The Night Fury had rarely ever flown under the sun. In the past, he had remained within his temple during the day. Only ever preferring to fly during the night. While he was quite adaptable to how hot it was in the valley, it was during the night that he remained hidden by the others in valley. Most notably, the Jaquins or any other Dragons within the valley.
Yet despite the day still within it's prime, the Night Fury was determined to find the one who resembled the temple carving. Of the one who had served his ancestor all those years ago.
He gazed down over the jungle below, scanning the foliage. But still he saw no sign of the one who resemble Moldoff. Nor the ones who had taken him from that night from his temple. The Tope of the trees were too thick to see whatever it was that lied below. The Night Fury gave a low growl of annoyance. Though this was nothing he hadn't had to deal with before, especially when it comes to hunting.
But this was not a matter of Prey. Rather this was something much larger then that.
There was a sudden rumbling sound coming from below. The Night Fury gazed down to the jungle below, growling. He recognized that quaking and what it was that caused it.
The Night Fury flew down toward a narrow opening through the trees, landing firmly over the jungle floor. He then heard the ground rumbling beneath him, causing him to stand firmly at the ready. He glanced around at the surrounding jungle, waiting the moment they would spawn from the forest floor.
There was a moments pause...
The Quaking suddenly ceased as the jungle floor returned to normal. Though the Night fury remained vigilant, glancing around at the nearby foliage. Though as he scanned the foliage, he then caught whiff of a familiar scent. He cocked his head, shifting his gaze over to what looked to be a borrowing hole.
The Night Fury came up over the hole, peering down along the edge, where he saw what looked like human and Jaquin foot prints. They looked as if they were dragged down into the hole. The Night Fury uttered a panicked growl and without a second though, leaped down into the burrowing hole.
Elena, Hiccup and Skylar continued making their way through the Tunnels. Elena paused for a moment, holding her scepter forward as she tried to light the way. The then lost balance for a moment, feeling woozy from having used her scepter for so long. She groaned, shaking her head.
Hiccup gasped as he came up to her, catching her in his arms.
"Hey, you alright?" She asked, curiously.
"Yeah, I'm alright." Elena insisted, sounding as if she was out of breath.
Hiccup helped her back up onto her feet.
"Maybe you should give yourself a break from the scepter," Hiccup insisted.
"It's wearing you down."
Elena glanced down to her scepter, nodding her head.
"Yeah... Yeah, I think I should." She said in agreement.
"B-but what about the dark?" Skylar asked, curiously.
Hiccup and Elena glanced to one another. Hiccup then glanced down at the remains over the floor of the cave. He then smirked, getting an idea.
"I think I might know how to fix that." He insisted as he walked over to the remained.
Plucking one of the bones from the remains, where she proceeded to wrap a cloth from his beg over the top. He then took two stones next to him, where he proceeded to rub them together, creating a spark which lit the cloth on fire. He then held it up as he turned to face Elena and Skylar.
"There." He said.
"Wow, nice thinking." Skylar commented.
Elena nodded her head, slipping her scepter into it's hoister. She came up to him, taking the torch from him as she peered down the tunnel.
"This way!" She proclaimed, walking on ahead down the tunnel.
"Lead the way, sis!" Skylar proclaimed, earning a curious glance from Hiccup.
Skylar then scurried after his older sister before Hiccup followed suit. He came up next to Elena, glancing back at the strange winged Jaguar. He had heard them call each other brother and sister. It was obvious that the two considered each other siblings.
He then glanced to her.
"So, you two are sibling?" Hiccup asked, curiously.
Elena smiled, glancing back at her younger brother.
"Yes, we are." Elena said, nodding her head to him.
Skylar smiled as she came up next to her sister.
"That's right, Elena is the best big sis!" Skylar proclaimed, placing his tail over her shoulder.
Elena smirked, nodding her head to her brother.
"Skylar." She said, smiling.
Hiccup smirked.
"So... how did you guys...?" Hiccup asked, glancing to her.
Hiccup's question caused Elena to glanced to the side, dripping her hair behind her hair.
"It's kind of a long story." Elena said, glancing to him.
"Let's just say, they found me."
"What do you mean?" Hiccup asked, curiously.
Elena turned forward, remembering what had happened that very night long ago. She then frowned.
"My parents and I came here on an expedition to the ruins when I was little." Elena explained.
"There was this big explosion at one of the temples. My parents were..."
Elena then paused, narrowing her head. All but confirming what Hiccup was thinking. He glanced to the side, rubbing the back of his head.
"I'm... sorry." Hiccup said, glancing back to her.
Elena shifted her glanced up at Hiccup, smiling.
"I wondered the jungle looking for help," Elena said.
"But... there was no one."
