Park

1:00 pm

What better way to enjoy the sunny and warm weather than at the park, having a picnic with friends, kids playing on the playground, and Duncan lying back with his head resting on Courtney's lap.

It's been a very busy week for everyone with both work and life. Geoff and Bridgette called everyone to ask if they were all up for a picnic they were planning which they all were in for.

" I think it's sweet," said Leshawna smiling before taking a sip of lemonade while Harold took a bite of potato salad "A little PDA never hurt " replied Bridgette followed by a few of them chuckling or giggling " then what you and Geoff do must be something else " laughs Cody sitting close to Gwen who was being protected by Trent.

Meanwhile, Tyler was on the grass doing some sit-ups for reason unexplained and Lindsey was sunbathing. Owen was enjoying a bag of chips while listening.

Geoff had his arms around Bridgette who currently sat between his legs " Hey we can't help it " he answers winking at her "This was a good idea guys " says Trent looking over at the playground to see the kids playing together in the jungle gym.

" Oh yeah " yawned Duncan stretching his arms out followed by his hair getting played with "You needed this..hm? " asks Courtney looking at Duncan smiling.

"Yup, me and the guys have been working late again just to make sure customers are happy " explains Duncan feeling tired " But hey that's good though right? " asks Owen with a full mouth " It is but still it can be tiring too " sighs Duncan " but what I don't like is being away from important people " he adds turning his head to see Serenity coming down the slide then once again look at Courtney.

" Oh boy look at you two so into each other," says Leshawna grinning at the couple " I still remember the days when Courtney hated you, Duncan," said DJ smiling making everyone laugh " Yeah but we all knew she couldn't resist me," said Duncan grinning " I just didn't want to admit it or even say it out loud cause I found you so annoying " explains Courtney looking away.

" You know you two were the fan's favourite pair," says Cody before taking a sip of coke "How did you know that? " asks Gwen curiously " I got an internship at a media company turns out the show was super popular amongst many but Duncney was quite the topic amongst others " Cody explains smiling.

" Duncney? " they all said looking shocked "That's what they called us? " asked Courtney with an eyebrow raised "Yup or at least that's what this particular person called you guys " he explains suddenly getting nervous "What particular person? " asks Geoff making everyone look at Cody who looks like he was hiding something.

Rubbing the back of his neck Cody talks " Well about 2 years ago this super fan bumped into me not only a HUGE fan of mine and crazy " he explains already annoyed " She went on about Duncney, Gwent and Gidgette " he adds making others confused " Then lastly she confessed her undying love for me and how we could be an amazing couple " the last part made everyone's eyes open wide.

" Talk about psycho," says Gwen grabbing a handful of grapes " I feel sorry for you," says DJ patting Cody's shoulder "Lucky you gotta stalker " sighs Harold making everyone look at him confused.

" What is Gwent and Gidgette? " asks Tyler as he stops doing sit-ups " Oh it's Geoff and Bridgette's Gwen and Trent's names combined " explains Cody looking sad with mentioning the last one.

Cody always liked Gwen but when he found out she and Trent got married as well as having a kid it hurt him. But he also knew they were into each other.

" Gwent...I like it " says Trent resting an arm around Gwen's shoulder making her giggle "Same I like the name we got " replies Geoff smiling at Bridgette.

All of a sudden a very well-known musical tune was heard playing getting the attention of all the kids in the playground.

" ICE CREAM " screamed the kids as they all stop playing to run to get their parents.

" Mommy Daddy "

Owen already made a run for the ice cream truck that was making its way to the park. " Wow that's the fastest I've seen him run," said Harold stunned " Yo Owen wait up! We'll hold it for you guys" calls Geoff running off.

Already knowing what's going to happen, Duncan, Trent and Tyler start standing up.

" We all knew it was coming " sighs Trent stretching his arms out "Duty calls " Duncan replied as Serenity came up to him "Please Daddy can we get ice cream " she begs grabbing Duncan's hand.

