mauricio11: Hope you enjoy this chapter and I'm glad you liked the backstory for Bickslow.
Amanny: Glad that backstory could pull some of your heartstrings. I enjoyed coming up with interesting spells for Mystogan since we never really see any.
ZhenieQT: Glad you have a good relationship with your girlfriend. I put up a poll for giving Natsu more mates since quite a few people asked for it. As for what you said, I can agree with everything you said there and it would fit quite nicely in this story.
Vincent blames: Hope you have a great birthday. The next update will take a bit longer than normal since I want to update my newest story first before going back to the two I already have. Gald you are enjoying this story.
KageForce: Glad you are enjoying it.
-In Kardia Cathedral-
"I never took Mystogan for a fool, but seems like I was wrong," Laxus said with a laugh as Mystogan disappeared along with the two other Dragon Slayers' chances of victory.
"I hate to ask this but would you mind helping me in taking down Laxus?" Haru asked his fellow Slayer as they both landed on the ground.
"However much I want to settle things with sparky over there alone, he ain't messing around. I guess we got no choice but to fight him as a team," Gajeel agreed.
"Team up or come at me one at a time, the results will be the same. I will stand at the top, and the two of you will be dead at my feet," Laxus said as he gathered power in his mouth. "Lightning Dragon Roar" Laxus called out as he sent a massive torrent of lightning at the two younger Slayers.
"Iron Dragon Roar", "Fire Dragon Roar" Gajeel and Haru both called out and sent a mixture of fire and iron at the torrent of lightning. The battle for dominance was over quickly as Haru and Gajeel had to jump to the side when they saw the lightning overpowering their combined attack.
"Just how strong is this guy?" Gajeel asked as he dashed to Laxus' side and called out "Iron Dragon Club", transforming his hand into an iron pole and extending it into Laxus' side with great force, sending the bigger man skidding to the right where Haru stood waiting.
"Not strong enough to defeat two Dragon Slayers," Haru answered as he lit both hands on fire. "Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame" Haru called out as he brought his hands together and threw the massive ball of flame at Laxus.
"Lightning Dragon Jaw" Laxus called out as he joined the bottom of his hand together before closing his hands like a creature's jaw. A mass of lightning sprang from his hands and consumed the ball of fire. The resulting explosion screened Laxus from Haru and Gajeel's views. "Lightning Dragon Iron Hammer" Laxus called out and slammed his fist into the ground. Haru and Gajeel didn't have any time to dodge the torrent of lightning that exploded from the ground beneath them.
"You weaklings think you can defeat me?" Laxus roared out as lightning crackled around him. He turned his attention to Haru who last tried to attack him. A grin grew on his face as he saw the confused look on Haru's face.
"Having trouble figuring out why you can't move? Have you ever thought what would happen if bolts of lightning would rush through you?" Laxus asked with his grin widening.
"Paralysis?" Haru asked as realisation dawned on him as to why he was unable to move. He managed to twitch his fingers and quickly figured out that the paralysis was only temporary. 'If I can get him to talk I can get out of this without a problem,' Haru thought.
Seems like you're not a complete idiot, not that it would have helped you when you decided to face me," Laxus said with his grin as he began surrounding his fist in lightning.
"Why are you even doing this? There are easier ways to become the master of Fairy Tail," Haru said as he felt that he was able to move his hands.
"Haven't you heard the smack people have been talking about Fairy Tail recently?" Laxus asked as a scowl formed on his face and the lightning around his fist increased.
"What do you mean?" Haru asked, genuinely confused.
"I shouldn't be surprised that you never heard about it. The talk of the magic world right now is how Fairy Tail needs that 'Death Walker' guy to accomplish anything. That one guy needed to save your arses quite a few times recently. So word on the street is that Fairy Tail is falling from grace. Now I don't know about you but I simply can't stand that. The problem, as I see it, is the old man doesn't prioritise strength. One example is that he let that weak blond join, and for that Phantom attacked and you weaklings needed 'Death Walker' to clean up your mess." Laxus explained as his face contorted in anger.
