AN: Time to go wild LOL

Chapter 7

Duncan's POV

9:30 AM

" The wheels on the bus

go round and round

round and round

round and round "

This was gonna be one hell of a day, once again parent volunteers were needed for yet another field trip and this time more were needed especially since we were on our way to the zoo which should be something.

Thankfully aside from myself and Trent here Tyler, Lindsey, Alejandro, Heather and most importantly Courtney was coming this time so maybe it won't be bad. Gwen stayed behind due to being in fragile condition and she should take it easy.

" The wheels on the bus

all through the town "

" I'm pretty excited about this," said Alejandro sitting with me and the others in the back seats " It's the zoo who doesn't get excited about going? " asks Lindsey smiling brightly " I can't wait to see unicorns " She adds getting all of our attention.

Covering my eyes with my hand I sigh heavily " Are you okay? " asks Courtney feeling as she holds my hand "Yeah just wondering when this song ends " I answered since we left the school it's been the same verse " Must be the easiest part they remember " says Trent sitting in the seat in front of us.

" Attention everyone we're almost there " announced Zoe from the front seats followed by all the kids cheering...

" YAY!!!! ZOO!!! ZOO!!! ZOO!!! WE'RE GOING TO THE ZOO " they all cheered.

" YEAH ZOO!!! " cheers Tyler standing in his seat and making us laugh.

" Oh brother " sighs Heather rolling her eyes "You know you could be a bit enthusiastic," said Courtney looking at Heather " What's exciting about seeing animals " answers Heather adjusting her no doubt designer dress with high heels. That outfit is bound to get dirty at some point today.

Normal POV

20 Minutes Later

The bus arrived at the destination once the bus doors opened the kids couldn't resist screaming in pure excitement, making the adults cover their ears.

" Alright everyone grab your backpacks and in an orderly fashion exit the bus " instructs Zoe currently standing by the driver "Once again a nice straight line " she adds before the first to step out of the bus.

It was going to be the parent volunteers responsibility to make sure everyone took their belongings with them as well as follow the rules.

Once all the kids were outside and in a line, Duncan and the others stepped out of the bus with their backpacks aside from Heather who currently carried a purse.

Looking at the entrance of the zoo, it was something to look at. It had a huge arch with different animals as well as a big welcome sign...

Smiling at the sight Duncan thought to himself that maybe this field trip won't be so bad after all.

" Alright everyone let's go in and meet our zoo guide remember to stay together," says Zoe smiling at the class "Parent volunteers let's be sure to keep the kids in line and safe " she adds before they all started to make their way inside.

" Let's get wild," said Duncan walking with Courtney as well as Serenity who was thrilled to be at the zoo "It's gonna be fun Daddy and Mommy," says Serenity smiling "Yes it is " replies Courtney looking ahead as they approach an information hut.

" It's nice that we'll have a guide," says Trent standing by Louis who also was excited to see the animals " I can't," he says in anticipation.

" Papa Mama I wanna see wolves," says Miguel smiling at Heather and Alejandro "We'll see them hijo " answers Alejandro patting Miguel's head.

Mikey and Millie are currently hanging from Tyler's arms pretending to be what I'm guessing are monkeys, I had to admit it was funny to watch. All while Lindsey took pictures.

" Alright everyone when our guide arrives we're going to be polite, listen and follow them so that we can see all the animals," said Zoe " but also to have lots of fun today ".

" Yay!!! " cheered the class as well as clapped...

Mike's POV

I've had this thing for as long as I could remember and aside from Cameron who's been my best friend since high school, he's the only one that knows of my other personalities.

I have been working a few jobs to get through college and I tend to use them for different purposes but when it comes to my zoo job Manitoba Smith has been very helpful in making it fun for guests on tours. And as luck would have it's a preschool.

While Cameron is studying robotics and engineering, most of his life he had to be in a bubble which unfortunately he was made fun of but we became best friends. And just a few years ago he's been able to be out in the open.

