The Night Fury flew down toward the entrance of the mountain temple. Retracting both it's black wings, the creature of the night flew in through the narrow entrance between two stone pillars. Hiccup glanced down and saw what appeared to be a large nest of branches, foliage and stone.

"Oh, no, no, no!" Hiccup exclaimed, shaking his head.

The Night Fury flew down to the nest and released Hiccup from the hold of his two front paws. Hiccup landed in the nest, rolling over onto his side. He glanced up at the Night Fury, who flew overhead into the shadows beyond the moons light. Hiccup got back up quickly, he glanced around the inside of the temple. But it was too dark to see anything Too. Nor the creature that had brought him here.

It was quiet for the most part. Too quiet for comfort.

"Where am I?" he said, glancing around the temple.

There was a sudden sound of tumbling stones. Hiccup gasped as he glanced in the direction of the sound. Slowly, he backed away. When suddenly he heard a cracking sound from under foot. He glanced down and saw he was standing over the bones of what appeared to be fish.

"Oh, Thor!" he exclaimed.

Hiccup turned as he backed away, gazing down in awe over the floor of the nest. Seeing the bones of fish and other animals the beast may have hunted over the years.

"I got to find a way out of here." Hiccup said to himself.

Hiccup then peered up at the opening above, where he saw the moon peering from overhead. It's bright light shining down over the nest.

"Looks like a way out," he said to himself.

"But there's nothing to climb."

Hiccup one more glanced down and scanned the opened temple plaza. He glanced to his right and then he froze, peering up at the wall of which was revealed by the moons light. It was there that he saw a hieroglyph of what appeared to depict what looked to be a maruvian woman and a man with facial hair and horns over top his head. Hiccup widened his eyes in realization.

"Modolf?" He whispered to himself.

It was him. It was the same depiction of the Viking chief as the Hieroglyphs back at the ruins. Standing in front of what looked to be that of the night fury.

He stepped forward, slowly. Peering up at what looked to be him, he noticed the Viking chief holding out his hand to the beast. He squinted his eyes, curiously. What was he doing?

But as he continued to peer up at the temple hieroglyphs, it was unannounced to him that he was being watched from the shadows. Watching from a high ledge, the Night Fury peered down at the young man. He glanced up at the hieroglyphs of Moldolf and the Night Fury that was once his ancestor. Seeing the carving of Moldolf, the beast uttered a low growl.

It had to be him. The young human he had found back at the ruins had to be the one carved in stone. The one chance he would ever have to live up to his long passed ancestor.

Elena and Skylar flew up to the side of the temple. Elena got off of her brother's back as she came up to the corner of the temple. She peered around the corner and saw the entrance of the temple across the way where the Night Fury had disappeared into. Skylar came up from behind her.

"You see anything?" she whispered to her.

Elena shook her head.

"No." she said coming around the corner.

"They must be somewhere inside." Skylar insisted to her.

Elena came back around the corner. She glanced back at her little brother, smirking.

"Good thing we have another way of finding out." She proclaimed to him.

Elena took several steps from the temple, pulling out her scepter. She then turned and pointed it at the wall.

"Reveal!" she said.

Her scepter shot a beam of magic over the wall and without damaging it, came to reveal what lied inside the temple. It was there that they saw Hiccup, standing in what appeared to be a large nest of some kind. Elena uttered a sigh of relief to see that he was safe.

"He's okay!" she proclaimed to her brother.

Skylar came up to the opening. Peering inside the temple, the Jaquin squinted his eyes, curiously. Noticing there was something missing.

"But where's the Night Fury?" Skylar asked, glancing to her.

Elena frowned upon realizing for herself. She scanned along the wall with her scepter, peering to what lied within. The came up to where the statue stood, where she noticed two black wings at the end of a long tail. Elena stopped upon seeing the tail. Raised her scepter, revealing the top of the statue where the Night Fury.

Elena and Skylar both gasped.