"Fairy Tail is a family where everyone is welcomed," Haru shouted as his arms regained their feeling and motion, but with what Laxus just said he forgot about his plan to stall.
"Then he let those two Phantom freaks join. Once I'm the Guild Master, Fairy Tail will be a guild to be feared, no one will ever badmouth us ever again. And the first thing we should do is through those weaklings out, they only joined the guild to piggyback on our reputation and enjoy an easy life," Laxus said as electric sparks filled the area around him.
"What's wrong with you, Fairy Tail's strength comes from the bonds we form. Like Gramps says, today's enemies can be tomorrow's friends. Just like with Gajeel and Juvia, they are part of the guild and part of our family. You will never be the Guild Master if you don't understand that," Haru shouted in anger.
"What do you know punk, now why don't you shut up and die," Laxus shouted and created a massive bolt of lightning in his hand. "Lightning Dragon Piercing Bolt" Laxus shouted in rage as he threw the bolt at Haru. Haru, still under the effects of the paralysis wasn't able to dodge but decided to face it with a brave face, looking Laxus in the eyes.
"You aren't dying on me now Salamander, not before I have my rematch," Gajeel said. "Iron Dragon Lance" Gajeel called out and stabbed his arm turned lance into the ground following that up by calling out "Iron Dragon Club" and extending his other arm turned club towards Haru.
Haru and Laxus' eyes widened in surprise as the bolt of lightning veered off course and flowed through Gajeel. He let out a pained scream as the electric current rushed through him but he stayed standing.
"You idiot, you took the hit for him instead of taking a free shot at me, this is why you are all weak," Laxus laughed as he turned his head to Gajeel.
"You think just because he helped someone out he's weak?" Haru asked as he stood up, released from the paralysis. "Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade" Haru called out as he swiped his arms in a circular fashion and released a powerful torrent of highly destructive flames that sent Laxus flying into a wall of the cathedral.
"This is payback for the cheap shots you took in the park," Gajeel yelled as he clapped his hands above his head and called out "Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Karma Demon: Iron God Sword". A gigantic iron sword formed from his joined hands and brimmed with power. Gajeel brought the blade down on Laxus just as he clawed himself out of the wall and embedded him in the ground.
"Thanks for the save," Haru said with a grin towards Gajeel.
"Don't mention it," Gajeel said. 'I owed you one for what you said,' Gajeel said to himself. He was grateful for Haru's acceptance of him and Juvia into the guild, not that he would ever say it out loud.
"Guess the Thunder Palace should dispel any moment now," Haru said as he looked out of one of the multiple holes in the cathedral's roof. A frown formed on his face as he saw the lacrima in the sky begin crackling with lightning as if they were about to release.
"Those attacks might have been strong, but I'm on an entirely different level," Laxus said as he stood up from the ground with barely any scratches.
-With Mira and Ultear-
Ultear was running beside Mira with the sphere of death Natsu gave her floating above her hand.
"We should be able to get a direct line of sight to all the lacrima around this corner, hopefully, there are a few other wizards as well to lessen the load of the organic link magic in the lacrima," Mira said as they rounded a corner only to be met by a peculiar sight.
"Is it just me or is the sky filled with flying swords?" Ultear asked as she saw at least a hundred swords floating in the sky with new ones popping into existence every so often.
"Seems like Erza is already preparing to deal with the Thunder Palace," Mira giggled as the red-haired knight came into view. Erza was in her Heavens Wheel Armour and she had a strained look on her face.
"Now, now, Erza, it isn't good to overexert yourself like this, let us help you out," Mira said with a smile as the two approached Erza.
"Mira, Ultear, what are the two of you doing here, and why are you together?" Erza asked as she momentarily stopped summoning sword.
"Mira is here to help her guildmate while I am here for my own personal reasons," Ultear said in a dismissive tone, indicating that she wouldn't be going into detail on her reasons.
"Whatever it is I'll gladly accept the help," Erza said with a smile. Surprise took over her face as she saw Mira enter her Satan Soul and Ultear holding up a ball of magic that felt eerily similar to Natsu's magic.
"Mira, you can use your magic again?" Erza asked in surprise. She was happy for her old rival and long-time friend, seeing that she finally overcame the trauma that followed her for the past two years.
