar of the armour. The silver-edged breastplate revealed a fair amount of her cleavage and stomach with plated flanking her hips and reaching down to the large waist guard that was composed of multiple featherlike plates with silver crosses. She also wears slim gauntlets and thigh-high plated leg guards with pitch-black metal greaves.
Erza slashed once again at the demon causing much greater damage since the armour boosts her offensive power. "Ice-Make: Saucer" Gray called out after Erza cleared from the demon and he launched the spinning, sharp-edged saucer at the demon chipping away quite a decent amount of its wooden body. "Take-over: Beast Arm: Bear" Elfman roared as he used his now bare arm to punch the demon in the chest creating a few cracks.
'I have had enough of you pests," Lullaby roared out. An eerie purple glow surrounded it as it shrunk down to half its original size. The cut-outs on its body disappeared and it gained a more human-like appearance.
"This is bad its power just doubled," Erza said with a bit of fear in her voice.
"I don't think we have enough power to finish this," Gray commented beginning to fee the drain of the fight.
The increase in power had the Guild Masters worried and as Makarov saw the tired expressions on his brats' faces he began thinking about stepping in himself. Before anyone could make a move however the chilling feeling of death descended on the forest.
"What is this feeling?" one of the Masters asked.
"This is the feeling of death," Bob's eyes widened and he started to look around.
"Where is it coming from, could it be Lullaby?" Goldmine asked.
"No, that demon doesn't possess power over death," a cold voice was heard coming from a shadowy patch in the woods. All the Guild Masters, Lucy, Kageyama and Erza turned to where the voice came from.
"That voice, could it be him?" Erza asked herself but she was heard by Gray.
"What do you mean?" Gray asked. As he asked his question a man wearing a grey cloak and black pants with black combat boots came out of the shadows.
"' Death Walker'," Erza said as she recognised the clothes. The man removed his hood revealing his handsome face and pink hair.
"So we meet again 'Titania'," 'Death Walker' replied.
"This is 'Death Walker'?" Goldmine asked looking the young man up and down.
"I am glad you chose the path with no death on it, the dark mage," 'Death Walker' said as he walked past Kageyama. Kageyama was now frightened out of his mind remembering his previous encounter on the train.
"What do you mean young man?" Master Makarov asked 'Death Walker'.
"If you didn't persuade him from using the flute I would have ended his days in the living realm and handed his soul over to the reapers," 'Death Walker' replied while walking past Makarov and towards Lullaby.
"You would have killed a man?" Erza asked with wide eyes.
"Don't you have any idea how valuable life can be?" Lucy yelled in shock.
"I know the meaning of life and death, the true meaning," 'Death Walker' replied.
"I have no time for this nonsense," Lullaby made its presence know one more and fired off another energy beam at the newcomer since he was closest to the demon.
"Death Dragon's Devastating Fist" 'Death Walker' called out and punched the energy beam deflecting it into a nearby mountain.
"What, he deflected that beam?" Gray yelled out in shock. He knew the beam he locked was powerful since he had to hold his ice shield up against it but this one was twice as powerful and this guy just slapped it away.
"Lullaby, you have caused so much death in your past and as the son of the Death Dragon God, Draco Mortem, I Natsu Dragneel, have come to erase you from this realm and ensure your corruption will not spread to others," 'Death Walker', now also known Natsu, declared. The mages and Guild Masters were too focused on the declaration of Draco that no one there heard Natsu's real name.
"Did he say the Death Dragon God? " Lucy asked in shock.
"Who is Draco Mortem," Gray asked with a confused look on his face.
'What was that magic he used, it felt like this young man was controlling death itself,' Makarov though trying to figure out what this new magic was since he had never come across something like this.
"Any last words?" Natsu asked Lullaby.
"You think you can defeat me, pathetic mortal. I am the death song Lullaby," Lullaby called out. Natsu started to power up, covering himself with a purple, black and grey aura.
"What is this feeling?" Erza asked with fear in her eyes while Gray, Elfman and Lucy took a fearful step back.
"It feels like death," Kageyama squeaked out in fear having been in the presence of Erigor when he killed one of his targets in the past.
"Death Dragon God's Forbidden Art: Death's Eternal Embrace," Natsu said in a low voice. Nobody could hear what he said but as the swirling mass of energy formed above Lullaby, the demon got a look of recognition on its face.
"This power, you'reβ¦" Lullaby couldn't finish its sentence since the energy consumed its form. When the energy dissipated there was only the now deathly grey ground where Lullaby once stood.
"He erased the very existence of the demon," Makarov exclaimed in shock at the power this man had.
"'Death Walker', what did you do to the demon?" Erza asked after regaining her composure. After Natsu's final attack everyone was either stunned in fear of the power he displayed or due to the overwhelming feeling of death they felt coming from the spell.
