The Nightfury flew over a nearby lagoon someplace deep in the jungle. What was one of his favorite spots to come when searching for food. Where the fish were often plentiful and today was no exception. Only this time he was not hunting for himself. But also for Hiccup and Elena as well.
Glancing down, he noticed there were there were several fish swimming close to the surface. The dragon growled excitedly. He then flew down to the lagoon, where he proceeded to scoop the, up into his mouth. As it's jaws became full of fish, the dragon. the lifted up over the jungle before flying back toward the temple.
Nico, Migs and Luna continued to scan the jungle below for Elena and Skylar. Peering ahead, Nico noticed a black winged creature emerge from the treetopes ahead. He then paused mid air.
"Hey guys, look!" Nico called to Migs and Luna.
Migs and Luna glanced ahead before coming to a sudden stop mid air, gasping in awe.
"Is that...?" Luna said, pointing over at the dragon.
"Quick, hide!" Migs exclaimed to them.
The three Jaquins quickly flew down and hid within the brush of the tree below. Peering through the cover of the leaves, they spotted the Night Fury flying overhead. Seemingly hadn't taken noticed of them. Migs sighed in relief.
"That was close." He said, wiping his forehead with his paw.
Nico squinted his eyes. He remembered the Night Fury having shown up to drive away the Outsiders. The same time that Elena and Skylar had disappeared. Perhaps it knew where they were.
"Where is it going?" he asked, curiously.
"Who cares, we should be looking for Elena and Skylar." Migs insisted to them.
Nico suddenly leaped up from the brush as he flew after the Night fury. Much to the dismay of both Migs and Luna.
"Nico, where are you going?" Migs called out to him.
"I'm going after it! It might know where they are!" Nico proclaimed to them.
He then turned and flew off after the Night Fury. Migs was just about to say something. When suddenly Luna flew after him.
"Wait up, Nico!" Luna called out to him.
"Luna, not you, too?" Migs called to her
Migs uttered a sigh, shaking his head. He then leaped out of the foliage and followed after them.
Hiccup and Skylar continued to wait for the Night Fury to return. All the while, Elena continued to lay against him, sleeping so soundly. Hiccup then shifted his glanced back at the stone carving of Moldoff and the Night Fury over the temple wall. What was further evidence that his ancestral Viking Tribe and Maruvians shared a history with each other. But also, that his ancestor had not only found the Night Fury. But had also tamed it.
"I can't believe this." Hiccup said to himself.
"Moldoff and the Night Fury... but How is that...?"
This resolution had certainly changed everything. All that they knew of Moldoff and the Night Fury had now been thrown into question. It had been said that Moldoff had wished to slay the beast. Hunting it to the very ends of the earth. Only to discover this. Never would they would have thought that he would tame the beast.
Hiccup peered up at his ancestor.
"Could everything we've known about them... have been wrong?" Hiccup asked, curiously.
Uttering a faint moan as she snuggled against his chest. Hiccup and Skylar glanced down at her, smiling. He couldn't help but found her to be cute.
"She's been out for a while now. Does it usually take this long?" Hiccup asked, curiously.
Skylar leaned up his head.
"Pretty much. Last time she used it this much, she didn't wake up for days." Skylar insisted to him.
"Days?" Hiccup said, worryingly.
"Yeah. It's said that only one who is experience using the scepter can use it without becoming tired." Skylar insisted to him.
"She's still new to using the scepter. It was only been given to her recently."
There was another faint moan from Elena. Causing Hiccup to glanced down at her. All with the hopes that she would soon wake up.
Nico, Migs and Luna tailed the Night Fury from far behind. The blacks scaled dragon still hadn't taken noticed of the three Jaquins. Much to the relief of Migs. Having seen the other night what the Beast of the Night was capable of. He certainly wasn't in the mood to have his fur and feathers burned.
Migs looked back in the direction they came. He could hardly see the Mooncliff anymore. Nor the ruins of the ancient city. They must have gone far into the valley.
"Um, am I the only one who thinks we're going too far from the Moon Cliff?" Migs called out to them.
Nico and Luna hardly noticed as they kept staring ahead at the Night Fury. It was then they noticed the Night Fury fly down to a what looked to be a temple-like structure.
"There! It's headed to that Temple!" Nico called to them.
"Come on!"
Nico followed after Night Fury as it flew down to the temple below. Luna followed after him.
"Wait, maybe we should..." Migs said before uttering a sigh.
"Hey, wait for me!"
Elena eyes slowly opened as she gave a small yawn. She then leaned up her head, moaning.
"Skylar?" she said.
"Hey, sis, you awake?" Skylar asked from behind.
Elena groaned.
"Yeah..." she said, yawning.