"To protect my family I will overcome anything that stands in my way," Mira said with a determined smile.
"Four powerful wizards joining together to free the city that has been taken hostage," a male voice said from behind Erza. The three girls look to where the voice originated from only to see a cloud of mist. A man materialised from the mist, covered from head to toe in robes.
"Mystogan, weren't you facing Laxus?" Erza asked.
"I left that fight to our two Dragon Slayers," Mystogan replied.
"The more the merrier," Ultear said in a sarcastic tone. She wasn't opposed to helping the citizens of Magnolia out, but that didn't mean she was happy to be working with so many Fairy Tail members. Working for the Council and a Dark Guild, you pick up some animosity to the Light Guild.
"Erza, will you take the north, Mira the south, I will take the west, and if you would take the east with the power you hold that would be appreciated," Mystogan said as he gave everyone directions. He recognised the power resonating from Ultear's sphere as that belonging to 'Death Walker'.
'This woman has some connection to him, so I will accept that she is here to help,' Mystogan reasoned, thankful for someone who could wield the power of that man backing them up.
'Out of all the Fairies, Mystogan is the one there is barely any information about. Let's see why Natsu is interested in him,' Ultear thought as she gave her response with a nod.
"Ensure that you are all prepared for the organic link magic's rebound after we destroy the lacrima," Mystogan said.
"Do any of you know telepathy so we can stay in contact?" Erza asked wanting a backup plan if someone isn't able to take out all of their respective lacrima. Everyone shook their heads in the negative at that.
"If we meet Warren somewhere we can just ask him," Mira suggested.
'No need to find me,' the Fairy Tail mages heard a voice in their minds. Ultear was confused t the smiles she saw forming on Mira and Erza's faces.
"Warren contacted us," Mystogan explained as he saw the confusion on Ultear's face. Ultear gave him a grateful smile in thanks.
'Great, can you reach anyone else?' Erza mentally asked Warren.
'I'm here with him,' Gray's voice sounded in their minds.
'I'll see if I can find anyone else, what should I say if I find them?' Warren asked.
'Laxus has a spell named Thunder Palace, let's just say if we don't deal with it Magnolia will be razed to the ground. Currently, Mystogan, Mira Ultear and I are each taking a side of the town each. Distribute whoever you find to each location,' Erza instructed.
'Wait Ultear is there, why?' Gray asked.
'She said she has her reasons and that is all we will get out of her sadly,' Erza answered with a sigh.
'Where is Ultear going?' Gray asked.
'East' the simple reply came from Erza. She was sure that Gray volunteered to go with Ultear because of her connection to Ur.
"Let's move out," Erza said, making sure that Warren and Gray could also hear. Ultear, Mystogan and Mira all nodded and made their way to their respective areas.
Ultear began pouring some of her magic into the sphere of death, causing tendrils to form from it as a smile formed on her face. 'It's amazing how our magic brands are so compatible," Ultear thought with a smile.
"Ultear," a voice called to her. A voice she didn't want to hear. A voice belonging to someone she still blames for her past. She wouldn't take revenge like she would have before she met Natsu but that didn't change the fact that she didn't like the person the voice belonged to.
"Gray," Ultear said in a monotone voice as she kept on making her way to her position.
"Wait up, I have some questions for you," Gray said as he tried to catch up with her. Even though Ultear knew that he would catch up with her once she reached her destination that didn't mean she wouldn't increase her speed hoping that he would give up.
"Oi, wait up," Gray yelled as he saw her dashing away. Unfortunately for Ultear thought, Fairy Tail mages are notoriously stubborn and Gray followed her until she finally reached her destination.
"Why do you keep running?" Gray demanded once he finally caught up to Ultear.
"If you haven't noticed, a power-hungry maniac is attempting to fry this entire town," Ultear said sarcastically.
"You know what I meant. Will you tell me where Ur is?" Gray asked.
"I have nothing to say to you and if you came here just to talk then I suggest you get out of my way," Ultear said as she turned to look at him with a stern expression.