The Night Fury quietly climbed down the statue and came up to it's nest. Hiccup continued to stare up at the hieroglyphs. When suddenly he heard a rustling sound from behind. He glanced back and saw a black dragon-like creature crawl into the nest. Hiccup gasped as he turned to the Night Fury.

He backed away, holding up his hands to the beast.

"Uh... no," Hiccup said, nervously.

"No... please don't eat me."

The Night fury peered up at Hiccuo, cocking it's head curiously. Seeing him holding up his hand, he glanced back up at the hieroglyph of Moldolf, who was holding out his hand to his ancestor. He must be doing the same thing. Toothless approached Hiccup, intending to form the bond so that he may finally live up to his ancestor.

Elena and Skylar gasped, seeing the boy was corner by the Night Fury.

"Oh no!" she exclaimed.

"He's in trouble!"

"We've got to get in there!" Skylar insisted.

Elena nodded her head in agreement.

"Right." she proclaimed.

She then lowered her staff, ceasing it's power of foresight. She then held it up once more before uttering one of the few words to use it's many abilities.

"Blaze!"

The top of the scepter the blasted the temple wall.

There was a massive explosion from behind. Hiccup gasped as he and the Night Fury shielded themselves as a cloud of dust swept into the plaza. The guardian of the night glance back at the opening of bright moon light, growling as it bears it's fangs to the intruders of it's territory. It was then that Hiccup heard a voice.

"Skylar, distract the Night Fury!"

"You got it, sis."

Hiccup glanced up, squinting his eyes, curiously. The voices sounded like they were from a girl and a guy. But neither of them sounded like Astrid or Fishlegs. They sounded more Latino. But that didn't sound like Dr. Mandoza or anyone else he knew as part of the expedition.

"Hey, you!" One of the voices called from above.

Hiccup and the Night Fury peered up and saw what appeared to be a jaguar with the wings of a macaw. But it was hard to see with the cloud of dust. Hiccup gazed up in awe.

"Is that a... Jaquin?" He said.

It was then the Night Fury shot a plasma bolt at the intruder. Skylar quickly dodged the plazma blast.

"Hey, what what your shooting those!" Skylar proclaimed as he flew off.

The Night Fury growled as it leaped into the air and chased after it. The two flew around the temple as one pursued the other. All the while, The Night Fury continued to blast at the intruder, who continued to dodge every attempt and caused them to strike against the walls of the temple. The whole plaza continued to filled with the clouds of duct from the fallen rubble.

This whole looked like it was about to come down. He had to get out of here.

Hiccup glanced around for the way out. When suddenly, he noticed something in the mist. It looked like it was moving toward him. But it didn't look like the beast that captured him. Nor the Jaquin he saw.

Before Hiccup could get a good look at who it was, it was then that he felt a hand grab his and pull him along.

"Come on." They said, pulling him along.

Elena pulled Hiccup along to the clutter of branches and vegetation that made up the sides of the nest. They climbed up over the sides of the nest and jumped down onto the plaza below.

"This way!" Elena proclaimed as she continued to pull him along.

The two came outside the temple, where they came to the stair way. They then heard the beast roar from inside the temple. The two glanced back at the temple.

"Skylar!" Elena called out to her brother.

Skylar heard Elena call for him from outside the temple. She must have gotten out with the boy.

"That's my que." he Proclaimed.

He glanced back to the Night Fury, who flew toward him. A bright purple light shined from it's open jaws. Just as it was about to blast him, Skylar zipped passed him quickly and disappeared into the cloud of dust below. The Night Fury roared as it flew after it. It came down and landed at the centre of it's nest. It glanced around the temple and as the dust had cleared, he found that the entire temple was deserted.

The intruders were gone.

And so is...

The Night Fury widened it's eyes in realization.

He was gone!

Hiccup and Elena came down the temple steps to the jungle below. They then ran ahead into the jungle, just as it was that Night Fury appeared from the entrance. The Guardian of the Night let out a massive roar that echoed through the mountain canyon.