"Thank goodness." Skylar said in relief.
Elena turned back to her brother, smiling. Only to then pause, realizing that Skylar was standing behind her. Now that she thought about, she didn't feel like she was laying over his soft fur. Despite feeling just as warm. But if it wasn't Skylar, then what was she...
"Hey, you awake." Hiccup said.
Elena paused. As she glanced back, she saw Hiccup looking back down at her. She then glanced down and found herself laying over him. She then gasped as she quickly leaned back from him.
"I... uh... I didn't..." Elena said at a loss of words.
"Um...?
Elena felt so embarrassed. She couldn't believe that she had did something like this. And with someone she had only met and hardly even knew. Though despite that, her cheeks blushing as red and her heart was beating so rapidly in her chest. More then it had ever had before. Laying against him, feeling his touch over her.
The more she thought about, the more she blushed. Though she was quick to return to reality, noticing Hiccup was staring at her. She cleared her throat before coming onto her knees.
"Sorry about that." she said, grinning.
Hiccup smiled, shaking his head to her.
"No, it's alright, really." He reassured her.
Elena was just about to say something. Only for her eyes to then shift to the Petroglyph over the wall, depicting what appeared to be a Night Fury and a man with a beard and a strange horn hat. She squinted her eyes as she stood up in the nest.
"What is that?" she asked, curiously.
"I've never seen this petroglyphs before."
Elena eyes shifted to the man. The man who did not appeared to be Maruvian.
"That's odd. That man doesn't look, Maruvian." Elena insisted.
Hiccup turned up at the petroglyphs over the wall. He then stood up.
"That is Moldoff." Hiccup insisted to her.
Elena turned to him, curiously.
"What?" she asked.
"He was the Chief of Berk, an old Viking Tribe from the Archipelago. My ancestors." Hiccup proclaimed to her.
"Your... ancestors?" Elena asked.
Hiccup nodded his head to her.
"That's right. It was said over a thousand yeas ago, he had left to hunt the Night Fury and never returned." Hiccup insisted to her.
"Until now."
Elena continued to peer at the stone carving of Moldoff and Night Fury. turned to Hiccup, curiously. When suddenly they heard a familiar growl from off to their right. They then turned and saw the Night Fury flying toward them and landed in the nest.
"Your back!" Hiccup said.
The Night Fury uttered a growl to them. It's mouth appearing to be full. It was right at that moment that it spat out fish from it's jaws, which came out over the floor of the nest. Causing Hiccup and Elena to saunter back.
"Eh..." Hiccup said in disgust.
The Night Fury glanced to the three, gesturing for them to have one.
"Oh... uh...no thank you. Big Breakfast." Elena said in disgust.
Skylar in turn greeted his teeth, shaking his head in disgust.
"Sorry, Amigo, Jaquins only eat Anoki Berries." Skylar insisted to the Night Fury.
The Night Fury cocked his head at them, curiously. Only to then shrug as he glanced down at the fish, opening his mouth wide. Upon seeing the inside of it's mouth, Hiccup and Elena noticed something. Its teeth were missing.
"Hey, look at that." Elena said, gesturing to it's open moth.
"Huh, that's odd. I could have sworn it had..."
The Dragon's teeth suddenly appeared from the top and bottom edge of it's mouth. Snatching one of the fish from off the floor of the nest before scarfing it down. Much to the awe and fascination of Elena and Hiccup.
"No way." Hiccup said.
Nico peered around the corner of the temple, where he saw the Night Fury peering from over edge of the nest. Appearing as though he was feasting on something. Could it be Elena and Skylar?
Nico gasped.
"Oh no!" Nico exclaimed in awe.
Migs and Luna peered from around the corner and saw the Night Fury. Looking as it was really eating something.
"Looks that guys having a chow down on something." Luna said.
Nico suddenly emerged from around the corner, much to the protest of both Migs and Luna. He then came up over the edge of the nest.
"Okay, Night Fury, what did you do to my..."
Nico then paused. Inside the nest he found the black Dragon, eating the fish it caught. Along with Hiccup, Elena and Skylar, glancing up at him.
"Nico!" Skylar exclaimed.
The Night Fury turned back at the young Jaquin, it's mouth begin to glow purple. Much to the dismay of Elena and Skylar.
"Wait stop!" Elena proclaimed to him.
The black dragon glanced to her before ceasing the fire from it's mouth. It was at that moment that Migs and Luna came up over the edge of the nest.
"Elena, Skylar?" Migs said.
"Hey guys." Skylar said, grinning.
The two gazes then shifted to Hiccup, who looked up at them, curiously.
"Uh, what's going on here?"Luna asked, curiously.
The two glanced to each other before grinning.