"Fine, but after we deal with this I will get some answers," Gray said as he took his Ice-Make stance. Ultear scoffed at his comment and turned her back on him and focused on the lacrima in the sky.
'Everyone ready?' Erza's voice sounded in Gray's mind. A multitude of voices answered her.
'On my mark, we launch our attacks. Now,' Erza commanded.
"Ice-Make: Lance" Gray called out and sent multiple icy lances at as many lacrima as he could manage. Seeing Gray launch his attack Ultear released a burst of magic and directed it into the ball of death magic.
"The ripples of Time reach through the power of Death: Endearing Reach of Death" Ultear called out. From the ball of purple, grey and black, a blast of magic originated and multiple tendrils raced to the lacrima in the sky.
If one was to view the town of Magnolia from the hills surrounding the town, you would see sparks of lightning surrounding hundreds of lacrima in the airspace above the town. Then a myriad of magical attacks rushing from the surface below. A combination of all sorts of magic, from the power originating from Mystogan's staves to the multiple swords Erza summoned. Blasts of elemental magic from demonic to ice and even an attack using the awe-inspiring power of Death itself.
The skyline above Magnolia lit up in a spectacular show of explosions, showering down the remnants of the attacks in a beautiful display of power. Cheers rose from the streets before lightning began striking all over the town. The citizens of Magnolia would be thankful for their saviours if they had known the danger they were in.
Ultear watched in fascination as the last of the death orb Natsu gave her began covering her form in a protective layer. A powerful strike of lightning engulfed Gray and he let out a pained scream. Ultear awaited her turn to receive the recoil due to the Organic Link magic on the lacrima, however, when the yellow bolt of lightning struck her she watched in fascination as it turned to a deep purple colour before branching out and covering the sky in a brilliant show of purple lightning, illuminating the evening sky in a purple hue and leaving a slight feeling of death in the air.
-In Kardia Cathedral-
"How about I show you puny Dragon Slayers what a true Dragon Slayer Secret Art looks like," Laxus said with a mad grin as a look of fear invaded Haru and Gajeel's faces. "Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Roaring Thunder" Laxus called out as he punched his lightning engulfed fist towards the two younger Slayers. A large amount of lightning was released from his fist and engulfed Haru and Gajeel. The force from the blow threw the electrocuted mages into a wall of the cathedral, causing a massive cloud of dust to rise.
"You are way too weak to face me," Laxus said as he turned around and muttered out a spell.
-Fairy Tail Guild Hall-
Makarov had tried to get any sort of information pertaining to 'Death Walker' from Ur but sadly she didn't seem to know much. Ur knew that Natsu wanted to keep information about himself to a minimum, and it helped her that she was still trying to learn more about him herself so she didn't know much, to begin with. Ur was happy to oblige with Makarov's conversation as she knew he was worried about his guild members, so any form of distraction was helpful.
"Ready to give up old man?" Laxus' voice sounded from behind the worried Master of Fairy Tail.
"I already told you Laxus, stop with this nonsense," Makarov said as he turned to look at the thought projection of his grandson.
"I don't think you understand, everyone you sent to face me is defeated, Thunder Palace is ready to be released on the town and the only way I will stop this is if you relinquish the title of Guild Master over to me," Laxus said with a vicious grin.
"Thunder Palace, are you out of your mind?" Makarov shouted in anger and surprise.
"The choice is all yours, old man," Laxus said as the thought projection faded away with Laxus letting out a laugh.
"You will pay for this Laxus. When I get my hands on you…" Makarov began before grabbing his chest and collapsing. Ur and Levy immediately dashed to the Makarov's side.
"Do you have any healer's or anything near?" Ur asked seriously. She quickly placed a hand on the Guild Master's forehead and felt that he was burning up
"Porlyusica is the best healer, it's a god thing Lucy brought Jet back. I'll see if he can fetch her," Levy said as she quickly went to where the brown-haired man was recovering.
"Good, now let's see if I can at least manage some magic," Ur said too herself as she hovered her hands above Makarov's small frame. She concentrated on the feeling she remembered she felt whenever she used her magic. A bead of sweat started forming on her forehead as she tried to manifest even the smallest amount of magic to cool Makarov down a bit until the healer could get here.