I was just finishing putting my zoo shirt on followed by reaching for my safari-like fedora hat.

Taking a few breaths I try to calm myself " I can do this it's not the first time" I tell myself " I make it fun " I added smiling.

" Hey Mike our field trip group is here and they're all so cute, " says Cameron cheerfully "Thanks dude you sure you're going to be okay, after yesterday? " I ask recalling how Cameron was chased by the goats in the petting area.

" Definitely although today maybe I'll just stay out of the petting zoo pin and give kids the feed " laughs Cameron nervously, "Lesson learned never keep feed in the pockets " I chuckle along with him "Yeah now get Manitoba Smith out so we can show them a good time," says Cameron grabbing two walkie talkies along with his safari hat.

As we walk out of the staff building and to the information hut, I get excited because my favourite part of working here at the zoo is telling the kids about the animals which is why I wanted to be a teacher.

Just as Cameron and I were about to get there I stop for a moment and my heart started racing " Uuuh...who is that? " I asked "Who? " asks Cameron looking around "The girl with red hair and a flower " I answer smiling "Oh that is the teacher for our tour group...Zoe " explains Cameron looking at a clipboard.

I couldn't get my eyes off her she had to be the prettiest girl I'd seen in my life "Wow she's beautiful " I sigh no doubt looking like a dork " Why don't you ask her on a date after the tour? " asks Cameron smiling at me which made my eyes open up.

I've never asked anyone on a date before, would she even go out with someone like me? I guess I'll find out later.

Putting on a brave face I took a deep breath " Right show time," says Mike putting on his hat followed by taking a deep breath " Right...let the adventure begin " he announces with an Australian accent...

( Manitoba )

Me and my mate approach our awaiting group "Do your thing Manitoba " says Cameron smiling as we arrive " G'day all " I greeted "Allow me to introduce myself the name is Manitoba and this here is my best mate Cameron " I add seeing him wave.

The little tikes greet us happily and by the looks of it they were excited to start Cameron was right they are a cute bunch especially the red-headed she la...

" RIGHT, WHO' A READY TO SEE...LIONS " I ask

" US " answer the kids...

" TIGERS "

" US "

" AND BEARS "

" US "

" THEN WELCOME TO THE ZOO LET OUR FUN BEGIN!!! " I announce as I start our walkthrough...

10:30 AM

We were making great timing on our walk our first stop was predator valley where the tigers, lions, bears, wolves, and jaguars were the first animals to see.

Then our next stop was to land of the giants where we saw the buffalos and hippos now we currently were approaching the elephants.

" Behold little Kocabaras the elephants " I announce as we approach the elephants that were currently near their watering hole spraying water on themselves.

All the kids stood by the fence waving at the elephants "Fun fact children elephants are the largest land mammal on earth " says Cameron smiling " And they eat 140 pounds of food " he adds once again to hear the kids amazed.

" Woah " exclaimed the kids " does anyone know what elephants like to eat? " asks the redhead beauty. I could not stop looking at her she was more beautiful than the sunsets in deserts.

I felt the presence of three mates beside me smiling " Dude just go up to Zoe and ask her out " says a guy with piercings on his ears "Yeah man you've been looking at her since the beginning " says another with messy hair and green eyes smiling.

" It's quite obvious you find her attractive amigo," says a Spanish-looking fellow.

Clearing my throat " Right I'll take your word for it mates now if you'll excuse me our next stop is the giraffes " I replied before walking toward the kids...

Zoe's POV

11:30 AM

I'm so happy to see the kids and parent volunteers having fun today this field trip was the highlight.

It was a good time to break for lunch before Manitoba and Cameron guided us to our next animal viewing.

We were all in the picnic area sitting at tables while kids sat together eating their lunch myself and the moms sat at one table while the guys sat together at another.

I was just in the middle of enjoying my lunch when I couldn't help but notice Courtney, Lindsey and Heather looking at me with smiles.