"I simply erased its existence. It has tarnished the sacred concept of death. Now it can never again control when someone has to face death," Natsu answered before walking back to the shadows of the forest.
"I haven't asked all the questions I have for you," Erza said. Natsu however completely ignored her and continued walking. This infuriated Erza and she drew her sword and placed the blade at his neck.
The Guild Masters were too shocked by Erza's actions to do anything and the Fairy Tail mages were too afraid to go against an angered Erza and opted to let the events play out to ensure their personal health.
"Don't you ever learn?" Natsu asked before letting out a burst his magical aura which launched Erza back a few paces.
"Next time you place a blade against my neck I will take it as a threat to my life and respond accordingly and I can't ensure your survival then," Natsu threatened while glaring at her. The glare somehow froze Erza in fear. Natsu sunk into the shadows before anyone could stop him and with his disappearance the aura of death lifted.
"Who was that young man Erza it seems like you have met him before?" Makarov asked once the tense atmosphere created by Erza's actions against the man and his treat dissipated.
"He is known as 'Death Walker', the guy who has been taking out some of the top dark guilds and corrupt officials. Earlier today I had a run-in with him where he kind of saved me from one of Erigor's attacks," Erza replied and continued to give a quick rundown of the events that transpired between them at the train station.
"Is that what you wanted to tell me back there?" Gray asked when she finished remembering she wanted to tell him something before they went to find Kageyama to which he got a nod in conformation.
"So that means he is a good guy right? I mean he saved Erza from Erigor and then he destroyed Lullaby," Lucy said after hearing the story.
"While he does go after some of the more corrupt people he does have a unique way of doing it, with the corrupt officials he would normally just expose them causing them to be sentenced to prison but with some of the more notorious dark guild he has been known to leave a few bodies with the rest of the guild for the rune knights to pick up," Master Makarov explained.
"What, he killed them?" Lucy asked shocked.
"Yes, and as you heard Kageyama was very close to joining the list of people he killed. I know they were ad people but everyone deserves a second chance," Erza replied this time.
"It's not manly to kill people," Elfman said.
"The thing I still don't fully understand is when he said he understood the true meaning of life and death, does he want to imply that we don't?" Master Makarov asked but didn't expect an answer as the only one who could truly answer that question was the man who uttered those words himself.
"I don't see how he can say that when he never gives them a second chance," Erza huffed. The Fairy Tail guild has an unspoken rule to never kill a defeated enemy under any circumstances and that everyone deserved a second chance.
The other Guild Masters attempted to go back to the meeting hall only to see that where I once was, now only had the deathly grey ground that was left after 'Death Walker's' last attack.
"For once I don't have to pay," Master Makarov cried tears of joy when he realised his brats didn't destroy the meeting hall.
The gathered mages and masters soon went their separate ways with Makarov telling Kageyama to think about his actions and then thinking about where he would go from here before handing him over to the authorities.
The day went by with the Fairy Tail mages walking back home and not taking the train since Oshibana station was still undergoing repairs. The news about the Eisenwald attack quickly spread and soon everyone was talking about it. The reports said that all the Eisenwald members were taken into custody.
-The Fairy Tail Guild Hall-
When the group returned to the guildhall everything was surprisingly calm for a day at Fairy Tail.
"Hello, Master I hope nothing too bad happened with the whole Eisenwald thing in Clover Town," Mirajane greeted Makarov and the rest of the returning mages.
"Nothing bad per se happened but we had a run-in with 'Death Walker'," Master Makarov replied.
"What happened with him, there is very little information about him," Mirajane asked.
"The Magic Council would like to know that as well. Master Makarov, we have reported that Erza Scarlet had been in contact with the man known as 'Death Walker' and we are here to bring her in for questioning," a rune knight said as he suddenly opened the guild doors and was followed in y ten more knights.
"Did I hear my name?" Erza asked as she turned around in her chair at the bar where she was eating a strawberry cheesecake.
"Yes, Erza the Magic Council wants to question you about your run-in with 'Death Walker'," Makarov replied while gesturing to the rune knights.
"We don't really have the option to deny this request do we?" Erza asked rhetorically saddened that she could not enjoy the peaceful day.
"Let's get going then," Erza told the rune knights as she walked to the exit.
There you go, Chapter 4 is completed. The pairing for this story is Natsu and Ultear. So the next chapter will begin with Erza's meeting with the Magic Council and the events that will transpire there and after that, the Galuna Island Arc will start. Feel free to leave a review and let me know your thought about the story so far. I know that Natsu hasn't been too prevalent yet but I will give him more screen time soon. See you all in the next chapter of the tale of 'The wandering Death Dragon God Slayer.'