A small smile formed on Ur's face as a light blue hue radiated from her hands and she could see Makarov's pained expression lessen, even if it was only slightly.
-With Laxus-
'The old fool still doesn't want to relent. Guess there is only one option left,' Laxus thought. He stretched his arms out while and looked towards the sky.
"From the sky, Lightning and Thunder resonates, to the ground it strikes, I am the lord of the element of Lightning. Thunder Palace" Laxus chanted the words to activate his devastating spell.
Soon the sounds of explosions could be heard coming from outside but something was off. Laxus was unable to feel the static energy that should be in the air. Laxus looked out of one of the many holes in the cathedral only to see the remains of the lacrima and multiple different kinds of magic raining down on the town harmlessly in a beautiful rain followed by the faint shouts of pained screams and finished off by a web of purple coloured lightning spreading across the sky.
Anger and rage overtook Laxus' mind. His muscles bulged even more and his pupils dilated to specs. Haru and Gajeel managed to stand up all be it shakily. The two Dragon Slayers put on a brave face and smiled in the face of their advisory while Haru covered his hands in fire and Gajeel transformed one of his hands into a lance and the other in an iron beam.
"Seems like your plan failed, like all who stand against Fairy Tail," Haru said with a grin.
"And you're next bastard," Gajeel said. With that, the two Slayers charged the deranged Laxus. Laxus let out an enraged roar and discharged electric bolts all around him, sending the two skidding back. Laxus hunched over and hovered one hand over the other with his palms facing one another. Gajeel and Haru were forced onto the ground by the immense magic pressure Laxus was exerting ad a bright yellow, almost golden glow began emanating from the space between Laxus' hands.
'Why does this feel so much like one of Gramps' spells?' Haru wondered.
'What is this insane magic?' Gajeel started to worry. This power was something that would have rivalled something coming from a Wizard Saint-level mage.
"This can't be…" Haru started as he realised what this spell was.
"Seems like you know this spell, one of the Three Great Fairy Spells, Fairy Law," Laxus confirmed Haru's worst fears.
"What the heck is Fairy Law?" Gajeel asked.
"Let me educate you before you perish metal-head. Fairy Law is a spell that evirates anyone I see as my enemy," Laxus said with a laugh as terror overtook Gajeel's face.
"Laxus stop," Levy shouted from the entrance of the cathedral as Laxus gathered even more power.
"Idiot, what are you doing here?" Gajeel asked, afraid for the petite bluenette's safety.
"The master doesn't have much time left. Porlyusica said that he is on his death bed. Your grandfather is close to death," Levy said as tears formed in her eyes. The power Laxus was building up ceased for a moment as the Fairy Tail mages took in those words. Their beloved Master was going to die.
"Wonderful, with that old fool on death's door, I have an even easier path to being Fairy Tail's Master," Laxus said with a grin. Shock filled the minds and souls of the three Fairy Tail mages.
"This will be the dawn of a new era," Laxus said. The shocked eyes of the Fairy Tail mages stuck to his form. Golden yellow light filling the cathedral with only minute amounts of purple invading from the holes.
"I'll rebuild everything from the ground up. I'll form the ultimate guild," Laxus continued. Tendrils of black and grey sprouted from the purple light and invaded the golden yellow filled room.
"One so powerful all will tremble at our name," Laxus roared out. Levy, being the furthest away first noticed the purple, black and grey aura that was busy consuming the golden yellow light. That was also when she felt a new power coming from behind her. The half-opened doors exploded as an apparition of what could only be described as Death incarnate stalked into the cathedral.
"I invoke Fairy Law" Laxus called out as he slammed his palms together. A loud gong of a bell could be heard all over the town with all the mages of Fairy Tail recognising the spell after seeing the beam of golden yellow light that ascended to the heaven that originated from the cathedral. And all who weren't sure was convinced as a massive magic circle appeared above the cathedral with the Fairy Tail insignia in the middle.
-With Erza-
'This is bad, Makarov would never use that spell on Laxus, so who cast it,' Erza thought as she watched with a bit of fear in her eyes as she began realising who was the caster as she laid on the ground, barely conscious.