" Uh hi, what's going on? " I asked smiling back " Should we tell her? " asks Heather smiling mischievously while Courtney and Lindsey nodded "Tell me what? Is the field trip bad? " I asked looking around.

" No the field trip is great but I think our tour guide likes you," says Courtney gesturing to look at Manitoba and Cameron eating lunch " Cameron likes me? " I ask looking at him as he cleans his glasses but I the. hear a few light laughs "No not him Manitoba " says Heathers this time I look back at them.

My cheeks started warming up a bit "What are you guys talking about? " I ask getting nervous " he has been checking you out " answers Lindsey smiling "Yeah I swear he's been trying to impress you this whole time," said Courtney before taking a sip of water.

Now my face was getting warmer "Well I do admit he's cute and he's been making the kids laugh and have fun " I reply recalling all of this morning's activities "So what should I do? " I ask looking back at Manitoba "Go talk to him or ask him out " answers Heather opening her purse.

" What...no I couldn't I've never asked a guy out plus not with the kids here " I replied before turning back to look at them "Oh come on Zoe your hot, " Lindsey compliments " yeah plus he seems like a nice guy, " says Courtney encouraging me.

Oh boy, what do I do? I barely remember boys in high school ever asking me out, how would I even go about asking him out?

" I'll try later when we're coming to the end " I declared before continuing to eat my lunch "We gotta schedule to keep " add grabbing my water bottle.

12:30 PM

After everyone finished lunch and rested for a bit, we continued with the tour.

We were making our way to Tree Village where they had a different species of monkeys, lemurs and sloths the kids got excited seeing them.

" Wow they're so cool," says Louis while looking at the capuchins with Trent and we're currently doing their own thing in their habitats.

" Aw look that Monkey has a little monkey mommy and daddy," says Serenity as she and her parents were looking at the ring-tailed lemur that has a baby on the mother's back " That's right even animals have babies too," said Courtney smiling.

" Hey look at this weird guy," says Tyler as him, Lindsey, Mikey and Millie stare at a sloth hanging from a tree "It's not doing anything," said Millie tilting her head to the side " maybe it's sleeping," says Mikey looking at it closer " I don't get it? " asks Lindsey scratching her head.

I make my way to where a few of the kids were looking at other monkeys but all of a sudden...

" Aaaaahhh "

We look over to where the baboon cage was and expressing a mortified look on her face was Heather unable to move but slightly shaking. When she turned to look at everyone I couldn't help but gasp because on her designer dress were multiple splatters of...well let's just call it mud.

" Please tell me this isn't what I think it is " she stutters trying to stay calm "Uh amor stay calm," says Alejandro doing his best to keep calm "Yikes guess that baboon was a little cranky today," says Manitoba going up to them reaching for his walkie talkie.

" Uh let's get you cleaned up miss," says Cameron going over to them " I just called a cart to come for a pickup," says Manitoba looking at Cameron "Okay good " he answers " I'll walk you outside Miss and I'll meet you guys at the bird and reptile sanctuary" he adds nicely guiding Heather out.

" But Mama is gonna miss the rest," says Miguel as he stood with Alejandro " I know but she has to get cleaned up " explains Alejandro trying to comfort his son.

" Alrighty let's continue shall we," said Manitoba trying to keep our minds off after what just happened.

Kid's POV

This field trip has been great and seeing all the animals was cool.

" What animals did you like? " asks Louis walking with Millie, Serenity, Miguel and Mikey " I liked the bear," said Millie and Mikey together only to laugh " The wolves were cool," said Miguel smiling " I like them all," said Serenity cheerfully.

" Right kids we have arrived you'll get to see all sorts of birds here," said Mr.Manitoba as we walked into a place with lots of birds "Wow," we all said as we walk on a path.

" We have many different species of birds like this fella here...the ostriches," he said standing there with lots of them walking or running around.

The more we walked the more cooler all the we saw birds got and some had lots of colours.

Once we walked more we entered where the reptiles were it was a few lizards and turtles.

