Chief Zephyr stood atop the ledge of the Mooncliff overlooking the valley. Awaiting for the return of his scouts. Hopefully with word about the whereabouts of Princess Elena and Skylar. Though the chief's gaze would often shift toward the sight of the ruins. He squinted his eyes, having a grave feeling of suspicion. With the advent of outsider's within the valley, there was no doubt they sought to take whatever treasures which lay within. If they haven't already.

"Chief Zephyr?"

The Chief glanced back, where he saw Nico, Migs and Luna land behind him. Nico came forward.

"Any word on Elena and Skylar?" Nico asked, curiously.

Zephyr shook his head.

"I'm afraid there has been no word yet, Nico." The Chief insisted to him.

"The scouts are still out searching. But I am certain they will return soon."

Nico frowned, narrowing his head, worryingly. Both Migs and Luna glanced down at him, frowning. Luna came up next to Nico, nudging him with her head to try and comfort him. Migs shifted his glance up at the chief.

"Chief Zephyr, if I may, we wish to help in the search for Elena and Skylar." Migs insisted to the Chief.

The sudden insistence by Migs earned a surprised glance from both Nico and Luna. Migs was never one to do anything that would be so reckless and would go against authority.

"Thank you, but I'm afraid I can not allow that." The Chief proclaimed to him.

Nico glanced up at the Chief.

"What, why not?" Nico asked.

"We're Guardians, too, aren't we?"

"I'm afraid that you are not Guardians as of yet," The chief insisted to her.

"Not until you have taken the Guardian test. And until the Outsiders leave or be driven out, the Guardian test will need to be postponed for the time being. We cannot endanger ourselves more then we already have."

Nico frowned.

"But we wanna help!" Nico insisted to the chief.

"I understand, but I'm afraid I cannot allow it," Chief Zephyr proclaimed, turning to face the valley below.

"I'm sorry."

Nico narrowed his head in utter contempt and disbelief before he flew off back to their nest. Luna was soon to follow after him, leaving Migs to glance back at the chief. Only to then follow after them. The Chief narrowed his eyes as he sighed.

Nico, Luna and Migs flew down and landed in the nest. Nico walked over to the other side of the nest, where he lied down over the floor, groaning. Resting her head over his front paws, shifting his eyes to the side. Migs and Luna came up to him.

"Sorry, Nico, not much we can do about it." Luna said to him.

Nico sighed, shaking his head.

"It's not fair," he claimed to them.

"Just because we're not Guardians, we can't help find big bro and sis?"

Luna narrowed her eyes before glancing over at Migs. He sighed, turning as he gazed off toward the valley, pondering. He narrowed his head, pondering. Like Nico, they wanted nothing more then to go off and find Elena and Skylar. But she knew that she could not just go against Chief Zephyrs orders. Plus with the outsiders still in the valley, it would be dangerous for any jaquin untrained in the ways. They might get captured.

Or even worse.

"I know, Nico, but what can we do?" Luna asked.

"We can't just go looking for themselves."

Migs lifted his gaze. He then sighed, knowing that he was going to regret this.

"Actually, that's exactly what we're going to do." Migs said, glancing back at them.

"What?" Nico said as he stood up in awe.

"Say what Now?" Luna asked, curiously.

"Nico's right, we can't just sit here and do nothing." Migs proclaimed to them.

"Elena and Skylar could be in trouble. And knowing those two, trouble is bound to find them."

Luna stood up, raising an eye brow to Migs.

"Am I hearing you right, Migs?" Luna asked, curiously.

"Are you suggesting we break the rules and go after them ourselves."

There was a moments paused on Mig's part, trying to answer her question with an answer he'd never thought he would ever say.

"Y-yes." He forced himself to say.

Nico leaped up onto his four paws in excitement.

"Alright, let's go!" He proclaimed.

"Just, hold on a second, we need to figure out where they've gone." Migs proclaimed to them.

"When was the last time you saw them."

Nico and Lung glanced to one another, thinking back to the last time they saw Elena and Skylar. Nico narrowed his eyes.

"Well... I remember seeing them over at the ruins when the Night Fury attacked." He proclaimed to them.

"Which means that they probably went after the Night Fury." Migs proclaimed.

"Awe man, they went without us?" Luna said in disappointment

Migs sighed, rolling as he shook his head. He should have known the two of them would attempt something like this. Of all the times for them to scurry off on one of their incursions, it had to be now when Outsiders have come to the valley.

"Come on, you two." Migs said, turning to face the valley overhead.

"Chief Night Fury was headed south. So that must be where Elena and Skylar are.

Spreading his wings, Mings then leaped from the nest. Both Nico and Lung spread their wings as they leaped up into the air, flying off toward the south.