-With Mira-
'Fairy Law, but how?' Mira wondered before concern filled her eyes as she followed a line of thought similar to Erza's as she leaned on a nearby wall, clutching one to consciousness with what was left of her power.
-With Mystogan-
'Let magic show the truth in your heart, Laxus,' Mystogan thought as he stood and watched with a face devoid of emotion as the spell activated.
-With Ultear and Gray-
Gray was too terrified to form and fatigue any concrete thought as he saw Master Makarov's ultimate judgement spell being used and knowing it wasn't Master Makarov himself who cast it.
Ultear, on the other hand, had a loving smile on her face as she saw something no one else saw. She saw the volatile energy that surrounded the golden yellow beam of light. She was the maelstrom of purple, black and grey. She saw Natsu's power.
-With Natsu-
'This feels similar to what I felt around her, yet this feels more refined,' Natsu thought as he allowed even more of his magic to pour out of him. The anger he felt due to the words Laxus said would not consume him and it would not guide him. No, he would use it as a battery to fuel his power to perform his duty.
Natsu opened his mouth and started inhaling. The golden yellow light dimmed as the sound of slurping filled the cathedral. Gajeel and Haru's eyes widened as they heard someone consuming an element, something only Slayers are capable of, yet they were unable to see since they were completely surrounded by the light of Fairy Law. Levy watched in amazement as the golden light began to die down and funnel its way towards the apparition of Death.
The light died down, only leaving an eerie purple hue. Laxus watched in confusion as he saw that none of the Fairy Tail mages were harmed, and he was even more confused when he saw something else standing in the cathedral door, but he pushed that to back of his mind for ow. The thing was shrouded by dust and that eerie purple hue.
"What's this, how the hell are you all still alive?" Laxus questioned the three mages. Haru looked at his hands in awe, seeing that he was no worse for wear compared to how he was before the spell.
"Levy, are you all right?" Gajeel asked as he looked towards the bluenette. When he didn't get an answer something within him started to panic. He stood up on shaky legs and walked over to the girl who had her back to him. When he placed a hand on her shoulder she flinched and looked at him. Gajeel was shocked at the look of amazement and fear in her eyes.
"Hey Levy, come on snap out of it," Gajeel said as he gently shook her.
"He, he ate it," Levy stuttered out.
"What do you mean?" Gajeel asked, his concern for her growing.
Levy pointed a shaky finger at the thing that Laxus saw in the doorway. When Gajeel laid his eyes on the being at the door whatever threat he felt from Laxus disappeared. He quickly moved Levy behind him and stood in front of her protectively.
From the cloud of dust that had gathered there, a silhouette became viable. Two draconic wings sprouted from the thing's body, large claws glinted in the eerie light as two horns protruded from the being's head. But the thing that Gajeel was focused on was the two glowing eyes. The two orbs of violent purple peering in his general direction.
"I don't understand, I hit them with so much magic energy, did I do something wrong?" Laxus questioned himself while looking at his hands. His bloated from diminishes, leaving him in his original size. He heard a deep growl coming from the entrance of the cathedral. Haru also heard this growl. The two of them turned to look at the beast that let out such a menacing growl, their reactions to what they saw were different though.
For Haru, he realised what, or more accurately, who stood there. Laxus felt that this was a threat to the city of Magnolia that needed to be dealt with. 'This monster will wreak havoc,' Laxus thought, the events that just transpired pushed to the back of his mind.
"Threatening the innocent is a crime I cannot overlook, nor ignore. I have come to deliver judgement on you," Natsu growled out in a menacing voice as the dust started to settle, revealing a draconic man with grey scales covering his face and arms.
"Iron Dragon Lance" Gajeel called out as he transformed his arm into a lance and extended it toward the draconic man. His only priority right now was ensuring nothing happened to Levy. He was shocked when the beast simply stopped his lance with hits palm, not even sparing him a glance.
"'Black Steel', do not anger me, or I will see you as an enemy," the beast growled.