" Wow look at that big turtle," said Mikey as he ran to the fence " he's big," said Serenity smiling " I wonder if we can get on him?" asks Millie excited "Why would you want to get on a turtle? " asks Miguel looking at Millie weird.

Louis comes to the fence and smiles at the turtle " he looks cool " he gasps watching the turtle move slowly " Actually little ones he's a tortoise and a big species he is " says Mr.Manitoba smiling at us " Can he give us a ride? " asks Millie.

" Unfortunately no little she-La we don't want want to hurt him," he says smiling "But does sound fun " he adds making us laugh "Right now let's move on to our last stop which is one your all going to enjoy," he says before we all get excited.

1:00 PM

As we walked to where we were going while we were on the path there were some birds walking on the grass, they were cool and had big fancy tails.

" Mr.Manitoba what is that bird? " asks Mikey pointing out "These are peacocks they're the only animal we have on the zoo grounds we let walk free " explains Mr.Manitoba smiling "Wow," we say as we look at them.

Serenity looks at the birds but then steps to the side to pick up something "Honey stay with the group " says her daddy along with her mommy " But I wanted to get this " she says showing a peacock feather " Okay but stay together " says her mommy before they join us.

" Alright kiddies the fun part of the tour is the petting zoo where you can all play with the friendly animals and you can feed them some feed," says Mr.Manitoba where we see a fence with baby goats, lambs, rabbits, baby chicks, ducklings and ponies.

Courtney's POV

I was going around taking pictures of the kids in the petting zoo, I know the other animals were cool to see but I think they were having more fun being able to pet the animals.

" Yay bunnies," says Serenity currently petting rabbits with Duncan "Yup there sure are a lot of them " he replies trying to be careful "Well they do breed like crazy " I tease trying not to laugh.

Duncan gives me his grin " Here you go little one some carrots for these furry guys " says Manitoba handing some carrots to Serenity "Here bunny " she calls after receiving them.

I couldn't help but chuckle a little watching, Serenity was so adorable.

" She's so pure and innocent," said Duncan walking up to the fence where I stood " I know...I hope she stays like this always even when she's older " I sigh watching as a few rabbits hopped to Serenity gently offering a carrot "Me too she's my little Angel " replies Duncan smiling.

" Mommy Daddy look those bunnies are dancing " points Serenity where two rabbits were not what you would call dancing. " Oh my " I gasp feeling my anxiety get high "Okay let's go look at other animals," says Duncan quickly picking her up and rushing out of the pen.

I couldn't help but blush I guess it is true what they say "Breeds like rabbits ".

Once with the other kids Serenity joined them in feeding the goats.

" Those rabbits were sure going at it," says Duncan quietly to me "Behave there are kids here " I answer raising a brow at him "Okay but those bunnies started it," he says this time I couldn't help but laugh.

" Hello everyone we're back " announces Cameron walking to us with Heather who was not looking happy and currently wearing an oversized shirt that went past her knees, " sorry it took us a while" he adds looking nervously.

" I knew that outfit of hers would get wrecked " whispers Duncan quickly looking back at the goats, " sadly yeah," I said only knowing how upset she was.

2:30 PM

It was fun while it lasted but our day at the zoo came to an end.

We were all heading to the bus making sure all the kids were counted and on board, " alright that's everyone " said Trent as he came out "Well almost everyone " I said smiling seeing Zoe and our guide currently talking with one another.

Myself and the other volunteers just watched them.

Manitoba was currently holding his hat gripping it tightly and looking nervous, but Zoe smiled kindly at him then before we long Zoe pulls out a pen and writes something in his hand then afterwards she waves at him as she joins us on the bus.

" Okay everyone let's go home now " she announces as the doors close.

As soon as the bus starts moving away and Zoe joins us in the back, I couldn't help but notice blush and a big smile on her face.

Meaning no doubt her and the guide will be seeing each other soon, it just was so cute.

This field trip has been something. Aside from the animals, the crazy tour guide and the baboon throwing stuff all in all this was a lot of fun.