Elena, Hiccup and Skylar emerged from the jungle foliage, making their way toward the sight of the mountains. She glanced back to them, gesturing with her hand to follow her.

"Come on, this way." She proclaimed.

She then emerged from the brush as she rushed forward. The palm leaf she had brushed aside struck Hiccup in the face.

"Ah!" He said, pushing the leaf to the side.

"Hey, wait up, would ya."

Hiccup suddenly felt a small quiver beneath his feet. He paused for a moment glancing down at the ground beneath his feet.

"Do you feel that?" Hiccup asked, glancing back to Skylar.

Skylar glanced down at the jungle floor, at first not noticing anything. When suddenly, he noticed there was a small quaking beneath his paws. The quaking grew stronger. They then glanced over at Elena.

"Uh, Elena?" Skylar called to her.

Elena paused, glancing back at her brother and Hiccup.

"What's wrong?" She asked, curiously.

Elena then heard a sudden sound of crumbling earth from underfoot, causing her to glance down. Only to then see the ground cave in, causing her to fall into the hole.

"Elena!" Hiccup exclaimed, rushing forward.

"Sis!" Skylar gasped, following suit

Just as Elena was about to fall into the dark abyss, she was then grabbed by the wrist. She then glanced up to see Hiccup leaning over the edge, holding her hand.

"I got you." Hiccup said.

The Jaquin's princess blushed a bright red, seeing the boy she like having to have saved her. She glanced to the side, before glancing up at Hiccup.

"Th-thank you." she said.

Skylar came up over the edge, peering down at her sister.

"You okay, sis." Skylar said down to her.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Elena insisted to him.

"Hey, a little help here?" Hiccup asked, curiously.

"Oh, right, sorry!" Skylar said.

He then leaped behind Hiccup, grabbling his vest withing his mouth. The two then began to pull Elena back up to the top of the ledge. When suddenly, the two of then felt the Earth once more quaking beneath them. Skylar opened his eyes, glancing down at two small rocks pattering over the ground next to them.

"Uh, guys." He said, muffling.

"What is it?" Hiccup asked, glancing back at him.

The two then sudden cracking sound from below. Glancing down to the edge, they saw the ledge crumbling beneath him.

"Oh no." hiccup said.

before shattering, causing him to fall in and pulling Skylar along with him. The three then fell below into the blackened abyss below, their screams of peril echoing to the very surface above.

Elena uttered a groan, opening her eyes. She felt herself laying on a shot and warn surface. Though it didn't feel like the soft warn fur and feathers of a Jaquin she normally associated with such a feeling. And upon glancing down, she saw that she was laying overtop of Hiccup, who uttered a groan. Hiccup shook his head, looking up to see her laying overtop of him.

There was a moment paused as the two stared at one another, looking into each other eyes. Only for Hiccup to be snapped back to the reality that she was laying overtop of him.

"Uh, hey, would you mind...uh?" Hiccup asked, curiously.

Elena gasped in realization as she quickly got off of him.

"Sorry." she said.

Hiccup leaned up over the ground, groaning as he rubbed the back of his head. The two then glanced over at Skylar, who was moaning over the ground. As it attempted to stand back up, he then winced in pain of his wing.

"Skylar!" Elena gasped, rushing over to her brother.

"Are you okay?" she asked, curiously.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said, wincing.

"Think my wing took some beating from the fall."

Hiccup glanced around the darken tunnel.

"Where are we?" He asked, curiously.

Elena and Skylar looked around the darken tunnel they were in.

"I don't know, but it sure is dark in here." Skylar said.

"I can fix that." Elena insisted to them.

She then stood up as pulled out her scepter from her side.

"Glow!" She said, raising her scepter into the air.

The tip of her scepter glowed a bright blue light, revealing the inside of the tunnel. Though upon revealing the tunnels inside, they came to see the remains of what looked to have once been animals. Elena and Skylar gasped in awe.

"Wow." Elena said, stepping back.

Hiccup glanced down at the remains.

"Looks like we stumbled into a predators layer." Hiccup insisted, glancing back at them.

"Of what?" Elena asked, curiously.

There was a sudden growling sound from off in the tunnel behind them. The three glanced back in the direction of the the roar.

"What was that?" Skylar asked, curiously.

Hiccup shook his head.

"I don't know, but I don't think I want to find out?" Hiccup insisted to him.

"We should try and find a way out of here."

Elena turned as she gazed forward down the tunnel. With a suspected creature behind them, there was only one way to go. She then gestured her scepter forward.

"We go that way." she proclaimed to them.

Elena then walked forward into the tunnel as Hiccup and Skylar followed suit. Unannounced to them of the creature that lurked in the darkness behind them.