"Gajeel, don't attack him. He's not our enemy," Haru said as he realised why Natsu was here, he also realised that there was no arguing or standing in his way. He was in his Dragon Force, the same state he was in when he defeated Jellal.
"How do you know Salamander?" Gajeel asked, not dropping his guard, but transforming his arm back to normal.
"Don't you recognise this power?" Haru asked. Gajeel looked at the monster and began to recognise the power it held. He remembered the fear he felt when 'Death Walker' asked him where Jose was.
"Leave," Natsu commanded the young Dragon Slayers.
"This is our fight, I'm sorry but we can't allow you to fight all our battles," Haru said, he didn't want to involve Natsu in Fairy Tail's problems, not like with the Tower of Heaven.
"This has gone beyond your petty guild squabble. The moment the citizens of Magnolia were put in danger this became something that falls under my jurisdiction," Natsu said.
"I'm sorry but no, this is Fairy Tail's problem, and we will solve it on our own," Haru said in defiance as he walked to stand in front of Natsu while facing Laxus. Laxus was watching the events unfold in fascination
"If you don't move, I will consider you an enemy ass well," Natsu said as he flared his aura and looked Haru in the eyes with his piercing glare.
"Oi, Salamander, I think we should listen to him," Gajeel said because unlike Haru he had already seen this man when he was enraged and he could see 'Death Walker' was holding on to what little patience he had left. Gajeel decided that words might not be enough and gently took Levy by the arm and led her over to Haru.
"Haru please, you can't defeat Laxus, he is too strong," Levy begged. She had a feeling that this man could defeat Laxus and she had already pieced the puzzle together from Haru's words to Gajeel and his power. This was the same guy who took out Master Jose.
Natsu saw the conflicting look in Haru's eyes, the will and fire to fight and protect his family, but also the disappointment he had in himself for not being strong enough.
"I will train you after this is over," Natsu said in a soft tone. Haru's head shot up in surprise. Natsu just told him he will train him. Then a frown formed on his face, he had a tough decision to make. Stand against Natsu and Laxus now, or leave Laxus to Natsu and let his pride take another blow and later train with Natsu.
"This is not something I will relent on Haru, so make your choice now, leave or stand against me," Natsu said as his hands began glowing purple and grey.
"Fine, but please don't kill him, he's just not in the right state of mind," Haru said as he turned around. 'Even though all of this happened, he still has faith in his guildmates, foolish kid,' Natsu thought as he watched him leave.
"Who said you could go?" Laxus asked. "Lightning Dragon Roar" Laxus called out and sent a torrent of lightning towards Haru, Gajeel and Levy. "Death Dragon Roar" Natsu called out and sent a vortex of purple and grey to counter Laxus' roar. The two roars clashed but Natsu's quickly overpowered Laxus'.
Laxus quickly entered his 'Lightning Body' to dodge the attack. Once he exited his spell he looked at Natsu with a grin.
"Seems like you aren't a weakling like those others, maybe I'll allow you to join my Fairy Tail, that is if you can defeat me," Laxus said with a grin at the prospect of finally fighting a strong opponent.
"You truly are delusional, now face the power of death itself," Natsu said as he dashed towards Laxus and grabbed his face with his clawed hand. "Death Dragon Death Blast" Natsu called out, as a purple and grey glow formed in his hand before he released a ball of purple and grey at point black range in Laxus' face.
Laxus roared out in pain as he rolled on the ground and regained his footing. "Lightning Dragon Breakdown Fist" Laxus called out as he gathered a large amount of lightning around his fist before punching it forwards and sending a massive fist of lightning at Natsu.
"Death Dragon Secret Art: Decaying Grasp: Death Dragon's Oblivion Blade" Natsu called out as he formed a grey sword in his hand that was brimming with a purple aura. He brought the sword down on the lightning fist and split it down the middle, causing the two halves to harmlessly fly past him and explode against the cathedral wall.
"Death God Decaying Advance" Natsu called out and dashed forward at insane speeds, covered in a layer of purple and black energy. "Lightning Dragon Discharge" Laxus called out and shot multiple bolts of lightning in all directions around him. The bolts, however, only bounced off of Natsu as he closed in on Laxus.