Seeing her sister appear sad, Skylar came up next to Elena, rubbing up against her. Elena glanced down at her brother, smiling.
"But it wasn't all bad," She insisted, petting her brother.
"I was found by the Jaquins. They took me in and raised me as one of their own. I've been with them ever since."
Skylar leaned up his head, nuzzling her. Earning a smiled from Elena as she pressed her cheek against his, hugging him tightly.
"You live here in the valley with Jaquins..." Hiccup said, glancing to her.
"That's amazing."
Elena glanced to Hiccup as she stood up. Her cheeks blushed red as she brushed her hair behind her ear, smiling
"Thanks." she said.
The three heard the strange growling sound from the tunnel behind them. Hiccup, Elena and Skylar glanced back the way they came. It sounded close. A lot closer then before.
"Think we should probably keep going." Skylar insisted to them.
Skylar then continued on through the tunnel as Elena followed suit. Hiccup paused for a moment, glancing to Elena, quizzingly. Thinking back to her mentioning that her parents were on an expedition to the ruins. Dr. Castillo was also here on an expedition with his family and that his daughter had gone missing in jungle after one of the temples collapsed.
Could it be possible that Elena was Dr. Castillo's daughter?
Elena glanced back to Hiccup.
"Hey, keep up!" she called back to him.
Hiccup shook his head as he followed after them.
They walked for a sort time through the tunnel before noticing a dim light upcoming coming around a corner. Skylar paused.
"Hey, Look!" she proclaimed to them.
Elena and Hiccup gazed ahead at the dim light overhead. The two gasped with anticipation.
"It must be a way out!" Elena proclaimed.
"Come on!"
Emerging from the tunnel, the three emerged into an cavern. They then paused, gazing in awe at the sight of what looked to be some temple ruins.
"Wow!" Hiccup said in awe.
The three walked out into the center of the cavern. They then gazed out over the temple ruins.
"Where are we?" Skylar asked, curiously
"What is this place?" Hiccup said, glancing down at Elena.
Elena shook her head.
"It looks like some more Maruvian temples." She insisted.
"But how did they get down here?" Skylar asked.
Hiccup shifted his gaze up at the opening above. If he had to guess, the temple's must have sank from above. But how?
"I don't know." He said, shaking his head.
The three then hear the strange growling sound from the tunnel. But it was not coming from the temple they came from. Rather from the several within the cavern. Hiccup and Elena glanced around, panicky. It was clear what ever made that sound was getting closer. And it was not alone.
"But I'm guessing whatever made that sound might have had something to so with it." Hiccup insisted, turning back to them.
Elena gazed up at the cavern above.
"That might be our only way out." She insisted to them.
"Come on, let's see if we can find anything in these temples that could help."
As Elena and Skyler then turned and made he way over to one of the temples, Hiccup shifted his gaze over at the center temple.
Hiccup came up over the top of the stairway, where he peered into the temple. He then froze. Inside, he saw what looked to be the remains of what appeared to be a Viking of his clan. But this was no ordinary Viking. It was Moldoff himself.
Hiccup stood up in awe. The sight of his ancestors skeletal remains were indeed a sight to behold.
"Moldoff the Fearless," He said.
"I don't believe it."
Hiccup shifted his gaze at the sword Moldoff was clinging to in his right hand. Along with a wooden shield that was propped up against it.
"Wow!" Hiccup said.
He came up to the skeletal remains of Moldoff, where he grabbed hold of the swords handle. Using all the strength he could muster, he pulled the sword from the stone floor, causing the blade to light up.
Elena emerged from the temple, shaking her head.
"Nothing." She said.
"Nothing in there, either." Skylar proclaimed to her.
There was a strange flash of light from one of the temple. The two glanced up at the center temple.
"Hiccup?" Elena exclaimed.
Hiccup sauntered backward, gazed in awe at the glowing sword. He twirled it in his hand, holding it upward.
"Wow, what is this?" Hiccup asked, curiously.
"Hiccup!"
Elena and Skylar came up over the top of the stairway. Only to then pause in awe at the sight of the glowing sword.
"Wow!" Skylar said.
Elena came forward to Hiccup.
"How are you doing that?" she asked, curiously.
Hiccup glanced down at the sword he was holding. He then shook his head, turning to face her.
"I don't know." Hiccup said.
The was a sudden quaking sound as they felt the floor of the temple. They glanced down at the temple floor.
"What's happening?" Elena asked.
Hiccup came out of the temple as he gazed down over the canyon floor. There was a sudden explosion of ruble as they saw three winged creatures rose into the air. They har round circular heads with mouth's of sharp teeth, long snake-like bodies with sharp spikes and bat-like wings. The three gazed up in shock at awe.
"Oh Thor." Hiccup cursed.
