The Night Fury flew down over the top of one of the mountains. He landed over the high mountain top, gazing out over the valley. He had been searching for some time through the night. But there has been no sign of Moldolf anywhere. Nor the intruders who had invaded his nest and had taken him.
The chance he had to live up to his ancestor, stolen by one of those winged creatures of the valley. The same ones as those he had seen carved into the walls of the temple. He had never encountered the jaquins before and had always kept himself. As too did the Jaquins. Yet after years of peace with them, they dared to come and steal from him.
As the Night Fury continued to stare out over the valley, it was then that he felt a warm bright light against his black scales. He turned back to the east, where he saw the sun rising in the distance. It was already morning. It was usually about the time he would return to his temple. But not this time.
Not until he would find the Moldof's descendent and finally be the Guardian his ancestor was long ago. Spreading it's large black wing, it then leaped into the air and flew off over the valley.
Elena was fast asleep against the trunk of a tree, leaning up against Skylar who slept next to her. Hiccup sat across from them, sleeping against one of the other trees. He then utter a faint groan, before suddenly opening his eyes as he came awake. He leaned up against the tree as he gave a loud yawn, stretching out his arms.
"Fishlegs," He groaned, rubbing the back of his head.
"Astrid?"
Though as he glanced up and saw Elena and Skylar sleeping across from him, all of his realization came to him.
"Or Jungle girl and her jaguar," he corrected himself.
"Her talking Jaguar who has wings and can fly."
He groaned, narrowing his head as he placed his hand atop his forehead. Everything that had happened the night before, being captured by a large dragon like creature. Only to then be rescued by some jungle girl with her winged jaguar. None of it was a dream.
It was all real.
"I can't believe this." He said to himself.
He then turned his head, glancing out into clearing outside the foliage. He stood up from the tree and walked over to the foliage, peering ahead toward the opening between the jungle. All the while, he wondered if Astrid and the others were out looking for him. Though the question was would they be able to find him this far into the valley.
"I hope Astrid and the others are okay," He said, glancing to the side.
"Especially with that..."
It was then that the dragon from last night then came to mind. He was wondering if it still out there searching for them?
"I need to find Astrid and the others," Hiccup proclaimed.
"But I have no idea where I am. How am I suppose to find them?"
Though as he thought of their predicament, it was then that he heard a sudden groaning from behind. He turned back to Elena, who leaned up up off the tree. She then yawned and stretched out her arms. She then looked down at her brother, who stretched out his front legs and yawned.
He then looked back up at her.
"Morning, sis." Skylar said.
"Good morning, Skylar." Elena said, petting the top of his head.
Hiccup came up to the two.
"Looks whose up," Hiccup said.
"Elena, was it?"
Glancing up to Hiccup, the jaquin princess suddenly gasped and quickly stood up. Brushing back her hair, she turned to face him, grinning.
"Hi..." she said, raising her hand to him.
"Hiccup, right?"
"Uh, yeah," Hiccup said, raising his hand to her.
"So uh... thanks for saving me yesterday."
Elena glanced away from him, smiling as her cheeks turned red. She brushed her hair behind her hair, nodding her head to him.
"Well, it wasn't all me." she insisted to him
It was then that Skylar leaped up and came up next to his sister.
"That's right," Skylar proclaimed.
"It was all the brother, sister duo!"
Hearing the Jaquin speak, Hiccup groaned as he narrowed his head. He was still not used to this whole mystical creatures speaking to him.
"Right," Hiccup said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Listen, I need your help to find my friends. They could be in danger with that thing out there and since your... uh... brother can fly..."
Skylar shook his head as he came up between Hiccup and Elena.
"Wow, wow, hold on there, amigo," The Jaquin said.
"This jaquin is a solo passenger. And that's reserved for my big sister."
Skylar raised his left wing and patted Elena over her back. The Jaquin princess smiled down at her brother.
"And besides, my wing is still a bit sprang from last night," Skylar proclaimed, stretching out his right wing.
"I don't think I'll be able to fly anyone out of here. Let alone two people."
Hiccup sighed, narrowing his head as he glanced to the side.
"Well so much for that idea." he said to himself.
"Do you two at least know where we are?"
Elena then glanced back up at Hiccup. She glanced to the side as she pondered. These last few days were the first time in a while that she had been outside Vallestrella. She had only been to the valley only a handful of times and she had never been to these mountains before.
"I-I'm not sure, really," she proclaimed to him.
"I haven't really been to this to this mountain pass before."
Hiccup gazed back toward the foliage, where he had seen the pathway.
"I saw a pass behind those bushes," Hiccup proclaimed, pointing back toward the foliage.
"I think it might lead somewhere. Hopefully back to the ruins."
Hiccup came over to the bushes. brushing it aside as he cleared the way. Elena and Skylar came up and saw the stone pathway which separated the jungle. Elena gasped in realization. If there was a Marivian temple, then that must mean that the path might lead back to the ruins.
"You right," she proclaimed to him.
"We should follow it!"
"Wait, what about that thing?" Hiccup reminded her.
"What if it's still looking for us?"
"Don't worry about it." Skylar said, coming up from behind.
"Skylar's right, Hiccup," Elena proclaimed to him.
"The Night Fury only comes out at night. It probably went back to it's temple."
As Elena and Skylar both trudged through the bushes, Hiccup stood motionless in awe at the mention of Night Fury. Hiccup shock his head, squinting his eyes curiously. Did she just say Night Fury? As in the Dragon told in all the myths of his Viking heritage?
That thing that had abducted him the night before, that was the Night Fury?
Hiccup trudged through the foliage and came out into the clearing. He came up behind Elena and Skylar.
"Hang on, did you say Night Fury?" Hiccup asked, curiously.