Once he was close enough Natsu swing the mighty blade and rammed it into Laxus' side, drawing blood.
"You bastard," Laxus roared in pain. He quickly jumped back to avoid any more damage and stared daggers at his foe.
"Seems like I can't take you easy," Laxus said as he once again grew in size, his muscles enlarging and a scaly pattern forming on his arms and shoulders. "Lightning Dragon Iron Hammer" Laxus roared as he slammed his fist into the ground and sent a massive torrent of lightning towards Natsu. Natsu just spread his wings and ascended into the air, completely dodging the attack.
"Lightning Dragon Heavenward Halberd" Laxus called out as he created a massive halberd out of lighting his hand that he raised above his head. Laxus threw the spear at Natsu with a mighty roar. Natsu lifted his sword and kept one hand on the handle while moving his other hand to the blade, pressing his open palm against the grey surface.
As the spear neared him he used the bladed to redirect the lightning towards the roof of the cathedral, his eyes never leaving Laxus. Laxus roared out in anger as he saw that his attack had no effect on Natsu and readied another attack.
"Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Roaring Thunder" Laxus called out and punched forward while releasing a massive amount of lightning at the airborne Natsu. "Death Dragon Secret Art: Decaying Grasp: Death Dragon's Eradication Fist" Natsu called out as he punched forward and sent a massive fist consisting of purple and grey energy to intercept Laxus' attack. A massive explosion occurred as the two attacks made contact and smoke filled the cathedral.
A clawed hand wrapped itself around his neck and his grin turned into a look of horror. Here stood the draconic man, no draconic demon without any injuries.
"What the hell are you?" Laxus asked with fear entering his voice.
"I am the son of the ruler of Death, I am the bringer of judgement on the corruption to this world, I am the one who carries the burden of passing judgement, I am Death," Natsu said as he slammed Laxus into the ground, creating a massive crater that shook the foundations of the cathedral.
Natsu looked down at the downed man and gathered purple, grey and black energy in his hand as the walls of the cathedral started falling down around him.
"As the one who passes judgement on those who wish to claim the lives of the innocents, I sentence you to the afterlife, feel rejoice in the fact that I grant you passage," Natsu said as he slowly raised his hand. Terror overtook Laxus' expression as he saw nothing but the purple-eyed Dragon in front of him.
"Stop, you can't kill him," a male voice shouted from behind Natsu. Natsu cast a glance to the voice and saw Freed standing there.
"He would have killed everyone here with that 'Fairy Law spell if I hadn't nullified it. That is enough for me to pass this judgement," Natsu said as he turned back to Laxus.
"That spell wouldn't have killed anyone," Freed shouted as he skidded in between Natsu and Laxus.
"Get out of my way or you will share his fate," Natsu threatened as he bared his teeth, revealing his elongated canines.
"That spell only affects those the caster sees as his enemies, and even though he cast it no one was killed, the entire town is safe," Freed pleaded, hoping to save Laxus, who was just angry with the people who were badmouthing Fairy Tail.
'That is your opinion, but it won't change the facts," Natsu said as pushed past the injured Freed with no difficulty and brought his fist down on Laxus. Laxus watched with wide eyes as Natsu's fist was embedded in the ground next to him.
"Count yourself lucky, seems like your follower was telling the truth," Natsu said as he stood up and walked out of the ruins of the cathedral.
Hey there my wonderful readers, here you go with another chapter. What convinced Natsu not to end Laxus? Just wanted to say that I got a job to get a bit of spending money while I wait for varsity to start up again, so there might be a bit longer wait between updates, but don't worry, I won't be abandoning this story, I'm having way too much fun thinking about how a fight would go and reading your comments. Anyway, let me know what you guys thought about this chapter, next chapter I will finish the events of this arc and probably start with an arc of my own design. Another thing I was seeing is that quite a few of you want Natsu to have another mate, now the girls that are being requested are Mira or Erza, so I would love to hear your thoughts on this and if I should include both or only one, or I just keep it Natear, I also created a poll on my profile for this. Hope you enjoyed and I will see you all next time.