" Dad us too please " pleads Louis at Trent "Let's go, Dad," says together Mikey and Millie to Tyler.

Courtney's POV

It was taking all my willpower to not laugh at the scene I swear whenever Serenity asks Duncan for something he gives in.

" Alright let's go get some," he says smiling at her along with the others "Yay" cheered Serenity only to make me smile more " So can daddy buy ice cream for mommy too? " asks Duncan looking at me with that grin of his " yeah mommy too " answers Serenity " an orange creamsicle would be nice " I answer trying not to laugh.

" Coming up " answers Duncan winking at me before him and the other guys left, what was with the flirting?

" Oooooooh " my eyes open hearing the others "Stop it you guys," I said looking down at my lap," something tells me you two are really good again," said Bridgette grabbing a carrot stick and then dipped it in hummus.

" We've been more than good actually " I replied adjusting myself to sit comfortably " When Duncan was taking care of me he said some things that were still bothering him ".

Gwen, Leshawna and Bridgette looked at one another for a moment " You mean when he was away? " Gwen asks quietly. Sighing heavily I nod "Yeah he thought that he wouldn't be this affected but we talked about it and I told him he can tell me anything ".

" Wow that's something," says Bridgette surprised " But that's good that he shared that with you," said Leshawna "Yeah if things aren't talked about between you two then what would be the point " replies Gwen.

Hearing what they said made sense there were some things I couldn't tell or trust Duncan, til I saw that he wanted to be a part of Serenity's life. But he proved it.

" Courtney I've been meaning to ask this for a while," says Leshawna looking at me "How did you even handle being pregnant at 16?" Leshawna asked looking at me concerned surprising everyone well almost everyone, Lindsey was currently asleep.

" I had to become an adult right away" I sighed thinking back to those days " but also what gave me the most strength was... "

" Mommy " calls Serenity walking up to me while licking a colourful popsicle and bringing me my creamsicle "Here's your ice cream " she adds handing it to me "Thank you, " I said smiling at her while Duncan sat next to me enjoying a cyclone.

" We're back " announced Geoff holding his firecracker then handed Bridgette a pure fruit popsicle "Man that lineup was something," said Trent as he and Louis enjoyed their fudge bars and then sat with Gwen who was enjoying a blueberry creamsicle.

Millie got a bubble gum swirl bar while both Tyler and Mikey enjoyed a Spider-Man popsicle.

Owen returned with a whole bunch of varieties making us laugh.

4:00 PM

Unlocking the door to my apartment I walked inside carrying the picnic basket and a water bottle while Duncan carried Serenity who had dozed off while we were talking with the others, which meant it was time to go.

It wasn't only her but the other kids as well, then again they had been running around on the playground, had a hardy lunch, ate ice cream then continued playing til they got exhausted.

While Duncan put Serenity in her bed I was emptying the basket, and putting all the containers in the sink to wash I sighed feeling both relaxed and tired. It was such a good idea to go out and have fun with friends, I don't know what it's going to be like in a few years but I hope we can all get together and have fun like this.

" Okay sleeping beauty is sleeping " sighs Duncan walking into the kitchen making me laugh hearing him, " I think she might be asleep for a while " I replied taking the lids off the Tupperware "Maybe we can relax then," he says taking my hand bringing me to him making my heart race.

Thankfully they got to me, quickly putting them on I sighed in relief once they were on.

" That was close " I whisper laying back to breathe "Daddy " says Serenity looking at me " yes " I answer waiting to hear what she will ask next, " I heard jumping on the bed again " she says making my eyes open and Courtney gasp " then I'll have to check to make sure we don't hear that again " I reply trying not to laugh.

" Why do people jump on the bed? " she asks making me want to laugh "Okay young lady no more questions for daddy...it's bath time, " says Courtney while I stand up from the floor "But why do people jump on the bed? " asks Serenity as Courtney tries to change the topic.

On the other hand, I grab a pillow and laugh hard into it. Knowing that if I even answered that question Courtney will give me hell...the adulting continues.
